Good hotel, well located for reaching the main line train station and the ferry for Lake Como.

The room was modern, spacious and clean.

The only disappointment was that the safe in the room wasn’t working and was not repaired during our stay.

Lovely little boutique hotel on a side street. We were welcomed by guy on desk who gave us lots of information on Como and provided us with a map. The hotel was clean and the room was modern with a large bathroom and lovely large shower. Breakfast was continental style and was very nice and it was very relaxed atmosphere. It was approximately 15 minutes walk to the lakeside, this was a flat easy walk. There were some restaurants in the street but again approximately 15 minutes to main square with lots of restaurants, bars and shops. I would recommend this hotel.

Lovely small hotel in good location.

A good location, in a quiet location and close to the railway station but only about 10 min walk to the old town and the lake. The hotel was good overall, very clean and comfortable bed. Th staff were lovely and always available. The only issue was the shower tray which did not prevent water from flowing onto the floor of the bathroom which then did not drain away very well. A better shower tray would help prevent this.

The room is nice and is in a good location if you want the bottom of Lake Como or are watching Como football. The only problem we had with the room was the AC was not the best but the reception was very cool so it felt all the cool air was being used there!

We enjoyed this property very much. It was clean and very comfortable. The closeness to the train station was a really a plus for our connection to Lugano. The staff was very pleasant and willing to answer our questions and offer dining suggestions. They even provided a ride for us to the train station on checkout. Highly recommend. Thank you!

A wonderful and friendly staff who will greet and invite you to stay in a very clean and modernized room.

Breakfast was filling, satiafying, and convenient. The location was close enough to the life of the city you could walk everywhere but gave you enough distance from it all so it remained quiet and calm at night.

A grocery store, close by, open 24/7 is very convenient and affordable.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Overall the stay was good. We did feel uncomfortable at night, there was no option to put the air on because the temperature outside was not hot enough. We had the windows open and heard a lot of noise outside. You can only take one hot shower at a time also. Besides this the place was clean and close to the train station.

Definitely no lake views. Staff were unkind and quite frankly rude. Tried to charge us for 3 nights when we had amended to a two night stay more than three months prior. Had to argue our point when we clearly had written confirmation…which quite frankly, ruined my trip.

Shower was awful, water did not drain properly. So you had to use the hand shower and take 3min showers otherwise bathroom would flood. Told the staff about this on the first day and was promised something would be done, but no one even bothered to take a look. AC never worked properly. Stairs are dangerously steep and glass see through bottoms…not safe for children at all. This was meant to be a family room, but my husband ended up sleeping upstairs in the single bed and my son downstairs with me, as it was completely unsafe should he have needed to use the bathroom during the night.

Would never recommend this place nor ever choose to stay here again! The attitude from the staff was utterly disgusting and disrespectful!

I reserved this room, because it said they have AC. From the first day, I informed the staff there was no AC in my room. They offered to move me to another location, but it was a huge downgrade for what I paid for. The staff was super nice and the hotel was clean. Just no AC in the summer made our stay miserable. I suggest making sure they have their AC fixed before going. The rooms face the afternoon sun, so it gets very hot in the room.

A great little hotel in central Como. 5 minutes walk from the lake front, 5 minutes to the main steam station Como S.G. Wonderful friendly staff. The breakfast is great, no buffet right now but abundance’s of food brought to your table by the front desk. Definitely recommend this place as a base when exploring lake como.

This hotel is amazing for the price. Very clean and charming. Nice staff, decent breakfast. The location is convenient to the train station, Como San Giovanni, but is outside the beautiful old part of the city. Lake is a short walk away and there are several restaurants on the same block. There’s a bike shop close by with bargain rentals. We got 2 bikes for 3 days for 18€!

The check-in process seemed really slow, but the staff was very nice. The front door is always locked, so you have to be buzzed in at all times of the day. Not a big hassle, although sometimes the front desk would be unattended, so it would take a bit longer to answer the door.

Great location to walk into the city, secure hotel which meant people couldn’t just walk in off the street so felt safe. Room was clean and of a decent standard.
However we found location was good but the parking was not, no information that they had two parking spaces outside which you had to book ahead for, they do offer off site parking. The room was small and couldn’t store our clothes in the small wardrobe so needed to live out of our suitcase. No iron, tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms just made it a little annoying. Breakfast was not good, basic spread, plates left out and not cleared away from other guests for ages after they finished. My first morning I wasn’t even acknowledged by staff when I came in and did get offered a hot drink for breakfast pretty poor service I felt so didn’t bother with breakfast again.
Overall I would say it was a reasonable place to stay in an expensive city but due to a few things we encountered left us feeling disappointed with the hotel.

This is a bare bones boutique type hotel not too far from the center of Lake Como. There are restaurants within steps if you don't want to walk into town. There is no coffee or tea in the room. Breakfast is extra and there is no free parking.

The hotel is walking distance to Como S Giovianni Station (about 15mins) and to Como Lago (about 10mins). Staff is helpful and kind. The stay was comfortable and the tv provides english channel if you know to set the language. Is walking distance (about 10 - 15mins) to Lake Como for cruise, food and shopping.

Very helpful staff especially Mickey really friendly and helpful. One male staff member was quite rude when I asked if he could help arrange a taxi for me even though he did do this he was quite rude initially and said it wasn,t his job it was the anniversary of the passing of my mother and I thought he would of been more compassionate and not make me feel uncomfortable with asking for his help. Nice clean hotel lovely selection of buffet breakfast would highly recommend. Thank you to the male staff who stayed with me until my taxi arrived to take me back to the airport he never complained even though we had both got up one and half hours to early.

Perfect budget hotel...if you provide better TV!

A very nicely presented “boutique-feel” hotel.
A longer walk to the lakefront than I was expecting (I should have checked more closely) ...about 20 minutes...but moderate pricing allows for that. (Smart idea to “walk off” your enjoyable breakfast! Lovely, helpful young lady/receptionist who brought coffee.)
Beautifully presented /faultless Continental breakfast in a pleasant room... with excellent offerings; a great range of fresh fruits, yoghurts, boiled eggs, cheese, deli-meats...plus croissants,bread, rolls, jams, juices etc etc. A perfect Contental breakfast thought don’t think the juices were fresh squeezed (?) as advertised.
Beautifully renovated hotel with attention to detail though with a few flaws that just spoilt my stay.
Air-conditioning in my original room (I was moved to another room) was overly hot; stifling on my arrival/during night...with no fresh air due to location of this single room. Apparently it is not possible to drop the temperature in winter! It only heats...no cooling! ( ??? Odd?)
Also the TV has NO English speaking channels whatsoever, so that was a very big annoyance to me...especially as I was on this trip, alone.
Bathroom was excellent though original one had bad shower-head & globe missing/“out.” It also had nowhere to place wet pack bag/ bathroom items. A hook (or two) would have been great; a small item/issue but great help to guests!
The second room I was moved to, solved ventilation issues. However also no English TV channel! 😟

quiet hotel on a nice street

The hotel Borgovico is a nice hotel in Como, just a few minutes from the lake and about 10 minutes to the central plaza. The street has a few restaurants and bars but is pretty quiet at night. The room was good size with a king bed, closet, and chair; and the bathroom was roomy as well. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of choices and coffee made to order.

The staff was very friendly and provided several good restaurant tips.

I would reserve a parking space for 7 euros daily if you are going to be driving, the central parking garage about 10 minutes away is 15 euros a day and there is very limited parking in the area.

I would definitely recommend this hotel unless you feel the need to stay right in the middle of the tourist center

Typically Italian Hotel in a quiet part of Como

Lovely stay recently had at Hotel Borgovico. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable, always very clean and plenty of room for the two of us. We booked a Superior room which was at the back of the hotel so very quiet apart from the odd train rumbling through the station above. This didn't cause any problems though, it was all part of the holiday, The breakfast was continental only which suited us perfectly. Always a choice of fruit with delicious pastries every day. We stayed for 10 nights and it served our needs perfectly.

On the negative side:
I had one of the cheaper single rooms that did not have a proper window (basically to the hotel staircase).
I also struggled some to connect to the Internet on one point (it might have been due to the thunderstorm - I'm not sure).

On the positive side:
Overall the breakfast was nice (better than the average \"italian style\" breakfast).
The hotel was pretty, clean and felt fresh.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
For me the hotel was perfectly located close to the translation and downtown.

Quiet Location, Great Hotel

I would definitely recommend this hotel. It is within walking distance of the train station. It was a bit of a walk (maybe 10-20 minutes, depending on how fast you walk) to the town center where all of the shops and many restaurants are (and where the ferry is), but it was on a relatively quiet street and was a lovely place to stay. Our room was clean and a nice size, the staff were super friendly and helpful (and spoke English), and they had a nice continental breakfast that was included in the price. A bonus was that there is a fabulous restaurant two doors down that has the best pizza we had on our entire two week trip in Italy, plus a Spanish restaurant right across the street that is supposed to be very good. They also have free wi-fi.

Nice hotel convenient to historic center

The hotel is convenient to the train station and within easy walking distance to the center of town and the ferries for lake travel. We had a room in what I would call the rear annex which was through a courtyard from the main part of the hotel. We had a large room along with a unusually large bathroom atypical of many European hotels. Good breakfast (especially the cappuccino) served in a spacious lobby. Staff was helpful and friendly and language was no problem. This hotel and another on the same street are owned by the same people along with an Italian restaurant situated between them. Has a small bar in the lobby where you can get something to drink at any time. The lobby is staffed 24 hours.

Note; As you are walking down via Borgo Vico from the train station it is the second hotel. The first is Borgo Antico. Their restaurant is in between. All on the same side (West) of the street

All hotel staff were so helpful and friendly. They researched local bus routes for me online with times etc and told me all about the area and things to do. The room was spotlessly clean. There was plenty to choose at breakfast (continental style). The area was quiet and peaceful. I would definitely return here again.

The duplex quadruple room at the back of the courtyard was perfect for an overnight for our family of four (including two young children). It was nicely updated and very comfortable. The service was excellent; the receptionist went out of her way to make our stay pleasant. We enjoyed the breakfast too. Finding the parking garage was a bit confusing despite having directions, but on the whole I would definitely recommend the hotel.

Clean, extra quiet

Really thick, double panes windows at this hotel meant that even my street-facing room was extra quiet at night. Clean, comfy rooms and great bathrooms. Very fast wifi. Short walk to the central area, and very friendly front desk staff, esepcially in the AM. Breakfast was above the typical breads, and included cereals, yogurt, meats, and legit espresso.

Overall an awesome place to stay, especially considering how reasonable the rate was compared to other places in town.

Hotel Borgovico was excellent very comfortable room and breakfast was super. Hotel very near lake and centre of town and near one or two good restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Nice hotel close to the city center.

Close to city center and the funicular to the Citta Alta. Parking next door (reserve, well worth it). Good restaurants nearby.

first of all the staff is better than good,it seems that they can not help you enough-close to everything--two great resturants with in 20 meters-train station close(walkable)--this hotel is a vacationers dream come true
