My wife and I stayed at the Devin Hotel while in Bratislava. We were thrilled with the hotel. It's located at the entrance to the old town. Lots of activities are within walking distance. The staff were highly service oriented. They also provide a great breakfast. Highly recommended!

The hotel served excellent breakfast, and the two gentleman who work in the dining room and the bar are polite , welcoming, and helpful to the guests. The lady who works daily in the dining room does not seem to like her job: she doesn’t greet the guests and keeps a stern face all the time. One morning, she did not collect the trash on my table. When the gentleman at the desk called it to her attention, after he cleaned it himself, she had an attitude and appeared angry. I didn’t feel like I was a valued customer at that moment because she cleaned the tables around me but mine. I was sitting alone at my favorite table by the window facing the gate to the Devin Cafe, and I knew she saw me. On previous occasions, when I was having breakfast with my white colleagues, she always came by and cleaned the tables. I was very disappointed when she showed bias and ignored me this time. Additionally, I experienced a similar issue with one of the housekeepers who left soiled towels in front of the bathroom door and the entrance door of my room. She also left her key on the floor in my room. This housekeeper never greeted me every time we ran into each other but would stare straight at me. She seemed unfriendly and ill-mannered at times. It was the young man at the front desk who saved the day by giving me fresh towels after apologizing for this incident. Overall, Hotel Devin offers great services and amenities, and it’s well situated on the Danube River. I highly recommend it to All.

The spa is great and what makes this property a great place to stay. If you are not using the spa I would consider other hotels. The spa is not well staffed - went two nights and both had only one staff member that was busy cleaning or just not around. Could not get a drink (including water) without leaving the pool or spa, drying off and walk to the entrance desk. At the desk you have to wait cold and wet until the staff member showed up. Love the spa but bring your own water/drink.

I was unsure upon arrival due to the unassuming entrance and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked my stay there. Very professional and friendly staff. It also has a classy pool which I had to myself one late afternoon. The location is easily accessible to the Old Town area and walks along the Danube. The bus stop and tram are also nearby.

Perfect location, very close to the old town, Christmas Market and main tourist attractions! The room was large, with comfortable beds and all the facilities, and nice views to the Danube. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choices! Special thanks to Linda, we had an unexpected personal problem, she gave us all the needed support to make changes to our booking and replan our trip. The hotel is literally advertised as sound proofed but upon checking in I could clearly hear a guy next door hacking coughing and I would not be able to sleep through that so luckily I was able to change my room after the first 10 minutes. The room is quite small for how grand the lobby is. The front desk people seem very curt and not friendly, maybe that’s the culture. The elevator down to the spa stopped working and the front desk had an “oh well”’attitude. Thanks.

I have a room facing the old town. The other side facing Danube and the street. Walking distance to the old town and very close to the bus station. The property is a bit dated but the staff are very friendly. I got woke up to the loud drilling sound in the morning. They are renovating the roof top. The drilling noise lasted all day.

Hotel rooms are bit dated (curtains with dark spots…), breakfasts are plentiful (with dry ham, cheese cuts and cakes). Although Expedia advertizes so pool is available, guests are charged in addition to enter. Hotel cleaning staff never says hello to guests.

The room had an unpleasant musty smell. The furniture was looking tired and the room also was past its prime. I raised this issue with reception who smirked and acted like I was deluded with my concerns. I was moved to another room, which was not as bad as the first. I just accepted that I had made a bad mistake in selecting this hotel, and that i was only there one night.

4-Star Hotel With 2-Star Service
The hotel was fine. Really nice location. Clean. Absolutely no complaints on the rooms. But the service...leaves a lot to be desired. The bar was abandoned for 5-10 minutes. And while I have seen that before, the front desk was similarly unstaffed for several minutes. And when the people were there, you really got the impression that either they didn't want to be there...or they didn't want you to be there. Zofia was particularly unfriendly. Maybe it was just a bad day.

The Devin Hotel is classic, clean, well located across from the Danube River and in the center of Bratislava. We have stayed in other comparable hotels there but must give the Devin the nod now. First time staying here and and excellent experience. The check in receptionist was terrific (as was all the other staff). At check in I first said we wanted a quiet room off the street area. She persuaded us to take the higher Danube River view room. She was entirely right and her persuasion is appreciated. Absolutely quiet room with an amazing view. The sauna, steam room and pool area was also an initial attraction for booking here. One of the best we have experienced in a hotel. Overall great service and stay at the Devin Hotel in Bratislava.

Solicit this is the first word that comes to mind when thinking of this hotel. There was nothing that they workers would not do for us. We loved having a pool and a fitness center. The bar staff was amazing. The restaurant waiter was lovely and kind. But the two that stand out the most were the front desk clerks, Tomas and Peter. They welcomed us warmly, they gave us information about the city, they arrange transport back to the train station for us. They were truly kind and wonderful people. There would be no question that we would stay here again if in Bratislava.

We have stayed at the Devin Hotel in the past and decided to stay there again. We booked two rooms, one for three of our adult sons and one for me and the wife. Our sons said that their room was excellent. Our room had a few issues. First off the lamp next to the bed had a broken glass shade. I reported this and the staff changed it out. The major problem was no or little hot water in the shower. For three days we had to take cold showers. We told the desk about this twice but nothing was done to correct the issue. Amazing stay. Room overlooked the Danube river and was across from the UFO tower. It was clean. The staff were great. The pool/sauna were great. The old town was just behind the hotel, the riverside ships and bars were a 5 minute walk and the UFO and park were opposite. No better location to stay.

A perfect location but read the small print!
We loved being in old town and the hotel was very nice. We even had a view of the Danube. I did not read the hotel “small print” so were quite shocked at the price to park, especially as the lot belongs to the hotel. After looking at other properties I now know this is common practice in Bratislava. Add in the price of breakfast for two people and your room price goes up by 50%. I understand this is an expensive and desirable location but these were unpleasant surprises. We also found the staff much less friendly than other places we have stayed.
