We have stayed in Junior Suite for one night. The room exceeded our expectations. It was renovated, very well kept.

There were queues during the breakfast for serving the food, though there were plenty of tables to sit at. The restaurant seemed a little bit crowded.

We gad a great experience. Recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, but it was very crowded, especially with children. We tried to have a nice,formal dinner one evening, but children just started to scream and yell and play hide and go seek around us. The mother and father nearby seemed unbothered. We enjoyed the privacy of our room, and the fact that there was a balcony off from the room, which allowed us to have hot tea and enjoy the scenery.

More like \"4-star class\" wish hotel...

General – the hotel is nowhere near the 4-star class, chronically understaffed, and has significant maintenance issues.

Firstly – the parking was impossible, and neither was the valet. We spend at least 15 minutes trying to find someone to help us with parking… The staff is nice, but whoever is on call is pulled in 10 different directions and can not be available to all the customers simultaneously.

Secondly – when we finally made it into our room, both mini fridges were out, one of the AC remotes was missing, and our phones weren’t working (we couldn’t call reception, concierge, or any of the restaurants on the property). Every issue or request resulted in a lengthy trip across buildings and staying in line to talk to the receptionist (very frustrating). The night before, we stayed in the Presidential Suite of Mercure Sigishoara, which was cheaper (140 euros /night), comparable in size, and had none of the issues.

Thirdly - we contacted the management and Hotels.com, and almost (we got a bottle of warm champagne and a cheese plate) nothing was done to rectify the situation. So, unless this is hotel of \"last resort\" -- simply AVOID IT.

Lastly, I want to commend Alexandru, who was extremely helpful and tried to go out of his way to help us out. He is the only one who made us feel welcome.

Very nicely managed hotel. Service desk and everyone in the office is very pleasant and happy to help. Good size room, beds are comfortable and bathroom is good sized and clean. Breakfast buffet is very rich and tasty. So many items to choose from and coffees and drinks are good as well. I was impressed by everything at Alpin Resort and I will definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful time in Poiana Brasov. Good work everyone. Thank you for making our stay very enjoyable.

Very disappointing, bad experience.

The room was not clean, bad smell + cigarettes smell during the whole night (non smoking room), noisy party until 05:00AM, the hot dishes at breakfast were cold, rotten cucumbers that I wouldn’t dare to serve, the parking was full and they did not assist with offloading space or told us about the valley parking. Very high price for a very bad experience. We will never stay there again.

Breakfast was excellent! I have booked 1 night with Expedia, 2nd night with hotel directly. Men who checked me in was very good. Next day I called desk for Xtra blankets and they said why do I need more? After making clear my kids were with me. I booked a large room. They finally gave me an extra blanket.... Restaurants ath the property not kids friendly. Overall it was good

We got a room that reeked of cigarettes but was disguised with some spray. The table on the balcony had lots of cigarette burns, the carpet is very old, stained, matching the overall terrible smell.
The balcony and the outside looks like it was never cleaned.
It is not easy to find the amenities, the outside pool is very small, good for several small children.
The pictures on the website do not reflect the reality on site.
Guests and staff observe mask wearing very loosely. Some staff have masks under their nose, some on the chin, but a few do wear them.
We were disappointed with Poiana Brasov overall, we drove down to Brasov to eat dinner, highly recommended.
I don’t I would go there again, not even for a free stay.

Overpriced! First and last time! No status recognition at check in!
Old rooms, noisy and poor breakfast. Extra charges for some taxes and lots of questions and papers to fill up at the check in.
This is not a 4**** hotel!

Finely decorated, nice spa, but needs improvements

First of all the access to the hotel is difficult if you don't have a car, it is not faraway from the bus station in Poiana Brasov but the street has almost no sidewalk and you have to climb a couple of stairs (not indicated for elderly persons). The made the reservation late in the evening the same day, was tired I did not pay attention that the room I received was much smaller than what I payed for (23 sqm) and had twin beds instead of a queen size as it was specified in the confirmation mail. When I realised this after midnight, I went to the reception where they told me that the rooms are all the same and it is just a design aspect. But it was clear that the room I booked and was even shown in the hotels.com app did not correspond to what I got. The room is cozy with an artificial fireplace but the beds are hard and small. Finally they gave an apartament instead, an upgrade as compensation. Though I still do not understand why I could not receive what I payed for from the beginning. Even in the apartment the bed was hard. The pillows too small. The radiator in the bathroom did not function. They do not have body lotion in the cosmetic kit which is surprising for a 4 stars hotel. A compensation is the nice view from the balcony and the excellent spa and sauna with very large pool included in the room price. Wifi is fast. The breakfast is ok, but they don't have natural juices. Overall, ok, nicely decorated, fine location, but the service needs improvements.

Alpin Resort stay

I had a really cozy stay at Alpin Hotel,the room was very clean with a really interesting design and a nice touch with the electric fireplace.The place has a big swimming pool besides other hotels and a great breakfast.It has only one main restaurant where you can eat and the service is slow but the food,classic romanian is tasty.

So, so.

The room we got the second time we booked in this hotel was a little bit old. Maybe it affects where you book it. The toilet needs some repairing. The breakfast was okay, eggs were served cold even if it was newly placed by the chef. Not enough parking space in front of the hotel esp. when there is an event and we ended up parking in their parking lot which is a little far away from the hotel. But overall it is an ok experience for the price.

A great base for exploring this area

We wanted to stay in this area as we wanted to visit the castles in the area (Peles, Bran and Rasnov) and may be do a couple of day hikes. Unfortunately the weather had other plans and it rained most of the time we were there - we did visit the castles but couldn't do the hikes. The hotel gym was quite good though and at least we felt like we were getting our dose of exercise. The hotel provides an excellent breakfast with a large array of choices and good coffee machines. The rooms whilst rather small and may be a little on the 'tired' side, have everything you need, and as the hotel facilities are very comprehensive you don't need to spend all your time in the room. They have very good spa facilities and the pool is large with a couple of spas as well, if that is your thing.

Everything was great, starting with the room, breakfast, swimming pool. The only cons that I see is that the outdoor playground is left uncleaned and that the personal is a mix between experienced people and less experienced, but with more less experienced personal. Overall it was a great holiday, with the kids having the indoor playground only for them, swimming pool for kids that was great for them.

The property was good for what we needed, however we could hear music playing out our bedroom window until about 3 in the morning and then it started back up about 7 the next working. We even had the window shut and we were on the 7th floor. I’m sure this will vary by where your room is but we just wanted a good nights sleep as we only stayed there one night and this was hard to do with music blaring in.
The hotel itself was nice a little out dated but nice. Food at the hotel was good.

Nice hotel, poor customer service

Hotel is very nice for a mountain resort, albeit a bit dated / German Inn style decor. Restaurant in the hotel was very good, with quite attentive and professional service, which is rare in Romania. Other staff at the hotel was not nearly as well-trained or service oriented . . . we booked 2 rooms, each with a double/queen bed, at a higher rate than the basic ones with two single beds. We had to tell them multiple times at check-in, and then they STILL put us in the basic rooms, and the hotel was over 50% empty! We got up to the rooms and had to go all the way back down with our luggage and ask for a manager to get the rooms we had actually reserved and paid for; that is not acceptable, and also just doesn't make sense. If the hotel is half empty, why not give your actual clients an upgrade, if anything, rather than the cheapest room you have, and make them feel welcome and more likely to return?!

Family reunion at Poiana Brasov

This hotel is well located in Poiana Brasov. We enjoyed the restaurant where guests receive a 25% discount. Breakfast quality was very good.
The weather was unusually hot, unfortunately there was no A/C in the rooms.
