La machine à café contenait un restant de liquide d'un invité précédent. La télé n'avait malheureusement que 7 canaux, contrairement à la chambre de la semaine précédente qui avait un nombre impressionnant de canaux disponibles.

La chambre a atteint les attentes. Propre et confortable.
L’attente pour faire l’enregistrement a été très long. 25min au téléphone à attendre d’avoir la ligne pour pouvoir accéder au bâtiment pour ensuite se rendre au comptoir d’accueil.
Je vais y retourner quand même étant donné le bon rapport qualité-prix, mais j’espère que l’accueil sera plus efficace la prochaine fois.

Poor communication and management.
I was given a parking discount code, but it doesn't work on the app and the QR code. The lady at the front desk doesn't know what to do, and I called the app's customer service, they also don't know. So I had to pay the full price. The second day, another person at the front desk told me that I need to pay at the machine, but there's no machine at the parking lot. The machine is actually at International Center, which is a different building. Took me at least 3 trips to the front desk to sort this out. Oh, and the front desk is also in a different building.
The room is clean, but small and a bit cold. The portable heater in the room is broken. Called room service, she asked me to drive to front desk to get another one. When I got there, the front desk is already closed. The next day, front desk told me that room service will handle this. Oh well... Will NOT stay here again.

Room was good, just very small bathroom and uncomfortable shower that had green shower tip. The rest room seemed clean and warm. Staff was fine, we were glad they worked till 11 pm. They spoke both French and English which is a big thing for Quebec City. We had issues with the cards accessing the campus area as the front desk person didn’t set fully up and we almost spent Christmas Eve on the streets, but likely we got helped by students staying on campus ( huge thanks!). It’s a decent place to stay a night or two, we stayed four. Transportation around was decent and you could use the tunnels to reach to the bus stop, we just didn’t know how so walked. Safe area and quite around. It was only loud in the room at nights when someone talked loudly on the phone at 2 am. In general good for a short stay!

C'était tellement froid. Qqun est venu voir le premier soir, à confirmer qu'il fedait froid, nous as dit je vous reviens, on est parti 2 jours plus tard sans aucune nouvelle. C'est vraiment platte parce que sinon c'est un excellent endroit.

Check-in was terrible - very confusing, and the receptionist had poor English (not her fault in a predominantly French province, but surprising given that a lot of guests will not speak French).
We were told we had to pay extra for a parking permit, and were sent on a wild goose chase around the huge campus to pay for and get a permit.
The building we were sent to was completely wrong and no-one knew anything - so we gave up and went into the city for sightseeing given our limited time.
We came back that evening to sort out parking - a different lady at reception with better English told us we had to scan a QR code in the parking lot where we were staying (about 1km from reception) and download an app and pay for parking on the app (very different instructions to what we were told before). She said it would cost $5 and we were given an 8-character discount code to qualify for 50% discount.
We drove to our accommodation building/parking lot, downloaded the app - the parking cost was $17.50 and the discount code invalid - it needed to be 6 characters.
It was too late (reception closed at 9pm) and we didn't want to risk having our car impounded by the company that patrols the car park, so we had little choice but to pay $17.50.
We had no energy to go to reception the next day and try to explain what happened and fight for a refund.
Very poor service.
Other than that, the room was great.

If you're fluent in French, this is a great place to stay.

The bed was not too clean. The dining area is located on the bottom floor, and was very inconvenient to go down everytime if I had to heat food. Plus, it has a shared fridge that is very small. Me and my friends had put our respective food in the shared fridge one night and the next morning everything was gone when we went to check. Shared area does not feel safe.

I have now stayed in both Building #2 and Building #3. Both were great but I did prefer Building #2. Rooms were exsctly as described and price was right. I would definirely stay again. I would bring a fan with me the next time as the weather was warmer at night than I expected.

The entire experience was unique. Upon check in we were assigned a room which was still occupied by two guests. We were reassigned a second room in another building nearby. We were given a parking pass for our vehicle and told we should park behind the building at parking lot # 2 for which there was no discernable parking sign, only signs that we could see for lots 1 & 3. We ended up parking in front of the other building. We expected the room to be modest as it was in a university dormitory, however; we did not realize upon booking that there was no air conditioning in the room. The ambient room temperature was like a sauna. Upon opening the two windows, moths & insects attracted to the light flew into the room as there was only one screen for one of the two windows. Upon mitigating the insects in the room we were forced to close the screenless window & endure the heat. Even a cold shower from the shared washrooms was not sufficient for a good nights sleep in the sweat box. I would definitely have appreciated a heads up in the room amenities section of the booking website, that rooms don't have air conditioning. Note: there are heaters in the rooms. It is true you get what you pay for & in this case a good price, but a sleepless night. In hind sight we would have made a different choice of accomodations. Kind Regards John

I was placed in what was obviously a women’s dorm and all the washrooms were locked and the key I had for my room would not work in any of them. How are you expected to stay with no washrooms (and is it even legal?) The rooms was like a sauna all night. Beware, this places does not meet even the most basic of accommodation needs.

I enjoyed the stay other than the blazing heat wave that was out of everyone’s control. A/C would’ve greatly improved our stay but other than that, the cleanliness could’ve been improved. We found a dirty facecloth and an old bar of soap. The main bed was missing a bottom sheet. Our bar of soap that we had purchased at a near by pharmacy was thrown out and wasn’t replaced which made us scramble when it was shower time. We were there a week and the amount that we saved allowed us to spend more time on activities around the city, which we enjoyed.

Rooms are tiny with uncomfortable beds. You must share a washroom and shower facility with others which means that the noise of others in the facility leaving their rooms and returning echoes throughout the night. Not a single air conditioner in the whole building and very poor ventilation which means that during a heat wave it is like sleeping in a greenhouse.

It was the first time in a long while that I took a university residence and I had a travelling partner. It was a little difficult ttfinding the building we were supposed to be in. but it worked out well. I stayed in Laval residence many years ago near the PEbs and a luncheon dining hall Pavillon Lemieux.

University residences offer some of the best values for travellers on a budget. This was my second time staying here and I will probably do so again when travelling solo, during the summer.
Keep in mind that it's a school residence, so amenities are few - the bathroom/shower can be a bit of a walk. The room was tidy and well made up.

We stayed in the room with two twin beds, and we do not recommend it. It looked more like a prison cell than a room rental. There was no air conditioning or fan, and only small windows that opened, so the room temperature was over 30 degrees. The walls are very thin and everything can be heard from the rooms nearby and in the hallway. As well, our room was next to the washroom and every time a toilet flushed there was a loud screeching sound.

The price may be ideal, but this was a bad stay for us.

The check in took longer then expected. But it was fine considering we only booked in excess of 2 hours before arriving. The room was clean, typical dorm room. It was HOT. But thats expected in a dorm in the summer. Its good for the price if you just need to sleep.

The property area is easy to navigate around and is only 20 minutes from \"old Quebec City.\" This part of the city is magical, especially with Chateau Frontenac in the background. The buildings the rooms are in are confusing to navigate. The building looks like it was built or renovated in the 1970s and hasn't seen a new piece of furniture or paint since that time. The rooms are small, which I didn't mind. There were 2 beds in my room. One was a Captain's bed and the other a tradional bed with a spring mattress lower to the floor. The decor was outdated and the furniture was old. The room was unbearably hot. I would not recommend this place. The noise in the hallway is crazy due to the thin walls. The doors used to enter the hallways open and close with a prison stuff clank that echoes down the hall to every room. The staff and students on campus are the only redeeming feature of this type of accommodation. If it weren't for the students I've encountered, or the staff working the front desk I would have given this place a worse score.

We booked double room and one bed was not comfortable at all. Whole building did not have air conditioner and even not has a fan during the summer time. We stayed that day was 30 degree outside. It was not really happy stay empierce. We know that University summer accommodations can be save some money, But it's not worth it.

The rooms had a strong unpleasant smell, which really affected the comfort of our stay and while the amenities were well maintained, they were shared, which wasn’t ideal. The check-in process was also quite slow. Overall, not the best experience.

I appreciated the affordable price of the stay. However, our room was located next to the toilet, and we could occasionally hear a loud noise when the sink was used at night. While the sheets looked clean, they had a noticeable human scent. I also didn’t receive clear instructions on how to collect the keys, such as which pavilion to go to or how to reach the reception without already having a key.

We arrived at 5pm. Entire building was too hot, smelled badly. There is no ventilation in rooms, no fans available. Left window open for 4 hrs in an attempt to cool space down while we went to visit a family member, made no difference. Room was still unbearably hot, we left at 915pm to find alternative accommodations.

an excellent hosteling / university stay choice at a budget. the room was clean as was the shared bathrooms, quarters are from an earlier time for sure, but we got a room on the north side and was able to take advantage of the windows to keep the room cool.

we enjoyed the use of the pool table, and the pyramid was in walkable distance.

check-in was great, and parking wasn't an issue.

Perfect location!

The location was perfect for a week of lecture at the University. The tunnel system permitted me to walk to my classes without going outside in the snow. Unfortunately, my room was next to a Shared Bathroom with a noisy door. The room was spacious and comfortable. Ideal for visiting students.

Check in was slow- waited a long time to be served. Room very basic. Hostel like quality - beds not particularly comfortable. No AC. No fridge. No TV. Small sink in room. Toilets and showers shared - one set on corridor. No kitchen or TV room on floor (or that we could find). No explanation of facilities available in residence block or on campus. Was not worth the money. My husband actually said he would rather have slept in the car.

Only positive - free parking close to accommodations.

The check in staff was great. The room was dingy, old metal cots in room, bed short-sheeted, the floor needed sweep mop, garbage on floor behind chair, there was a siren/fog horn nearby going off every 2 minutes, but I couldn't close the window- it was only source for fresh air. Too exhausted from long day travel to find another place to stay. It was much nicer than this last time I stayed here. Doubt I'll stay here again. Pity.

Decent place to spend a night in transit

Bare bones place to spend the night in transit. There is a sink in the room and then the toilets and showers are communal. We stayed there on both ends of our trip and found that it makes a difference which building you are placed in. This stay was fine, but our other stay not so much. Pavillon Ernest-Lemieux was clean and adequate. There is a coin-operated coffee machine and vending machines in the common room. Note there is no air conditioning and it was quite hot the night we spent there.
