The room was fine a little tired with small scuffs on the wall but nothing major. The service from the reception was very good we requested a travel cot and it was delivered to our room within a few minutes. The breakfast was tasty with a good choice from a full English to fresh fruit. Where the hotel needs to improve is the spa, the hot tub, one of the saunas and the ice room were out of order. The pool was full of sand or grit on the bottom. The gents showers had bits of mold growing on the walls and around the soap dispenser aswell as the steam room tiles and light fittings.

I would stay again i just wouldn't use the spa facilities unless they get refreshed like the gym recently has.

We arrived after booking price of 157 pounds half board one night got there and had to pay 20 pounds for dog . . We checked our room no toilet seat lid discovered we had been put in the disabled room .wasn't happy . The main door that let us in to the building wouldn't lock so anyone could get in . We checked the pool out about 18.30 was due to close but on inspection the hot tub didn't work . I must say though the bar was good and food was fab . Not rushing back though .

My rooms windows were triple glazed, unfortunately the window catches were missing so the didn’t close. My room was right next to a busy road. Not only this there was a loud wedding party which went on till 12.30am.
I picked the hotel because it was a spa hotel with a gym. On arrival you were required to register online for the facilities but the protocol was too difficult to do and because of this they wanted me to pay £10 for the gym each time- not helpful in the slightest. They said they couldn’t move me as hotel was full, but it clearly was not. They refused cash but there were NO signs to say this anywhere in hotel or online. Bar staff were really rude when I wanted to pay in cash. I had booked for two nights as I was due to teach in Shrewsbury. I got 90 minutes sleep the first night and checked out the next morning. On the plus side when I complained about my issues they did refund me.

Had a great stay here, it had everything from great food , friendly staff and a well equipped gym and pool.
To top it off for us, it’s dog friendly too!
All the staff were super helpful and attentive to our needs, from reception to bar and gym staff.
Everyone made us feel so welcome, even the gym members. This will be a regular stop off for us whilst visiting my daughter in Liverpool.
All I can say is Thank you .

Older rooms in hotel left a lot to be desired. Carpets were dirty and furniture outdated.

Room not as advertised in pictures, should’ve been a separate shower in bathroom but it wasn’t there.

No lift although advertised and disabled guest was made to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to room.

Service from the receptionist at check in was disappointing and came across rude.

Stunning property. Staff very welcoming but simply not enough available to cope with the volume of booked guests. This had a knock on effect at dinner and breakfast with choices available, food quality and wait times.
Beautiful room booked, well appointed and clean within the eves of the building, but sadly no a/c in this type of property on what was a really warm night and this made for an unlucky nights rest. Low shower water pressure also probably accounted for staying in a high room in a really old building.

This is a beautiful property . Very spacious rooms . Very comfortable beds quite clean . The mini bar had complementary drinks but didn't know it till the next evening when we asked as we dint want to be charged any extra . Spa wasn't too bad realy they even had an area outside the spa to chill in the sun. The *1630* had amazing food loved it . The breakfast was a delight with so much variety. I realy can't fault it except for the unclear sign of where the actual reception was . Parking was very spacious and is an all rounder property for families,single or couples.

Breakfast staff deserve a medal coping with the understaffing. The orange juice is just squash. Nice poached egg available if you ask though. Good sausage and mushrooms. too. The waiting staff are lovely unlike the cold, unfriendly receptionists who should work at a GP’s!
The grounds were picturesque and the pool okay if a bit too warm in the heatwave.
Room 17 is tiny but it was clean. The noise from the boiler outside was unpleasant as was the non-existent view. Hit and miss but good value if you join Radisson and get free use of the pool. Avoid Room 17 though it is a bit of a walk and noisy.

We had a standard room and it was all clean and tidy. The wardrobe door was broken and was difficult to use but it didn’t matter to me. The only surprising thing was we didn’t have a mini bar. When we asked about it, they said they don’t provide it for standard room users. This is a 4 star hotel, so it was quite a shock as all hotels have this basic good in their rooms normally.

I'm sure the hotel is lovely. As the location and the building is stunning. However I had zero sleep the room was extremely hot the fan was broken and clicking all night and not powerful enough to keep the room cool. I think they could helped things by drawing the curtains in the rooms were guests are staying so it does not get so hot. I understand it was the weather too, but I've paid to sleep in a hotel that was so hot and no working fan.

I really wanted to like this place because it’s a nice setting, but unfortunately, the experience was marred by a very tired room that clearly hasn't seen a deep clean or maintenance in a long time.
The Room Condition
The level of neglect was honestly shocking.
• Walls & Carpets: The room is full of scuffs and what looks like possible blood splatter on the walls (see photos).
• Maintenance: Cracks in the plaster and chipped paint throughout made the space feel grimy rather than cozy.
Sleep Quality
If you’re looking for a restful night, look elsewhere.
• The Bed: I dealt with a lumpy, uncomfortable bed paired with thin, uncomfortable pillows that offered zero support.
• Noise: To make matters worse, my room backed onto the yard. There is a loud generator noise throughout the night that made it nearly impossible to sleep.
Bottom line: It's a shame because the exterior and grounds are lovely, but the interiors are in desperate need of an overhaul. I wouldn't recommend staying here until they address the hygiene and noise issues.

Amazing grounds and facilities, the spa is lovely, great thermal suite. Lovely room but small for a superior room, I feel a standard room would have been just the same or maybe bigger, not worth upgrading to a superior for complimentary water, which was a 330ml carton between 2. Some Maintainance issues need attention like broken tiles in the spa showers. The staff in the spa and reception were attentive, friendly and helpful. The breakfast and bar team lacked attention to detail and warmth, for example we entered the breakfast room and were just shown to a table, not asked if we had stayed before…we hadnt! We found our own way round, we weren’t asked if we would like any of the breakfast upgrade items that we read about on the table. The same team were on in the bar when we went for coffee not helpful when we asked about the rewards etc that we had.

Generally old, worn out furniture, bathrooms … everything needs to be refreshed and updated.
Keep the character about the building but it really needs a fresh look overall. The wing stable room that we stayed in for 1 night was cold but after telling the receptionist, she gave us a better room upstairs in the main building.
The cleanliness the bathrooms leaves you with a disgusting feeling - we found the toilet seat really dirty!
Overall, a nice stay, quiet & beautiful location and a lovely breakfast.

Warm welcome and my boys really loved the drinks and chocolate left for them in our room. Great having access to the pool/spa, lovely grounds and good food in the bar. Breakfast was also good, although the kitchen were stretched trying to keep pace with demand for hot breakfast items from guests at the previous day's wedding!
We'll be staying there again!

When you arrive at the hotel car park the outside looks lovely and is a real sun trap for outdoor drinks.
It’s a bit tricky finding reception from the car park so better signage would be helpful.
Some areas of the hotel feel a little worn like the red carpet on the reception stairs entrance and the bathroom area of the room I stayed in, and the jacuzzi was out of order on my stay too which was a little disappointing.
Most of the staff were really friendly and helpful (bar staff, cleaners and spa in particular) but there were a couple of occasions when I wasn’t acknowledged by small groups of staff.
The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable.
The bar area had a good atmosphere and the food was really tasty! Thai red curry special was a highlight of my stay. Breakfast was also really good with plenty of options.
The gym is really well equipped and wasn’t too busy.
Overall it’s a good hotel but needs a bit of tidying up.

The only problem was with the swimming pool and spa area . The pool was very dirty and the jacuzzi was broken apparently broken for a while .

This said it is still exceptionally good value and the first time of a few visits that the pool has been below standards.

This is something the hotel has introduced presumably because the gym has all new kit a short time ago. Be aware as this is something I refused to pay and was eventually waived. The good bits - the hotel grounds are lovely, the room was clean and well proportioned and the breakfast was good. It would be pleasant if some benches could be put in front of the hotel to allow guest to sit and look at the grounds.
The not so good bits - 1)There are lots of stairs 2) The only way to our room in the hotel was through a conference room. If this was occupied, we had to walk outside in the open. 3) The lift to our floor was out of order and had been for about 3 weeks - appalling for guests and staff. 4) the evening meal was poor - the burgers were burnt - we should have complained about this but we were too tired and hungry to wait for a replacement.
In summary, this was not a 4* experience.

Arriving in time for a bar meal we didn’t check the room until we retired and as it was quite late we didn’t complain. Informed reception in the morning but the receptionist was not apologetic but asked why we hadn’t brought it up the night before.

Room was fine and got an upgrade as have a dog. Booked for the spa but when I arrived at 6:40 they said it was closed the the jacuzzi broken. Could access the following day however....I was leaving early doors so wouldn't be able to sadly. Thought I'd make up for it with a hot toddy sadly no one really knew how to make one so got a warm whisky with a slice of lemon and a glass rim of cinnamon as garnish. So erm not quite a hot toddy. Look it was a lovely place with nice grounds and the staff were all pleasant and it was the end of the holiday season so likely completely over it which I understand. Too much information I am sure. Overall was clean and that's what I needed.

Stayed a couple of nights due to its convenient location. Great to have a leisure club attached. The staff were all great, the food and bar service was good. Breakfast was nice too.
My wife and I did find the bed a little uncomfortable due to it being 2 single mattresses joined together so it had a ridge down the middle. If you want to use the Spa then book early. Friday evening had an amazing keyboard player entertaining in the bar providing background music which was a nice touch.

Hotel is definitely not 4 star and neither is the service. I’d give it 2 at a push. We really found the whole experience below standard. Personally I’d avoid staying there. Rooms are tired and dirty. Our “Premium “ family room was missing a wardrobe door. Had dirty marks all over the walls and the bathroom was dirty when we arrived. With a baby and a young child was not ideal. The greeting at reception was transactional at best and they neglected to mention the restaurant was about to be fully booked up. As such we could only us the bar and were told we had to chance a table as it was busy (great service with two hungry young children). As for the spa! Was dirty in the changing rooms and needed a good clean. No padlocks for hotel guests so don’t take valuables! No shower gel or shampoo in all the ladies or men’s showers for three days!! We told spar receptionist three days in a row and were told “waiting for the delivery “. I mean really… how you run a pool and spa without stock of basic things like this will never know. Basic hygiene missing I think!
All in all not the four star hotel break we were expecting so I’d personally steer clear.

The only issue we have is the manner that the head or I presume the head of service in the breakfast restaurant spoke to her staff . She in our view needs to put on a course for man management. I have to say if we had been spoken too the way she addressed her staff we would have walked out . She was the only let down in the whole of the hotel .

Nice room, quiet and very comfortable room overlooking the car park.
Oak Room was very good for supper - staff helpful and excellent food.
Gym refurbished - all black and brooding. The only improvement staff wise is the spa staff should be more visible on arrival and not on the iPhone in the back room.

The room felt neglected, water was not particularly hot, shower gel ran out as it hadn’t been topped up.

The restaurant brought my lasagne out ahead of the starter and it was clear they’d just kept my main warm.

We had a lovely stay. It’s a beautiful hotel and when we stayed in late November it was beautifully decorated for Christmas. All the staff we spoke with during our stay were friendly and really helpful accommodating our needs with our baby. The breakfast was very nice and reasonably priced at £12.50 when paid for the night before. Parking was easy and free I’d definitely come back here.
