Loved my hotel apartment with all the kitchen appliances… especially the oven. Had a wonderful view of the back garden and pool and trail down to beach. A perfect location steps from the main bus route , the beach, supermarket and restaurants. Very beautiful restaurant and bar in hotel. Close to beach without the noise from the beach and situated on a beautiful tree lined boulevard. I would definitely come back and stay here .

We’ve stayed at this property before so there were no surprises. As like most places on this part of the coast the buildings are quite dated from back in the heyday, so don’t expect anything modern or new. The Monarque Sultán is comfortable, has large apartment/rooms and is in a nice location with proximity to the old town and the beachfront promenade. They try to keep it in very good condition.

First room I was given, on the 5th floor, it was really dirty, disappointing ,certainly not 4*.I called reception to ask for an alternative. The uninterested man at the tatty reception just gave me keys to go and look at 2 other rooms myself. We moved to a nicer room, though it was barely 4*.

Large apartment in a quieter location
We just returned from a 4 night break in Marbella with our 7 year old daughter. The hotel is in a good location just a street back from the seafront and 300m to the harbour. Rooms are a little dated but served us well. Very nice hotel overall, would definitely return.

We used the indoor swimming pool. The lady was quite rude and impolite. The understandable policy was no outdoor footwear but when i questioned why she was wearing outdoor footwear she said it was because she needed to go in and out frequently!
The following day she asked where one of the towels we borrowed was although we left them all in the basket the previous day, she was insinuating we stole it and i really didn't like the manner in which she was asking. She then asked my wife to stop my children from diving in the pool (understandably) and a maintenance man in his overalls to stand watching my wife which made her uncomfortable as she was in her swim-wear...

Lovely hotel, no complaints
Had a great time, hotel apartment well equipped no complaints. Due to the time of year the sun didn't get to the pool until the afternoon, and the pool was very cold, but that was not a problem as it was so close to the beach, and we went out each day. Pool and surrounding gardens well kept and also the use of the indoor pool was free and a jacuzzi. We did not eat at the hotel so can not comment on food. Plenty of bars and restaurants near by and breakfast served all day so we eat out.

Apartment even better than expected. Lovely roomy apartment with nice furnishings and very clean. Huge balcony with a great view of the pool. All areas of this hotel were in pristine condition making it like a 5 star establishment and even better than some 5* hotels I've stayed in. Would not hesitate to recommend it to others as it was also in the perfect location for the sights and beach of Marbella.

The Sultan is our favourite hotel in Marbella. It's a beautiful hotel in a prime location a few minutes from the prom. The apartments are spacious with an attached balcony. The staff are ever friendly and made us very welcome. Maybe the furniture could be upgraded .

Excellent location only 250 yards from the beach and close to a range of restaurants and shops. 15 mins walk from Orange Square. Accomodation was very comfortable and ideal for a relaxing weekend. Sheltered pool and gardens to the rear. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.

I have stayed here numerous times and it is in a great position, what lets it down is the consistency of the staff. Some are very helpful and some are not. We stayed for breakfast and depending on what day the service was very inconsistent On the Sunday the service was excellent, on the the three other days it was poor. The rooms are very spacious, however they could be cleaner, may be a little more attention to dusting would not go amiss. The balcony rails were covered in sea gull poo! This could be a great hotel, if it paid more attention to detail.

Our room was really spacious with a separate lounge diner and kitchen as well as a balcony. It was modern and clean and just a short walk from the beach, bars and the supermarket. We enjoyed the comfort of the apartment alongside the hotel facilities including indoor and outdoor pools.

Good size room with separate living and kitchen areas and tiled floors, not luxurious but newish and in fairly good order. I was impressed for the price I paid but not sure how that would change at different times of the year! Relatively quiet location but less than 5 minutes walk down to the beach, and less than 15 to a huge number of bars and restaurants towards the port and town centre. There is free street parking in surrounding streets but even out of season it was extremely busy, so I paid €10 a day to park under the hotel. There is a useful supermarket in the public parking complex on the front 5 minutes away. I stayed here for a few days of warm weather cycling, I wouldn't really recommend Marbella itself for that purpose but the hotel itself was good.

Nice Aparthotel near the beach
We liked our stay. Our room was overlooking the outdoor swimming pool and it was one bedroom but big. Balcony was also big. Having the sunshine all afternoon. Quiet location, 10 min walk to the town cetre. We didn't have meals. Just one complain was the neigbours next door were a bit loud one night but after complaining everything was fine. Overall nice apathotel. I wouldn't mind to stay in it again.

Lovely style apartment / hotel room. Fantastic location for Marbella. Nice hotel and facilities. Was there for business and not holiday so can't really give a holiday hotel opinion. Nice hotel though for Marbella and close to the beach. Only downside was there was no water in the fridge which would of been a nice freeby rather than the sewing kit or tissues. Unfortunately was not able to use the sun terrace which was a nice size for two Nevermind for just myself. You won't go wrong with this hotel. Breakfast was good as well.

From the minute you enter the hotel you receive a warm and inviting atmosphere. Check-in was pleasure. The hotel is located in a very convenient area to beach and main walkway.
We traveled by bus from Malaga airport this is a good service and very reasonably priced. We traveled by taxi from the bus station to the hotel which was short 6 minutes travel was again reasonably priced.
The room was very well laid out and clean. The cleaning staff provide a quality cleaning service.We couldn't ask for anymore. Looking forward to our next booking.

Pleasant Hotel with Apartment Rooms
I arrived at a cheerful looking hotel and was dealt with promptly by reception. My apartment was a good size with lovely balconies and views towards the mountains. The kitchette had microwave, hob, oven, fridge, washing machine, crockery etc.
It was only a 5 minute walk to the beach and I enjoyed a walk along the busy promenade towards Marbella centre looking at cafes as I walked. The promenade goes as far as a river mouth before Puerto Banus in the opposite direction. There is a bus stop and supermarket about 1-2 minutes walk away and I estimate it is a 20 minute walk to Marbella centre using various routes past shops and cafes. Hopefully the WiFi will be improved soon as it is too slow at times to even look up information on Marbella.

This was our second stay at the Sultan Hotel and just as enjoyable as the first. lovely friendly and helpful staff, nice Quiet hotel, well equipped apartments if a little tired, a small upgrade only required, excellent situation with lots of restaurants, supermarkets and beach on your doorstep. A nice beachfront walk into Marbella old town or the other way into Port Banus depending on how far you want to walk! Will be going back to the Sultan next time we go to Marbella.

Very good hotel with polite and efficient staff. Great location near beach and town centre. Overall this is a very good hotel to stay in. Family friendly with two swimming pools (out and in). There is a new restaurant bar area built with great decor and facilities. My only criticism is that portions in the restaurant were very small. The food was good but because you leave hungry you are not going to return. Nobody else in restaurant (half term in Uk). Doesn't make sense to me to spend so much on new facilities and fail on the product!

We were pleasantly surprised with the Sultan Club.We occupied a 1-bed apartment.The decor is a bit dated but other than that it suited us perfectly.The kitchen is well stocked with dishes,pots etc,it has a full size oven,a 2-ring hob,small fridge & dishwasher plus a washing machine.The bathroom is spacious with plenty of towels.The lounge has comfortable seating,a TV & free wifi which is slow.Our balcony overlooked the pool area,even though we needed to lean over the wall to see it,we had nice views to the west,Porto Banus etc.The balcony is furnished with a table,chairs plus 2 loungers.The hotel's location couldn't be better,close to the Maritimo,restaurants & shops,in fact the whole of Marbella is within walking distance,buses close by also so no need for a car!

Very nice hotel, good restaurant and amazing views (top floor). This is an apartment hotel, I had a kitchen and living room that were well outfitted. The living room furniture was clean and comfortable, but showing lots of wear. The beds were comfortable (firm but not too hard). Terrific place to go for an extended period of time. The pool wasn't as clean as it should have been.

The staff are not helpful, very few have even a few words of english. The apartment was not cleaned properly upon our arrival and had to be done again.
The \"gym\" is dirty and nearly all the equipment was broken at the start of our holiday and did not get fixed when we left 9 days later.
Many of the sunbeds are also old, dirty and broken.

Good location so didn't spent too much time in the room,and food at hotel was good. Unfortunately the room was not clean and we had to ask them to clean the floor. Electric not working in the bedroom, which they were unable to fix! reception staff very helpful, from booking taxis to arranging a trip to Gibraltar

Arrived in scorching heat to a large, chilled, air-conditioned apartment. The outdoor pool is small but adequate for the guest numbers and very child friendly as it is only ~1.2 m at its deepest. Can be a little congested at times.

Beware of poor internet connection
Don't count on getting any work done with the internet connection at the hotel, this is the reason for the lower score. The connection is pitiful, not even possible really to check email during my stay - let alone any other work or general surfing.

First time staying, was a FS tactic location, 3 minute walk to beach and main Marbella strip. Palmyra is the new bar/restaurant just opened at the hotel which is very upmarket and nice for a drink. Hotel staff very nice, as well as good room sizes and facilities. Pool area clean and tidy and a nice mix of young and families. Would highly recommend.

Upon arriving at the Hotel Sultan Club we were amazed and pleased at the size of our accommodation, we found it quiet and well placed for most of the amenities in the immediate Marbella area with a 10 minute walk into Orange Square. We would be more than happy to stay there again.

This was our first time at the Sultan Club Apart-hotel.We were pleasantly surprised.The apartment was large and roomy.A very well equipped kitchen,and large modern TV with BBC 1&2 and ITV and the usual news channels available in English.The furnishing wasn't to our taste and a little dated maybe,but as it's arabesque its in keeping with the name of the hotel.The beds were comfortable and the Balcony was large enough for two sunbeds,a table and 4 chairs,a drying rack,and still enough room to swing a cat! in short amazing!The room was cleaned every day,clean towels, beds made etc.by friendly efficient staff.The only area in which the hotel let itself down was the breakfast,unfortunately the coffee was undrinkable ( a new coffee machine definitely required!! please take note!!) apart from that not great but enough there to work with.And of course you really don't need to take breakfast with a well equipped kitchen in your apartment! There are two excellent supermarkets only five minutes walk away!The beach is at the end of the road,3 minutes,Marbella and Orange square and lots of shops and restaurants only a short walk along the seafront.Port Banus is within walking distance along the strand, or a short taxi ride away.To sum up,on the plus side,a very pretty Hotel,very clean and spacious,friendly and helpful staff,a great indoor pool & spa,& a great situation.On 0, a little dated, Breakfast,and perhaps the small outdoor pool area.We loved it,and will definitely go back.

The hotel could never be rated as a 4 stars hotel. Maybe a 2/3 stars. The advertising about services like SPA, manicure, sauna, pilates and others could never be reached. Either there was nobody there to attend or the only time I was finally able to ask for an appointment, when I came back at the set time nobody was there and the service could not be available. The room was clean, but it needs to be upgraded urgently. The door mirror for the wardrobe was lose with risk of falling. The wire connecting the lamp was bare in several points.

Hotel and holiday chosen on reviews. We were not disappointed (apart from the cost of WiFi to room). Staff very friendly, lovely big rooms in the apartment and super cleaned everyday. Beds comfortable and hotel location suited our needs. 5 minutes stroll to beach and 20 minutes into old town of Marbella. Short taxi ride to Port Buenos to see the super rich. Old style market on a Saturday is fun there (located on a steep hill). Hotel pools and fitness centre were there if required. Gardens with real parrots flying around them were lovely, mossies weren't! Hotel bar and restaurant were good value and excellent Italian restaurant just across the road. Local supermarket that opened early and closed at 2am was a bonus, note that beer sales stop at 10pm though. WiFi free in hotel reception area only. Otherwise cost for each item used charged to room........in today's age this was very strange as we needed to keep in contact with business and family. Only reason for taking half a point off overall review. Malaga airport also didn't do free WiFi. Other than local traffic noise we didn't experience other noisy guests.
Will be back as we enjoyed Marbella and this hotel was really good and made our stay very happy. Many thanks to the hotel staff for their guidance and help when needed.
