Only bad observation is the condition of the Duvet inserts… they need to be gotten rid off! They are stain? Dirty and old! Otherwise a nice hotel… but I would not stay there until you as the client can confirm the cover on your bed is not worthy of a dumpster!

Hotel is in nice location away from the main throng. A 15 minute walk will get you to the old town albeit its all uphill. Lovely big room which had a fully equipped kitchen. No dishtowel or washing up liquid provided though. Air conditioning works really well. Large bathroom which was quite dimly lit. The bathroom cabinet looked like it should have lit up but it didnt seem to work. The shower was really good and very powerful but be aware that it is a deep bath and stepping up and out could be trickly if you were slightly immobile. There was no other mirror in the room so drying your hair, doing your make up was a problem. Breakfast was good with a nice choice of continental foods. My only negative was that they had no English breakfast tea for 2 consecutive days despite many guests asking for them.

Lovely room, up a bit of a hill though

Lovely, spacious room with small kitchen area including fridge, hob, microwave etc. as well as a proper sofa for relaxing, and a decent bathroom.
Our room was on the ground floor very near reception and there was some noise from the outside terrace.
We also had an issue with what sounded like running water/toilet in the room upstairs which went on for some time and couldn't be resolved by the receptionist (though she did try). Annoying, it stopped just before she came to our room to listen, and then started again sometime later - but this was only on 1 night, so likely not a common issue.
Be aware that the hotel/rooms are up a hill away from the main centre, with virtually no public transport to take you close - and even if there were, the entrance to reception is up a quite steep cobbled driveway, and then some steps. Those with mobility issues might struggle.
However, Bolt taxis are available and cheap (only €13 to go to the airport) so might be a solution if the hill is too much.
There's little else very close to the hotel - shops, restaurants etc. which meant going into the centre to eat (also most supermarkets, including Tesco Express, are closed on Sunday - be prepared).
All in all, lovely room, but the location was less than ideal.

This apartment at Mamaison was more than I expected! It was really comfortable with a living room, kitchen, dining room, bedroom, and two bathrooms: one with a bathtub and sink, and the other one with a toilet and sink. The closets were enough for our needs. The refrigerator was a good size for a short stay. Everything was lovely! The receptionist was super kind and very friendly! My husband and I really loved our stay here.

The receptionist was lovely and the room was nice. The breakfast was great with plenty of options. Unfortunately, the walls were ‘paper thin’ and we could hear absolutely everything. We couldn’t hear outside traffic but other guests to the sides of us and above us. The first night we had to listen to a couple ‘enjoying themselves’ and the second night we had a child crying for a good 4 hours on and off, then the family woke up at 6am which woke us up. We could literally hear full conversations, it felt like there were in the same room as us :-( I haven’t slept so badly in a hotel before and never normally one to comment.

Apartment was very well situated in a quiet area of the city. Good price as well.

A bit rough around the edges in terms of quality within the apartment itself with a broken bedside drawer and a damp patch on the ceiling above the bed.

All in all however, pretty good and would consider staying there again for a similar price of returning to Bratislava.

Very bad experience - improvements needed for 4s

We had not even entered the room and the disappointment started: the paint on the door was peeled off. Once we stepped in, the floor was sticky - probably from the detergent used. We could not sit on the couch, because it was filthy. We made the mistake to lift the pillows and underneath it was even worse. The furniture needs a replacement as all wardrobes were malfunctioning. When we turned on the water in the bathtub, some yellow substance washed off the tub. All in all, a very bad experience. Too bad for the location, as it is convenient, the same the size of the room - big enough for a family of three. The receptionist was very helpful, offering a good service. Definitely not what you expect when you book and pay for a 4 stars experience

I really enjoyed the location. Staff was always helpful. Walkable distances to old town and other areas of interest. Buses and scooters down the street available as well. generally a decent stay all in all. Great room size and bathroom. Spa service was decent as well. Only slight knock is allergy friendliness. There are a lot of wall to wall carpets that make it sub optimal if you hypoallergenic. Apart from that good value for money and i would deffo stay here again if the prices are still reasonable in the future.

Booked the hotel with friends, 4 of us in total. A nice steady 10 min walk into Bratislava Centre. We both had a business suite which was fantastic. Lots of room with plenty of space, shower,bath and a separate toilet. The bed was very comfortable and the room had air-con along with all the other bits and bobs you need in self catering accommodation. Staff very more than helpful even before we landed answering any questions we had and more than happy to help us out when we were there. 100% i will tell friends about this place and return again if visiting Bratislava.

I was extremely satisfied especially with the quiet location,
I had my best sleeping experience...
I also enjoyed the relax in the bathtub, was very fresh the next morning. The breakfast was good with a variety of choices. When I will be in Bratislava again, this hotel will definitely be one of my favourites. The appartment is also equipped with kitchenette, fridge, sound system etc., so is very suitable also for longer stays, though I stayed only 1 night from Saturday till Sunday...

Calling it 4 star is a bold move

Years ago, I used to work as a hotel reviewer. One hotel I had to review was MaMaison in Prague. It was fantastic. When I saw MaMaison in Bratislava, I was expected a similar condition. Boy, was I setting myself up.

Since my arrival, I have come to find out that there is a renovated part of the hotel and an unrenovated part (?) and I'm in the latter. It does look like something was done since 1980, but it was done poorly and doesn't even come close to resembling the pictures online. Sure, there's a great view of the castle from my room but that's it. There's a kitchen which would be great if I wanted to cook, but I don't know what we'd eat on since there are no plates and no silverware. For a 4-star hotel, I would've expected a bottle of water - but no. The \"designer\" toiletries basically means they're using a brand you've seen before - calling it designer really sets one up for expectation. There was only shower gel and hand wash - no lotion or anything else. I asked about room service and was told that since no one really used it, it wasn't available regardless of what the website said. Did I sleep ok? Yes. The bed was comfortable. Was it an overall decent stay for 80 bucks? Yes. However, it should be a 2-3 star, max (though I've stayed in many better 3 stars before). A vacuum would do wonders for the carpet. It was quiet and my car was safe but calling it a 4 star hotel is a stretch.

I didn't even bother asking about my free bottle of wine.

The hotel is very modern with friendly staff. Room was spacious and the bed was so comfy. Only downfall we had was it was too hot in the room and the air conditioning wouldn’t go below 19 degrees so we slept with the windows open. The hotel is a 10 minute walk away from the old town and its all up hill to get back to the hotel. It cost us €8 to get to the hotel in a Uber don’t use their local taxis.

Paid parking onsite in lot out front. Very friendly reception ladies with differing amounts of English spoken. Cookies and lemon water in reception. Large elevator. Gym in the basement. Apartment had two rooms. Fantastic quick Internet. The bedroom had a queen/king bed with a lot of room. The bathroom was spacious with a full tub and shower. The kitchen is fully equipped (other than a wine bottle opener) and there is a table, 2 chairs, sofa and large TV. The air conditioning unit is only in the living area, so it didn’t reach the bedroom too well. We opened the windows to let in the air instead. No bugs. You can walk, all downhill, to the old town within 20 minutes or so. There’s an interesting cemetery to see on the right as you walk down.

Lovely hotel a ten minute walk from old Town Bratislava. It is up a hill and the final 15 meters are pretty steep, just FYI.

Like other reviewers I wasn't particularly impressed by the breakfast, and I don't think it's worth €10 per person. Luckily our room had a kitchenette and there's a shop around the corner so easy to sort own breakfast. Staff were lovely and room nice and clean. AC was a big hit as it was 30+ all week.

Well, it would be hard to recommend this hotel. During my stay the whole door fell out. It was just glued in - terrible craftsmanship. The hot water did not work either, the water was just lukewarm. You have to pay for parking on hotel property, as well as for breakfast.

Disappointing, can't understand how this is a 4*. Everything about this hotel is tired, the staff, the appearance of the rooms and most definitely the cleaners. The sad fact is that with not a great deal of effort this place could be great. Yes, we got a 'suite' with a small kictchen etc - but there were hairs all over the bathroom and toilet floors. Reception promised to get it cleaned, but when we came back at bedtime they were still there and we had to 'mop' them up ourselves (at 11.30pm at night) as best we could with wet-wipes. The toilet-roll holder was off the wall and the shower rail was about to fall off (we had to be extremely careful when adjusting the height of the shower head). And then when in bed, we saw the large horrrible brown damp patch on the ceiling - bigger than a dinner plate; disgusting. Re breakfast, the Reception lady advised if we book breakfast before a certain time the evening before, it would be 10 Euros each per day, but if booked after the cut off the price would double to 20 Euros each (???) so because of that (not to mention the standard of cleanliness) we ate breakfasts elsewhere. Also, the hotel had advised us by email that a taxi from the train station would be 3 - 5 Euro so we got them to book it for us and the taxi man charged 15 Euro. I mentioned this to the lady on Reception and she just shrugged. The youg guy at Checkout seemed confused & alternated between two computers before finally confirming OK, no pleasantries whatsover.

Property and rooms were excellent.
Most staff were friendly and helpful but one in particular was unhelpful, obstructive and unpleasant when we had an issue with the room key.

The hotel is poorly located up a very steep hill some two miles from the old town. The entrance to the hotel is up a stretch of cobbles followed by a set of steep steps. No assistance is offered with the luggage..On arrival the receptionist walked off into an adjoining room without the courtesy of an 'hello' or 'Ill be with you in a moment'. After several minutes I had to ring the bell to attract any attention.Check in was curt.The room was OK except when it came to cleaning. Their conception of cleaning is to change the towels and if you are lucky to empty the bins. The floor was dirty but not cleaned and the bed was not made. When I complained I was told that they only clean the floor once every three days and that the cleaner had overlooked bin emptying and bed making. At no time was there an apology - simply a denial that anything was wrong. There is no restaurant in the hotel.

Nice modern room, plenty of space, excellent staff service. It is a 20 minute walk into the old town which is uphill on the way back. There are no tea/coffee facilities in room but available at reception.

Pleasant walk into the city. The apartment I had was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast at 10 Euros was ok. Car parking on site was good.
