The BEST complimentary breakfast my husband and I have ever had in all our travels. The beach view room was beautiful. The bathrooms were so luxurious with heated toilet seats, bade, a tub and a shower. The staff was all so wonderful making our stay relaxing and feeling taken care of from the moment we drove in to leaving for our flight home. We would come back and recommend it!!

Stylish and well-equipped luxury hotel next to the beach and close to the beautiful old town.

Our room (junior suite sea view selected) was very comfortable with separate bath and shower, nice products and great views of the sea. There was a minor problem with the bathroom but we were quickly changed to a similar room type on the same floor.

The spa area was relaxing and well-kept, and the excellent selected lounge served drinks and snacks throughout the day. The breakfasts were delicious with a huge range of choice.

The restaurant staff, selected lounge staff and room attendants were very welcoming and efficient.

There were restaurants and pools as well as a gym, spa and even an art gallery area. Fantastic stay. Thank you very much.

Junior suite was tastefully decorated and well equipped (as should be for a 5 ***** ) with every single light or lamp that is dimmable ! Somebody has been thinking ! Too many hotels have bad lighting, no atmosphere or neon bulbs (really?). The balcony had amazing frontal sea view, a comfortable sofa set and a jacuzzi. The bathroom was also very enjoyable and had perfect lighting. The combination of use of space, furniture and lighting is actually just perfect. Staff is super friendly and helpful.
Calling the reception was another thing: when dealing it, the phone would start to ring in the toilet lol :-))
That was a little issue they didn’t seem to be able to solve but didn’t bother us. If I had to say one thing: get some quality comfortable toilet paper. It’s way below par for a 5 star. The entire hotel has been beautifully renovated. There is nothing bad to mention really. The lounge area was excellent too. Food, drinks and staff were great. Some of the guests don’t belong there as they leave a total mess and there were even broken glasses on the floor once, totally disrespecting other guests and staff. Unfortunately wannabes and new money make out a part of nowadays Marbella. Money doesn’t buy class. We luckily also met some really nice people at the hotel though. Breakfast is great and the separate areas, inside or outside, make it feel even more enjoyable. Again, also here, all staff is amazing ! All in all, it’s a great hotel.

Beautiful hotel throughout, spacious room. Service at reception and concierge was fabulous.

However, waiting staff at the Levante needs better training. Tend to ignore people waiting for tables until they are spoken to. We booked a specific table for dinner, but when we came they had given it to someone else. The same waiter who booked it was there, not a word from him. They also delivered another table’s order to ours . almost blamed us for saying we didn’t order it . There doesn’t seem to be one head waiter, it looked quite chaotic.
At breakfast, a waiter showed us to our table and promptly left, without informing us what to do, ie, table service, buffet? No one took our beverage order until we had to catch a waiter’s eye. Breakfast however was very nice indeed with so much variety and very fresh.

Staff asked if I had any complaints. I usually ALWAYS have a least one thing to complain about. But, with this place I really couldn't think of one thing that I didn't like. I took me a good 2 minutes to come up with at least one thing that I didn't like. And, that was their chocolate cake. So, out of everything if the only thing I won't like about my stay is the chocolate cake... then I am really staying at a 5 star. Also, this hotel is SUPER CLEAN and you can smell how could it is before you even enter the hotel.

Staying at El Fuerte Marbella was an amazing experience! The hotel is right by the sea, so we enjoyed refreshing swims in the ocean as well as relaxing moments in the rooftop pool.Our room was comfortable and had a lovely view of the sea.
There are plenty of dining options, but the rooftop restaurant, Edge, was absolutely stunning—perfect for a special dinner with breathtaking views.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, always ready to help and make our stay even more enjoyable.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. The location absolutely cannot be beat. It is right next to the old town but on the promenade (the boardwalk) right on the beach with lovely restaurants. The breakfast was also the best out of any hotel I have stayed at anywhere. The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and would never stay anywhere else if I went back to Marbella.

We really enjoyed our 9 night stay at the Fuerte, staff were very nice (a special thank you to Georges for being so kind and helpful to us), we were always made to feel welcome, from the restaurant staff to the attendants at the front door. Breakfast buffet was wonderful and the hotel is very conveniently located. The only let down was the beach in front of the hotel, once you are in the water, the ocean floor has large rocks that make it a real challenge. There was also a lot of seaweed the week we were there, I know it’s not something the hotel can control, but it was a damper on our otherwise great week.

Beautiful hotel . We had a wonderful stay. Staff excellent and reception highly efficient . Great food available for lunch and the breakfast buffet is fabulous with everything you could possibly want .Need to be careful regarding room choice / allocation as some rooms look away from the property with a disappointing view of neighbouring apartments and waste area . Also some partial sea view room have a huge tree mostly blocking the wonderful view . My room was quickly swapped to a fantastic alternative with minimal inconvenience. I would highly recommend this hotel - also 5 minute walk to the Old Town which is very convenient .

Because of the massive power outage, our train from Madrid to Malaga was stranded for overnight, we had to hire tax driving to Marbella the next day. We missed the first night of our two days stay.
But the hotel people said they didn’t handle the refunds and asked me to make request through agency. Yet the contact person (Mae) told me it depends on the hotel… seems they were kicking the ball?

A beautiful modern beachfront hotel just a 5 min stroll away from Marbella old town.
Minor hiccups: at check in they said we’d have complimentary daily half liter water, the next day they said this was just a one off for the first day, then the day after they changed that again.
The breakfast buffet is great, but the ham they call “iberico de bellota” is clearly “Serrano” (much cheaper) instead, based on color, texture, lack of marbling, flavor etc

The hotel is lovely & check-in was very smooth. We did not realise, however, the hotel was closing on the Sunday & although we can appreciate staff looking forward to their holidays, service was quite lax (not unpleasant, just staff were mainly absent, something unexpected from a 5 Star hotel, where in every other area, they excelled) - this was both in the bar, in the restaurant; breakfast service, however, was excellent

I do believe if we had known the hotel was closing, we would have changed our booking by one-day, so we were disappointed that a) we were not able to use any of the facilities on the final day (or sit by the pool) & b) the service had slipped

It is a beautiful hotel though, in an excellent position, we were just disappointed as we are used to hotels exceeding our expectations

This is a great resort. We stayed 3 nights. We booked a Junior Suite with frontal ocean view and it was totally worth the price. We had a large balcony with its own jacuzzi and a very spacious room with very comfortable bed. Everything at this resort is to notch. The included breakfast was also fabulous and it was served in an indoor/outdoor setting with views of the beach. It was the perfect relaxing way to start each morning.

The information on the web site regarding different rooms are not accurate. We reserved a room with City View (important to have open view) and what they offered us was a room with wall view about 15 ft of an old and ugly building. When we explained that we expected a city view and they said rudely that “This what we mean by City View”. We were very tired after driving for many hours and the front staff not very welcoming and telling us that you can cancel if you like. Totally unexpected from a five star hotel. The Concierge staff NOT helpful at all and really not experienced to be a concierge staff. Polite but NOT helpful at all.

We had a leak in our room dropping water on our floor from the room upstairs. It took one hour and a half for our bags to get to our room after we checked in. You have to go from pool to pool to find towels. Then you have to find your lounge chairs, open heavy umbrellas yourself and position them yourself without assistance. It can take 30 minutes, especially at the upstairs pool to have someone come to take your drink order. Then you wait….

The property is beautiful, very convenient (very close to the Old Town). The breakfast buffet was very good with lots of options to choose from. I just wish that the property would provide some entertainment in the evening other than singers singing quietly. It is very quiet in the evening so you will need to leave the property if you want to have a little more lively evening. I am not young but it was even too quiet for me. Also, the pool closes very early in the evening…I didn’t understand why because there are 3 pools on site and the Adult Only pool was far from the bedrooms windows so noise would not have been a issue. Such a shame.

This is an incredible property, with the best staff I encountered on the whole trip. Highly recommend booking the ‘selected suites’. It allows access to a lounge with unlimited drinks and snacks, as well as a visit to the hydrotherapy spa daily. The suite itself was perfect. Comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom, and amazing views. We also issues with our request to assist in connecting casting which was not working. The temperature of the shower also fluctuated significantly which was frustrating. Overall we enjoyed our stay as the breakfast was great and pool deck had lots of chairs and wonderful access to the walkway.

Hotel is absolutely fantastic. We originally booked 4 nights but extended for an additional 3. The sea view rooms are incredible. Special thanks to Roberto on reception for helping us extend our stay. Food and cocktails are great. The Select lounge has a very good choice of complimentary snacks and alcoholic beverages. We will definitely be coming back.

The only thing to note was some of the tiles around the pool were extremely slippery I know they were changing these one during our stay. But the steps leading down to the toilets by the pool when wet these are very slippy and a family member fell down these. From conversations this happened to others also, so that possibly needs to be looked at.

Hotel Fuerte is a fabulous hotel. Some of the highlights during our stay were as follows:
(1) Reception staff were exceptionally courteous and helpful - when we arrived (early) and our room wasn't ready they gave us complimentary drinks (2) Feurte's location is one of the best in Marbella - closest hotel to Marbella Old Town while also fronting onto the promenade and seafront - ideal (3) Staff overall were very courteous and professional throughout the hotel - we would like to mention Yvonne particularly who greeted us every day/evening with a smile and a brief chat (4) The hotel is spotless - well done to the cleaning staff (5) The comfort in the hotel was excellent - we slept particularly well on very high quality beds and the room layout was very well designed -would recommend people go for a partial/full sea-view (6) The buffet breakfast is fabulous (7) We'd recommend trying the buffet dinner too, which was very reasonably priced also (8) There was entertainment (live music) 3 of the 6 nights we stayed - which we enjoyed having as an option to stay in the hotel some nights

The availability of lighter/smaller snacks though would be welcome in the Pinetree Club

Overall the attention to detail was excellent and the staff fantastic - The hotel we were informed is being refurbished for a year between now and 2022 - we will be returning to the El Fuerte again and really looking forward to the changes they will make as they will probably only enhance the hotel even further

The service, food and attention to detail was first class and could not be faulted in anyway whatsoever. The decor of the rooms and hotel however are of a very Classique style and bordering on the point that it could do with being refurbished. However this type would certainly be very appealing to the older generation who are not looking for the modern furniture design finish. The location is very good, it felt very safe around the grounds during the day and also at night. It was a very pleasant and relaxing stay albeit a little bit too frumpy for my choice of hotel.

Well done to the hotel staff for managing covid safety measures so well. Well organised and clean which gave us peace of mind. We had a wonderful holiday, thank you. Life is different now , you have to wear a face mask some of the time, so what we got to enjoy the many great restaurants in the old town and swim everyday. Bliss!

This is an old Hotel in a great area of Marbella, the place is well maintained.
We are young energetic couple and the problem was that everyone staying at this Hotel is over 65. I really mean everyone.
Nothing wrong with that, just not the place for us.
