The staff were so helpful and attentive. We were able to get into our room a little earlier which was great as we wanted to eat and get a rest before attending the opera. The room was very comfortable and I had the best nights sleep in a while. Our continental breakfast in the morning was delicious. Staff were thinking ahead to when we were leaving Milan to travel to Rome in case the Winter Olympics was an issue for us. Room was clean, bed very comfortable and the slippers were really welcome after a day on our feet. It was exciting to be staying in the Japanese teams hotel.

Everyone was courteous, helpful and friendly. The location was also perfect to a wide range of walking. The only suggestion I have would be to create a raise for the entry of the shower so the water doesn't leak under the shower door. We really enjoyed our stay and the staff.

Cannot say enough great things about this unique hotel. Wonderful spacious room with great views. Amazing walkable location to duomo and local dining. Great staff and breakfast. Thoroughly recommended. One tip for the management team though - your ferns in the window boxes obscure the view from the windows, might be time to trim them down or replace them with smaller ones !

We had a lovely, lift type room that was very spacious and it was well placed for the centre of Milan. However, the access through a strange little door into an unwelcoming lobby then up two flights isn’t stairs or an extremely small lift was very off putting. The staff weren’t particularly helpful either! This was not one for us

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The hotel however is more like various rooms in an apartment building so the staff has no control over the neighboring apartments. We had to move rooms the first evening because there was a huge party in an apartment next door to our room (the terrace room on the 3rd floor). We moved to a room next to the kitchen adjoining the lobby which was quieter but again adjoining the kitchen and lobby. They were nice enough to move us but the whole situation was unfortunate. I’ve stayed in the area many times but my previous hotel closed because the owner retired. As much as I don’t like writing bad reviews and as accommodating as the staff was, I wouldn’t recommend staying here regrettably.

If you want a locally run, charming hotel instead of the cookie cooker corporate hotels, this is for you. The building may be centuries old, but the rooms are spacious, modern and comfortable. Great location. Had a room w a terrace, which was an oasis in the city. It was comfortable and bright, and even had a kitchenette (didn’t use). The hotel is within a commercial/residential building. You need to walk up a small flight of stairs to get to a tiny elevator. It was ok for me but might not be for everyone.

Wrong Room Lied to No Apology
Did not receive the room that we booked! I specifically chose this hotel because it had a terrace and I booked a terrace room accordingly, but when we checked in and were shown to our room no terrace. I pointed this out to the clerk and was told there was \"a problem with the terrace and that this room was a free upgrade\". I reiterated again that I only chose this hotel because of the terrace and that I was not happy with the room, again I was told that there was a problem with the terrace that they couldn't fix due to lack of help and that this was \"a free upgrade\", as our car was parked on the street and we needed to move it and return it to the rental car company and we were tired from driving I didn't argue further. The next morning after a little investigating we found out that there was nothing wrong with the terrace and that all the terrace rooms were booked. When we expressed our displeasure to the morning desk clerk and pressed him on the matter we were told that only our room had a \"problem with the bathroom\"! We were never offered an apology and were lied to. I must add that my husband is native Italian and speaks fluently so language wasn't an issue. The sofa in our room was stained, the hotel was very hard to find because it isn't marked at all. We had to go into the hotels on either side of it (that did have signage to inquire) We stayed in 7 different hotels on our travels through Germany and Italy and this is the only one we wouldn't return to or recommend.

We did struggle to find the hotel as it is behind a rather anonymous door, but they had emailed us to warn us of this, so they did try! Once inside everything was great - welcoming and helpful staff, a clean room with a wonderful roof terrace, where we were offered our breakfast. Will definitely try to stay here again on future trips to Milan.

The location is amazing and the room with a balcony was great. Although breakfast is somewhat continental it was nice with home made cakes made by the stuff.

At the center of things, Duomo, Fashion District and restaurants all nearby, but the hotel is tucked away so it is quiet and discrete. We had a beautiful corner terrace room, I think it is the foto along side this note. Loved it.

Extremely inconvenient and aesthetically unappealing entrance. Fine once you manage to get buzzed in (after hours), find the stairway in the unattractive entryway; climb the stairs w/ your luggage; enter a seedy-looking (albeit totally safe )elevator; and make your way to the lobby. No breakfast until 7:30 (even in a weekday) so I had to skip mine. Basically, the place is *fine* but no more. Worth about $180/ night MAX. Not the $300 I spent.

I love this place. It is quietly tucked away, convenient to everything in Milan. The staff is excellent and the rooms and experience is sophisticated and unique, I discovered this hotel over 18 years ago when it was only one floor and a couple of rooms. They have expanded to three floors and have managed to not loose any of it's charm. No way will I be waiting another 18 years to return - it's too good to stay away that long !
