The outstanding feature of this hotel is its location. Easy access to train station and across the street from Porta Nigra and the old town.
The hotel itself is comfortable and a bit old-school, we had a spacious room and the largest bed I have ever seen.

The hotel is in an excellent location to see the city, it really could not be more convenient. Keep in mind that the hotel is on a busy road so if you open the window to get fresh air you will have lots of traffic noise and if you are in the parking lot side there is no view and additional noise.

The hotel was clean and well maintained considering its age. It could use some new paint and safes in the room for personal items. It is older and parts of it are showing that. However, the staff is friendly and helpful and the location simply can’t be beaten for convenience.

My only complaint is that I paid parking as a guest of the hotel. I was told that the parking was paid until 5 pm on my last day of stay. However I left the hotel 10 minutes before 5 pm, the ticket was invalid already. I have to back the car to the parking lot and got another ticket from the hotel. It’s not a big deal, but annoying. The hotel should honor what they have promised and make sure their software is calibrated to the correct time.

a 2 star hotel that somehow checked all the boxes for 4 star rating. better book a 3 start somewhere in the historical center. rooms smell and the least they could've done is place new toilet papers before our arrival.

Perfect place to stay!

Location was right across the street from sights, dining and shopping. View of gate from room was incredible! AC wasn't great, but the room has a huge window that you can open and a cool breeze blows in easily. They also provide a nice fan that keeps the room comfortable.

In general , the hotel is very nice. However, amenities are very basic, a high-end hotel has no wash clothes in the room, Kleenex run out not replenish, only 1 flat pillow per person, and had to make use of the sofar cushion to fit my head while sleeping. Twice I called reception counter but never answered and had to go to the reception counter in person for service, I refused to go to the lobby myself for the second time. I would not give this hotel a thumb up for recommendations.

The place is nice but not 4 stars

The stuff is nice and very helpful. My check in was very quick as well. That is a huge plus. But the hotel needs a renovation. The furnutire is old. The bathroom is also old. The breakfast is good. I enjoyed. I would not give it 4 stars because the interiour is kind old. But the room itself was clean.

Very good value for money and excellent stay with no faults. Staff very friendly and welcoming, kindly stored my luggage before check in. Rooms and hotel is very outdated but this did not affect stay. Room very spacious, tea and coffee in room. Also nice seating area in room. Very close to town centre, snacks available from reception. Restaurant closed due to low season.

Great stay with a view of Porta Nigra. I had booked a room with two singles and the receptionist was a bit rude (or maybe just German blunt) and said our room was two single beds pushed together, which is very common in Germany. It was okay, but not the room I purposely paid more for.

The heating was so hot we were sweating and the only option to turn it off and have the window open was loud. Also very common in Europe to have overly heated accom so very normal.

The room was clean and we had complimentary sparking water which was lovely.

Would be nice if the hotel had a pool or sauna but we were busy enough in town every day that it was okay it didn't have these facilities and we knew this before booking.

The location of this property is unbeatable, especially for the price. The views are absolutely stunning and the entire city is very walkable from the hotel. The main thing we did not like was that the lamps on the bed are directly above your head and we hit our heads a few times.

This hotel was very close to heart of Trier. Good underground parking (extra payment), nice breakfast, nice big rooms. I think it was probably built in late 1990’s and is beginning to show signs of its age, although updating seems to be going on.

We could have done with lighter duvets as the room was to warm. We may have been able to cool it with the ventilation system but the noise would have kept us awake. The restaurant was too full for us at 9.00 on Saturday morning . We loaded up a tray which we took to our room but there were tables available, just not cleared.

Gateway to Trier - literally

Just across the road from the Porta Nigra so an excellent location to start exploring the Roman history of Trier. Also not far from the train station along a main road. Staff were friendly and efficient. Rooms are large and very comfortable, with large beds, a large desk and chest of drawers, a small table with armchairs, and a good sized bathroom. The breakfast restaurant does a very good traditional German breakfast, where you can enjoy a marvellous view of the Porta Nigra over bread and cheese/cold meats/jams, and good black coffee. The downstairs Vis A Vis bar/bistro is good for an evening drink and/or a light dinner. The association with a Spielbank casino is a little weird, but otherwise not noticeable as it's out of the way.

Amazing hotel!

If I come back to Trier, I am 100% staying here again. We got a room that overlooked the Porta Nigra. It was beautiful. Probably, the best view I've ever had from a hotel room. The room was comfortable, the staff was great. The breakfast was perfect (totally worth the money).

I think this is a great option for a stay in Trier, its right opposite the Porta Nigra and as such a very short walk to the town centre and numerous attractions.
Breakfast is expensive but has a fantastic variety of foods.
Staff are very professional and requests are actioned promptly.

Don’t arrive before 15:00!

Arrived shortly after 13:00 (after traveling for more than 24 hours and being very tired), and couldn’t get into our room until 15:00. Very disappointing! Otherwise everything was good. Great view onto Porta Nigra from our room!

The location is excellent and great views of Porta Nigra, easy walking distance to train station and all the towns shops. The Hotel is very clean and well maintained with friendly staff. I didn't like the fact they ask for credit card details on arrival when I had already paid before arrival. I refused and paid for food and drink as I asked for it.

Trier is very tourist orientated but has a lot of history and Roman ruins , so compared to other towns in Germany I've visited Trier is expensive especially with eating and drinking out.

The hotel was in a great location, with an easy walk everywhere. Did not need the hop on hop off bus or tram as we could walk to all of their stops. We had a minor problem with heating in our corner room, but the hotel was very accomodating and moved us to an equally nice room. The staff was excellant.

We have been visiting this hotel for years because of its rooms and prime location in Trier. Over time the little details have been lost like cups, individual shampoos etc and the customer experience stripped back.
Always have to book through an online agent because they are more competitive on price than Accor less 10%.

Only bad thing was the callous and unsympathetic way we were treated when stricter Covid procedures were put in place. A staff person said my wife would have to stand in line on a cold rainy night for a test. She did for 2 hours. Very uncaring attitude.

Clean, bright, comfortable. Easy walk from the train station, through the walking streets, and to many restaurants! Friendly staff. We choose the bigger room as opposed to the view and it was great with two upholstered chairs.
