Premises were beautiful. Rooms were small and dated, would expect more for the cost. Red level was not worth it. Pool service was lacking except for Ruben who was super attentive. Cappuccino restaurant was fabulous.

Wonderful stay in Marbella

This location was perfect for exploring the city but also being on the beach / boardwalk. Rooms and view were great. Bathrooms a little small but fine. Club lounge was terrific and worth the upgrade for us.

The hotel is well located. 20 min walking distance to old town. 10 min to various restaurants at the beach. A Michelin recommended good restaurant on site. The staff is friendly, especially Enrique at the front desk. The hotel room is clean but the bathroom is small, furniture and decor could be upgraded or renewed.

Bring all your stuff with you because....

I forgot my 1 week old Airpods Max on the pillow upon checking out. When I was in the taxi on my way to another city I emailed them and said that I forgot my headphones charging on the pillow. They answered me a bit later telling me that they couldnt find any headphones in the room.

This is something that is so scary when it comes to 5 star hotels not being honest about belongings in the hotel rooms.

Yes.. I know that I should have brought my headphones, but in this case I contacted them immediately after checkout and they told told me ice cold that my headphones was not in the room. One thing that they might not know is that I can see the last location of the headphones..

Never again Don Pepe.

Having been visiting Marbella and the golden mile for over 20years now, we decided to finally have a week at the Don Pepe.

What a fabulous experience we had, attentive staff and exceptional service. The hotel and its gardens were impeccable.
We will definitely be booking again soon.

Beautiful grounds & reception areas. The bedrooms are very small however. We had to change room as our neighbours were making noise at 3 o’clock in the morning. After that inconvenience all, we asked for was a late check out but refused & all they could give us was till 1pm. So no favours there. Nevertheless, the staff in general are very nice.

Beautiful views excellent food

Lovely hotel in a great location. Beautiful grounds and great service. We paid extra for the “red level” which entitled us to a private lounge that had food and drink out available for a good part of the day, nice quality! The room we had was a little dated, unexpected for that level but over all very comfortable and we had a beautiful view of the ocean. The breakfast in the morning was amazing! We enjoyed our stay here.

A ruined new years. The hotel recommended its partner restaurant, cappuccino as a casual place to eat as we didn’t want the fanfare. When we went to eat at 8pm the were not even open.

So we went back to the horror hotel that refused to serve us bc the kitchen closed at 8 and it was 8:12.

Never again.

Wonderful service

I visited this wonderful hotel to celebrate my sister's 50th birthday, and we were so pleased with the overall service. This hotel is truly a gem! The decor is stylish and the gardens and pool area were so well maintained. The hospitality staff were truly amazing and made my sister and i feel so welcomed and special. We send our sincere thanks to Isabel who was an exceptional host and always made time to stop and chat to all the guests. And the whole hospitality team, including our waiters Flores and Sylvia who always went above and beyond to serve us at breakfast. Such wonderful service. Thank you Gran Melia!

I paid $1,200 usd per night and the Ac did not work from the moment that I checked in! They kept on telling me that it would eventually cool off but it never did! They actually send a fan as a solution to the AC.
This is the most ridiculous hotel I have ever seen!!
Finally the second day I checked out and cut short my trip!
Also they couldn’t get my safe to work but I had booked a king bed but they gave me a doubles!!

Maid came at 10pm the second nite to turn down the bed. We were sleeping. Also first nite the alarm went off twice and woke us up. Flies at pool were annoying.

Hotel facilities are beautiful , pool area large and well kept, spa facilities also good. Saturday afternoon sax player at pool restaurant Bardot was fantastic and dinner at tahini was very good although the service wasn’t the friendliest and they all seem confused about who is doing what job.
Rooms could do with a little bit of an update but the beds were very comfortable

Good class hotel on the beach with great amenities

Hotel is in good location within easy access to all facilities, shopping, bars, cafes, restaurants, car, cycle hire etc.
Staff are always to hand with excellent hotel facilities and comfort, drinks pricey although there area plenty other places to eat and drink reasonably.

The check in was bad especially the lady named nathalie was obnoxious and rude and unhelpful.
The hotel service was terrible. Very little service and slow. It is an old proprety that was updated but has no personality and or charm. It is a 3.5 star hotel and not 5 star by any means. Expensive for this type of hotel. Very disappointed and will not recommend it

I had the worst time ever. There was construction that started at 8am and vibrated my whole room. When I complained they offered me an upgrade on my NEXT stay and gave me a cheap bottle of champagne. I think they should have given me a discount or some kind of voucher for while I was staying there. After my experience I will not be going back their even if they give me a free upgrade. They even lied to me and said the will tell the construction workers to start at 11am but they started at 8am just like the previous day

Food not great tho, it’s ok. Room was quite small, I am used to bigger rooms & I phoned to say I’m sure I’d booked bigger room they said they’d look into it & I never heard a thing again!!! Great hotel with fantastic location

The location of the hotel was perfect, right on the beach front with lovely walks either side to take you into the heart of Marbella or Puerto Banus. The hotel itself was beautiful with fantastic facilities and grounds, definitely recommend it for a relaxing break

Needs to work a bit harder for its 5 star rating

The room I was in (107) was rather tired. The bathroom ridiculously small to the extent that the door to the toilet was so narrow the sliding door couldn't be opened completely and my knees touched the bidet when I sat on the loo (and I am only 157cm tall!!). No complimentary tea or coffee making facilities and no bottled water provided except on the first night despite being told by the bar staff that we shouldn't drink tap water.

Room cleaning and turn down service a bit hit and miss! Sometimes I got two bath towels and sometimes only one. Sometimes there was a turndown service and other times none so with only one towel is meant the towel was still wet in the morning.

The pool service and pool bar were excellent and breakfast was also very good indeed. Food at the pool bar for lunch was brilliant as was the Japanese restaurant (Tahini) where we ate twice. Also had two lovely treatments at the Clarins Spa.

Final nuisance was that pretty much every day my room key stopped working and had to be reset even though it was never near my mobile phone or tablet.

Overall a 4 star experience and I would go back but based on this visit I couldn't agree with a 5 star rating.

Hotel by the sea

We had a wonderful time. Hotel staff were excellent. Most welcoming and helpful. They provided a suggestion for dinner made our reservations at a restaurant and the food was amazing. Then made suggestion to watch Flamenco dancing. Fabulous time. Hotel is a short walk to town. Location is along the sea front where you find a boardwalk that leads you town. Would definitely go back.

Excellent experience. Well appointed rooms, great quality bedding and amenities. Breakfast, which was included in my rate, was amazing. Anything you can possibly want was included. Location is great, walking distance into Marbella's old town (about 25 mnts). 12 minute cab ride into Puerto Banus, a small haven for rich and famous.. the only negative is the strong, offensive smell in the lobby that wasn't pleasant . Thank goodness it was not in the rooms.

The hotel was outdated and smelled like an ashtray

I was horrified that this was what was recommended to me by Expedia agents and that the cost was so high. I felt cheated out of two days of my vacation. This is not a 5 star hotel.

Long Weekend in Marbella

The welcome drink sets the tone for the stay - you know you're going to enjoy your trip when it starts with a glass of cava. The hotel is on the water with direct access to the board walk. Indoor and outdoor pool means you can swim regardless of Mother Nature's whims. The rooms are very clean, maybe slightly dated (I'm look at you fake candle looking lights in the bathroom) but nothing to complain about. The staff are beyond kind and know what it means to be \"of service.\" Great stay, would certainly return given the chance.

Beautiful elegant hotel, staff amazing couldn't do anymore for you, nice little bar right under the hotel on the beach front called cappuccino's serves nice food!!
I haven't gave them a full 5 star Overall as I believe there is always room for improvement! Only negative thing was the gym was a little too basic and small for a 5 star, but then again as I said always room for improvement! Would certainly recommend this hotel, and when I'm back in September I will certainly be attending again.

I would like to had given a 5 throughout, but the staff at the pool side bar let the rest of the staff down, everyone was helpful and had a very pleasant disposition, cannot remember the name of the girl at reception with the glasses, who was working on our arrival at reception and departure, as well as Ana at the whiskey bar, they area credit to the hotel

Just perfection

We have stayed in some excellent hotels but this one was above and beyond anything we have experienced before. The hotel itself was extremely luxurious and beautiful, nothing was too much trouble to the staff. The grounds were planted with lovely flowers and had two pools plus an indoor pool and jacuzzi. There were restaurants in the hotel and also a bistro type cafe overlooking the sea perfect for cocktails at sunset. Between the hotel grounds and the sea was a paved coastal walk leading to the marina and the town. All in all a perfect locality to explore to pretty old town and admire the amazing Dali sculptures.

Great hotel, the staff make it extra special

Lovely hotel with beautiful gardens surrounding a super pool area and on the beach front separated by a promenade.
The hotel offers several restaurants, all of good quality. The breakfast is a real treat, literally everything you want is available.
Every member of staff we encountered was not only professional but genuinely friendly and seemed to enjoy their job. This is a credit to the management.
WiFi only worked in the room.

Lovely hotel close to beach

Hotel has very smart lobby areas with few lounges and short walk outside hotel to buffet breakfast area, lovely grounds , few pools , gym , indoor pool and I think 3 areas outside to eat/drink. Pool staff monitor the loungers reserved but not used and take towels away so always plenty loungers available , you can hire one of the Bali beds. Hotel is right on long promenade so lovely walk into Marbella and little further to old town , beach is opposite. Hotel is in mainly residential area lots of apartments , shops and cafes along promenade. Our room was junior suite red level on floor 6, sea views from higher floors probably garden view from lower floor. Red level provided us with private lounge on first floor with patio area, cold buffet with drinks all day , entertainment also , the lounge closed at 9 pm but this made holiday as we thought all lounge areas in main hotel empty most evenings. Would recommend hotel ...but was long walk for us into Marbella and not much to see there, some hotels much nearer the Old Town which would be good for walking to for evening meal etc. Puerto Banus was taxi ride away we loved it there very classy lots of huge yatchs and exclusive shops .

Disappointing start, got better

Arrived at 01:00 hrs. Given the worst room - 807. Cracked tiles / no grouting in bathroom. shabby decor, aircon not working (had engineer trying to fix it at 02:00 hrs). Noisy - next to the lift shaft. flyblown lampshades, WiFi not operable - generally very poor condition. Complained, but night staff were not accommodating at all. Met Mr Peres - General Manager the following morning, and was moved to a newer, cleaner and much better room.
After the initial poor experience, the accommodation was vastly improved. High season meant staff were too few for the guests, so slow, forgetful service. Food generally good, plentiful.
Room service / cleaning staff helpful and cheerful.
