Quaint place to stay!

We loved our stay here. Very nice and would recommend it to anyone! The only drawback was that there was no air conditioning and our room was on the top floor with no elevator. The clerk offered to take our bags up but we didn’t need assistance. But if you cannot climb stairs, you may want to confirm where your room is located. It was quite warm while we stayed there but fortunately the evening was cool. I also realize that many places in Europe do not have air conditioning.

Parking was the reason I chose this hotel and when I got there was told they only had space where my vehicle would be blocked in ,so used taxis the whole 4 days , then was charged for parking ! Disappointing ! Had familly did not want to argue !

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The people were wonderful and helpful. The room was cute and set up to make us feel welcome and had more than everything we needed. Breakfast in the garden was cute and tasty. The area was quiet and was close to food and transportation. We had a problem getting a taxi to the airport at the end and they were able to make a call and have a taxi for us within five minutes. They came out and waited with us to ensure we were taken care of. We highly recommend this place and would coke back again.

We are satisfied with Hotel Villa Escudier. The property is pretty and cozy. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The suite that we stayed in has a broken tile on the side of the bathtub that needs to be fixed. It was just covered by a plywood. It has a small kitchen and that made it easy for our family to buy food to store in the fridge and warm our food in the microwave. The property is very accessible to the grocery stores, restaurants and Paris Metro Boulonge- Jean Jaures. We were able to find our way in and put of Paris using the Metro. Do not stay in this hotel during summer since they don’t have A/C especially if you have kids although they provided us with a big fan. Best time to come is during fall, spring and winter. I would have rated this property a bit higher if they have A/C in there room. 8/10

The hotel was clean, the person at the front desk was extremely attentive and helpful, the site very, very quiet and five of us slept quite comfortable. The only comment would be that the shower doesn't have a curtain/door, so we had to be extra careful in not getting everything wet (three kids with a hand-held shower in a big bathroom?). Metro was a couple of blocks away, as were some nice lunch/dinner options.

Ideal base on the doorstep of central Paris.

We had a family apartment (two inter-joining doubles each with its own toilet/bathroom and kitchenette) for five nights, which was ideal for gramps and nanny to babysit our four month old grandchild, whilst mummy and daddy visited Le Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines for the Ryder Cup.
It was clean, tidy and exactly what was advertised and what we required.
The staff were friendly and efficient and were ready to do anything required to make our stay comfortable and relaxing.
Shops, restaurants, take-aways and Jean-Jaures metro station were all within a few hundred yards.
Will happily return in the future.

The room is very clean although the lift is very small.
It is close to the metro which is very convenient. I was there for business therefore I didn’t mind the local amenities there are good restaurants around.
The only bad thing is the breakfast. A continental breakfast that is separately charge. It was better to have a better breakfast on my way to work or a combination of both.

Very cosy bed and breakfast in Boulogne. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are clean and the wifi signal is very strong. Breakfast for ten euros is delivered to your room with fresh pastries, hot chocolate and other delicious things.

Serenity in busy Paris

Paris was hot and very crowded, so we especially enjoyed this quiet and beautiful hotel. The small garden where breakfast is served is surrounded by pretty flowers.
The walk to the next metro (Boulogne Jean Jaures) takes around 10 min by foot.
Get some drinks for your fridge to enjoy them in the court yard at night, since there is no service for lunch/dinner/drinks.
Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Good, but…

Stayed there for 8 nights in total. Overall good experience. The hotel is nestled in a quite neighbourhood of Boulogne-Billancourt. Rooms are not big, but decent size for single person traveling or couple. Beds are comfy. In room amenities a bit old but functional. Price wise, it's ok. Neighbourhood is great, peaceful, a lot of restaurants, bistros, kebab shops, supermarkets, typical bakeries and very close to metro Jean-Jaures (line 10). Metro ride to Eiffel Tower and the Champs Elysée very easy and quick. Staffs were good.
However, on the downside, rooms are not properly isolated. It can get very annoying at night since you can hear people walking, talking and even smell people smoking…

It's in a quite rustic setting. Rooms are ok. Small but cute. However, very noisy. A lot of people smashing doors. Rooms are not well isolated as I could here people talk all night!!! Also, the concierge barge in my room at 1 a.m as he was showing the room to some people?! He didn't apologize…But, overall service and staff were good.

nice hotel with a lovely garden

we stayed here one night to see Paris and then continue our road trip to Italy. When we arrived we found we couldn't use the underground car park because there was a height limit and our vehicle wouldn't fit with the roof box on so we had to park on the road and pay which was cheap, but confusing because the pay machines were in the process of being changed. The hotel itself is lovely being set back from the road with a beautiful garden to sit in and the staff are very pleasant. The rooms themselves are quite small, but very comfortable and there is a small lift to help with luggage. The metro station to Paris is a short walk away and you have to change once to get to the main sites like the Eiffel Tower. We also found an excellent Chinese restaurant nearby.

Friendly and helpful staff. We booked a room for 4 persons, assigned an apartment 100m away in another residential block, so my comments do not relate to the main hotel. Nice apartment, though a bit aged inside. Full kitchen and has an affordable community laundry nearby. Hotels.com had communication problem with the hotel and promised buffet breakfast however this small petit boutique hotel doesn't even have a restaurant, but the management is so nice and offered us breakfast anyway. A pleasant stay. Thank you.

Really helpful and friendly manager welcomed us to a cosy hotel tucked away from the bustle of Paris but with easy access via Metro. Pleasant garden area and comfy room, although there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the room and the lift was out of order during our stay for which the manager was very apologetic and helped with our luggage. The breakfast was on the expensive side, 10 euros each for some croissants, orange juice and coffee. With several lovely local patisseries it may be better to eat out. A great little hotel though if you want to visit Paris but have somewhere quite to stay.

Oasis of peace

Loved staying at the villa. The garden courtyard and the rooms proviede an oasis of peace amongst the excitement of Paris in summer. The staff were exceptionally helpful and went out of their way to ensue my stay was fantastic. The villa is well located to the metro (about 10mins to the Eiffel Tower and 20mins to St Michael's Fountain) and also has all necessary amenities (including friendly cafes, shops, banks and a laundry) within couple of minutes walk.

Room smaller than expected - it was meant to be able to sleep 3 but really couldn't have. They may have given us a small one as we were only 2 people but we had paid for a 3 sleeper.

Hotel charming but expensive for what it was and while I couldn't say the staff were unfriendly they weren't friendly either.

Otherwise, a very nice quirky hotel in a quite and tranquil setting. I would probably go there again if I was going to the tennis stadium again.

A perfectly situated hotel for the Roland Garros stadium - under 10 mins walk. Also near a Metro station. We had a lovely big room on the ground floor overlooking the pretty garden, where we had breakfast every morning. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and we are planning a return visit next year!

Quiet, residential, and EXACTLY what I needed.

Great little boutique hotel close enough to the exciting parts of Paris, but a mere Metro ride away into a nice residential neighborhood that's quiet at night. The hotel proprietors were top-notch - always working to meet my needs as they evolved during this business trip. The rate was fair, and the rooms (I had two) were excellent. Only things to note: while the Metro is close, Boulogne is down in the SW of Paris - so if you want to be in the action, this may not be your choice. But it suited me well. Also, the steam heat wasn't yet on for 7 of my 8 days during this summer-to-autumn week, and the room was a bit cool for my taste. But when it came on my last day, it was very comfortable. I'm definitely coming back to Villa Escudier.

This is a great hotel for families visiting Paris. It's just a short metro trip into the centre of Paris. We had a duplex room, so the 3 kids shared the upstairs 2 double beds and we had a double bed downstairs. There was a small kitchenette and a lovely garden out the front where we had our breakfast. The staff were very friendly.

Perfect location for attending Rock en Seine festival. Pretty garden hidden away from the street. Hotel was very attractive with shutters and traditional features. Our studio room was homely and clean. Staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious - croissants, coffee and baguettes. Only criticisms are lack of hairdryer in the room, and our room on the ground floor wasn't sound-proof so we could hear people talking in reception when we were in our room.
Would definitely stay here again if going to the festival.

Added Tax Charged - Not What was Promised

What you get is not what you are promised or what you see in the pictures and on the website. The promise was for a TWO bedroom (there were four of us) self-catering apartment in a gardened Villa. Instead we were escorted around the corner to the top floor of another building which, while generally OK, was NOT a two bedroom apartment but a single bedroom with a lounge room which had a fold-out divan to double as the other bed. We were told that \"this was the standard in Paris\". Cleanliness was wanting.

What we had was really only a one bedroom apartment with lounge and small kitchen - as such really only suitable for two people to occupy comfortably - there was nowhere for the couple who had to sleep in the lounge room to put their belongings (case, clothes etc).

We were charged \"tax\" on top of the amount paid via Expedia, although the booking confirmation we received from Expedia clearly stated that the tax was INCLUDED in the price paid. This was discussed in detail with the Villa Excudia person at the time of checkout (we were unaware of the extra payment until then) but no satisfaction was gained.

This was our first city-break with the children and we were very happy with the accommodation. As other reviewers have mentioned it's a little further out than some hotels it is very accessible via a quick trip on the Metro and is situated in a pleasant & quiet residential neighbourhood just two minutes walk from the nearest Metro station.

We had a Duplex room between two adults and three children aged 9 to 12 which was very comfortable, clean & cosy, and also had the added bonus of a small kitchenette which was perfect for preparing breakfast croissant & lunch baguettes etc before heading out to the tourist sites. Unfortunately the weather did not match up to the hotel and therefore we were unable to enjoy the picturesque gardens but I imagine they are very pleasant in the sunshine!

We would recommend this hotel to anyone heading off to Paris.

Hotel Villa Escudier - is a beautiful hotel to stay at in Paris. While not being in the busy centre of everything, it is an easy metro trip to anything.
Service was lovely, friendly and respectful despite our poor French.
The most amazing thing about it is the beautiful garden, so rare in Paris. The roses and the garden gave the hotel a feeling of being in an oasis in a city environment.

Very happy with our room!

I was worried that this hotel would be way far away from the tourist sites, but it was very easy to find with the metro. Hotel was clean and had character. No real communication between us and staff but that was because neither spoke the other's language, but we made it through and staff was very pleasant. Breakfast was bountiful and wonderful! I would recommend this hotel to a friend!

Très jolie décoration pour cet hôtel, une petite pépite cachée qui abrite un joli patio bien arrangé et convivial. L’accueil est très sympathique, le petit déjeuner « à l’ancienne » est excellent. J’ai de plus pu faire mon checkin bien avant le bien classique 15h, ce qui après une nuit dans l’avion a été très apprécié. Je reviendrai !

Premier séjour dans cet hôtel que je ne connaissais pas malgré ses 30 ans d'existence !
Je suis très contente. Très propre. Très calme. Literie impeccable.
Les points à améliorer : un peu de modernité serait bienvenue comme des prises USB, une douche à la place de la baignoire, un système électrique plus homogène.
Quant au petit déjeuner, servi en chambre quand le temps ne permet pas son service dans le jardin, il mériterait d'être plus équilibré (fruits ? yaourts ? fromages ?) au lieu de ces gros croissant + pain au chocolat délicieux certes mais ... pas assez fit !

Rekommenderar!!!!

Mysigt och vackert hotell med oförglömlig rosenträdgård där vi åt frukost varje dag. Väldigt trevlig personal! Och så najs och lugnt kvarter utanför paris att komma hem till efter att ha turistat inne i paris hela dagarna...
Två mindre kommentarer på minussidan:
Vi saknade ett sätt att sortera våra sopor. Vi bodde i vindsrummet, och det hade varit bra med en bättre air condition där för det var för varmt på nätterna tyvärr.

Parfait !

Parfait ! Super appartement familiale, les lits sont confortables, le lieu calme.
Exactement ce que nous recherchions.
Je trouve un peu cher le parking à 15€ mais nous sommes à Paris !

Rien à redire sur mon sejour passé.
Ma chambre était confortable et spacieuse.
Peut etre faudrait il prevoir un petit rafraîchissement ? Mais c'est aussi ce qui fait le charme de cet hotel.

Aspetto positivo: l’hotel é carino, tranquillo, ben posizionato. Ciò malgrado meritebbe una rinfrescata: La camera era spaziosa, tranquilla, ma i velux non potevano essere aperti (difettosi); la doccia, dentro la vasca da bagno, era sotto lo spiovente del tetto rendendo i movimenti complicati per una persona di media altezza; il mobile in bagno sotto il lavello è rovinato; la moquette si scolla dal pavimento. Insomma: l’impressione è che l’hotel necessiti dei lavori di ristrutturazione.

Fine, cozy hotel

Arrived very late. Reception was closed, but precise instructions per mail made it easy to get in and get my keys to my room.
Room was small but cozy and functional. Plus clean. No complaints there. Breakfast was served in my room, also very practical. The breakfast in it self was nothing special, though (but the coffee was good and plenty). The area is a bit from the main tourist attractions, but still a nice area.
