I honestly can’t believe the most recent “positive” reviews for the Langley Hwy Hotel—they are not accurate at all.
When I arrived, there was no receptionist—just a clipboard in the window saying they’d be back in half an hour. I had to call a cellphone number and was told, “oh I just left on break… I’ll figure it out.” I ended up sitting in my car waiting until someone eventually came down.
The room itself was just as disappointing. The TV had sound but no picture (just a black screen). There wasn’t even a proper blanket on the bed—just a sheet and a thin fleece liner from the 60’s, and it was freezing overnight. The toilet wouldn’t stop running after flushing and made noise all night.
On top of that, there were stains all over the carpet, and the bed was rock hard and felt like it hasn’t been replaced in years.
Overall, the place feels extremely outdated—like nothing has been updated in decades. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again.

This hotel is to be judged not by how what special things it gives, but how it doesn't create any problems: everything is quick, quite, very low level of noise. Needs more investment, but overall is really underrated. It just doesn't create a whole lot of various problems, bureacracy etc as many hotels do.

Smells horrible,moldy smells ,dirty walls,stained carpets ,heater worked intermittently,food at bar had mold on the bun , spent hours on toilet from the food , shower was impossible to control I the morning,as it goes from red hot to ice cold every few seconds ,no coffee in office ,just absolutely the worst stay this year by far. Wouldn't recommend to anyone with a clear conscience,place is older than Jesus and is very cold and smelly.

The staff were all very pleasant that we met and the receptionist went the extra mile in that she printed up a map to show the hotel and the route we should take to the race we were running the next day as our phones did not work in Canada. Very pleasant people. They were also willing for us to check out one hour late as we wanted to shower after the race. Thank you.

Had booked 2 night stay, checked out after 1 night Lots of issues. Bed had bed bugs, Bedding was stained Flooring carpet was also stained Spides and spider webs in the corners of the room. Shower handle fell off the valve. Interior wall had some obvious shoddy repair. room door had major dents. asked for a refund which was refused

The parking was easy, even thought the parking spaces in front of my room were ALL occupied by the “movie/show” that was being filmed. The AC was noisy and worthless. The room was relatively clean, BUT SO DATED!! Needed paint. The door had gaps init to the outside. The sink/counter was at a level for a toddler. And the worst part— NO WIFI!! Front desk said it was because the “movie crew” were using it!! REALLY!! I cannot recommend this place at all.

The property was outdated, dirty and run down. We even found mens underwear on the back of the bathroom door. Very little cold water in the shower along with a curtain rod half off. The property itself had garbage laying outside. Homeless camps were set up outside within 50 feet.

First off its old, but reviews said was a good stay, check in the reception area smelt strongly of so.ething not sure what. Got my room key and pulled up to the room. From outside not too bad, air con unit in window but curtains pulled and were an odd colour. Inside i was fully expecting a dead body. It smelt bad, walls were patched but not covered, wall material peeling away from the walls, armchair stained, bed was clean but without thi king was auto checking for bugs. Love a “meth and soiled underwear” vibe?
Unsafe, dank crack den, mouldy and musty room, quite filthy, damp carpet, more stained area than not, black curtain layers were mildew saturated and the air conditioner hanging in the window was working noisily to swirl the sickly mildew smell, the walls look like something from a horror movie, completely gross. People lying on the ground outside their door, cooking tiny (illegally caught) crabs in a plug in wok. Had to step over one to get to my room. Any good reviews are fake. Staying here is like staying in an alley on East Hastings. I considered lying on the bed, but just as I wouldn’t jump into a pile of dirty socks and heavily used underwear, I couldn’t bring myself to even sit on the bed. The pool had a big tarp over it and is now being used as a mosquito factory, so fun for the whole family!
The front desk said they’d refund me as I couldn’t stay in the mould due to allergies, but that was a lie. Hotels.com tried calling them to issue a refund, and the lovely hotels.com person informed me that when they called the highway hotel, and upon identifying that it was Hotels,com calling, the receptionist from the Highway Hotel hung up on her. This after assuring me that I would be getting a refund because I had mould allergies and could not stay there. Then, they would not answer their call.

The walls were covered with dirt that could have been blood. There are no coffee pots and no coffee available. The toilet seat was loose. Location I’d decent with pub and liquor store on site. Very disappointing and I would not recommend this hotel and will not stay again
