Great staff, location right next to the skating, restaurant had a great food and ambiance. Highly recommended. Note: we had a room on the top floor facing out, while small was unique in positive ways and also very quiet.

This is an excellent hotel, especially if it is your first time in Stockholm. It is centrally located and just a 15-20 min walk to almost anything you want to do. It’s quiet at night and the included breakfast is amazing, as other reviewers noted. I would value it at least around $20 so consider that when thinking about the room price. It’s scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, bacon, sausages, pancakes, cold meats and cheeses as well as fish. Importantly, hotel staff are extremely helpful pointing out cool things to see and do in the city. Elsa, with the breakfast crew, helped me learn some Swedish and nudged me to go on a great day trip to Uppsala. I would happily recommend this place to friends and family.

This hotel is an excellent choice when staying in Stockholm. Close to amenities and attractions with comfortable, clean rooms with various configurations to choose from. A shout out to Kiki on the front desk who was brilliant at giving us ideas for places to eat and to visit. Recommendations to future visitors - take advantage of the front desk / concierge to help with arranging tour and transport bookings. They are really helpful with good local knowledge. I hope to return to Stockholm and this hotel one day.

This was an excellent choice in every way. So comfortable and quiet for a great sleep. Outstanding staff. Breakfast complete with smoked salmon, meatballs etc etc etc. And wonderful pastries! The ambient setting is beautiful, as if one were dining outdoors. There are comfortable seating options outside the front door where one can relax and enjoy unlimited cappuccinos. The location is 1 minute subway stop from Stockholm Central Train but I preferred taking the T Central Tram/Bus minutes longer, which stops next door at King’s Garden Park, my favorite place to cool down with a cold beer while watching happy children play in the large shallow pool with water geysers a plenty. The old scenic town and the upscale shopping areas are just minutes away. A day trip using public ferries to Vaxholm can’t be beat. The deeply discounted senior 24 hr transportation pass (110 Kr) is a wonderful bargain. Truly a fantastic two days!

Short stop over in Stockholm

We have stayed at this hotel before and it provides us with just the right amount of comfort, in a very good location, in the centre of Stockholm, especially as it is only 15 minutes walk from the Arlanda Express.
The staff are always friendly and helpful.

I only spent a short night at Hotel Kungstadgarden. I wish I had stayed longer. It's a friendly, elegant hotel in a quiet, yet central location. I had an attic level room, which meant a sloping ceiling that limited walking space a bit -- but that was more than okay because the room had no much character, not to mention a great view. Would love to stay here again. The glass elevator soaring above the restaurant and lobby is another special touch.

It’s been ages since I arrived early & bleary off a transatlantic flight, and a hotel ***actually put me in a room right then and there*** instead of putting me in baggage check purgatory. These folks very kindly took care of me right away, so I could shower and get settled in before heading off into the day. Wow! Such a difference this made for me!
Also: the sauna is gorgeous and the gym very pleasant.
Good breakfast.
Quiet, beautiful, convenient location.

I had a wonderful stay here! The location is well-connected for traveling by bus and metro or exploring the city on foot. The staff was excellent, and other guests were kind, too. The room was compact and complete, and street noise was minimal, even on New Year’s Eve. I hope to return one day!

Location Location Location -Boutique hotel in the centre of Stockholm hidden down a cobble stone street. Backing onto the King’s Garden where a stroll in the snow was such a pleasant activity for me daily. Watching the ice skaters from the gorgeous communal lounge-room was so pleasurable.

Hotel Kungsträdgården would be one of the most beautiful boutique hotels I have ever stayed in through my extensive life long travels all over the world.

Right from my arrival I was met at the doors as I exited the taxi by the lovely concierge Kiki. Kiki greeted me with such warmth and professionalism I felt like old friends. Checked in Kiki explained the different levels of the hotel and how I may like to use them and also provided some interesting history in regard to the hotels heritage listing.
My room was beautifully appointed with a huge heated bathroom and was more than an adequate size for a single person for 5 nights.

The breakfast buffet was extensive and well executed , delicious.

Overall I rate Hotel Kungsträdgården a 10. Thank you to everyone at the hotel who contributed to such a wonderful stay and introduction to your beautiful country Sweden and city of Stockholm.

This is a unique independent hotel within an 18th century town residence built for an aristocrat. Rooms vary in size from singles to suites, but each includes a hearty breakfast from a buffet. Apart from its discreet location close to major Stockholm sights and shopping, a major plus is the wonderful staff, including a very knowledgeable concierge and front office manager.

Stockholm is an amazing city with so much to do. Swedes are real foodies and shopping is great. So many sights. Nordic Museum was fantastic.
Walking round the little islands and visiting the lovely cafes is a great way to soak up the sites.

The staff was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. When we first arrived the concierge made several dinner recommendations and then made all the reservations for us. The hotel had an old world feel despite being very up to date. The breakfast was very good and had a lot of options. We had to leave for the airport before breakfast and the front desk clerk gathered up some food and drinks for us. All in it was a wonderful stay.

One of the prettiest hotels I’ve ever seen. Spectacular/posh neighborhood. Great staff. Very clean and all rooms are in excellent condition— which are the MOST important things to me. Only downside is the basic rooms are VERY small — like, so small that the shower door has to literally fold in half just so you can get out the bath (but frankly, I don’t care at all about room size and you can upgrade to a larger suite if you want—though, it’ll be pricey!)

Only thing we did not like was that we had a room on the 7th floor, and it must have been near the attic/roof so there were two sloped ceilings quite low in the room and my wife and I hit our heads on it a half dozen times. Loved the restaurant, and Reception folks were outstanding and helped us a lot.

The location of this property is great. Close to the train station, easy to walk to all the main attractions, etc. It also is very pretty with lovely decor, ambience, etc.

However, the room they put us in had the worst bed bug infestation I could imagine. This was also my very first experience with bed bugs and it was completely unexpected. We didn't even noticed there were bed bugs until we woke up the next morning and saw them everywhere.. lots of tiny ones in the sheets and VERY large ones on the headboard and even the walls. We were both mortified and incredibly surprised based on the great reviews and rankings of this hotel..

Ultimately, I expected a refund. This is an expensive hotel, especially in the summer time and it was a huge inconvenience to have to deal with. But after several calls and emails it ended with the hotel saying that bed bugs are normal and that the percentage of them in Stockholm is high, etc. They wouldn't refund us but did offer to give us a free two night stay next time we are in Stockholm. But the chances of us being in Stockholm again are very slim and we obviously would never stay here after this experience.

I did give this hotel 2 stars instead of 1, because maybe this is largely uncontrollable and happens a lot and therefore we can't blame them? I don't know, but I wouldn't risk booking this hotel. Bed Bugs really put a damper on a vacation...

Some of the cab drivers had difficulty finding the hotel as the entrance is on a small side street through the outdoor seating area for the brasserie so familiarize yourself with the map before you go. Wonderful atrium restaurant/bar area converted from an alley between two buildings. Great buffet breakfast. This hotel will be my choice for our next trip to Stockholm.

Highly recommend this hotel. We stayed for a day while on our way to Norway. The hotel is in a central location and very near to the royal palace and old town. We really appreciated getting early access to our room. It is a lovely hotel and the staff is very nice and quickly responsive to issues that might arise. The location is fantastic: within walking distance to the old town and across the park from two Hop On Hop Off stops. For a comparatively inexpensive rate in an incredibly expensive city, you also get a wonderful breakfast included. The quality of the TV in the room is excellent, and the bed and pillows are extremely comfortable. Lots of wall sockets for your electricals. So there are lots of positives. But the room is TINY – I mean, no room to even open your suitcase (there are larger rooms for a higher price). There is virtually no storage available for your clothes, making a stay beyond one night impractical. The air conditioning did not cool our room and the temperature only went up, not down. The bathroom amenities are hit or miss: nice soft robes included, but no shampoo (!). This was a first for us. Liquid soap is offered for the shower but, without a loofah, is not ideal and a bar of soap would have been nice. Small problem with asking for another towel and being brought a pillow instead, but this is minor. But really the problem is what many have cited for this property: the room size. It is unreasonable to expect two people (and even one person) to be able to bring suitcases into the room, there is nowhere to put your clothes, and there is practically no space between the end of the bed and the wall.

This is a very attractive hotel in the heart of Stockholm, composed of two old buildings with a glazed courtyard. The double room we had was described as 'small' on the booking, but was rather smaller than expected. The bed was comfortable and the linen of high quality. The third floor drawing room was a lovely facility to have open to guests. The staff were helpful and thoughtful.

Well if that was available you should have given it to me instead of giving me your worst room

This property has all the amenities of a big international chain but has the added bonus of being utterly charming in every way. Unlike a big chain, the staff are very personable and go the extra mile to make sure you have a pleasant stay. The decor, even in the interior single rooms, is beautiful and well thought out. I stayed in a single room and it was a very well designed small space - had everything I needed and was very comfortable. The location can not be beat - easy walk to tourist hop on off busses, the old town, the central train station etc. Right by the hotel is a lovely park with restaurants and music events. I highly recommend this property - I had a fantastic stay!

The room was well appointed and very comfortable and very quiet, with a large double shower, double sinks and heated tile bathroom floors and towel racks. The hotel is excellently located close to the old town and other attractions. The breakfast buffet was excellent and conveniently offered through 11 AM. The room is located on the ground floor with the bedroom and bathroom windows opening on to the interior glass covered atrium/adjacent restaurant seating area at eye level. This required keeping the drapes closed during occupancy, which is not unusual for any small hotel with street overview from other buildings. Overall, I fully enjoyed the room, and the hotel in general.

Room on top floor was thoroughly comfortable, clean, quiet and with a terrific shower (especially for Europe). Location was perfect. Breakfast buffet was very fresh and consistently good (stayed 3 nights). And value booking on hotel’s website, off-season, could not have been better.

Fantastic hotel and great management!

The hotel is super romantic and nice. The staff friendly and welcoming. The location couldn’t be better.
One night at the restaurant, which has exquisite food, I had to wait rather long for the food. I provided that feedback to the management and later that night someone knocked on my hotel room door with champagne and a handwritten letter from the managing director thanking me for the feedback! What a great way to deal with a “complaint” - kudos to you Jürgen and team.
I highly recommend this hotel and I look forward to going back!

First time in Stockholm so helpfulness of the staff was greatly appreciated- they suggested restaurants, sights to see, tranportation info and much more. Great location, perfect room, and one of the best all-included breakfasts we have had. Highly recommend.

The Hotel was absolutely perfectly located. Everything about the hotel was delightful. The staff could not be nicer. A big Thank you to Sophia at the front desk. My only suggestion is not to book the small rooms on the first floor. Way to small, we changed to a king room, that was stunning.

Splendido hotel di proprietà francese (e tutto infatti ricorda la Francia) situato in un’ottima posizione , silenziosa, tranquilla e ad un passo da tutte le principali attrazioni della città.
Eleganti e raffinate le camere (splendidi gli accostamenti di colori) anche se un po’ piccole (almeno la mia).
Colazioni ricche e per tutti i gusti.
All’interno dell’hotel una bella brasserie; non l’ho provata ma tutto faceva pensare si mangiasse molto bene.
Vivamente raccomandato.

Wonderful location near the harbor and walking distance to most of the sites we wanted to visit + the staff was very helpful during our stay - we stayed here when we first arrived in Stockholm, then visited Gothenberg, then back here before leaving for home.

Norweigen Airlines \"lost\" one of our suitcases for two days and the staff was extremely helpful in solving this problem !!!!!!!!!

We were originally supposed to stay two nights at the hotel, but an unexpected death in the family forced us to cancel the second night. The staff was accommodating to our dilemma. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about our room. We opened the door to our room to find that the ceiling was extremely slanted, to the point of having to bend over just to get on one side of the bed. The room had no water bottles, and the number of towels was limited to one full-size towel per person. In addition, the skylights did not have any sort of shade on them, and the building next door's lights made it virtually impossible to sleep. The next morning, my wife wanted to get some breakfast to go as we had to scramble to get to the airport. The server was not very friendly, and they lacked any sort of container which made bringing the food quite a mess. I did enjoy the heated floors in the bathroom, and the staff did make some good recommendations for restaurants later night. Also, the hotel is situated close to Old Town and a mall next door. All-in-all, I would probably not use this hotel again should I return to Stockholm.
