We had a problem with the first room we were assigned. Within 10 minutes they had come to check
It out. When they could not fix it, they moved us to another room which was a larger room. The entire facility was clean and well kept. It was a lovely inn out in the country with easy access to the freeway.

Beautiful hotel and terrace

In a beautiful location just a short drive from Trier. We had a triple room with the single bed in a separate room from the double bed which is extremely rare in a triple room. Everything in the room was top notch - comfortable beds, spacious, excellent shower room. Breakfast and dinner were both very good and it was great to eat dinner on the terrace next to the water wheel.

First off this hotel was great. We had stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. The hotel staff were so friendly, nice, and welcoming. They all spoke English which made it very easy to ask questions or order food.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner was all delicious and the scenery around the hotel is so peaceful and relaxing.

The rooms were clean, beds comfy, house keeping was great, and overall the property is very well kept.

If you are traveling to Mertesdorf or trier I would recommend this small but wonderful hotel to anyone!

Not a nice clerk

The lady who checked us in would not let us use the elevator. Another lady came up to us as we started the stairs and said use the elevator. The check in clerk, older white lady, said no elevator. The other lady looked at her with shock when the clerk told her in German we are not to use the elevator. I have a hip,knee and shoulder replacement. This was a struggle and not nice of her. We found and used the elevator from then on The people in the morning on our check out were wonderful

Very run down

The window in my sons room was broken, there were no blinds on the window, no staff around and an hour and half wait for dinner. Has not been decorated since 1970 and very run down.

Hotel is in the middle of vineyards beside a stream.
The fittings are simple but clean and adequate.
The breakfast is ample

The downside is the service. It took nearly an hour to get a simple pizza and the beer arrive 20 minutes after that.
The hotel wasn't crowded but service still took an age. Waiters vanished for 20 minutes at a time.

I thought that the german reviews on trip advisor were exaggerating but, if anything, they were being polite

Delightful hotel

Rural location makes this a very pleasant place to stay. A cool beer by the water wheel was just what we needed on arrival. The food is hearty and makes use of local produce. Do note that the hotel is not in the village itself but in tha valley below. Google map is not helpful so it may be worth a look at the hotel's own website to plan your journey.

The room was clean and had a lovely garden view. The location was beautiful, away from the town of Trier by about 15 minutes, set in vineyards and countryside. The town itself is charming.

Wonderful Family Hotel

We stayed here with our three young children in the quadruple room. The room was very clean and comfortable. Our room had a king size bed and two twins. My children loved the playground onsite. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the hotel. We are still talking about how much we loved the schnitzel! Our room included a free breakfast and it was very nice too. The staff was very friendly. We would stay here again and will recommend this nice place to our friends. It was also very close to Trier's historical sites.

Beautiful Setting, Pleasant Stay

We made the mistake of not getting the exact directions to this hotel. We were told at the information center at the Trier train station to take the #30 bus to get to the hotel. Luckily someone on the bus told us what to do once we got off the bus. From the bus stop there is a 15 minute walk from the bus stop. The walk is beautiful!!!! But if your mobility is limited or if your luggage is excessive, take a taxi or rent a car.

The room was comfortable. The view from our porch was a vineyard, geese, pigs, apple trees, and a stream. It was lovely!!!

We enjoyed the generous breakfast. We ate two dinners in the restaurant and definitely enjoyed our meals.

Very pleasant hotel

Used this hotel as a stop off driving from the UK. Easy enough to find using the Sat Nav but may have struggled without it. Restaurant was good for an evening meal and served until quite late. Breakfast was fine. We had booked a quadruple room but were given 2 doubles. Not an issue for us as the kids are older but could have been for others. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

Great Location in scenic wine country

We really enjoyed our stay at this inn. It is located about 5 miles outside of Trier in vineyard country and is what you vision for a wine country inn. The room was clean and simply furnished. This hotel had the best TV and cable of any place we stayed in Germany during our week. What really made us happy with the hotel's wonderful outdoor dinning / bar area and the fact the hotel is located on a scenic 50KM walking- biking trail that runs along a stream surrounded by vineyards. The location of this hotel is great!

Once you find it this is a charming place to stay

We had a litle trouble finding it but once we did we were very happy to have booked a stay here. the rooms aren't fancy but the location is completely lovely--in the middle of a green area with animals and wine growing. The place had an excellent restaurant that is very popular--people travel to get to it and we had a couple of fine meales there. The breakfasts were also very nice.

Das Hotel liegt idyllisch zwischen Weinbergen. Hier kann man direkt entspannen. Das Personal begrüßt herzlich, sodass man sich direkt willkommen fühlt. Die Zimmer sind wie angegeben. Das Essen ist hervorragend. Im ganzen haben sowohl wir, als auch unsere zwei Hunde sich sehr wohl gefühlt und können gerne wieder, wenn es und erneut nach Trier verschlägt. Empfehlung: Gerne auch den eigenen Wein probieren und durch die hauseigene Jagd auch mal Wild im Restaurant bestellen.

Quite basic. We where hoping for a cozy smaller hotel at a wineyard, but it’s just a very basic hotel in the middle of nowhere. Theres nice outdoor seating, but we really had to insist on being able to sit there, as it seemed inconvenient for the servers. All waiters spoke French to us, even though they understood our English. Great if you just want a place to stay for the night, but not if you are on the lookout for a cozy place to hang and enjoy.

herzlichen Dank für meinen Aufenthalt! Insgesamt war es eine wundervolle Erfahrung. Ich habe die Sauberkeit und den Komfort der Zimmer, insbesondere die hervorragenden Matratzen, sehr geschätzt. Die tierfreundliche Atmosphäre war ein zusätzlicher Pluspunkt.

Das \"grosse\" Frühstück (etwas irreführend) war lecker, aber ich hätte mir etwas mehr Auswahl gewünscht - deshalb meine Empfehlung nur Frühstück. Besonders gut haben mir die Rühreier und der gebratene Speck geschmeckt. Die Freundlichkeit Ihres Personals und die Möglichkeit, draußen zu sitzen, haben meinen Aufenthalt bereichert.

Ein Verbesserungsvorschlag: Im Außenbereich des Biergartens wurde der Kaffee in Tassen serviert, die nur zu etwas mehr als einem Drittel gefüllt waren. Eine vollere Tasse würde das Kaffeevergnügen erheblich steigern.

Ihr Restaurant war ein Highlight mit einer tollen Auswahl an Speisen und Weinen, und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war sehr gut.

Ich freue mich auf ein Wiedersehen aufgrund der schönen Lage und der Wandermöglichkeiten!

Kann ich nicht empfehlen.
Der Chef hatte uns ein „Upgrade“ des Zimmers angeboten. Wir waren sehr erfreut, bis wir zum angebotenen Zimmer kamen — sozusagen auf eine Baustelle in der es noch nach allen möglichen Baustoffen stank. Natürlich fühlten wir uns „verarscht“. Wir haben dies moniert und glücklicherweise ein anderes Zimmer bekommen.
Die Art und Weise, wie der „Chef“ auf uns als Hotelgäste gewirkt hat, schien er sichtlich genervt zu sein.
Wir fühlten uns in diesem Hotel nicht gerade willkommen.☹️

Unser Zimmer (101) war sehr dunkel. Dusche und Waschbecken befanden sich direkt neben dem Bett, abgetrennt durch einen ollen Duschvorhang. Im Zimmer herrschte daher permanent ein feuchtes muffiges Badezimmerklima mit leichtem Abflussgeruch. Direkt vor dem Fenster rauschte ein Wasserrad, wir empfanden es als urig - wenn man auf der Suche nach Ruhe ist, könnte es aber sehr stören. Das Frühstück war ok, wer ein reichhaltiges Buffet erwartet, wird allerdings enttäuscht. Wegen Krankheit wurde im Restaurant leider nur eine reduzierte Karte angeboten. Die Gerichte, die wir probierten waren aber sehr gut.
Das Personal ist nett, nur sehr unprofessionell.
Direkt unter unserem Fenster befand sich der Biergarten. Hier hat sich am Freitagabend eine Gruppe von 10 Herren ordentlich betrunken - inkl. Mitgröhlen von Schlagern aus der eigenen Bluetooth-Box. Da sich vom Hotel scheinbar niemand verantwortlich fühlte, musste ich die Leute um 1 Uhr selbst bitten, zu gehen. 1,5 Stunden später ging die Feierei unter dem Fenster wieder los, dann allerdings waren es die Hotelangestellten selbst. Erholung sieht anders aus, v.a., wenn man am nächsten Tag eine neunstündige Autofahrt vor sich hat. Kleine Warnung: von den zwei freilaufenden, angriffslustigen Gänsen sollte man seine Kinder fernhalten.

Wir hatten 3 schöne Tage in der Karlsmühle. Die Einrichtung der Zimmer und des Badezimmers würde ich als neuwertig bezeichnen. Im Restaurant haben wir hervorragend gegessen. Am Frühstücksangebot könnte man noch etwas verbessern. Aber bei uns hat gerade die Saison 😷 nach Corona begonnen und das sollte man berücksichtigen. Wir werden sie auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen 👍

Vi blev mødt af en gammel sur mand der kunne informere os om at vi var kommet for tidlig og man ikke kunne tjekke ind før kl 15 - så ville vi købe noget at drikke det kunne man heller ikke da stedets resturent først åbnede kl 16 - da vi så endelig fik nøglen kunne vi ik få vores værelse for rengøringen var ik færdig før 1530. Ikke ret meget venlighed - gammelt og slidt og man er sprunget over hvor gæret var lettest ... ingen pool selv om det står i beskrivelsen og friluftsbadet der ligger i en anden by er lukket - det var go mad og vin og morgenmaden var ok men alt i alt skuffende ophold og vingård er så meget sagt der er salg af vin men du kan ikke se hvordan det bliver lavet eller noget...

Bij aankomst was de kamer héél koud en vochtig. Er waren ook enkele vochtplekken op muur en plafond.
Voor de rest was de ontvangst zeer goed. Rijkelijk ontbijt en goede maaltijden 's avonds. Ook onze hondjes hebben ervan genoten. Zij konden makkelijk in de weilanden ernaast spelen..

Schöner gemütlicher Gasthof.
Leider war das ausgewiesene Schwimmbad ein öffentliches Schwimmbad welches mit längerem Fußweg erreicht werden konnte.
Eintritt sollte auch bezahlt werden.
Am Abend wurden wir vom Kellner unfreundlich empfangen. Das Essen war aber sehr gut.

Das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber das macht nichts.Ärgerlich war das, obwohl wir erst um 15:15 anreisten, ein reserviertes Zimmer nicht bezugsfertig war. Erst nach über einer Stunde konnte das Zimmer bezogen werden. Von Entschuldigung leider keine Spur. Ansonsten ist das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit, kommt aber manchmal doch an seine Grenzen. Bei 1 Bedienung im gut besuchten Hotel und Biergarten kein Wunder. Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß und sauber. mit TV und Wlan ausgestattet gibt´s da nix zu meckern. Standard, nicht mehr aber auch nicht weniger. Das Frühstück ist ausreichend, abwechslungsreich und wird auch immer nachgefüllt. Auf der Abendkarte gibt es genug Auswahl von schmackhaften Gerichten. Mycket trevlig atmosfär. Rent och snyggt. Kvällen vi kom så hade man liveunderhållning med musiker. Bra frukost trevlig personal.

Dejlige omgivelser

Hyggelig vingård med restaurant og hotel. Dejlig udendørsarealer med legeplads og fritgående høns.
Værelset var fint og hyggeligt. Dejligt med en lille altan. Der var dog underlige pletter på væggene der lignede snavs/jord. På gangen var tapetet gået løst.
Rigtig fin morgenmad og stort udvalg.
Aftensmaden i restauranten var desværre en stor skuffelse! Vi fik en pizza som mest lignede en købe pizza, og den smagte forfærdeligt. Kostede næsten 70 kr. Meget ærgerligt..

hotel confortable, mais des details a ameliorer

sejour amical, avec un personnel acceuillant, mais des details qui pourraient etre ameliores, surtout dans le restaurant: en cas de beaucoup de cliemts, le personnel du resto n’arrive pas a servir tout le monde. La qualite du menu reste tres bonne cependant.

Rustig, mooie omgeving, goede voorzieningen

Leuke plek voor jong en oud in de moezel. Mooie omgeving voor motorrijders en buitensporten. Vlakbij fietsroutes. Restaurant is niet bijzonder maar prima. Veel ruimte om het hotel.

Correcte prijs, verwacht echter geen luxe hotel.

Hotel heeft dringend een opknapbeurt nodig, de spoelbak van het wc moest met de hand worden toe gedraaid en naar behoefte terug open gedraaid, afstandsbediening van tv was spoorloos (er werd ons wel dadelijk een andere gegeven), matras van het extra bed was niet al te comfortabel, mengkranen in de badkamer niet gemakkelijk regelbaar (ofwel water te koud, of te warm) Maar gezien de lage prijs, al met al mee gevallen.
