Spent 2 nights to explore Bratislava, and enjoyed our stay. Convenient for walking throughout old city center, to Twin City ferry terminal, and public transportation. Street outside hotel is somewhat busy with noise late at night. Room was comfortable and breakfast was very good. Overall, a good stay.

Very nice breakfast buffett, included in the room rate. Gluten-Free bread for my daughter. Very close walk to the Donau/Danube, to take the Twin Cities Liner to Wien. A very nice way to go from Bratislava to Vienna. In the Pedestrian Zone of Bratislava.

Arrived early and got shown straight to our room which was actually the penthouse, a nice surprise. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was ‘ok’, nothing special. Also, our room was a tad too light in the morning. That said, I’d definitely recommend it and stay there again.

Maybe a nice hotel a while ago….

Bit of a last minute trip for work so can’t say whether we received good value for money as most hotels were quite expensive at the time. It’s clearly aimed at the business market but the rooms and public areas are showing their age (albeit very clean). The pillows on the sofas for example in the reception area are completely flat and look quite funny! We had a suite which felt quite bare with no artwork on the walls and air conditioning that had no discernible effect on the unbearable temperature of the room (BTS was in the late teens at the time so not hot). Given the standard of room it was quite noisy from neighbours above and below - there were dogs in the room next to us to complete the experience! The shower tray had no fall on it so the bathroom flooded and it all felt a little dated. Breakfast was basic at best and the bar was closed at 8pm when we came back from our evening stroll. It’s a shame we can’t be more positive as some of the staff were very friendly but on the basis of the room, I cannot recommend this hotel.

The location is good and you can walk to the old city in a few minutes but that’s about it. The breakfast was an absolute disaster. I was not able to have access to the bar or the sitting area twice, because they have “ a private function “ ! So, I paid a high price for my room for this hotel category in the low season ( December) but I wasNOT ALLOWED YO USE THE COMMON SPACES BUT OUTSIDERS WHO DON’T RESIDE IN THE HOTEL CAN !!!
I will never go back or recommend it to anyone EVER.
I was misled by the information on the booking site. Very, very disappointed.

Shower pressure excellent!

Choose this hotel for the shower pressure alone as best so far and have been travelling for three weeks through the Balkans. A few of blocks away from the old town and the other direction is a brand new huge shopping centre - just don’t go into COS if you are a tourist as the security guard trails you around the store if you are wearing walking shoes (they were $250) with blon d hair and don’t look Sla vic. Typical European firm king size bed and we took our own top sheet though used the bed spread rather than our cashmere travel throw as summer and we don’t like thick doonas, and typical European non-fluffy towels. Very clean but only one conveniently placed power point for the phone charger. Fabulous large feather pillows.

Hard to find, but worth the drama.

Great location, although extremely difficult to find by road, even using GPS navigation, needed local people riding with us in our car to guide us to the hotel. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was excellent.

Good breakfast, smelly room

Our room wasn't the greatest, it smelled of formerly being a smoking room.

The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful, they let us park our car in the hotel garage for free for 4 hrs before we moved our park to friends office parking space.

Breakfast was excellent and the service was caring and always on hand.

Was good. We had two twin beds, mine was comfy but my husband said his sank in the middle. They have a wellness area which is good. Bar seemed to be closed at night. Not too many restaurants open, as not many tourists have returned yet. Just around corner from city center walking area. Great breakfast.

בלילה הראשון היה סביר למרות שמזדרון בקומה שלנו היה עם ריח לא נעים. אחרי ארוחת בוקר הודיעו לנו שאנחנו היחידים במלון ולכן לא יהיה אף אחד בקבלה ואנו נצטרך לפתוח את המלון עם הכרטיס שלנו-אם הייתי רוצה לגור במקום ללא נוכחות של נותן השירות הייתי שוכרת דירה ומשלמת פחות. בערב לא היה מים חמים ולא היה לי למי לפנות. בבוקר למחרת זה המשיך בכך שגם לא הייתה ארוחת בוקר בופה אלא נתנו לנו תפריט שחצי ממנו לא היה במלאי. בסוף אכלנו חביתה עם גבינה וקצת ירקות בצד ושתינו קפה. גם בבוקר למחרת הדפוס הזה חזר על עצמו. אז חוץ ממיקום קרוב למרכז ומיזוג . אויר לא הייתי ממליצה על שהות במלון זה. אגב בכל השהות לא ניקו אצלנו וגם לא שאלו אם צריכים משהו מבחינת ניקיון

We stay here for 3 nights in September 2019. The hotel was great. A clean decent size room, a very good breakfast, staff where very friendly and helpful (for example, they stored our bags as we had a later flight) and the hotel was in a good quiet location. We where tourist and the hotel is in a good location for tourists. Sites are close and there are plenty of restaurants within a short walk. General Bratislava old town is easy to walk around and so we only used public transport to get to Slavin and Devin. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Hotel Avance. It s location is excellent...close to all the sights of the historic Old Town and the River. The Hotel has a relatively small number of rooms which enables the staff to have time to engage with visitors.All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean and although facing the street, it was quiet at all times. The breakfast was very good. There was a wide choice and additional hot food could also be ordered. We would highly recommend Hotel Avance for a stay in Bratislava!

Maybe an overhaul of the a/c would aid the efficiency of room cooling but that said a great stop in a wonderful vibrant and attractive city.

The hotel is good and centrally located. It has limited parking capacity. The main problem I had is with the outlets. There are a grand total of two I could use in my room -- one of which is the boiler that I had to unplug. The service is pleasant, though.

Don’t even bother taking any tours proposed by the receptionists, they have no idea what they are talking about. One didn’t even know where we had to go to take the bus for the tour, we had to google the place on our own since she had no clue where it was or what the address was. They sell tours for which they don’t know anything and this caused us to not visit Bratislava even if we were there for 24 hours since we missed the tour because of the staff. And more importantly the staff did nothing about it. Worst hotel ever!!!!’

Nice modern hotel within walking distance of old town and most sites.
Front desk staff is helpful and speaks English very well. Kitchen staff had a language barrier but they did everything possible to still be helpful. Beds where comfortable but they need average size pillows instead of the one huge pillow and on tiny pillow.

Great little boutique hotel owned and operated by a very nice couple – supported by very good staff. Friendly. Helpful. Good natured. I would definitely stay here again. The room was comfortable and the bathroom recently renovated so it was clean and fairly modern. An easy walk to the town centre and an even easier walk to the train station.

Great and super safe location

Bratislava is not a popular tourist destination like some other European cities so if you’re wondering where to stay in this city then this hotel is an EXCELLENT choice. You count ask for a better and safer location as it is literally across the street from a police station. The hotel is super clean and looks almost new, the rooms are spacious and so are the bathrooms. The breakfast was very thorough, with delicious pastries and crisp croissants. Meats, cheeses and also fruits. Great stay, would stay there again.

Stayed in the hotel Avance for New Year's Eve and it was perfect! The location couldn't be better. It was less than 100m from the Riverfront where the fireworks were. But also across the street from the main police station so very safe. The tram 8 drops you in 1 minute walking distance from the hotel and makes it very easy to get around (to and from the train station or town). But everything is in close walking distance. The hotel was in perfect condition and a superior room with two Juliette balconies. It was loud at times, but it was New Years Eve, so was expected. It was a perfect stay, would highly recommend!

Really nice modern hotel reasonably priced with excellent facilities. We stayed as a family of four in a suite and the room was set up with a cotbed and extra bed without us having to request it. The service was similarly efficient throughout our short stay. I would probably not look at any other hotel in BA after staying here.

Nice quiet hotel extremely close to OLD town

We spent a night here and were given a spacious apartment for two adults and two kids (16 and 11). Well appointed room very close to the OLD town attractions (2-3 mins walk). Only drawback was that the AC didn't cool well and there is no staff available in the night to fix it. Also, room could benefit with addition of a coffee maker. Yet, overall a nice stay with helpful reception staff.

It had a lovely balcony to sit out in and was in a great location - close to river, old town, etc. Seemed slightly more geared towards the business's traveller (there was a conference on) but it was perfect for us- two adults and two cheered aged 5 and 10. Great stay!

I stayed at the Hotel Avance for four nights at the end of January 2016.

The hotel is next to the Slovakian Philarmonic (amazing architecture) and 5 minutes away on foot from the Old Town. Tram station is 2 minutes away and very well connected to the rest of the city. I booked the airport pick up / drop-off service - €20 each way (15 minutes drive) - which went seemless, not to mention the top notch Mercedes cars...!

Staff were brilliant and extremely helpful (given the fact that I confused them with my various ice skating tickets...)

Excellent breakfast!

I will be going back in the summer with my friends and definitely stay at the Hotel Avance!

Booked this hotel by going off the ratings of other guests. We was more than happy with it. Yes its a small back street hotel BUT how convenient to everything. The location is superb. Two blocks away from the old town ( less than a 5 minute walk ) one block from the Danube, great for the port if you are wanting to take a river trip. Within easy walking distance to the new town, including a huge shopping mall and a huge Tesco. Little supermarkets within a minutes walk, it has everything you could need for a easy holiday in Bratislava.

The hotel, was SPOTLESSLY clean, could not fault it in any way. Breakfast was plentyful, from cold meat and cheese's to a hot selection of food, can almost make a full English breakfast. We couldn't have asked for more.

The staff are efficient and polite. At first I thought they came over unfriendly but that isnt the case at all. If you need anything, or any help they do 100% to help you.

I would highly reccomend this hotel to family and friends.

All in all we found it EXCELLENT.

Perfect! Loads of space and great beds and bathroom. With two children everything was easy... And right in the center.

We were pleased by the hotel location in the center of the Bratislava old city. The only problem was the parking. Hotel does not have parking and we used local city parking.

Nice hotel w/ convenient location

We took the cruise from Vienna to Bratislava and get off at the Danube river, the hotel is just 5-10mins walk from the port, although we have heavy luggage. A trams station is just near by the hotel and most of the viewing points in Bratislava can be visited by walk from the hotel. It is very convenience.

The room is very clean, the breakfast is good, and the staffs are very nice. Although we have so many questions (as it is our first time visit), they answer our every single question in detail with patient. Thank you very much. :)

Great hotel in the heart of Bratislava

Avance was clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a good amount of counter space. The breakfast had a lot of variety.

The hotel website has a great video demonstrating how to park your car at the hotel parking garage. This was helpful, because we arrived to the hotel by car around 11 pm. The garage probably has 10 parking spaces total, but luckily there were still 2 spots left.
