We had a fantastic stay. The room was immaculate, the finish was perfect and it was very clean. We had a pet friendly room which was lovely and it was a nice surprise to have dog bowls, treats, dog bed and blanket in the room. Breakfast was very nice and we also chose to have dinner in the pub due our stay which was also very nice. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Just a couple of very small things which could make the whole experience a bit better would be plumper pillows and the way in from the car park doesn’t really match up to how amazing the rest of the establishment is.

We only stayed for one night as we came up from Chester to pick up a boxer puppy early on the Saturday,if we’d have known how lovely it was,we would have stayed an extra night,the staff and rooms are lovely (although our room did smell quite musty and there was quite a lot of mould in the bathroom on the shower and bottom of the bath) we had a meal there on the Friday evening when we arrived,it was so busy with Christmas party’s but the staff were so happy and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us,no matter how busy they were,it was like they were only serving us,the food was lovely and the decor of the bar and restaurant are stunning,it’s such a shame that we live so far away,if we didn’t I would most definitely stay here again,I 100% recommend you stay here xx

The George, fantastic mini break hotel
On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly staff member who check us in, showed us to our room and gave us all the information we needed for our stay. The room was lovely, well equipped and clean, we ate evening meals in the restaurant on two night, the menu had plenty of choice, the staff were all very good with nothing being too much trouble, not only was the service very efficient the staff made you feel welcome. We also ate in the restaurant for three breakfasts and the service, food quality, staff friendliness and efficiency was excellent. Throughout the day the hotel was busy and welcoming, but they always had enough staff to cater for the demand.

Although I arrived late in the evening I had a warm welcome and check in. Great Yorkshire hospitality at its best, My room was very spacious for the night, a fantastic breakfast cooked to order the following morning. All the staff were both professional and courteous in their duties.

After a bit of a shaky start, which, to be fair was outside the staff's control, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The George. We were staying there in order to check its potential as guest accommodation for guests attending our daughter's wedding in 2026. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable and the breakfasts and evening meals were delicious.

The food and service in the restaurant was great. However I was really disappointed with the condition of the room - the bathroom in particular was really shabby and the tiles were dirty. There was also a really long wait when we first arrived at the hotel to check-in. The pub and restaurant were both busy, so a short delay was understandable, but we were waiting nearly 15 minutes. For £120 a night, it did not offer good value.

We stayed four nights. We had dinner in the hotel on the first night, which was really excellent. Good choice of interesting and well cooked dishes, served by pleasant and helpful staff. On the other nights we had commitments elsewhere so, sadly, couldn’t sample more of the menu. Breakfasts were very good, albeit fairly limited cereal selection. Our room, in the rear extension, was very comfortable. Easingwold is a good base for exploring North Yorkshire.

Food was excellent both dinners and breakfasts with grea helpful staff. Bar service and quality was good with some nice beers. However the bed was very uncomfortable and the room noisy with music till midnight and furniture being moved aroiund somewhere on a hard floor. Kept us awake. Room was rather tired and requests for milk for the 2nd night not dealt with.

The rooms were excellent. Very clean and well equipped. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast and the dinner in the restaurant was fantastic too. The hotel is in a good location in Easingwold which is a nice village and good access to places of interest in the area.

Went for a short Easter break and stayed a couple of nights. Receptionist and all staff very pleasant throughout stay. Room comfortable and very clean. A nice gesture was an Easter egg in the room for Easter Sunday. Parking available on street and there is a free car park a few yards away.

Bus stop outside with easy access to York, removing the hassle of finding parking in the city centre.

Traditional style hotel. Rooms were clean and spacious. The stay at the George Inn was spoilt by the noise from the air conditioning unit running all night by the bedroom window giving a poor nights sleep. Friendly helpful service. Easingwold has plenty to offer and is a good location to stay.

The room was a bit tired and the sheets and pillowcases on the bed seemed as equally tired. It was however a reasonable price. Our room was immediately above the bar and we could hear a lot of noise but at 2300 it stopped and from thereon very peaceful. The staff were extremely hospitable and made you feel very welcome. The beer was top notch and the food in the restaurant excellent and plenty of it. The hotel is in a lovely location in the centre of Easingwold. I would stay again but not in room 3 and would hope the other rooms are not so tired. On the other hand we have friends who adore such tiredness. Each to their own!

A little hard to find when your driving, however it’s right on the high street of the beautiful little town. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, upon arrival we were given a tour and shown to our room. The room was lovely and well equipped although the bed was a little hard for us. We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing, a tasty roast beef dinner was just what we needed. We had a good nights sleep and another delicious meal at breakfast before leaving. Special thanks to the lovely land lady who took the time to look up what was going on in York for us as it was Easter Sunday whist we were there. I would definitely come back!
