The private room with bathroom was pretty much like a hotel room. Came with towels, shampoo, and coffee/tea. The place is not for meeting people though. Just stay here for an amazing price and location.

This was an immaculate property. I had a private room and the shared toilets were sparkling clean. The women’s showers were completely renovated and clean, beautiful my room was darling. The whole place has been set up like a sweet little boutique in Europe as you would hope it was. It is literally two blocks from the metro station in a very safe little community. I loved it and I’m a human not a BOT or AI this place is a fabulous place to stay. If you don’t mind sharing a kitchen and bathrooms I highly recommend it for those of you traveling on a budget like I was. This is the best of the best.

The hotel is in a very convenient location, just about a 5-minute walk from the station. I didn’t realize it was located partially underground, so I was a bit surprised when I saw the floor map after arriving. Some rooms don’t have windows, but I was given a room with a window facing the main street. Because of that, I could see people walking right outside, and since it was Friday night, I could hear voices, drunk people passing by, and some traffic noise. However, it became quiet in the early morning, so it wasn’t a big problem.

I appreciated that there was a women-only shower room, and enough toilets so that it never felt inconvenient. After check-in, the bathrooms were very clean, though by the early morning they were a little less tidy since many people had used them. Overall, the room was clean, the price was reasonable, and the location was very convenient, so I was satisfied with my stay.

Nice shower room with good water pressure and fluffy towels. Nice staff. Great instructions for late check-in. Decent bed. Kitchen sufficiently stocked with supplies. Could use more places to hang items in room. Hostel is dark- no windows in hall, kitchen, or many rooms. Room was stuffy even though I could hear ventilation. No common area aside from kitchen.

This is the best hostel experience I have had, with cute private rooms, friendly staff, and a clean shared kitchen with everything you need to cook, make tea, etc. There are three grocery stores within a block or two, as well as great restaurants, and public transit. The staff let me check in early and made up a room for me around 11am, even when I had just asked to store luggage, which was very much appreciated! Would stay here again.

Clear instructions for smooth after hours check in. Zebra double ensuited room: Very clean, comfortable beds [linen provided & you make the bed yourself], quiet room, good shower pressure, fast hot water, big TV, many English language TV programs, pedestal fan, well equipped communal kitchen [no freezer], several nearby supermarkets, close walk to Skanstull Tunnelbana [Subway] station, helpful staff. Suitcases fit under the bed. Long daylight hours did not hamper sleep as hostel is one level underground, therefore no windows. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Tip to easily and cheaply reach Arlanda Airport using SL transport pass or single ticket:
1. Tunnelbana from Skanstull to T-Centralen takes 4 mins [ lines 17, 18, or 19 ]
then look for signs from the platform for Commuter Rail

2. Commuter Train from Stockholm City [ perhaps platform 1 or 2 ] to Marsta Station takes 37 mins

3. exit Marsta train Station to Bus stop A for Bus 583 towards Arlanda Airport takes 11 mins

Great stay

The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The bathroom and kitchen facilities were also great. The only down side was hearing drilling near our room at 8am in the morning one day.

Very compact single room, smartly designed, but you can’t help to feel that you are in a closet. For the price, i’m happy, as it offers private rooms at shared room rates. But if you have a bit more to spend, I would recommend splashing out a bit more. The kitchen is a good resource. The showers were okay.

I had a much better experience than expected there. I loved the design and atmosphere the owners created. It was full of friendly people to have a pleasant chat with. Just remember to start the conversation, as we're in an era of looking down at our mobile phones. There were loads of clever ideas, like a marking system for food with your name and leaving date. People remember to wash their dishes but for some reason forget to dry and put them away to leave the space free for the next person who needs a drying rack. Enjoy.

I had a single room with window. Perfect! (Except the bed was a bit uncomfortable:hard) but everything else was amazing! Room was quiet, private bathrooms outside the door, good kitchen down the hall and great private showers with giant rain head and lots of hot water. Everything was super! clean and plenty of room/availability of toilets/showers etc.

I don't leave reviews often, but this was a great place to stay, I felt inspired! I felt very safe as a solo female traveler. I had a private windowless room, it was small, but also comfortable and perfect for what I needed. The facility was very clean and quiet, but also had 2 common spaces to make friends if that's what you want. There were several bathrooms that were very clean and the showers had amazing water pressure. The surrounding neighborhood is cool, with good shops and restaurants, a little outside of central Stockholm, but the hostel is close to a metro location.

Stockholm in the Skanstulls area is a little raw. This is not a bad thing. There is a lot of great eating options and a supermarket in the railway tunnel that is open till 23:45.
The Skanstulls Boutique Hostel is mostly below street level so most rooms have no natural light and can be like a dungeon. The staff offered to shift us to a room with a window but we would have lost our private bathroom so we stayed where we were. It was clean and quiet and the kitchen was well appointed and managed. All in all a very good hostel.

Cute little hostel and enjoyed the privacy of own room but check in times were very short and on arrival it was quite difficult to navigate where to go/which entrance to go to. As the reception was closed, there was no one to answer the phone to help. Other than this it was a really lovely stay, great location close to the metro amd other nice restaurants and shops - I would recommend to others considering staying here :)

I stayed 4 nights in a private room. Everything was very clean and nice. The bathrooms are particularly good. Kitchen is excellent as well. Everything is really nicely decorated which helps give it all a cozy feel. The little room I had was well equipped, it even had a TV!

Great location too - right in the middle of SoFo and only a short walk to Gamla Stan.

Only thing I would say is that reception isn’t open very often. This wasn’t a problem at all for the private room (and they have a very good system for check in when reception is closed). But, this would probably put me off staying in one of the dorms with no one on hand to deal with more disruptive individuals.

The location is great, really close to an underground station. Room was small but comfortable. Toilets were a bit smelly but other than that, everything was ok.

I definitely enjoyed my stay here! Definitely will recommend for those without much preferences. Bedroom and toilets were really clean upon arrival, although we had to lay our bed linens ourselves on top of the additional charges for change of towels/linens.
It wasn't too cold/warm in the room, and every room had some sort of fan in it. A plus for me was the communal kitchen with free pasta and coffee, and everyone living here + the staffs did a great job in keeping our shared space clean and tidy!

The Skanstulls Hostel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The
breakfast buffet was good with plentiful options and so was the Vietnamese coffee. The location was also quite good, only a couple of blocks from the subway station and within walking distance from the port. There also quite many ethnic restaurants as well as supermarkets and bakeries within a few blocks.

The property is very close to a train station, and in general, if you like walking a lot, it won’t be an issue walking to most of the key places and attractions. The staff are incredibly friendly and the check in/check out/leaving the place at night is very easy. The room where we stayed was really pretty, with minor imperfections, such as the soap dispenser slightly broken or a small hair hanging from it. I personally don’t care too much about things like that.
Overall very pleased with the stay apart from one thing that I was afraid of - the kitchen is shared and I was worried that something would happen to the food we’d store in the fridge. However, everyone who used the kitchen seemed to clean up after themselves and follow the general rules, so we decided to keep our food there anyway. We marked it with our name and date of check out and packed some of it for the day we were leaving. When we came to the kitchen at 6am, we couldn’t find some of our food that we bought the night before and then it was found in the bin. So that was really sad - it was perfectly good (and, in fact, expensive) food, with a date marked exactly the same way as our other items, yet someone decided to bin it. That kind of ruined the day.

Upon arrival the resceptionsit was extremely rude un helpful with reagrds to sorting out alternative arrangements. The last thing anybody needs in a foreign country is to be without accommodation! And i was in that position on the day of arrival. I do not recommend anyone to book with this hostel as you will be very disappointed

Good experience. Was easy to find from the airport and easy access to the metro. Quick train ride to Gamla stan. Staff was friendly, kitchen was very well equipped. Grocery store across the street, and plenty of restaurants nearby. Rooms are sound proofed well and never had to wait on the washrooms or shower. Would stay again, and would recommend to others.

The bed was very comfortable and facilities were really good. Showers are fantastic. Conveniently located near train and bus stops. 10 minutes to the city centre (30 minutes walk) by train. Lots of food options close by, as well as, supermarkets.

This hostel is comfortable and has all the amenities you need for your stay in Stockholm! It's super close to a metro stop and is near many restaurants, cafes and grocery stores. It's also easy to walk to the old town from the hostel. Would definitely stay here again!

I thought this place was great. My only gripe is with the bunk beds. I was on the top but the ladder spacing was weird and the mattress extended over it making it really tricky to get up there. Other than that it was comfortable, clean and conveniently located.

Great place to stay in a great neighborhood

This is the strangest - and best hostel I've ever stayed in. I had a private room with bath - lavishly decorated with flea market antiques and red flocked wallpaper. Bath had a shower with both a handheld and rain shower heads - you rarely find that even in \"upscale\" hotels. Very comfortable, great staff, large lounge and separate kitchen and dining room, library and washers dryers. Neighborhood is a lot of fun with good restaurants and shops nearby. Subway is two blocks away. One drawback - the hostel is entirely in a basement so if you need windows it might not be for you.

5mins walk from subway station, 20mins to Glan stan. Room is nice, staffs are kind. fully equipped kitchen.

Few things need to improve are the design of toilet, the bath curtain doesnt touch the floor, water goes around and half of toilet is wet after bathing. And I think if more hooks in the toilet for hanging cloth and towels will be good.

We first researched places to stay in Sweden online and came across Skanstulls Hostel. They had a private bedroom option with private bath and it looked nice online. After checking in, we were surprised to find out that linens and towels were an extra fee. The room was small and had not been cleaned properly. The complimentary water bottle in the room was opened by the last guest then refilled and recapped, the bathroom drain had clumps of hair and there was also hair stuck to the bathroom walls. The sheets were laying on the foot of the bed and we had to put the sheets on ourselves along with the duvet cover and pillow case. There was also a bit of blood on the sheets. The price of the room was about $90 USD per night and for that price, there are much better options. I knew that the hostel was a limited service hotel, but did not expect what we encountered. That staff was nice though.

Clean hostel in convenient location

This hostel has a few room-types available -- I stayed in a small single room. The hostel, room and WCs all clean; it's easy to reach from the Arlanda airport and is a short walk (~6 minutes) from the nearest metro stop; restaurants, shops and bars nearby. I would recommend to folks traveling alone (or with a small group) needing a cheap place to crash.

Room had everything you needed. Individual plugs to charge your phone etc. Beds were really comfortable, I slept brilliantly. Every bed has a locker so safe place to store posseions. Hostel was clean except for the odd bit of mess in the loo's, but nothing major. Really well decorated, has a cosy feel to it. All in all a really great place to stay.

Nice hostel and very close to metro

Very close to metro, i think for around 5 mins. But you have to go a little bit downstairs for getting in. If you are decided to cook by yourself, a big supermarket is nearby as well. Concerning WiFi, the connection is really really well!!! So it's a nice hostel overall.

Fab hostel for singles, couples and groups

Haven't got enough good things to say about this hostel - rented a bed in a 8 person dorm and couldn't have been more comfortable under those circumstances - the rooms are cleverly laid out to maximise privacy and the showers! Oh lord, the showers were a thing of beauty.
The wifi is also excellent, and the kitchen has everything you need with a great sociable dining area as well. I stayed during peak season, but it still felt as though there were les people around, which gave the place an intimate feel, which I greatly appreciated. There was always a different member of staff at the reception, but every single one of them was friendly and ready to answer any questions I had to the best of their ability. Very professional.
The area is brilliant - on trendy Södermalm, with Skanstull underground station about a two minute walk away, but walking down Götgatan for about twenty minutes would easily and quickly get you to Slussen and Gamla Stan for the shopping and culture in the centre. Walkin in the opposite direction for about ten minutes would also get you to Nytorget, which is a fab shopping district to have a browse for vintage items or just fika at the dozens of cafes along the stretch.
Useful also - there's a small ICA (supermarket) just across the road from the hostel that's open until eleven pm.

'OK stay'

Stay was ok. Basic room but they have great storage near the bed accessible by your card. Showers were communal style but that was fine. Overall ok place

Great Hostel

The Location is great, is not in the City Centre but you can walk there in 45 minutes or so (and get to see some awesomeness from Stockhom) or take the Metro (100 metres from the hostel) and be there in less than 20 minutes.

The staff was really nice, I got there too early and tired and since my bed was already empty they let me do an early check-in. The beds are comfortable and despite having to dal with somebody elses snorrs or packing/unpacking noises you get a good rest. The kitchen is super cozy and the bathrooms and showers were always clean.

Would recommend.

Service: Hostel was fully booked the first night and I had forgotten to include a request for a bottom bunk. Staff offered a solution that made me happy (pay difference and take a single bed until the bottom bunk opened up).

Single room: small, bed was really comfortable, could not really move around or put my suit cases down flat, but that's fine.
Dorm with 4 beds: Also small, but bigger than the single room. Bed was alright, still fairly comfortable. Absolutely no issues and the storage lockers were a decent size (backpack sized and then some) for valuables.

Staff was helpful, location was next to a metro station. I liked the key system and the night entrance was well located. Not accessible if you are unable to use stairs.

Average stay - tiny rooms - great staff

Room was REALLY small with 5 beds and it was very difficult to get up to the top bunk. Hardly anywhere to store your luggage. There was few power points in the room, and a shelf by the top bunk would have been appreciated (ie to put your phone on so it doesn't fall). The showers were kind of icky, although I know they were cleaned daily. The toilets & sinks were very clean so that was good. Kitchen was nice but small. No other common space. The staff was very nice & helpful. Would probably not stay here again - value paid for the room I was in was not worth it, but I booked fairly last minute.
