Unfortunately the wi-fi did not work on the 5th floor where we had the room. Anita and Fatou at the desk were very kind and offered to move to another room with possible better reception, but since we were there only 2 nights and were busy during the day we could not try service in another room.

Overlooking a piazza, we had several options and the lake was less than 5 minutes away. There's parking nearby but I recommend walking a little further and your ticket will cost half. Lovely staff.

A very good small hotel in a fantastic location in Como. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Plenty dining/drinking options round about and the hotel is 5 mins from the lake ticket office, bus station and a 10/15 min walk from Como S. Giovanni train station.

its location is great, inside walls/flooring are beautiful. outside dining area very nice.
What we did not like of the property are room specific mostly and include: the knob on the shower are very hard to use - difficult to turn, cannot grip them to apply force. (this one item will prevent us from returning or recommending) Our shower drain was plugged - was fixed the 2nd day. no mini-frig so can't cool liquids or save food. no chair to sit. only one suitcase stand. No included breakfast a big negative, and the separate restaurant was very expensive compared to other hotel's food options.

First of all, the young “keeper of the front desk” was beyond fantastic. She really wanted me to have a great experience not only at the hotel but in Como. And, I left an item behind and they rallied around making sure I got it at my next stop. The location could not have been better. There was even live music out in the plaza at night. I’ll be back!

Would have been good to know it’s a 3-stat property with no checkin after 9PM.

Last thing we were in the mood for after transport delays that caused late arrival was half mile track to sister hotel to check in. Half mile round trip might not seem like a lot but at 10:30 PM with no cell charge for direction it took over an hour.

This is a great property right in the heart of Como. You can walk everywhere! Several restaurants, including the hotels own! It’s less than a 10-minute walk to the lake and marina! The room was nice and spacious! Comfy bed and great shower! The A/C worked perfectly, keeping us cool!! We would stay here again!

Lovely experience, beautiful hotel and great location. The front desk staff was absolutely fantastic! Great housekeeping. The only negative was that several (not all) of the bar servers were super rude, or just snooty and unfriendly. It’s a real shame because the other staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

The property is very good. The lady at reception was exceptional. She helped us with guidance of the city that without, everything would have been more difficult. Beds and all within the room is great. Recommendations would be a larger size TV and more alternative channels for tourist (English language and Spanish.
WiFi great!

Also you should be allowed to sign tickets at the bar restaurant to the room.

We had a room in the last (5th) floor but there was an elevator only to the 4th floor. There was a strange small in the room.. not sure what it was. Small TV [I know why would anyone come to Como to watch TV.. but TV sets are very inexpensive these days and the hotel could afford to get a nicer one!] . The service at the restaurant was rather slow. Apart from these small issues the location is great.

The hotel ended up being overbooked since we booked at the last minute. The hostess was very helpful and had already reserved us an upgraded room at a different hotel owned by the same company.

Although we didn’t stay at this specific location, we had a very good experience and the other hotel was charming and comfortable. I imagine since they are owned by the same company this would be the same. They certainly went above and beyond on customer service for us!

The location is excellent . Close by all attractions. The staffs are very friendly and helpful even though they are not 24 hours . The view of my room is fabulous. Face to the square. They are upgraded it due to my very very late check in. Kind of compensation that not caused by the hotel. Nice people!

Great hotel & location whilst visiting the Proposte fair in cernobio. Now my 5th year in a row staying at Design Posta and always made to feel welcome.
Great coffee and cake selection for Breakfast and afternoon snacks, in a perfect location for the boats around the lake and close to fantastic restaurants.

Super hotel in good central location. We were very fortunate to have a room with a small balcony that looked over the square alongside (I think there is only one room that offers this so we were particularly fortunate). The chic cafe/bar within the hotel is great for an aperitif but has a very limited menu for breakfast. It also attracts stylish local people so an enjoyable place to linger. Quality of the bedroom was excellent, super comfy bed, modern well designed furniture and fabulous shower room.

Prime location in Como at a friendly hotel

This hotel was a pleasant surprise! Frederica gave us a fabulous room on the 4th floor with a view out 3 windows. The hotel is on Piazza Alessandro Volta which has a great amount of activity and is perfectly situated within short walks anywhere in this lovely city.

In the heart of town, with a brand new renovation the rooms aren’t huge but I wouldn’t call them pokey either. The bathrooms are a good size. Really comfy bed. No 24 hour reception but the cafe staff are willing to address any need. Really friendly, why wouldn’t they be it’s a cute town.

the room I checked in (standard) was not the level of the room I booked (superior). But they did not want to accept the fact and I paid the price of a superior.
The standard is fine but I should have paid standard rate.

They offered me a Suite if I was to pay the price of a suite. They apparently do not understand well English or Service or both

It's not what it seems

It is not a hotel nor does it have hotel service. It is more of an airb&b. It is 14 apartments with no on handservice. They clean only in the morning. There is no hotel staff or bellboy service.
There is a small desk with a receptionist which arrives at 2 o'clock and leaves before 8 o'clock. So if you need anything or something goes wrong in your room nobody can help you till the next day at 2 o'clock.
My room had no wall windows it had a rooftop window so I filled I was locked in a box.
I was on the fifth floor and the elevator only when up to the 4th floor. I had to carry my suitcase up and down which weighed 50 pounds. I had a hard time, Not nice!

Lovely modern style hotel in centre of Como. Didnt include breakfast but was available in the Cafe bar on ground floor but it was expensive. Found cheaper and better range of breakfasts in other cafes in Como. Very friendly and helpful staff with good English. Room was nice but not enough for any comfortable chairs for relaxation.

Posta Design Hotel - a mix of good and bad

The Posta Hotel was originally designed by rationalist architect Giuseppe Terragni in 1930 but his modernist plans were rejected and the commission was only agreed once he proposed to build something in a more traditional, neoclassical style. It was renovated under the ownership of the Lariohotels Group in 2013 and though the idea of keeping clean lines fits the rationalist principles, little of Terragni's interior remains intact; columns in the stairwell and some of the stair railings.
It's perfectly situated close to the cathedral and the waterfront and easily accessible from the railway station by foot. My wife and I were given an upgrade to a mini suite on the 5th floor, complete with table and chairs on a balcony overlooking the lake. This was really appreciated as the room was very spacious and clean and fitted out with some beautiful, modern furnishing and fixtures. The wifi was fast and reliable.
We experienced two problems: On our arrival at 10 am, 4 hours before check-in, after we'd travelled by sleeper to Milan and taken the first train out to Como. As a boutique hotel, there's no full reception facility but a member of staff from behind the bar simply barked at us \"check-in is at 2\". We waited for some further assistance but were given the same, brusque, information before a more junior member of staff was rudely instructed to take our bags; the breakfast menu didn't reflect what appeared to be available so we had coffee and croissants at Panino Buono close by

This place was perfect for us! The location is close enough to the various boat docks to facilitate all our adventures. The one potential negative is due to its great location. There's a lot of evening action on the square where the hotel is located. I wore earplugs at night. My husband didn't need them. But I'd take some along just in case.

Really like this hotel in Como. In a quiet location without traffic in the center of town. Short walk to lake and ferry. Beautiful rooms. Just what I was looking for. Its tricky to find parking but finally figured it out. I parked on a quiet street half mile away and you buy a ticket at a machine for about 10 euro a day. If you drive here it's nuts. Easier to come by train. 5* from me for this hotel. Perfect location.

A perfect place to stay in Como

Great location, in the very city center. A large public parking is at 5 mins on foot (20 euros / day). Plenty of nice restaurants, shops, and tourist attractions at walking distance. The room was spacious, comfortable, and stylish. The bar of the hotel makes excellent pastries and salads. Wifi was good enough. Overall, a great choice for a very good price for Como.

The location of this recently renovated hotel is excellent! It is right on the central square of the old town of Como and near to everything. The soundproofing of the hotel is excellent such that you are right on top of the square, with action til late hours but you do not hear anything with windows closed. Como is a beautiful town we have visited many times but never tire of. The hotel is very short walking to all of the shopping and restaurants in the town and is also very close to the lakefront.

We really enjoyed the Posta Design Hotel.

It is perfectly located within a 150 meters of the Lake Como foreshore and on Piazza Volta. There are many choices of places to drink and eat in the piazza and nearby. It is also a simple walk from both rail stations, even with luggage.

The modern design of the hotel, in an interesting older building, is pleasant. The hotel and room were in excellent condition.

The relationship between the bar and hotel is a bit hard to fathom, but it works very well, with the bar providing limited but inexpensive fare for breakfast and lunch and its a great place to sit outside and watch the goings on in the piazza. The staff in the bar were great, friendly and helpful. The front desk is only staffed from mid-afternoon, but the system worked with the bar staff helping out.

Our room was not large, but it wasn't \"European tiny\" either. The lack of a desk was a problem solved by heading down to the bar. If one has lots of big luggage, the room might be too small. For us it was great, and the view from the small balcony was pleasant.

The room and bathroom were clean and well supplied with towels, pillows, soap and the like.

We loved it.

Centrally located hotel

The Posta Design hotel is perfectly located if you plan to arrive in Como by train. The station is a quick 10min walk away whilst also being in the centre of town and very close to beautiful lake Como.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, especially the beds. We did however have trouble with the shower as water would not drain so you would find yourself showering in a big puddle after a couple of minutes. Luckily, it did not leak across the bathroom floor.

Staff were friendly but the front desk hours are very limited. Overall, the hotel was fine for our purposes.

The staff was great! We arrived after the reception was closed and the staff called to arrange our checkin. The bar staff helped direct us to less expensive parking and went out of their way to help us not get lost. There isn't parking at the hotel, but there is a lot for 20 euro three blocks away. We did have some difficulty checking out, as there was a language barrier with the day staff, our fault for not knowing Italian, but a great overall experience!

Nice boutique hotel on the piazza

This hotel was within walking distance from the Como train station. It was located on a piazza with access to several restaurants and shopping close by. We received a upgrade when we arrived and stayed in room 404. It was on the top floor and had nice views of the town. This was the only hotel I stayed at while in Europe that actually gave you a top sheet on the bed versus just a duvet cover!! It you are looking for a quiet place to stay this is not the place for you. The piazza is a busy area with restaurants and shops. There is a bar nearby where people are socializing until late in the evening and you can hear all the noise from the street.

I stayed in the suite which had a few peculiar features (eg unlock able toilet, ability to see into the shower at all times from the bed, no wardrobe) which detracted from the overall stay. Plus the hotel was noisy at night (we escaped it though being on the top floor, I imagine that lower down you could hear the noise). These niggles aside it was a very nice place and the staff were friendly.

We arrived before the check in time but and had to attend a wedding immediately. The staff graciously organised a place for us to to change and get ready and for our bags to be waiting for us in the (beautiful) room on our very late return. The room was amazing, we suspect we were upgraded. Absolutely reccomend this hotel.

What a gem of a find! This boutique hotel is the perfect walking distance from everything! 5 min from train station,5 minutes from Lago cruise,darling restaurants everywhere. Room was tasteful furnished,a modern look.we totally enjoyed staying here,clean and convenient.
