The curtain was not a blackout curtain so eye masks are helpful. Sometimes there was an early garbage truck so good to have ear plugs. Loved the room and decor. Beds were very comfortable.

The check in reception guy made our day. He had already locked up to go home for the night, I asked him if we could get 2 coke zeros and he gladly reopened everything and we got our cokes. He didn’t have to as he was almost out of the building. Thank you for the stay it was wonderful highly recommend the location as well.

We stayed here to visit the Christmas markets in Gamla Stan and it was great! Very easy to get where we needed to go and lots of dining options nearby. It’s truly in the heart of the old town. The building is old, which is fine, but the upkeep was lacking. That’s not a complaint, just an observation because truly it didn’t affect our stay. It just wasn’t the nicest place we’ve ever stayed. The staff was fantastic. Helpful and kind. Getting there from the train was a bit tricky with our luggage. We took a taxi out which was a bit easier. We’d stay here again and recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Gamla Stan.
Go to House of Smörgåsbord for dinner just up the road. It’s the best local food we had in Sweden!

Reception said they would stay open til 10PM to accommodate late check-in. We arrived at 9:50 and they were gone. Luckily, another customer let us in the building, otherwise we would have had to find another hotel at 10PM. Also, hotel lost power for a few hours, and there was no offer of any kind from the hotel for the inconvenience.

Breakfast not available, but good choices nearby. We would have liked wash cloths and a bath mat. Curtains in room needed repair and not effective at blocking street lights and did not give privacy.
Location was excellent for public transportation and sightseeing.
Host was very helpful arranging taxi to airport.

It's not a hotel, it's a hostel, the \"City view\" is the wall of the next building, the shower in our room is horrendous, no matter how you would seal the curtain on the sides and on the floor, the water leaks ALL OVER THE BATHROOM every single time we took a shower, and their solution: they provide you with a squeegee for you to clean, I would never go back to this hotel. Rude manager too.

Great location and clean.

This hotel was in a great location and the room was very large. It was clean and basic and the bed was comfortable. They communicated through messages mostly. Someone was there when I checked-in and otherwise I never saw anyone around the front desk. It's good for a do-it-yourself experience. I recommend it mainly for the location and if you're a family the rooms with bunk beds could be very useful.

I had a twin room, which was a great size and clean with towels provided and complimentary slippers. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the option to leave our luggage after checkout was great. It’s an old building, so some areas were worn, but it was part of the charm. It’s close to the harbour as well as cafes, restaurants, shops, art galleries and historical places of interest, such as the Royal Palace. I’d definitely stay here again!

Given it's location right in the historic district and the price, I shouldn't complain, yet it surprised me that coffee in the lobby requiia separate payment. Given it's price, it could've just as well been included. Other minor nuances included having to wait at check in, no shampoo in the bathroom...things like that, but good overall.

Great location! Great stay!

Our stay at The Castle House Inn, Stockholm, was a great place to stay. The staff was warm, friendly, and accommodating. Thelocation was walking distance to many tourist attractions, food, and shopping. And the history of Gamla Stan is incredible! If we make it back to Stockholm, we will definitely say there again.

Perhaps one of the cleanest hotels I have been in. Beds were comfortable, linens were lovely. Beautiful building inside and out. The shared bathrooms were somewhat smelly, but perhaps that is to be expected.

I liked how all the beds were twins so you could separate them for kids or keep them together for a larger bed for adults, I did NOT like the bathroom at all though. The toilet was basically in the shower and after your shower you had to squeegee the water down the drain. It was definitely odd! It was very loud outside our room especially early in the morning, we were woken up around 05:00-06:00 by loud trucks every day of our stay

Large room with three beds and a window that opened. Perfect sightseeing location for 3 nights. Bath was pretty small but functional. Typical shower that gets water all over the floor. Cool old building undergoing some renovation in the main entrance. We were undisturbed and check-in was friendly and efficient.

The room was fairly clean but the beds were very worn out and uncomfortable. But the worst aspect was that the rooms were unbelievably hot and stuffy. The thermostat in the room did not work and there was zero air flow. I laid awake until 3:00 am each night sweating and waiting for the room to get cool enough and for me to get sleepy enough to fall asleep. I would suggest you spend a bit more and stay somewhere else

This is a lovely hotel in a great location. It needs just a few changes to be great overall. They do not have hand towels or wash cloths. It would have been nice to have these. The WiFi was very weak. The window covering is very thin and see through. With the lights outside and the sun coming up at 4:00 am the room was never dark enough for sleeping. A blackout shade would be easy to add. The bathroom could use some shelves. And there needs to be a lip at the base of the shower. With no lip the water from the shower goes all over the bathroom. A squeegee is provided but it would be nice to have the water contained.

The property is in a wonderful location. Walk to everything. Staff was helpful and available. Things were basic but clean. Room was good size for Europe. Shared bathroom was ok and easy to get an individual stall for shower, sink and toilet, but there was a smell -perhaps as the building is older. Otherwise very pleased . Breakfast spot they recommend is fab.

Great place. Was given problem re checking in late, though I let them know well ahead of time. Travellers are often under a lot stress, as I was, and there was no need to compound it. It's not easy finding yourself in the middle of a new city, trying to find a hotel, with no wifi, nothing open, and not even sure whether you'll be able to access your reservation. A bit more sensitivity would come in handy. That said, the staff were helpful in other areas, finding a laundry spot, extending my stay a night. Towels are provided - why not a few bars of soap? I try to carry such things but I would think soap at a place such as this would be a given. Great location, wonderful spot end of street for breakfast. Old Stockhom is gorgeous, don't miss the Vasa! So many museums. And oh yes, read the fine print, which I clearly didn't: no outside food or drink. So forget that six-pack and burger and fries.

Our flight arrived at 10:30pm. There front desk closes at 9:30pm therefore I emailed in advance letting them know. They confirmed and noted that there’s a $50 usd late check in fee between 9:30-12am, which is fine since we had no choice.
We arrive to the hotel at 11:15pm, called the front phone, emailed them to no response. Standing out front with my family and no where to stay. We had to scramble for another hotel.
I don’t know how the hotel accommodation is but with this service after confirming they will be there left an awful taste. Please be aware if landing into Stockholm late

Place was great, it was walking distance from restaurants, bars, stores and the metro. I would stay here again. My brother, my son and I stayed here to see Kent live at 3Arena and it was very easy to get there from Gamla Stan.

This was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had, and I didn’t even stay for more than an hour. Despite their claim of a ‘no smoking’ policy, the entire building, including the room, reeked of smoke. As someone with asthma, this was not only unacceptable but dangerous for my health.

To make matters worse, the balcony window in the room was shattered, making it clear that this is not a safe or well-maintained property. I immediately requested a refund, but they flat-out refused and showed no concern for the health and safety issues I brought up.

Their dismissive attitude and lack of accountability are appalling. I even recorded the condition of the room and the shattered window as proof. If you value your health, safety, and money, avoid this place at all costs. Absolutely unacceptable!

Perfect location. Even the taxi driver who drove us from the airport to this place on the day of our arrival in Stockholm commented that this was the best location! Great location right in the old town. Disappointed by this hotel. On our final day I woke up to an insect in the bed. I had also overhead a couple the night before complaining at reception about insects in their room, so this is obviously an issue at this hotel. I would have mentioned it at checkout but wasn’t asked how the stay was or anything like that, just ‘thank you goodbye‘ which I think says a lot. Feels more like a hostel than a hotel. Hotel felt secure with multiple keycard locked doors to access rooms.

There was nothing \"wrong\" with the hotel but it wasn't better than OK either. Especially for the price which, compared to other hotels, was reasonable but, after staying and experienceing the place first hand, was far too expensive.

We don't need a large room but for a double, the size and ameneties in the room were very poor. One small desk and a few hooks were all we had for our stuff for a 3 night stay. The bed area ws so small one could barely get out if it without banging into the wall. And the bed was not very comfortable or supportive.

The cleanliness was OK but there was a bit of mold in the shower area of an otherwise spacious bathroom that however had no shelf and only offered two, rather small, bath towels.

While the location in Gamla Stan was exactly what we wanted and, for the most part, the street noise wasn't too bad, early in the morning, the garbage and delivery truck noise was quite loud.

It was not a bad place but, I would not stay here again.

A great central location and very comfortable room that was exceptionally quiet. There was a problem at check in as I was given a room without private bathroom but when I returned to Reception to point out that I had booked a room with en-suite this was corrected with an apology. I particularly liked the fact that over a five night stay I was left entirely to myself to come and go as I pleased without any interaction with hotel staff. I really enjoyed that privacy

Good location once access was figured out for check-in. Good sized room and pillows. Linen was clean. Shared bathrooms were very busy on weekend days we were there in the bathrooms were all occupied and front desk asked they said we would just need to wait for a toilet otherwise fine availability on other days. Front desk service was mixed. I suggest a water dispenser for guests as the vibe seemed to go between hostel/hotel with some shared services and some priced things which seemed illfitting.

Great location, incredibly central, however there are loud trucks that pass by on certain days super early in the morning. Bathroom could use some shelves for toiletries. Water splashed basically everywhere all the time while showering. The room we got was a surprise in how small it was, but for two people it worked ok! Can’t beat the location and how close it is to the palace, cathedral, museum island, and shopping areas. We walked everywhere!
