The room was alright for just a 2 day stay , not the best condition, but manageable, the breakfast was a 4 out of 10 , better off going to the street and eating better food , front desk staff was great !!!!! Like it ok for a 2-3 day stay , wouldn’t stay here for longer then that only if I had to

Moldy toilets, beds too soft, pillow nearly non-existent. No phone to call the desk in the room. Breakfast area looks dirty, no aircon. Remote is spoilt. Walls cracking everywhere. No noise insulation. Near to mosque and u can hear the calls early till late at night.

The room was perfectly sized and well equipped. The same goes for the bathroom - large, with a perfectly sized shower stall. The rooftop bar - great place with a great view. Very helpful staff. Perfect location - between the old and new towns. On the downside, the windows in the room didn't open fully, and the breakfast was average. But I still want to go back.

The building really showcases old colonial architecture. Near to all the tourist walks. That is the only great thing about the hotel. I had staff request that I pay the tourist tax, even though it had been paid via booking website. The rooms in poor condition, with the bed mattress springs popping when moving around while sleeping. The air con extremely loud. The bathroom good size and its the only positive about the rooms. Strained towels. Breakfast would have to be the worst I've had from years travelled. I ended up leaving 2 nights early shifting to another hotel, Citidines. I would say that the hotel is poorly run. The last thing you should be worried about is your accommodation.

Hotel was nice but I woke up at 1:30am with a man standing in my room. Apparently the staff had given him the wrong room key and he walked right in while I was sleeping. Then it happened again before I left. Twice in 10 days is pretty lame. Don’t forget to latch the second lock.

Firstly I will start with a positive. Great location! Upon check in, the staff member could not find my booking and said the hotel doesn’t do bookings with hotels / Expedia. The staff member showed no reassurance to myself with the process and eventually said they’ll try contact the company. Eventually another staff member called out to me and gave me my room keys… no apology or any word as to why this happened? I queried and the only response I had was a technical glitch??? I went to the room and couldn’t get in… so I had to go back down to the lobby for help… a staff member accompanied me back and managed to open the door. (Need to pull the handle down further and with some strength… as they mentioned it’s an old hotel. No problem, but possibly mention this before customers head up there as I couldn’t be the only one. Room was relatively nice but there is no safe in the room to store items safely. I was told to check out the rooftop bar on level 7 for happy hour… I went up there and it was a group gathering with one leader and no other customers… I asked about the happy hour and the bartender looked confused and called the reception…
The big turn off was the daily 5am wake up from the nearby Mosque call the preyer… I should have done better research about this.

Hotel room had a very bad smell that we could not handle. Toilet was not working when we checked in. It took the staff 2 attempts and over an hour to fix the toilet. Lots of stains on the furniture and bed sheets and we felt it was just not up to the standards it should have been. The noises of other guests taking a shower or using the toilets could be heard through the walls right beside the bed. We had to leave this hotel and book elsewhere

The hotel was great, the only issue we had was with the air condioning unit. It was very noisy and on full blast all of the time. We tried just turning it off but the room quickly became very hot. We did ask to be shown how to turn it down, but the member of staff said that it was not possible. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and comfortable.

Its an old heritage building - found and removed a spider and a cockroach upon entry. No further unwelcomed guest throughout the stay.
Spacious room and washroom. Friendly staff. Close to the old town.

Central location, helpful staff and comfortable beds with fresh white linen. The decor was a bit shabby with unfinished paintwork on the walls and paint on the curtain. There was also no shower door.

Right besides the heritage George Town area, this property is conveniently positioned for the art lovers (with old world charm & art murals in the walking distance), as well as food lovers (with Kimberley street just at a walking distance). This is a value for money 3 star property, nice & co-operative staff & a good & tasty traditional breakfast. I loved the ambience & the hospitality.

Location is excellent and walkable to visit the historic Penang district and food. Room and shower are roomy but carpet did not look like very clean. The price in the location was very good; it would be much better if the lobby downstair AC was turned on early so that the air was feeling fresh when we came down at 8am; there are also no AC in the upstairs hallways.

Le personnel est vraiment gentil et à l'écoute. J'ai demandé à changer de chambre pour avoir une clim plus froide et je l'ai eu tout de suite. La chambre 609 est grande avec une salle de bain rafraîchie. La chambre en aurait besoin un peu aussi. L'hôtel est tres bien situé. Tout le coin de Georgetown se fait à pieds. Le seul gros point négatif est qu'on entend tout. La configuration de l'hôtel fait en sorte que c'est très écho. Les murs sont en \"papier\".

The room wasnot in good condition, the walls are painted wuth different colours, the bathroom condition - MUST TO touch up. Even if you switch on air con, there is the smell of dampness, i washed some clothes and it never dried. The staff at the reception is helpful, i asked for umbrella and they helped, i asked to print some pages, they helped. The safety box in the room was closed upon arrival and i cannot use it. The breakfast restaurant is nice, on the roof top. The breakfast itself, can find the food for your choice, in general okay. The location is perfect, 10 kinutes to Komtar, few minutes to Penang street art. Few restaurants around, less small shops around, 7.11 around 10 minutes walk
The only thing that they need to work on is room condition.

Hotel is in a great location, nearby plenty of restaurants and artisan cafes, walking distance to many tourist spots. Safe area to go around at night. Has a nice playground/ park just across the street. Hotel looked good from the outside, but inside it's old. Had issues with the door lock - making an alarm bec it won't close properly. Walls are thin, expect to hear your neighbors talking. Water heater and pressure was great. Bidet did not work (no water flowing). Staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall, hotel is still great value for money! I recommend this hotel if you're not too particular of these cons mentioned.

When I first checked in, another guest managed to open the door to my room. Upon my complaint, the counter staff gave me another room. I then realized that I could even use the new room key to open the door to my old room! Good thing was that with the new room, only the designated card was able to open its door.

The hotel is very tired but considering the price it is good value for money. We arrived early and they managed to get a room cleaned up and let us check in early which was very helpful. The only complaint is our tea cups in the room were never cleaned in the 5 days we stayed there. there was a dirty tea cup when we went into our room and I washed it thinking it was an oversight. The hotel is in a great position within walking distance to restaurants, food courts, shops, shopping centres and bus terminal and ferry terminal to Butterworth. The hotel is in an excellant location to everything.

We spent three nights in the superior double room during early August 2023. The room was generously sized, although it had a slightly musty scent upon arrival. The furniture appeared aged, and there were noticeable cracks in the floor skirting throughout the room. Fortunately, the window provided a pleasant city view. The hotel's standout feature was its exceptional location, allowing easy exploration of Georgetown with its proximity to various attractions- a great choice if you enjoy discovering places on foot. Additionally, the check-in staff was accommodating and friendly. Despite us arriving well before the official check-in hours, the staff managed to provide our room by efficiently rearranging those who had checked out early.

Transport early in the morning to the airport was difficult to get. The hotel restaurant has been leased and there is no room service. TV stations were very limited. Cleanliness and condition of the room has improved greatly. Staff is very helpful and courteous. I will stay there again..

Only let down last min after the check-out: asked the front desk (Indian female in this particular case) for assistance with Grab a car to the bus terminal which was 5 mins walking distance away, she called someone then told me just wait outside but could not provide the car rego; a taxi came and mins later, again the Indian driver in this scenario charged me more than 3 times what a Grab service would ever ask. So lessons people: always use Grab when you can and don't let any hotel receptionist and her mate take advantage of you!

Stayed in this hotel for two nights while in Penang. The location is great with a lot of the street art attractions scattered in walking distance to the hotel. The hotel room was rather basic, but was overall relatively clean. Noise from surrounding rooms was loud through the walls. Our TV did not work but this did not impact us much during the short stay. Breakfast was included in our stay, this was on the rooftop and was nice but simple. Bottled water was provided daily, but fresh towels were not provided. Staff were friendly and helpful, and provided luggage storage.

Clean and comfy hotel with good location.

Location was good, walking distance to Prangin Mall. Hotel is quite well kept and rooms are clean. It is near food stalls opened at night. Staff are very accommodating, allowed us to change the room when it was reported that one of the lights and kettle were not working. The rooftop terrace is a nice place to chill and enjoy the sunset.

When I arrived, there’s no porter bring my heavy luggages from outside to the lobby. I can’t use the kettle because no socket or plug not working, I gave feedback so many times until the 3 days than I can used it. Aircon leaking.
