We stayed about a week. The staff and its cleanness are what gave the Property a leading edge. Sofia makes excellent Cappuccinos and Americano Coffees which made me totally addicted to.
Natalia is an incredibly friendly and professional. She was very helpful. I would recommend the place to everyone and would go back next time I am in Como.

The hotel is not in a nice area, but it’s good enough if you don’t mind walking into the old town. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great coffee and breakfast. Rooms are very clean. Only downside is that the pillows are too hard for us.

Lovely hotel

A lovely little hotel close to the old town. Useful parking for €10, but you must book in advance. Great, large rooms in excellent condition and a large choice of continental breakfast options: breakfast was free. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Our stay at the Lizard Hotel was really good. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is in the old part of Como in a quiet street which overlooked the hills of Como. Our room on the top floor was spacious with a nice balcony where we could sit and relax. The hotel Wi-Fi was very good and always available. The restaurant was excellent providing a free breakfast and a 3 course evening meal for 15 Euros. All in all a very good hotel at a good price, would not hesitate to stay there again.

Good value for the money

The hotel is conveniently located and has good service. My room on the third floor was a basic double--nothing special other than good wi-fi and a small fridge/minibar. Small but fine for my purposes, with a view of the mountains. The third floor is nice because there is a common sitting area lit by a skylight. Easy parking in the hotel lot.

Quiet friendly location

We were pleased to be welcomed by very friendly staff in this quiet location in Lake Como. The room was simple but clean. The restaurant offers a 3 course dinner for 15 euros which was delicious and beautifully plated. Breakfast offered lots of choice in baked goods as well as cereals, meats and cheeses. As well as very good regular coffee, they offered to make espressos and cappuccinos. It is about a 15 minute walk to the centre of town but worth the trade-off for a quiet and very reasonably-priced welcoming hotel.

Satisfactory experience with a reptilian twist

Hotel Lizard is a bit far from the train station. The room setup was the best we encountered, although the hide-a-bed mattress was not the best. Excellent and affordable meals are available onsite. Would stay there again.

A lovely hotel with very helpful & friendly staff

Our room was a good size and kept very clean by the chambermaids.

We ate in the restaurant every day. Breakfast was a feast: everything you could imagine (even chocolate cake!). Our breakfast set us up for a hard day of sightseeing! We ate our evening meal at the hotel almost every night, mainly because they produced a very interesting, tasty and varied menu every day.

The staff were always on hand to answer our questions, suggest interesting places to visit and generally make our stay a very happy time.

Ok for a night

We were on our way to Switzerland and found this place close to the train station and booked it. It is a bit difficult to find the place (esp the reception) in the night but shouldnt be an issue in the morning. Room was OK. Since we were there for just one night, no big complaints. Served the purpose I guess. Neighborhood is good and location is good. Room had nice views. Breakfast wasnt great but you may grab something to eat to keep you until lunch. Place is close to the bus stop - bus 8 (faster) and bus 1 takes you to the Como S Giovanni station.

Good for the price

we booked this last minute. It is conveniently located and has parking on the premises (at an additional cost EUR12/night). The rooms were clean but very basic. It worked well for us for one night stop over in Como - when we arrived late and left after breakfast. Staff allowed us to leave our car in the parking for the morning whilst we explored Como with what little time we had. Internet worked and it was about 5 mins walk to the outskirts of the old city. A really nice hotel

It was a great one. Really pretty hotel, architecturally, and great service-wise. Great people at reception, really nice owner, delicious breakfasts. Good location.

Hard to find for foreigners who don't speak Italian (embarrassed to say)...though not sure what could be done to make it easier. It's on what is almost like an alley and pretty dark.

Nice, clean hotel

We stayed overnight at the Hotel Larius. The staff is very nice and the hotel was clean and well kept. The surrounding neighborhood is a little run down and was the only drawback, but the hotel grounds themselves were secure and they had a nice car park. It was about a 15 minute walk to the waterfront. We would be willing to stay there again.

If youre anticipating a basic hotel then the Larius is a good value. The staff was friendly and helpful and the building did have its charm. its about a 15 min walk straight to the waterfront. We were there only one night and were pleased with our time there.

new hotel?

the hotel was sort of weird looking, very modern, ugly furniture, which detracted from the beautiful area around it. the staff were fairly helpful. the website had no information on how to actually get to the hotel, so we wandered around a bit and had to ask around to find it. hotel como might be easier than this one. the one thing we really loved was the free wifi and the restaurant underneath the hotel. it's about a 15-20 minute walk to the main shops/waterfront, which i highly recommend hanging out around. overall, i would not highly recommend the hotel, maybe try hotel como, but it was still a decent stay.

This hotel is a great base for visiting Como, granted you dont wake up to a view of the lake, but the 20 min walk into town is well worth it. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was cleaned well each day and hotel was airy and clean. The only disappointment is the breakfast . . if you like cheese and ham everyday you will be ok, but if not you will have a bit of problem. Would return to this hotel definetely.

The hotel was ok, nothing special. Eating the same things for breakfast every morning was a bit bland. The hotel at night is very noisy due to the tiled floors and wooden chairs with no rubber ends on the legs. You can hear every movement. The iron spiral stair case going right up through the hotel echos immensely and sleep was disturbed on more than one night. im sure for the price we paid there are better hotels out there. just to put this in perspective im not one to complain ever and let allot of things go in everyday life, but effecting sleep on a holiday... tut tut.

Hôtel situé dans un cartier populaire à 20 minutes du port de Como. Chambre correcte sauf pour quelques détails négligés niveau ménage de la salle de bain (avec un bidè qui fuit aussi). L’accueil à l’arrive étais froide et n’a pas changé pendant le séjour. S’abstenir si vous avez le sommeil léger car on entend les claquements de la porte d’entrée de l’hotel qui résonnent dans la cage des escaliers et les pas des clients sur les marches des escaliers qui sont faites complètement en métal. Petit déjeuner correct. Le parking nous a étais offert. Parfait pour des séjours de travail sans dépasser les deux nuit..

Otroligt dumt byggd toalett som du är tvungen att sitta på tvären på, sen fungerade inte ac:n utan sprutade konstant ut 25 graders värme. Detta gällde rum nr 6. Hovmäsraren/kocken var väldigt trevlig likaså receptionspersonalen.

J'ai trouvé le LIZARD hotel par pur hasard pour ma lune de miel. c'était parfait! La chambre 22 était spacieuse avec un mini balcon même si on pas pu en profiter à cause de la pluie. Excellent petit déjeuner . Chambre spacieuse . Nous y retournerons si nous revenons à Côme. Seuls reproches la langue française n'est pas toujours comprise. Le restaurant ne propose ni menu ni carte . La situation est bonne au vu de la proximité de la ville ancienne mais le quartier est moyen.Personnels extrêmement sympathique et toujours à notre écoute malgré la barrière de la langue.

Leuk hotel voor een nachtje over, prettig verblijf gehad. Kamers zijn simpel maar doeltreffend en goed schoon. In 10 minuten lopen sta je bij de stadspoort, het begin van het centrum, nog 10 minuten lopen en je staat bij het meer. Ontbijt is niet echt uitgebreid maar genoeg voor een goed begin van de dag. Ook broodjes met kaas en worst en een eitje bij het ontbijt dus niet alleen zoet.

Trés satisfait de l'hotel et surtout de l'accueil.
Petit bémol difficile d'accés mal indiqué à l'entrée de Côme mais la receptionniste m'a gentillement guidé au téléphone.
Nous avons été surclassé , chambre sous les toit trés spacieuse avec petit balcon, trés bien.
Parking sur place ou nous avons pu laisser la voiture toute la journée de notre départ .
Parfait petit déjeuner avec du choix et un vrai jus d'orange .Excellent accueil.

Es un hotel muy agradable, a unos 1km de la estación St. Giovanni y a 10 mins caminando de la puerta de Como (del centro de la ciudad) El personal muy servicial, Natalia en recepción fue extraordinaria!! Donis atentísimo también. Te ayudan y dan consejos y sugerencias. Limpieza impecable, es acogedor. Desayuno completo con huevo duro, carnes frías, quesos y yogurt, frutas.

Un hotel bonito y barato para alojarse en Como

Hotel que ya acusa el paso de los años pero limpio y a tiro de piedra del centro de Como. El personal muy amable, hablaban perfectamente en español y con opción de parking dentro del propio hotel. Cenamos en el restaurante del hotel y también fenomenal. La parte negativa es que se le ve que tiene cierta tralla el hotel y en nuestra habitación el baño olía raro... No era mal olor pero no era un olor agradable.

A five days stay at Hotel Lizard

This relatively small hotel is worth visiting. It has a quite private atmosphere, it is clean and the hotel staff appeared to be very friendly and informative, which we appreciated. The breakfast is as a matter of fact even better than on bigger, famous hotels in Italy. In other words, more relevant food for us who like athletic behaviour and less of those superfluous sweets and other needless stuff that don´t belong to a real breakfast. The location is only about a ten minute walk to the lake and you´ll reach the definite centre of the town in about five minutes. I am not sure if this was a coincidence during your stay, but there seems to be some junkies and other suspicious entities close to the hotel address (it was obvious that none of them had Italian origin). But as a whole, this hotel can be recommended and this definitely goes for Como and its surroundings as well.

Familiedrevet mindre hotel med en helt særlig afmosfære. Gåafstand til Como søen og Como Old town og byens seværdigheder. Rigtig gode parkeringsmuligheder der er sjældne i Como Centrum.

El hotel esta super bien, la habitación esta con todo lo que uno necesita y es muy bonita, la decoración de las zonas comunes es hermosa, todo super limpio y de buen gusto. El personal Excelente!! Staff is gentle and helpfull. Location is good: not far away fron the city center.
Breakfast is perfect.
Rooms are clean.
Only one negative and important thing is that in the room you can hear all: your neighbours talks and cleaning service. Too noisy (if you don't plan to wake up at 6 o'clock in the morning).

Hotel sin pretensiones, pero perfecto para lo que buscábamos: cómodo, limpio y muy acogedor.
El ambiente es familiar y el personal encantador. Fueron muy amables y hasta nos ayudaron a gestionar el alquiler del coche.
Lo mejor, junto con el personal, fue sin duda el desayuno. En un saloncito precioso y... ¿qué decir de los croissants? Una auténtice delicia.

Gutes Stadthotel

Es ist sehr nahe zum Stadtzentrum gelegen, hat einen Parkplatz vor dem Haus und kann leicht zu Fuß in die Altstadt gehen . (Ca. 15 Min) Sehr ideal. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit, die Zimmer sind sauber und ordentlich, ein ordentliches Frühstück. Für eine Städtereise kann man das Hotel gut empfehlen, wenn man keinen Pool braucht oder den Tag im Hotel verbringen möchte.

Lindo lugar, còmodo, las personas que nos atendieron, excelentes, nos hablaban en español, fueron muy agradables con el niño y el lugar tenía una ubicación cercana a la città, por lo cual estabamos cerca de todo.

Meget bra hotell med strålende service. Ikke midt i sentrum, men kort vei til gamlebyen. Nære til butikker og restauranter.

Im Grossen und Ganzen angenehmer Aufenthalt, sauberes Zimmer, sehr nettes Personal. Enges Badezimmer! Sitzt man auf dem WC, muss die Duschtüre geöffnet sein! Darum bestimmt keine Badezimmerbilder?! Steckdosensuche nicht einfach!

Totally Okay Hotel. Reasonable price level. Rooms and beds are good. Little bad/none Wi-Fi connection in the rooms but OK in the hallway. Parking just outside.
