The water pump broke down on our second night. Wife was caught in the shower with soap and there waa no water for about 1.5 hours, even after saying that the pump was restarted and water would be up in 30 mins. The only thing that marred a perfect stay.

Fast and friendly check-in set the tone right away. Within minutes we were upstairs in a tidy, modern room that felt well maintained and thoughtfully laid out.

The lobby is nicely decorated with a distressed mid-century feel. Think aviation metal and worn leather, the sort of aesthetic that makes you half expect a Pan Am pilot from the 1960s to wander through looking for a drink.

The room itself is comfortable and practical. The bed is on the firm side but paired with very soft pillows, which makes for a surprisingly good night’s sleep. The bathroom is modern and beautifully tiled with excellent hot water temperature, always a welcome luxury after wandering around humid Penang.

Small touches help. The coffee bar includes a fridge and two complimentary bottles of water each day, something you’ll appreciate after exploring the streets of George Town.

Location is another big win. The hotel sits within easy walking distance of several food markets, a mall, and plenty of local points of interest, making it a convenient base for eating and exploring your way around the city.

Le Dream Boutique Hotel is located close to a street food market (make a right turn, walk a few metres, and then make a left turn and you are right there). There is a well-regarded restaurant on the ground floor, but plenty of other local eateries are nearby, too.

The room has lots of space, the bathroom is spacious.

The staff were amazing and helpful! They provided instructions to the mall, and even a walk-in clinic when I needed to get checked out for a minor illness. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy.

The price we paid for the room was fair, and the Grab (e-hail rideshare) to Penang Airport ranged from $25 Ringgit to $40 Ringgit, depending on demand.

We will definitely return to Le Dream Boutique Hotel in the future.

Very well located and a food base tlfrom which to explore Georgetown, lots of places can be reached within a short walk. This is a city break btw. Didnt see any beach or pool duting our stay.

Room was decent, clean and pretty quiet even when facing road.

Lady on reception was nice and helpful.

Jacuzzis on roof top were not in operation and didnt look like they had been for many years.

A mitchelin star restaurant on ground level but didnt try it.

Lamdry servica avaialble 10RM per kg wash and fold.

Would stay again if ever visit that area.

Conflicted… on one hand the staff is great on the other, internet is painfully slow to the point where you can’t do much at times. Bed is hard and not comfy, “hot” water pretty much cold and the room I was assigned was noisy to the point I couldn’t sleep 3 out of 9 nights. But staff and location is great.

When we arrived we were told that the huge generation is outside making lots of noise and we were offered a different room but worse than the one we paid for. Secondly, the room had a bad smell of sweat and one of the towels was dirty, one pillow case was dirty and I think one of the beds bedding wasn't changed. The hallway wasn't hoovered for ages and it was filthy.
The breakfast was diabolical. Diluted orange drink and 2 sorts of cereal. The cooked breakfast had a choice but it was a small tray with few things on it. Overall this was definitely well overrated hotel and I don't know how the reviews rated it as outstanding. I would say dinghy, smelly, dirty and not worth the money they charged.

Le Dream Boutique Hotel is an amazing place to stay in Penang - I'll definitely be back on my next trip.

The location is excellent. Attractions like Chowrasta Market, Kimberly Street Food Night Market, & Armenian Street Murals are all within walking distance, so we saved a lot on transport. There are also plenty of Michelin eateries and Bib Gourmand spots nearby, plus two fashion malls and two IT malls just minutes away.

The sky bar is a great place to chill every night, especially with the jacuzzi right beside it — highly recommended! I loved the freshly fried French fries too. If anything, the sky bar could be even better with a TV for soccer matches or a few more finger food options.

Outstanding service! The staff gave us a warm welcome the moment we stepped into the lobby and were always so attentive. E.g., when the sky bar wasn’t open on our second night, a staff member noticed us on the CCTV & immediately came up to open it. They even reserved oysters for us & arranged to have them served at the sky bar. Little touches like heating up the oil just to fry a single serving of fries really showed how much they cared.

The room was clean, comfortable, & well-equipped. The bed was supportive (no sinking in!) & the aircon was strong but easy to control with a remote. Even the fridge was super cold — our drinks had ice crystals! I had a great night’s sleep every night.

Overall, this hotel has it all — perfect location, lovely facilities, impeccable service, and cosy rooms.

Excellent location. You can practically walk to most touristic spots of interest. Prangin and 1st Avenue malls are 5 mins walk from the hotel.The free CAT Rapid bus is located by the ferry terminal and takes you around the city loop. If you come by ferry you can take the CAT bus to the hotel which stops opposite Prangin mall.The staff especially Kasthuri and Joey were incredibly helpful and ready to provide info and tips on approach. It is an OK place where the location is good and the price of room is reasonable. The bed is clean and the room is reasonable clean too. However, it really does not deserved the 9 plus overall ratings. The aircon in my room is constantly making squeaking noise due to the flap not functioning properly. The towel rack in the bathroom is broken, and the wash basin is not installed solidly on the floor. I almost toppled the entire wash basin. The shower hot water is erratic and the hot water can be boiling hot, and it's not easy to adjust to the correct water temperature.
Overall it is an ok budget hotel, but not a hotel that I will go back to stay. I will try other hotels in the vicinity next trip.

Enjoyed my stay at Le Dream. It is close to good food options like Kimberley Street night food market and Chowrasta market. Prangin Mall is only a two minute walk away for shopping. Komtar bus terminal is very close for Rapid Penang Bus. Walking distance to most all the sights to see in old George Town. Staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. Rooms have comfortable firm beds and are clean. Shower and bathroom are very good. Safe is available in room to store valuables. Has a mini fridge to keep some drinks cold. Overall it's very good value for your money. Would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable hotel to stay in George Town.

How this hotel got a 9.4 is beyond me. It is a 5 at best in most categories. Was so bad we left a day earlier.
Windows were covered in rusted metal screening and weathered wood. Felt like a prison. Rooftop (where breakfast is served) surrounded by rusted expanded metal and cracked concrete. Not a pleasant place to be. Breakfast, cooked to order, and ordered the day before was good. But other was very lacking, eg. No sugar, butter, jam etc etc.
Water container in lobby was always empty. Do not let photos and description of this hotel fool you. NOT as it seems. More like a backpackers hostel than a \"boutique\" hotel.

Clean and spacious rooms. Full set of amenities including disposable slippers. Two types of shower heads available - fixed overhead and hand held one. It'd be good if the hand held one had different pressure or blast modes. Water spray is a little weak. Room comes with a safe, iron and ironing board, kettle, mini refrigerator and two umbrellas. Given two free bottles of water, tea bags, coffee everyday. Internet connection is intermittent and not so strong so have to keep logging in. Overall, the hotel is clean and comfortable in a convenient location. Service staff is polite and helpful too. Keep up the good work! Highly recommend.

This location was perfect for all access locations due to hotel in the middle of Georgetown. Mila was highly helpful on her job with providing guideline local direction and recommendations. I have one major question is Le Dream communication with any future booking customer by Expedia messages? I try to send messages through my Expedia but no response and this is not the first time. Anyway I have to call in to chat with your customer service for clarification.
Overall I highly recommend this hotel and they have new modern room and bathroom. Parking is limited with first come first 2 spots, but at night is easy to find parking on the street. Streets parking all day is RM 8.

The location is unbeatable with walking distance to a mall, public market, street food, upside down museum, and chow jetty.
I can hear people upstairs and in the hallway but it is okay since we do not stay in the room for too long.

The room’s downside is the small vanity sink was leaking water in the back and it splashes to the toilet paper holder next to it when we use it.

It is an awesome stay overall!

Decent little boutique hotel, well located right next a street market and within a 10-15 minute walk from many of the sites around Georgetown. Clean room and and very nice staff. There's also a good 24/7 laundromat just a block away for anyone travelling for longer periods of time.

The main downside of the hotel was the bed. I don't think I've ever slept on a harder mattress in my life, which gave me a bit of a sore back throughout my stay in Penang.
