After a month of traveling throughout Italy, our stay at Misia Country Resort stands out as one of the absolute best. Seriously, this place is not to be missed.
Our experience here was far above expectation. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the property conditions and facilities were truly first-rate—everything was perfect, well-maintained, and comfortable.
The Unmissable Hike and View
While the hotel is a destination in itself, there is one experience here that is an absolute must-do: the hike up the nearby hill. Don't let the incline put you off! It's a relatively short but rewarding climb that takes you through a winding stone path flanked by incredible rose bushes.
Once you reach the top, the reward is an utterly breathtaking panoramic view. You get a spectacular perspective of the entire Tuscan valley spread out below you. Go just before sunset if you can; the light is pure magic. It's the kind of view that will stick with you long after you've left.
We highly recommend Misia Country Resort to friends and family—it was one of the highlights of our entire Italian journey!

We loved this property. The only hiccups were the shower head was not working and the floor board was coming up in the bathroom. Everything else was fantastic and the bed and room were so so comfortable!

Beautiful location. Property was very nice. However, the top sheet on the bed was as scratchy as sand paper and the towels smelled terrible. Towels were not replaced next day. Food at breakfast was exactly the same each morning, meaning the food was more stale each day. A few changes and the place would be excellent.

It was so peaceful at the resort. It’s 3 miles outside the city wall and there are 3 taxis in town but if you reserve ahead of time, there are no issues going back and forth. Everyone was so kind and after being in some crazy chaotic touristy areas, it was nice to be somewhere calm. The room was incredible and the bed was so comfortable! Everything was beautiful and would stay again!

This was such a lovely property with unique yet well-equipped rooms, a delightful host, and amazing views. I’m so glad we were able to stay here. There’s only one restaurant within walking distance which was fully booked, but we were able to get a cab and have a delicious dinner in the beautiful old downtown area. Definitely recommend!

We wanted to change back to original booking (sleep 3) but it was so late and we wouldnt make it to dinner.

Beautiful little inn with great customer service
This is a beautiful, country inn with great views, upscale rooms, peace and quiet and a terrific host. The decor is like something in a magazine: eclectic, creative, warm, and rich. Our view was of the valley and the room was very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent (lots of fresh fruit which we were missing) and the dining area was full of neat decorating touches. There is a short, stunning hike you can do up the rock face just behind the inn and it would be a lovely place at sun-up or sundown.

A Hilltop Beauty With Modern Style
This was a fantastic find, perched on a hill overlooking Orvieto in a little hamlet with beautifully restored stone buildings. The owner, Giorgio, is charming and helpful. He had excellent suggestions for touring Umbria by car, how to see Orvieto, and where the best little local pizza place is (which by the way is excellent.) We drove directly from Misia to the Rome airport and dropped our rental car and flew home to Boston -- less than a two hour drive on a weekend morning. If you go to Misia make sure you climb the stairs to the top of the rock! Grazie Giorgio!

We had an amazing stay at Misia. We arrived on the late side and were welcomed with a glass of wine and George allowed us to join in their amazing dinner of sea food and more of the incredible local wine. Misia is an amazing inn and resort with an aesthetic that is soothing and relaxing. It was a wonderful way for us to end our trip in Italy.

Overnight stay in Orvieto
I only stayed overnight with a friend. The place is very beautiful and very nice rooms. The owners are fantastic as well as the cleaning staff. Helena and her brother own and run the resort and its very well put together and highly recommend it. Helena was very gracious to us during our stay and cant thank her enough for helping us when we needed it. Mind you its a bit outside of Orvieto In the countryside so its very much a getaway. Taxi could take 15 minutes to arrive or so to get to town from there. Bring some food and drink supplies if you just want some things in the room.

This is a beautiful restful exclusive hotel in a small settlement just outside Orvieto. There was not the expected spa or restaurant yet, which made the price a little high compared to my second choice nearby. However it was a very short drive to the restaurant at the nearby resort, and the meal was amazing.

Our stay is the best we've ever experienced in Italy. During this specific trip we couldn't stop talking about how comfortable and beautiful Misia was. Also, Giorgio suggested such amazing day trips. Rooms are big and comfortable, great bathroom, etc. Breakfast is very good. If you want to go to a restaurant for dinner you can go to Orvieto ( 10 to 15 minutes away) or at to other restaurants near by.
Beautiful Rock in a small but beautiful villa. From there you have beautiful views of Orvieto. You can also walk up to the top of the rock in a few minutes and get a view of Valleys and nearby towns. Rooms are big and comfortable, great bathroom, etc. Breakfast is very good. If you want to go to a restaurant for dinner you can go to Orvieto ( 10 to 15 minutes away) or at to other restaurants near by.

Lovely small hotel outside Orvieto
This is a small inn located in the countryside outside Orvieto. One needs a car and it can be a little difficult to find. However, it is very peaceful and quiet once you get there. The host is very welcoming and our room was very spacious. There is a bar, but no restaurant, so you'll have to drive to a restaurant for dinner.

This was the last stop in our trip to Italy and my only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. In stark contrast to the older rooms we'd stayed in throughout Italy, these rooms were new, with modern amenities, and brightly decorated. And although I adore Italy, their beds and pillows are terribly hard. But not these! The bed, pillows and linens at Misia were by far the most comfortable of our entire trip. The hotelier was so friendly and helpful, too. We would absolutely go back!

My fiancee and I only stayed one night at Misia but we definitely would have been happy to stay for longer. The hotel/resort was nestled in a tiny little hamlet not far from Orvieto and might be a bit tricky to find.
The room was clean, nicely decorated, spacious, light and airy. The window had a fantastic view of looking over one of many valleys of Umbria. The isolation of the location did mean some much appreciate peace and quiet. Check in/out were prompt and the included breakfast was satisfying if not particularly extraordinary.
If we were staying longer in order to do some wine staying in the area Misia would make a great home base.

Beautiful Boutique Hotel in Orvieto Hillside
We were a little nervous at first trying to find Misia...but once we arrived we were in love! Giorgio and Helena were so sweet and welcoming! The location is breathtaking, we only stayed for one night because that is all that our schedule would allow. We love Misia so much that we have booked TWO nights this time to return 1 year later...almost to the exact date. We can't wait!!

Great views near the top of Ovierto
We loved the drive up and the views from the hotel. The room was nice, clean and had everything we needed. We even had a wine cooler!! The owner was gracious and helpful with our dinner plans. She welcomed us and made us feel at home immediately. She recommended a great ristorante for dinner in Ovierto and it exceeded our expectations. The landscape and walking paths around the resort are gorgeous. We are planning a return trip and will not hesitate to stay here again.

Charming and elegant for such a secluded location
Not easy to find without GPS but more than worth the effort. Owner Giorgio makes you feel welcome immediately with great coffee or wine, about which he is both knowledgeable and proud of the local wines. Breakfast room is elegant, all white, and a much better range of offerings than almost anywhere else we've stayed. Don't make the same mistake we did, we only booked for one night and hated to leave. Five stars aren't enough! And nearby Orvieto is highly underrated in comparison to the Tuscan hill towns further north.

Excellent hotel with wonderful rooms and views. I'm so glad we booked this hotel; it's a lovely retreat. I didn't realize it was quite so isolated from the town, so you need a car. We were able to book a restaurant quite close to the hotel but it's hazardous walking in the dark at night. Fortunately we met another couple with a car who gave us a lift; otherwise I don't think we would have had food options.

Wonderful stay in the Umbrian hills
Loved our stay at Misia. Up in the hills with gorgeous views of Umbria, Orvieto and the surrounding area. A little difficult to find at first, but we had a rental car with navigation and that helped tremendously. Giorgio was amazing, incredibly friendly and so helpful with recommendations. The breakfast was delicious and a good mix between the standard light Italian breakfast and a true American breakfast. This was the perfect spot to get away from the crazy, crowded tourist areas and just relax in Italy. We will definitely be returning in the future and hope to share this gem with family and friends.

Wonderful country inn with easy access to Orvieto.
On our recent trip to Italy we stayed in several places and Misia was by far the best. it was a lovely place, outside the city, and very quiet. Helena was very helpful, she had maps available, and suggested some wonderful places to eat. She even made reservations for us. Osteria Numero Uno is a must for dinner. Misia is the place to stay if you don't want to stay right in the city,

Beautiful, modern, shabby chic hotel
The hotel is new (about 5 months old) and is beautiful! Not your typical European hotel room - big bed with great linens, a spacious bathroom with great ammenities and decorated beautifully.
It is about 10 minutes outside of town, but it was nice for a change of pace. The owner was actually terrific and drove us into town and picked us back up. It's nestles in a small quaint \"town\" (it was really a street with about 15 houses) that was wonderful to walk around and explore.
