We stopped for 3 nights in the room witch was classed as a club room there was only 4 coat hangers and no where to put your clothes my where put on the floor I did mention to the front desk and they put another 4 coat hangers in the room but for the price they charge I don’t think we’ll be going back we were only 2 of I definitely think a family of four would struggle

We were given a disabled room, which we didn’t book or ask for. Nobody told us upon check-in either… and we only found out, once in the room. I kindly asked a reception for the right room, only to be sadly told; “we’ve ran out of the rooms you booked”, which was upsetting. The sink was very low-down, which I understand for the people wishing to book this particular room, as it would be perfect for them, however very unpractical for myself and my partner. Much to my dismay, we had other issues too, so I’ve had no choice but to rate our stay as “poor” because on the whole it was and I was promised a refund via Christine, which I’m still waiting for- as I cannot seem to contact any member of staff via their telephone numbers. They all ring out and when I asked reception, they said they’d had issues with it for a while… showing there are many issues ongoing within the hotel, that are yet to be remedied, even though they’re aware of them and create bad customer service for their customers. Such a shame VH.

The room was booked as a club but was nothing short of a double with espresso machine and bag of Haribo. I do. It mind doubles but when you pay the extra!!!
Room was full of dust, Bathroom door was dirty. An excuse for a blind and due to the window gaps kept tapping through the night. Stayed at a few Villages over the years and this was by far the worse.

I’ve stayed in this village hotel many times and always appreciated its comfortable beds, welcoming staff, and excellent bar and restaurant. Its location is fantastic, and the reception team continues to be friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately, this most recent visit didn’t meet the usual standards. The room we were given had clearly just been painted, and due to the lingering smell. It seems the room hadn’t been properly checked afterwards—there was grime on the bathroom floor, chewing gum left in the bin, and paint marks inside the bath. One of the pillows was noticeably grubby, and the additional touches that usually come with a club room, such as sweets, were missing entirely.
I raised my concerns with reception and was advised the manager would follow up. A week has passed with no contact, which adds to the disappointment.
While I know this hotel can offer a great experience—it has in the past—this visit fell short. I hope this was an isolated case and that steps are taken to ensure rooms are properly checked before guests arrive.

Two nights on the trot, there were events happening - a disco and then a wedding. We complained to staff about the loud music on the 2nd night - Sat 19th July, about 11:30pm. I was smirked at by one of the staff on duty at the desk that night and the comment \"well there's a wedding going on\". We were on the 2nd floor of the hotel of the hotel and could have joined in with the dancing, because it was so loud. This carried on beyond 1am. I did say to the staff member that I am a guest of the hotel and NOT the wedding and that surely the music level should be turned down at a reasonable hour.

Booked a club room package with breakfast and facilities use. On arrival I thought everything looked reasonable. Reception has a self check-in that had a member of staff available. Seemed very impersonal and peculiar given there was a staff member there. Bedroom was decorated to a decent standard but the cleanliness was way below expectations. Carpets scruffy and dirty. Bathroom floor and fixings were dirty, dusty and full of previous guests hairs! Cobwebs everywhere. Bar area was ok. Pizzas were good. Used the virtual darts board which was fun, but charging £10 per person for 1 hour was expensive (each extra would be the same but same time)
Had to return to reception to ask about breakfast, was told 8-10:30. Breakfast was what you’d expect from a buffet.
Came down for breakfast at 09:05 on the Monday morning and watched everything being taken away! Ask receptionist what was going and to be told breakfast finishes at 9 on a weekday, and there was nothing she could do! She asked if we had been informed at check in. No attempt to help rectify, was just informed it’s on the “news paper” left in our room! She then pointed to the in-house Starbucks which obviously defeated the purpose and was not a reasonable solution in my eyes given I’d already paid for breakfast. Other family members staying had the same issue, along with another guest whom overheard us in the lift. I will avoid for any future accommodation needs.

The “let down” was the breakfast which was honestly terrible. Lukewarm reconstituted egg and measly selection. I would only return for work.

Our stay was terrible. We were given a room directly above the function room where a loud party was going on until 1:00am. When we requested a move to a quieter location we were told that the hotel was fully booked. Why the consider it acceptable to place anyone in room 152 during a function is beyond me. Also, despite complaining we've received zero communication from the hotel management. Terrible customer service

Easy to find, plenty of parking, quick check in and decent size rooms. We're not gym folk but it looks good and a decent size pool.

Breakfast is plentiful, great selection, tadty and hot, also a relaxing atmosphere.

A Starbucks at the entrance of the hotel is very convenient, as well as sets the theme and expectation one can expect from this establishment.

An excellent location for visiting Manchester and Liverpool area. The hotel is located in a remote area of Warrington that felt safe and quiet. The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious, as were the shower and bathrooms. The place was quite busy over the weekends as it is frequented by locals, but such liveliness is well kept away from the bedrooms which was much appreciated.

An overall pleasant and comfortable stay that was just slightly depreciated by the lack of enthusiasm from the lady receptionist.

Excellent hotel, loved using the gym and the Starbucks. This would have been a 5 star review but the restaurant bar let the experience down a bit. Village hotels are a gym centric chain and as such I'd expect them to promote wellness and healthy living but the bar menu is all meat and BBQ fries stuff. A couple of veggie option not clearly labelled as vegan or vegetarian and this was disappointing. Everything else was excellent and I will use village hotels wherever possible now but I'll look for an alternative place to eat.

This is our third time staying at the village when we go back to Warrington with my mom to visit her hometown. The Village is a perfect location and the staff is amazing. Our only complaint is the lighting in the rooms is aweful when trying to get ready. And plug access is also limited to areas where you need them when trying to get ready. But with that being said, the rooms are nice, not a lot of extra ammentities, but it's fine for sleeping and being close to the town center, Stockton Heath and Bank Quay train station.

Time to give up on Village Hotels

Paid extra for a Club Room, which turned out to be dirty and in very poor condition. Marks all over the walls. Large dent in the wall with plaster falling off, which looked like someone had punched the wall and it had just been left. Dubious stains on the bathroom floor and doorframe. Dust and grime suggests it has not been deep cleaned in a very long time. We arrived late and didn’t want to switch rooms but wish we had when at 4am the shower started by itself and woke us. Seemed to be an issue with water pressure as the rainfall shower was also terribly weak when we came to use it. This was my third visit to a village hotel this year and it will be my last. Used to be a go to choice but they are simply not spending the money to refresh the tired rooms and the condition and cleanliness is abysmal.

Village hotel Warrington is a nice hotel and it's short walk to city centre with good choice of restaurants, pubs and cafes. It's own restaurant is alright but the food choice is limited and maybe a bit expensive. Rooms are clean and comfortable, there's gym and swimming pool worth visiting and a café inside the hotel, good breakfast, free parking, overall a good choice of hotel in the area, certainly recommended.

In my thirty years of staying in hotels for work probably my worse experience and I have never complained in my life before. 2star at best, dinner was no better than a Witherspoons and breakfast was a disaster. I had to ask along with three other guests to refill the buffet and when eventually they did my hash brown was still frozen inside along with cold beans. I request some form of compensation for this appalling experience after paying £213 for one night stay. Outrageous

This hotel is a good example of how, with the right marketing budget, you can create an image that doesn’t reflect the reality.

Normally, we’re not fans of posting negative reviews, but since we, as a family, stayed for a week in a family room, we would like to share our experiences in the hope that others can benefit from them.

The facilities seemed promising, after all, it was a 4-star rated hotel.

However, nothing could be further from the truth. The focus seemed to be mainly on secondary activities like a gym and a pool that was open to everyone, rather than on the hotel’s primary offerings.

The gym and pool were fine, generally clean apart from some minor maintenance issues.
The hotel room itself was not clean, with common issues like a lot of hair in the shower and bath drains, the room hadn’t been vacuumed, the beds weren’t made, and the number of towels varied daily.

The fact that the heating didn’t work on the first day (hence the extra space heater) and that there was no hot water one afternoon due to a malfunction, we accepted as isolated incidents. However, other reviews suggest that these issues occur regularly.

We really got a motel feeling from this place, definitely not a 4-star experience. At best, it felt like a 3-star hotel, barely.

After sharing this feedback with the staff (who were generally friendly and helpful), the situation regarding housekeeping unfortunately did not improve.

Our engineer arrived on site to be told there was no room in the name given. I booked the room for one of my engineers so he gave them my name, then we sent him the reservation under his name and was told that there was no record anywhere they were full up and to take it up with Expedia. The receptionist was extremely rude and did not want to provide any help

I liked the parking facilities and the bed was very comfortable but some of the hotel staff seemed annoyed or like they didn’t were working unpaid because when talking to them I got the feeling we were bothering them.

Starbucks staff however were polite and lovely for the entire stay. there was a Young lady on reception who wasn’t rude but she was highly dismissive and she seemed annoyed at something. Also came across an instructor in the gym area which was ignoring the fact that she needed to exit the studio for next class to start and she left her mat in middle of the floor.
And so did some of her participants.

we had dinner at the function room on the saturday night and everyone was commenting on the lack of quality. mains were bland chicken mash and very old dark spotted carrots with gravy and for dessert… aldi quality profiteroles. and if you were gluten free…. fruit. there was non-gluten free toast at the breakfast and overall for the £90 a night stay that is the hotel, we couldn't even enjoy the hot tub without having to be told to come out every 10 mts for ',chemical cleaning' so we were in and out and in and out and in and then i just quit and left.

the event we attended was great. but the hotel needs some serious upgrading.

The room was very comfortable, but slight signs of aging. Paint flaking on the walls, and a stain in the headboard. But these are minor to the comfortable bed and quality of the room.

The staff were excellent. I watched a young lad in the restaurant, who was looking after a lady with mobility issues. He did everything for her he could to help her and she never had to lift a finger. He came over to my table and was so pleasant, he and the other breakfast staff were a credit to the the hotel.

We were staying at the hotel for a wedding; due to creamfields being on in the area we paid well over the usual price, which was fine and convenient for us. On arrival we decided it would be a good idea to extend our room for a late check out, I paid the extra cost and the person on reception confirmed this was added to the booking. We had a wonderful time at the wedding and were looking forwards to a late lie in bed only to be knocked up at 10.55 and the room entered by the cleaner, I told her I had a late check out and she apologised and advised there is nothing on the booking, I told her I had paid the extra and it was all confirmed and I won’t be leaving until that time, she said again she had not been informed and apologised, by this time my partner was now awake we are both in bed and I’m trying to explain this whilst clutching the covers to protect my modesty. Housekeeping then thankfully closed the door. On checking out around 12.30 we advised the receptionist, she apologised and said this was clearly stated on the booking, we were offered coffee on leaving but we were going for breakfast so didn’t want one but were advised someone would call us, unfortunately this never happened.
