A very nice hotel, well maintained and located for walking to many of Trier’s attractions. The staff were friendly, parking was easy, and the breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable, though we had to leave a window open overnight in early April or the room would have been too warm and there didn’t seem to be a way of controlling the temperature. We stayed on a weekend and it was very quiet, but when we were packing up on the Monday morning, loud construction started up in the wing of the hotel we were in. Be worth checking with the hotel on the state of that.

The reception staff are professional and responsive. Rooms are in good condition. The cleaning staff though, only empty trash cans and change/remove dirty towels. Also the property doors are locked at 11 pm (which is really early!), and you have to call a number so that they open it. There is no bell, so make sure your phone doesn’t die on you while you are out at night.

This hotel stay was an awesome surprise - it had the most beautiful decks overlooking the Moselle river and vineyards! The mini-bar was well stocked with local wines - where you could sit on the deck and enjoy the sunset! The breakfast was awesome. We traveled by bikes and they had storage on property which was awesome. We will stay again!

We had a great time, the hotel was very clean and neat. Breakfast was great. Very centrally located, almost everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. The staff was friendly and helpful, they overcharged us for breakfast and we didn’t realize until we arrived home and looked at the receipt. We contacted them and they immediately corrected it and were very kind and apologetic (it was partially our fault, they asked when we checked in if we wanted breakfast and we said yes, but we didn’t get it the last day and we didn’t think to tell them). We would recommend it and would stay there again.

This hotel is located nicely at one end of the city. There are plenty of restaurant options within a few blocks. The parking (which is the reason we selected this hotel) works very well (9EU/night). The room was large, and there were about 7 English TV channels, all news. The room was very very HOT! There is no air conditioning. We had to open windows, which they request you don't do. But there is no way we could sleep with the windows closed. And it was high temperatures in the 60's while we were there. There is no safe in the room. The breakfast is OK, but they tended to run out of eggs quickly. If parking is your concern, this hotel is good. Otherwise I would look elsewhere.

Easy check in, however, the room was a bit of a route march away, all areas clean and tidy. Only one problem, I tripped and partly fell on an insecure stair tread, I reported it to reception, who seemed more interested in the stair tread than my accident, having had spinal surgery only 8 weeks previous I was very disappointed by their lack of care.

Extremely friendly staff,the most helpful I've met in my 3 months of travel. It's more than a place to stay, they offer tours with locals which was a highlight for me. My room was great and thank you for the upgrade! Place was perfectly positioned within walking distance to old town and the Mosel River. AND they even supplied a kettle and iron and ironing board...a very lovely bonus! I certainly enjoyed my stay and have no hesitation recommending Deutscher Hof as a great place to stay!

This is an excellent hotel with very helpful and polite staff. It is in excellent condition and kept to a very high standard. It's cleanliness is perfect. The location is easily accessed by car and it has amply parking facilities although these could be a little less expensive. It is 7/9 mins walk from the centre but this is via pedestrianised streets once the road outside has been crossed, in summary v good access. The breakfast is varied, hot and cold, and is extensive.

Very kind staff, super nice receptionist girl at check-in. I loved the good pillows, which were comfortable (in many hotels you get awful pillows, but not here!). It was nice to have coffee and tea making facilities with daily refilled supply. The breakfast is very good also. Trier Süd train station is close by which was very useful for me. Also the sights of Trier can be reached with a short walk
The only thing that I did not like was that my room was beside the elevator, which made big noise everytime somebody used it. It is not an issue at daytime, but one night there was a lot of people moving at midnight and I was bothered by the noise of the elevator. Luckily people did not make noise the other nights.

The Deutscher Hof Hotel is comfortable and reasonably priced without being outstanding in any way. It is 5-10 minutes walk from the centre of the old town, and a similar distance from the banks of the Moselle River and the main railway station.
On the ground floor there is a pleasant restaurant and a bar, with a lift to the upper floors. The rooms are clean, although quite small, and mine was a little dark with only one small window. The bathrooms are adequate but small.

Great location very close to the town centre and only a short taxi or bus ride from the railway station. We stayed in the accommodation at the rear of the main part of the hotel. Room was very hot with no air conditioning or a fan which made for uncomfortable nights sleeeping.

We stayed one night in this nice pet friendly hotel. Pet fee was 8.00 EUR per pet. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw two dog bawls and some dog treats in the room when we got there, curtsy or hotel staff . The room was clean, but pretty basic: no refrigerator or microwave. Breakfast was available for additional fee, but we did not use this option. The hotel was easy to find on our drive from Luxembourg. There was free parking on premises, and a gas station directly across the street. The hotel is very nicely located: short walking distance from restaurants and sites. There was only one negative to the hotel: it smelled like sewage in the hallway on the way to our room, although smell did not penetrate inside the room. Other than that, a very nice hotel.

Generally I don’t comment on staff as you can always get somebody on a bad day in this case whether it be ordering a drink, checking in or trying to get coffee for breakfast staff seemed bothered by my intrusion asking for anything. Hotel is in decent location for walking the old part of town but seems a little long in the tooth. Room was very small and spare bed quite impossible. Not a bad location for student and university faculty as it seemed close to campus

A comfortable and friendly hotel in a quiet location. I would happily use it again. It is above the town on the height of the castle. A pleasant 30 minute walk into town but not for those who don't want to walk up a steep hill.

The hotel was lovely and breakfast was great. My husband and I are cycling the Mosel River so a healthy and substantial breakfast is important to us. Our room and bed were very comfortable. The hotel is centrally located to walk to the historic town centre, visit churches and Porte Nigra - old Roman ruins. I would definitely stay there again.
