I had a very good experience at this hotel.
First of all, I must mention the amazing, warm, and friendly staff — this is what truly made the hotel feel special and allowed me to really enjoy my stay.
At one point, my safe was stuck, and the kind and polite gentleman at the reception immediately found a solution and came to help me right away.
The woman who checked me in was also very considerate. I explained to her that I was feeling cold and that I am sensitive to low temperatures, and she kindly brought me a heater.
I really appreciated how supportive the staff were and how they always offered quick and effective solutions.
Because of this, I can truly say that this is an amazing hotel

And my room is good for solo and the food excellant

The room was very nice, clean and spacious and The shower was very powerful and hot.
The breakfast was nice with a decent selection of cereal, fruit, continental, hot food, cakes and bread. The location was excellent, being within walking distance of the main attractions and restaurants. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Lovely, clean and well presented hotel which ticks most boxes. Rooms have free access to Netflix which is a nice feature. Breakfast is fine but it would be good if they had non-dairy milk out rather than having to ask for it. My only issue at the hotel was the road noise. If you're a light sleeper, you may struggle with the noise outside, particularly on the first floor. I spoke to reception and was told that all of the standard double rooms faced the road. I opted to downgrade to a single room on an upper floor at the rear of the building. It was so much quieter and more peaceful enabling a proper night's sleep. I would recommend the hotel if you have a room that faces the back as it is a lovely place.

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, which is conveniently located on a main road about a 15 minute walk from the central bus station (located in a large shopping mall) and a 10 minute walk in the opposite direction to Bratislava old town. Restaurants and shopping are nearby, as is a Leidl grocery store. The hotel has a nice breakfast and professional staff. The rooms have older decor but are very functional and include a refrigerator/mini bar, a safe, a heat lamp in the bathroom & good working climate control. A welcome drink is offered at check-in and the front desk is staffed all night long. Suggestions for improvements include a better gym with updated equipment, longer breakfast hours with almond milk or non-dairy items available, and softer/thicker cotton bed linens. Despite these minor items, we had a great time at this hotel and would recommend it. The restaurants nearby were wonderful (SOHO and Basilico).

The hotel is very nice and breakfast was wonderful. Our bubbler /spa tub did not work or we just did not know how to use it and once in…kinda late to call for directions.
When you walk outside of hotel … first impression is area a little sketchy… but we actually had no problems even walking our dogs…and few blocks away the town is fabulous! I give it 5 stars for kindness and breakfast lady who makes best hot chocolate 10 stars!

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Bratislava

Beautiful hotel. The rooms are lovely and the jacuzzi was such an amazing final touch. The check in staff were so nice and everything about our stay was perfect. Lovely buffet breakfast with great coffee. Couldn’t have asked for more. Location is perfect for exploring Bratislava and for accessing transport links. Truly a 5* service. The staff there need a special mention for their outstanding professionalism and kindness.

Nice hotel in a quiet location but near the centre

Nice clean room with very comfortable beds. We were facing the road but there was no traffic noise. Breakfast choice was extensive and all the staff were very friendly. It's just a short walk to the Old Town and I'd definitely use it again.

The negatives: there was no bar in the evening and the restaurant isn't open in the evenings but the set meal price for lunch looked very good. There are other restaurants in the area which were good but when it's cold (we went for the Christmas markets) it would be nice to eat in the hotel. Small complaints though

This is a great hotel and everything about it was great. Breakfast really good and kept topping it up. Walking distance everywhere. Tram station short stroll away. Lady who checked us in was really nice and helpfull as was the man who checked us out; as well as the breakfast staff. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

There was a good choice. Staff were helpful. The room was a single room and it was bigger than I thought it would be. It was very clean and had everything I needed.

This hotel is a little gem!

We had a fabulous stay at this hotel. The experience was great since sending the first email (to book the parking space) until we left with a little gift (a magnet card of Bratislava). The reception staff was polite and helpful, they gave us some extra water when we used all in our mini bar. The room with jacuzzi was clean, spacious and a perfect treat after a long day at work. Breakfast was brilliant, much more variety that we had expected! A gym is very compact but for some quick basic workout is sufficient. The minibar has everything, even some healthy food choices and chewing gums. Overall, this a little gem only a 3-5 min walk from the centre of old town but in a very quiet neighborhood. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who looks for a comfortable stay in the city 🙂

Great location, good breakfast, rooms are comfortable however a bit dated. Reception Staff was professional and helpful. However staff at breakfast were not engaged and lack maturity. Also, guests cannot help themselves with coffee, it had to be one of the staff serving...they took a long time to serve coffee or sometimes they forgot about it, we had to remind them a few times...really bad and does not make any sense - why not allowing customers to have coffee as they please like in most hotels?!

This property lives up to its reputation as being an excellent hotel. I was really impressed with my room; cleanliness, conveniences like hooks and shelves, nice large shower, tasteful decor, great location close to old town and the mall and friendly helpful staff. Attentive service at breakfast with a lovely assortment of food plus my friend enjoyed the different types of coffee. Relaxing and laid back atmosphere. I would definitely stay at Danubia Gate hotel again!

Can't complain about anything. Staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast buffet was a nice spread in the morning, with plenty of options for any the various diets.

I used their gym a couple times, which although was simple, there were enough free weights, bars, and a few benches and machines for put together a good workout.

The location is very quiet, but Bratislava is small, so there are plenty of public transport options and restaurants within a 5-15 minute walk.

Very nice stay, but was surprised it was a 4.7 stars. Location is only 5 minute walk to old Town which was great. Room was fine.. Clean.. Decent amenities.. They only have heat or air conditioning so if you come in the in between months it might be a problem as my room was hot and only the heat worked. Very nice hotel though.. This is a well appointed hotel within easy reach ( approx 10 mins walk) of the Old Town centre. The bedroom was spacious with comfortable chairs and a sofa in the deluxe room - there was also a thermomassage bath to telax in. Thete were 3 TVs available. We experienced a leak through our bathroom ceiling but this was tesolved promptly with little fuss. Breakfast in the ground floor dining area offered a good variety of tasty food including local produce. The waiting staff were very helpful. Getting soy milk instead of dairy was no problem

The location was perfect. It's 5 minutes walk from the Old Town and quiet because it actually isn't in the Old Town. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly; they seemed to take a real interest in what we did - but were in no way intrusive.
It is very close to the trams for the main railway station (handy for a trip to Vienna) and also to the Ice Hockey and other stadiums.

Right near the heart of Bratislava. Easy to get anywhere. Clean, good hearty breakfast. Good staff to direct you wherever you need to go. Took train from Prague to Bratislava. Cost me less than 1 Euro to get from the station to the hotel. Glad I stayed there.

The room was spacious and well appointed although the toilet room inside the bathroom was tiny!

This hotel suited our needs well. It was very centrally located and the staff were very attentive and courteous. On the morning of our leaving st 04.30am the hotel had a breakfast box each for my wife and I and a taxi also.
On the downside there were no external lighting eliminating the building which give it a look of being closed and dreary which was not the case. We would stay again.

Breakfast was always a treat. A somewhat small space, but with everything tasting great! Front desk was always helpful. Very good location. Don’t miss Saint Elizabeth Cathedral just around the corner from the hotel. It’s a beautiful blue. The UFO tower was spectacular as well.

A really enjoyable stay during my first trip to Bratislava. The Hotel is great due to the feel of the small hotel but the rooms are like you are in a big hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great and the service was excellent once again. The location is also good you are just outside the old town but only a few mins walk away. I would definatly look to stay at this hotel again if I was to go back to Bratislava.

Mostly great but safety at hotel was compromised

Room was perfect. Customer service was outstanding. There were only 2 things I did not appreciate: (1) The 10 Euro charge for losing the plastic key card (non-standard and seems excessive -- in all my international travels, this is always replaced without charge as the actual cost of the plastic card to the hotel is less than 30 cents). (2) The hotel said that it was impossible to deactivate the lost hotel key card, which incidentally bears the name of the hotel directly on the key. So, this means that anyone who finds my lost hotel key could have come back to the hotel and tried the key on all of the doors until they opened my door. This is highly insecure from both a theft standpoint and a personal safety. In all my extensive international travels, it has always been my experience that a hotel will inactivate lost keys before issuing a new one. Because the hotel was not able to make this standard accommodation, my personal safety was put at risk because anyone who found that lost hotel key could have broken in my hotel room in the middle of the night when I was sleeping in the room. Not cool. The hotel should reconsider its capabilities when dealing with lost plastic key cards so that the safety of its guests are not threatened.

Not your basic same ol/same ol hotel. Beautifully designed, authentic art deco details everywhere. The friendly staff was over-the-top helpful, the Continental breakfast was superb. Would definitely return, just hope they don't change/update the integrity of the architecture and interior design.

The staff was extremely friendly and I will recommend this hotel, especially because of the nice staff and location. The only things I didn't like were the noise level, I could hear my neighbors and the quality of the towels (they were ripped two days in a row) and the housekeeper didn't bother to make the beds. But overall, it was worth the stay.

Cruisinbob review: A lovely small hotel located a few minutes from Old Town. Room was nice size and the bathroom was modern with all the toilet amenities, front desk staff were simply awesome they even provided local restaurants recommendations and gave you discount coupons, hotel breakfast was tasty and you even get complimentary sparking wine in the evening. Perhaps the best hotel in Bratislava.

I had a single room with modern furniture, a minibar, computer,safe, kettle, TV and a decent bathroom/shower. The floorspace was good and there was a space to put my suitcase. The breakfast buffet was good and they also offer lunch and dinner at the restaurant downstairs. I had lunch there on one day and the food was good quality. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The location was around 10 mins walk from the old town and it was pretty much a straight road to walk there. I felt very safe in the area walking around. Wifi was good in the room.

Surprising Gem

The staff went above and beyond to make me comfortable. The single room was large and nicely decorated. During a heat wave the AC was wonderful. There was parking behind the hotel, a little tight but on street would have been impossible. It was an easy, short walk to old town. It's a university neighborhood but transitioning. I still always felt safe as a single woman traveler.

Great Hotel Minutes From The Sights

I have travelled most of europe and stayed in a lot of hotels and I can safely say this is one of the best I have ever been to. It is in a fantastic location, close to the shops and sights, the bus station is only a 10 minute walk away and overall Bratislava is a wonderful city to visit. Plus there are so many trips to do just outside of the city as well. There is so much to do and see plus it is a very inexpensive place to visit. I would definitely recommend this amazing city to anyone.

The hotel was impeccably clean and the room comfortable with all the amenities you might need. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of fresh food but what made our stay was the staff who were without exception welcoming and friendly; they could not have been more helpful.

Bratislava Gem

Hotel Danubia Gate was a wonderful experience where we were greeted with a celebratory beverage on our arrival. The staff were helpful and accommodating and the breakfasts were delicious and offered a great variety of options. We were given a chocolate when we left. I would definitely return and highly recommend Danubia Gate.

The room was AMAZING! The bathroom has a two-person jet tub. The room itself is beautiful and modern. We had three tvs, including one hanging over the bed and one in the bathroom. It felt like we were royalty! They also had the best complimentary free breakfast I have ever had, with fruits, fresh juices, smoothies, meats, pastries and cheeses. This food, like our room service, was delicious.

The hotel is a short distance from the train station, about a ten minute taxi ride. Just around the corner is the blue church, and about ten minutes walk from the castle walls and cute little downtown area.

At check in we were offered complimentary sparkling wine! The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only regret is that we were only in town for one night! Oh yeah, you're also on the riverfront!

We were downgraded from what we had booked through hotels.com. Room was pretty much a dorm room. Shower had hair in it and shower head did not work properly. Air conditioning leaked all over the wall and floor. They did let us keep our luggage there after checkout and had a decent hair dryer. Wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Nice Hotel Near Old Town

We stayed three nights at this hotel recently on our first visit to Bratislava. The location was a short walk away from the old town, and was very clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was very good, too.
