Within in sight of amazing Porta Nigra, just wow! Incredible apartments. Super clean and beautifully decorated! We had two apartments. One had a full kitchen which had the necessary kitchen equipment for the 7 of us to eat breakfast and lunch. There is grocery story next door. Perfect location for restaurants, train station and Porta Nigra. Would love to go back, we had too short of a time there.

Room was well appointed and comfortable, however there was no wall mirror in the bathroom, only a small standing makeup mirror. There was a lift, but there were stairs to get into the building and the rooms were a half-flight higher than where the lift was. Otherwise, really appreciated the online check-in/check-out, and the location was well situated for access to the Altstadt.

We booked the family suit and a double room for my parents. Very nice and clean.
The suit was perfect for my husband and kids. I would recommend that suit (apartment) if you have kids as you have a full kitchen.
Parking across the street, belongs to the hotel, available for a small fee.
Close to everything in walking distance. A great value.

Nice stay, some bad elements.

Very nice hotel right in city center, close to everything. We had a studio room outside in the courtyard. It was very loud in am from others walking about and talking super loud. If we had windows open which we did as there is no ac. The voices travel a lot. The smell of cigarettes was bad too. Other guests and employees smoking near open windows. Other than that the place was easy to check in and very clean and comfortable. Right next to Porta Nigra.

The location is perfect for a weekend in the city. Located right across from the Porta Nigra!
We had a very clean, quiet, spacious apartment, reaching over three stories just for us. Two bedrooms, with very good beds and a very comfortable sofa bed, solid roll down shutters, blocking out light. We had a real kitchen, coffee maker, coffee and tea bags, big fridge and table for four. Even a washing machine was included. At breakfast the nice hostess baked chocolate croissants just for us!
Parking spaces were available in the back.
The front desk personnel was extremely knowledgeable about Trier, also gave us great suggestions for our travel to Luxemburg. The feeling was modern with a little bit of eighties thrown in.
The hotel lobby is only staffed during the day, but uses keyless codes to allow entry to the hotel and individual spaces. We did not need any in-person assistance once we had checked in. We would return to this place anytime!

I like the location and the price was ok for solo business traveler but wifi access did not work and there was nobody to help. The bathroom light switch triggered a very noisy cheap extract fan and the person was a bit curt in the morning. I manage to park in the Mercure hotel parking across for 10 euros a night

Value-for-money hotel near Trier's old town

The hotel is ideally located, just steps from the main attractions. For that reason alone, it is good value-for-money. I travelled to Trier by train. The hotel is walking distance from the station. The room itself is basic but includes all the fundamentals. The only problem was noise. The rooms aren’t sound-proofed, so I heard traffic, every door slam shut and people arriving throughout the night.

The check in was confusing, the front desk was not manned when we arrived at 8 pm. A note on the door had a QR code and directions to check in online. The code did not work on my American iPhone? I called the emergency number and the young lady came over in ten minutes to help us check in, everything was fine after that… Enjoyed are stay in Trier.

We got there early and they were very accommodating with letting us get in the room. Staff was exceptionally friendly the location is pretty unbeatable to access the central town. If you’re moderately healthy you can walk to pretty much all of the Roman ruins within 20 to 30 minutes. Room was not huge but it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Overall, we enjoyed our stay They do offer breakfast for an additional price which we did not take part in. The parking is across the street and cost extra but is convenient and safe, it’s limited though so you should call to reserve it in advance

We booked this property through Expedia and stated that we are a disabled couple ( my wife is in a wheelchair) and you accepted the booking , however this property isn’t accessible with steps everywhere . The hotel however moved room for us so we only had a minimum of these and they were fantastic . Expedia however needs to deal with this issue

The hotel is located in an ideal location, close to the town centre of Trier (though a bit of a walk from the main railway station). The room was clean and spacious enough, and the staff were courteous and pleasant to deal with. Only one thing to note: reception closes at night (at about 9pm, I think they said) and the front doors are locked. So try not to turn up for check-in and collect your key too late in the day.

Small, but nice place. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Room looks very good, but bathroom was slightly problematic (shower stall leaking, toilet positioning relative to wall in front was very strange, damage to bathroom curtain); otherwise room was quite good; internet was reliable. There is an elevator, but that does not mean your floor is necessarily served; sort of like half-floor landings, which was fine for us. Reasonable walk to main train station; on the edge of all the main tourist sites, with the Porta Nigra in site upon walking out the front door.

We reserved a two bedroom apartment at Hotel Porta Nigra for three adults in our family through Hotels.com. Upon arrival, the front desk clerk told us that Hotels.com had made a booking error and the apartment we thought we rented was not available. The hotel owners changed our reservation without our knowledge to a one room unit with a double bed and one twin bed. After seeing the room, we immediately went back to the front desk to voice our displeasure. Also note that this change was made with no change to the charge billed to our credit card. We checked on line to find that there was a 30 euro difference between the room we reserved and the one we were provided.
Later that same evening, the hotel clerk brought two bottles of white wine to our room. A nice gesture but made far too late: we would not have accepted this room for our stay in Trier had we known of the hotel owner's underhanded booking change. The next morning upon checkout, I asked the clerk if there was an adjustment to the room price. The front desk clerk phoned the hotel manager who directed her to give us $10 euros. Note that the phone discussion was done in German thinking that we would not understand it; their mistake, my son is fluent in German.
I would not stay at this hotel again based on their management practices.
Also note that the room was very small, hot and the bathroom was so small: when sitting on the toilet, your knees pressed on a wall. Thankfully our stay was just 1 day.

Small hotel in a great location with easy access to everything you need. Rooms were clean and reasonable size, however bathroom was super tiny - as a 6ft 4 guy I had to sit sideways on the toilet as it was pratically jammed into the narrowest part of the bathroom. The shower flooded the bathroom too which didn't help. No safe in the rooms either.

O hotel é excelente no que diz respeito à estrutura. Os quartos são modernos, bem equipados e muito confortáveis. Lençóis e toalhas impecáveis, além da disponibilidade de chaleira elétrica com café e chás, espaço adequado para malas e roupas, cadeira, poltrona confortável e TV. Esses detalhes realmente fizeram diferença na experiência.

Por outro lado, a recepção deixou a desejar. Não recebemos o link para check-in e check-out online e, mesmo chegando e saindo dentro do horário informado, não houve atendimento adequado. Ao chegarmos ao quarto havia um ventilador — que foi bastante útil, já que precisávamos manter as janelas fechadas por conta do barulho constante da rua. Porém, no dia seguinte, o ventilador foi retirado sem qualquer aviso ou consentimento, o que além de nos causar uma noite quente e desconfortável, gerou uma má impressão em relação à segurança e à comunicação da hospedagem.
Também sentimos falta de informações mais claras por parte da atendente. Só ao final da estadia descobrimos que o hotel oferecia café da manhã, algo que poderia ter tornado a experiência ainda mais agradável.
No momento do check-out, enfrentamos outro transtorno: ficamos cerca de 30 minutos aguardando na recepção, tocando o sino diversas vezes, mas ninguém apareceu. Tivemos que deixar o hotel às 11h30 sem conseguir finalizar o check-out presencial nem online.Em resumo, o hotel tem uma excelente estrutura e oferece conforto nos quartos, mas precisa melhorar significativamente a comunicação

Midden in het centrum vlakbij de Porta Nigra, Een zeer moderne, schone en nette accomodatie. Alle sightseeing spots op loopafstand. Parkeerplaats a €10 per dag aan de overkant van het hotel. Supermarkt naast het hotel. (3 persoons kamer) aan voorzijde hotel. Met ramen dicht hoorde je verder niks van de weg voor het hotel.
Perfecte locatie voor 1 overnachting in Trier!

Zimmer grundsätzlich ok, Badezimmer sehr klein. Frühstücksbüffet ausreichende Auswahl. Online CheckIn und -Out funktionierte super gut. Zugang zum Hotel und Zimmer via PIN sehr praktisch, mussten keinen Schlüssel rum tragen. Rezeption super freundlich, konnten Gepäck bis zum Nachmittag stehen lassen.

Leider war es an diesen Tagen sehr heiß und alle Fenster waren den kompletten Tag über offen gelassen worden. Das heißt es war unerträglich heiß in der Ferienwohnung. Auch hatten wir bei den Suchkriterien von Expedia - da weiß ich allerdings nicht ob das ein Problem von Expedia ist - nach Hotels gesucht bei welchen das Frühstück inbegriffen ist. Dies war bei der Buchung auch noch über dem Zimmer bzw. der Ferienwohung gestanden. In der Früh sagte man uns dann das wir das Frühstück extra zahlen müssten weil wir es nicht mit gebucht hätten. Und das Frühstück ist definitiv keine 15,00 € wert.

wiedermal 2 Übernachtungen im Hotel Porta Nigra verbracht. Unser kleines Zimmer war sauber und zweckmässig eingerichtet. Es hatte gute Betten u war mit Wasserkocher f. Kaffee pp. ausgestattet. Schönes sauberes Bad mit einer etwas kleinen Dusche, war aber für Kurzurlaub ausreichend. Was uns gefehlt hat war ein kleiner Tresor auf dem Zimmer. Frühstück war gut. Personal war sehr freundlich und fleissig. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Wir haben uns im Hotel Porta Nigra sehr wohl gefühlt. Es liegt super zentral und die Zimmer im Hinterhaus sind wirklich ruhig. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker.
Das Zimmer selbst ist klein, die Betten okay. Das Bad ist recht schön, aber einen Heizkörper haben wir dort vermisst. Keine Ahnung wie oder ob es beheizt wird. Wir haben die Tür zum Bad offen gelassen und so dort die gleiche Temperatur wie in der übrigen Wohnung gehabt.
Direkt im Flur gibt es eine kleine, nette Sitzecke.
Ungewöhnlich ist, dass der Flur am Ende nur mit einer halb hohen Tür abgeschlossen ist und sich dahinter noch ein Treppenhaus befindet. Es ist als Fluchtweg gekennzeichnet. Wohin dieses Treppenhaus führt haben wir nicht erkundet, sondern darauf vertraut, dass uns niemand von dort besuchen kommt :-)
Wir würden wieder dort Station machen, manches ist etwas ungewöhnlich aber doch charmant.

Was een wat kleiner kamer. Het is prima te doen voor 1 of 2 nachtjes. Verder kwam er wel een riool lucht uit het douche putje. Wel een goede nacht gehad en erg vriendelijke personeel.

Das Hotel ist sehr zentral gelegen, direkt an der Porta Nigra. Wir hatten ein Zimmer das zur Straße hin gelegen war. Mit geschlossenen Fenstern und den Rollos,die vorhanden waren war die Lautstärke okay.
Die Mitarbeiter sind alle sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Zimmer sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet und entsprechen den Fotos des Hotels,wobei die Zimmergröße variiert. Das Frühstück war prima...alles vorhanden...

Sehr nettes kleines Hotel sehr zentral in Trier gelegeb und ideal für eine Städtereise.
Leider hatte ich ein Zimmer zu Straße hin, mußte daher nachts das Fenster schließen wodurch es im Zimmer sehr schwül war.

Je zit midden in het centrum, ontbijt is goed. Kamers zijn schoon. Wij hadden een kamer helemaal boven in het hotel, daar was het zo warm dat we bijna niet in slaap konden komen.

Vi fick ett bra rum där man kunde sitta utanför rummet och ta en kopp kaffe. Frukosten var var bra till det priset det viktigaste fanns där och det var supergott kaffe. Nära till centrum

Super god beliggenhed. Desværre var der ikke mulighed for parkering - hvilket vi havde fået indtryk af, at der var. Vi fandt dog frem til et parkeringshus til 15 euro pr. dag. Derudover var det svært at holde uden for hotellet - man skulle holde ulovligt på fortov ved af- og på læsning af baggage.

Kanon läge och fin lägenhet

Super lägenhet som var väldigt ren och fin! Otroligt mysigt rum och vi trivdes väldigt bra i lägenheten! Den var dessutom väldigt nära centrum vilket var toppen!

Komfortabel, sehr sauber und wunderbar Zentral

Ein modernes und sehr zentral (keine 5 Minuten zur Porta und Touristenzentrum, sowie Hauptverkaufsstraße) gelegenes Hotel. Sehr sauber und ein einfacher Check-In, auch außerhalb der Öffnungszeiten. Das Einzelzimmer ist zwar kompakt, aber es gibt alles was benötigt wird. Inklusive kleinem Wasserkocher und kleinem Willkommensset mit Kaffee und Tee. Ich hatte wenig Kontakt zum Personal, aber alle waren freundlich und zuvorkommend. Jederzeit gern wieder.
