This used to be an apartment building (communist times) it is old and even if it’s been remodeled there are things that haven’t changed.
I could see that some floors have carpet in the hallways but others no, still cold concrete.
My room was on the 6th floor. It had no bed it was a folding cot and mattress. You would not expect that in any hotel. Maybe hostel. Luckily it wasn’t cold in there and I could sleep. The bathroom the doors, everything you can tell is old.
I would not expect much for the price paid but still. I think it was really overpriced for what you get.
Would not recommend at all. That place is worth maybe 10-15 usd per night seriously.

The bed was clean, the room was comfortable and the staff were helpful. The hotel is located near the bus stop and you can get a direct bus to the railway station. The only thing is the towels were a little too small to have a shower.

This is a clean, yet basic hotel. When I was there for a week, the place was kept wonderfully clean and well maintained . Ultimately, it is a no frills hotel. If you want air conditioning, room service, or decent sized towels, go across the road to atos, and pay more for it. If you want a basic hotel, then this is the place for you :-)

This is a low-cost hotel with good maids and front

I was told breakfast at the Best Western next door was 20 zloty. I was charged over 30, however. Don't eat next door. Location is good. About 160 meters and one bus stop to a GREAT bakery and a store. Best part of the hotel is the staff. Beds are the single thin slab kind. Wifi is free and not too bad. There is a limited restaurant menu. You must pay for parking unless you can find a space outside the lot (possible to find usually). Quite a distance from city center (25 zloty plus for taxi). In short, nott too bad an option if you just need to sleep and want an inexpensive place.

Book another hotel!

Went with my family and stayed a few nights. Room was okay ( not the cleanest room I have been in) but no air-conditioning as mentioned on the website. Was told that climate control meant ventilation through windows. Located close to a bus station and takes about 20 minutes to get to town by bus. A nearby gas station which has a 24 hour mini shop but apart from that very quiet in the outskirts of town.

Decent for the price

Decent minimal accommodations for the price. Had to check out at 4am to make our 6:45am flight out of nearby Chopin airport, which went smoothly. Access to the hotel is a little challenging if you have a lot of luggage - there is no driveway leading up to the reception, and there is a set of exterior stairs to take from grade level up to the reception, so travellers with mobility issues may want to skip this one. Otherwise, Aramis is a rather charming remnant of the Polish communist era. It's perfect for students, backpackers on a budget, and anyone interested in experiencing how things used to be in the Eastern Block.
Our room was small but bright, with decently sound-proof newer windows on the entire length of the exterior wall. TV was a tiny CRT mounted on a bracket in one corner of the room. Beds were basically single metal cots but were surprisingly comfortable, with clean bedding that smelled fresh. The bathroom was spacious and clean.
All in all, being a 1-star hotel, don't expect a 4-star service or amenities, and you won't be disappointed.

I have stayed at this hotel before and can see that ghe Management are slowly improving the conditons. This is a budget price hotel but you get clean comfortable rooms in agood location in terms of accessing public transport and also if you are driving. It offers value for money - its not worth paying the extra for the 2 star hotel Athos on the same site. l

Good value,great breakfast, but a little bit noisy

Hotel is pretty ok especially for this price. Staff is very helpful and nice. I was also informed by staff when I can expect crowd during breakfast and when I don't need to worry. I've not asked about this but it helped me and I ate comfortably when most people already left :)

Of course it is only one star hotel, so the interior especially walls etc. is not in the best condition. On the other hand bed, and desk was new. It was also very clean and warm (even a little bit too warm). The breakfast was very good especially when I compare even with 2-3 star hotels. You can choose from 3 different bread types, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, fried sausages, 3 types of meats, 2 types of cheese, tomatoes, cucumber and few other vegetables. Milk, flakes, coffee, tea and so on.

The only issue in this hotel is other people staying there. Lot of noise, loud shutting doors and loud talks and parties on corridor. This unfortunately might happen in any hotel, but here you don't have any silencing doors, walls etc. The thing is that you have in one place 3 different hotels: 1, 2 and 3 stars with different prizes, and this one is the cheapest, so there is always lot of people here, also students etc. Fortunately I had earplugs so just after few minutes I fall asleep.

Good value for short stays in Warsaw.

I had a stay of 3 nights and I must say it was good staying at Hotel Start Aramis. As a budget hotel it gives you a little more than what you pay for. Positive side is that the staff speaks English, they are very cooperative and helps you with everything you need. The breakfast is also good, not too big of a menu but serves good food. There is a bus stop just couple of meters away from hotel through which one can easily reach city center and old town without having to change. There is a ticket machine right next to the stop and it is available in English, so buying a ticket is easy and transport is cheap also! Taking a taxi from hotel to city center will cost approx. 30 PLN, and bus will cost 5 PLN/one way. The hotel also gives services like print of documents and they also pay back your money if you cut short your stay.The dark side is that beds are not very comfortable, they are just ok. The length of quilts is a little small, so a tall person will have trouble. The rooms are not sound proof or quiet, so any noise in corridor can wake you up. Besides this there is nothing very bad to mention. If you are planning to stay in group, cheap and not far from city center then this place is highly recommended.

There are three hotels next to each other, with the names of Atos, Portos and Aramis, the Three Musketeers. Apparently, this one was the less lucky of the three.

Everything about the Aramis Hotel is just depressing, the room lights, the carpets, the small tv, the bathroom. It's an old apartment building from the Communist era turned into a \"hotel\". And it is not cheap (by Polish standards)!

Hotel appeared relic from Communist era. The only member of staff who had working knowledge of English was Kamil. All the others were more than happy to misunderstand and determinedly misinform. Restaurant staff told me I couldn't use their restaurant as I was not on their 'list'. They had to be instructed to reception to serve me. I was then given a menu with no English (even though I later discovered they also had just as many menus in English). Kamil was the hotel's saving grace and deserves a bonus. Be prepared to share breakfast with school and coach parties.

Very good considering how little it costs. The room has everything I need and is surprisingly pretty clean. The hotel is located near the bus station MANGALIA. There are direct buses from the airport and downtown. The breakfast and dinner are not expensive and pretty good. I'd recommend this place for those whose budget is limited.

When you arrive at the hotel, the outside is not convincing, however when you walk into your room everything is right! The rooms are big and the beds are confortable, everything is clean. I totally recomend this hotel, its not far from the center and the hotel has a security gard outside. Better than i expected

We spent one night here and it was great. We are travelling from city to city in Europe and are using hostels and hotels along the way that are dog friendly as ours is with us. The room was cheap, the dog was welcome and everything was clean. Perfect.

Cardboard toilet paper. Woken up at half 1 in the morning by a fire alarm which was apparently course by a hot shower? Neighbourhood was okay, though the whole of the car park was full of police vans and cars. Which made us feel on one hand at ease on the other scared of why? Dated fashion interior and lifts. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone even for a cheap stay.

Out there, but affordable and clean

It's a little off the beaten path, but totally worth the savings. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The building all looks extremely soviet-era but once you get over the fact that it looks like a prison, you find it is a great place to stay. The bus and tram service takes only a few minutes into town and you only have to wait 5 or 10 minutes for the next bus. A great deal.

Conveniently situated on bus routes to/from the city centre and airport, and with shops nearby. The hotel and room quality were better than I would have expected from a 1-star rated hotel. Good connection with public transportation system - direct bus (148) from the Chopen airport, a few busses connect with city center. Bus stop is very close to the hotel. A shopping mall with Carrefour supermarket is 15 minutes walk from the hotel. Good breakfast is served from 6:30 to 10:30 in the morning. Free wifi. Friendly personnel at front desk.

It was well worth what we paid.

That was the third time that I have stayed at Hotel Aramis since November and I have always been satisfied with the conditions there with regard to the rooms. I have dined there three times and it was always satisfactory. The most recent stay was the first one on which I was accompanied by my wife. I would have no hesitation in staying there again if I ever return to Warsaw. The only drawbacks was the supply of fair sized hand towels instead of the larger bath towels and the difficulty of getting accurate directions from the staff in reception. I read where one reviewer complained about the 'slowness' of the lifts and I was astonished to see that. There are four lifts quite adjacant to each other in the lobby and in all the time I have spent there I never once had to wait more than about twenty seconds for the arrival of one.

The best one star hotel I ever stayed in

I liked staying in Hotel Aramis. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is a bit far out but there is a good bus service to it and it can take anywhere between fifteen and thirty minutes depending on the level of traffic on the road at the time, but mostly the bus got me in or out in fifteen minutes. I have stayed there alone twice since November 2012 and I will be back again in late March with my wife. I had the same room with twin beds each time and I hope to have it again next time, it is room 202. I have noticed that some reviewers have complained about the speed and condition of the elevators - well I dont know how that could be; there are four lifts, all in the front of the lobby and I never had to wait more than ten or fifteen seconds for one to arrive after I pressed the relevant buttons and thy whizzed up to the second floor in a few seconds. I have only used the restaurant twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner and the fare was fine on both occasions but it simply wasn't convenient for me to dine there any more often. When the snow was thick on the ground there was a guy on a small snow plough clearing both of two paths to the front entrance from the car park and the street at six in the morning which was important for me because I generally go off sightseeing before seven. I would never think of even looking for an alternative place to stay any time I ever get to visit Warsaw in the future.

Perfect base if you're looking to explore.

Location is just outside of the city centre but only a short bus ride away and the buses run very regularly and are extremely cheap. My girlfriend and I are from England and when we arrived the hotel reminded us of a block of flats from a council estate so it looked a little old skool but that's got to be expected considering where you are in the world. The hotel is pretty basic, and we liked it, it is a bit of a throw back but that added character to the place in our opinion, a little daunting on first view but once you get into your room and it's nice and clean, has all the facilities you need you warm to the place, or at least we did. The food in the restaurant surprised us more than anything, it was really good and we were expecting it to be crap in all honesty, it was fresh and good value for money, a real nice surprise. We went to Warsaw on a whim, wanted a little break somewhere cheap and we like to explore new places, we had a wonderful time, Warsaw is a real contrast of the old and new, steeped in history and despite what anyone else says about expense, it's as cheap as chips out in Poland, we hung out in the Old Town mostly and nothing was expensive.... nothing!

This hotel suits anyone looking for a cheap base to explore the City, it's not a 5 star, luxury hotel, it is clean, basic, our room was spacious and for us it was perfect, if you want 5 star pay for 5 star, if you want somewhere cheap and cheerful then this is it.

Very Good Hotel For What You Pay

The hotel is very good in lots of ways. The satff was very proffesinal and nice. The room was very clean, and the hotel in general was very clean. The Food was very good. But , the Dining room was very small. Sometimes there where big groups, and u had to wait for food lots of time. And Sometimes u had to wait for free chair a long time. The hotel location is very good. It's very quiet place, next to the bus station that will take u to the city center and other interesting places in warsaw. There is free wifi in the hotel, But, only in reception. You will not be able to get wifi in any other place in the hotel. The elevators are old,and slow. But In general it's really worth the money.

Good overall. A 15 drive to the center is the only minus point, although a taxi into town cost me about 25-30 polish zloty. Clean room. Restaurant in hotel is open until 10pm and has good food at honest prices. The hotel also has free wi-fi. There is a small supermarket and \"pizzeria\" near by.

Stanard and comfort of this hotel, specially room is rather good for its price. Clean room with TV and bathroom, without WiFi but with good GSM range so if You have Your own internet access its easy to use. But if You need sth. more there is 3-stars Portos hotel 30 meters away.

Overall great hotel, minor complaints

Good hotel. Much better than I expected. I was afraid it was going to be a dump but was not the case. You can tell it's an old building but it's been renovated extensively and lots of effort to keep it up. Clean, comfy rooms. Some parts of the hotel aren't just nice and clean, but surprisingly dressed up pretty nicely. Decent free breakfast and restaurant. The staff were nice and professional...most of them spoke pretty decent English. It's conveniently next to a bus stop that will take you to the city center in about 10 minutes. The internet was kind of flaky...I stayed in two different rooms there during my week trip in Warsaw. In the first room the internet worked fairly well and was fast but would cut out periodically, forcing me to turn off/on the wireless several times, which got annoying. The second room I stayed in couldn't pick up the wireless at all, forcing me to sit out in the hallway when I wanted to use the internet. The only real complaint I had was there's no AC control in the room, not even a ceiling fan, so it got pretty stuffy a few nights...the only option was to open the windows (which wasn't always enough to cool down the room), but that would let in all the noise from the busy street outside. If I came back to Warsaw, there are definitely nicer and more convenient hotels I would try to stay in, but I would not have any problem staying at the Start Hotel Aramis if I had to. If it wasn't for the AC issue, I would have nothing bad to say about this hotel.

Basic but clean and comfortable communist era rooms, the reception staff are very helpful. There is a small restaurant which serves a limited but very tasty menu at extremely reasonable prices, just as well as there are few if any restaurants in the immediate vicinity. There is also a small shop in the hotel selling cigarettes and sundry items. Buses run from just outside the hotel to Warsaw Centralna very regularly, numbers 501 and 519. More than ample parking for drivers too. A good basic hotel at fair prices. Our taxi from the airport was 28 zloty (under £6) .... use it, well worth it.

The hotel is cheap and as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Travelling around Poland, we stayed here for one night. It is clean and functional. However, it is far too far from the centre - about 45 mins walk. A taxi from the train station cost 40zlt. The bathroom was clean, with only a shower, toilet and sink. The towels were like beer mats and as the texture of soft sand paper.

Ok for one night, but I'd choose somewhere nearer the action if I ever go back to Warsaw.

A bit down the road from the train station, but taxi drivers are not as apt to rip you off as in Prague. Easy to get to, close to bus stop, and thats the key. Staff super nice. room very comfortable, breakfast was pretty good. Excellent value.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel given what I paid for it. It was easy to get to (bus 148 from the airport, about 35 minutes) and the staff was friendly and spoke English. My room was fairly large with a working TV, comfortable bed, and reasonable bathroom. Although everything was clean, it also seemed old and in need of a renovation. That said, it is a 1-star hotel and probably wouldn't be so cheap if they renovated it. It is a comfortable hotel and fine as a place to sleep, not good if you plan on spending a lot of time in your room. It is located outside of the city center but two buses stop right across the street that take about 10-15 minutes to get into the center. I did not find the inconvenient and a day pass is very cheap, so it's not expensive either.

it's a kind of apartment hotel,not every room come with wired internet access but the comfort room. No wireless internet access at all. friendly & English speaking stuffs. Calling taxi is very convenient and they just standing outside 7/24.

Fantastic value for a budget hotel

Conveniently located for us exactly half way between the railway station and the airport, this cheap hotel came as a complete surprise. Soviet era basic architecture boded badly as the taxi pulled up, but check-in was easy and the room very spacious, clean and comfortable. Food is cheap and delicious, but drinks are expensive. Staff friendly but English may be limited. Disabled guests may have problems with access, check it out well. Localality is not central, but taxi from the city was less than US$12. The hotel is one of a group of three, the Atos, Patos and Aramis. The others would have the same status and standing if the Aramis was not available. We would recommend the whole group of \"Start\" hotels for a stop-over, but family entertainment and nightlife would be limited within the hotel, check location for outside entertainment.

Ordentliches Staubsaugen würde helfen. Unter einem Bett lag eine Naschi-Tütte vom Vorgängern und viele Krummel rundherum. Bad einfach, aber sauber.

Hotel z zewnątrz niezbyt atrakcyjny, przypominający blok mieszkalny, ale wewnątrz pokoje z łazienką czyste i bez zastrzeżeń, choć trzeba mieć świadomość, że nie jest to wysoki standard. Za to bardzo atrakcyjna cena. Idealny jako baza do zwiedzania stolicy, dobra lokalizacja w pobliżu transportu miejskiego.
Jedyny mankament to słaba izolacyjność akustyczna - wszystko słychać z korytarza, na którym każdym głos niesie się echem.
