The only challenge we encountered was figuring out the heating system. The wall thermostat controlled the AC, not the heat. Eventually, we discovered the heat came from the fireplaces—though only one of the two fireplaces was working (the one in the second bedroom).
Overall, The Rigdon House was a comfortable, clean, and lovely place to stay. We will definitely be coming back to the Rigdon House.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this place! If I could rate it at 10 stars, I would! We stayed there for two nights for our 15th wedding anniversary and had such an amazing time. I had told the manager that we were celebrating our anniversary and they offered us a complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival. They have a fantastic FREE happy hour in the evenings with some truly fantastic drinks (not watered down, pre mixed bottle kind, but the real deal with a different selection each night)! Our room was so spacious and lovely with a separate seating area. We also enjoyed the patio at night with the fire pit. The hotel was apparently built in the late 1800's, so it has this fantastic charm that you rarely see anymore. But it has be renovated and kept up, without losing that unique character. The location was also ideal as we could walk to everything. We will definitely be back! Already looking forward to our next stay! Highly recommend!

This was one of the most charming places I've ever stayed. My family was doing a California roadtrip and stayed in the Rigdon House for one night, but everyone was wishing we could stick around for more. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The place itself was not bad, but after this stay, I will stay anywhere without a staff on property overnight anymore. Around 8pm, I used the toilet for the first time and realized the handle was not working. Of course staff was gone for the day already. My husband and I attempted to fix it but could not. We have to remove the toilet tank cover and pull it from the inside to flush each time. I tried to message them on their app system but no response. Even the next day when we checked out, no staff to be seen. I messaged them again after I left, still no response.
Also, room that we got seems smaller than what I booked/not as described. So I sent them an email to ask. Not surprised, no response.

Pleasant and Comfortable stay
The Rigdon House is a quaint, older hotel located in the heart of downtown. My wife and I love staying due to its close proximity to all the shops and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet. The maid service is excellent. We have stayed there 8 times in the past 5-years. Our only, and continued request, is they continue to update the rooms and provide better water pressure for the showers. I understand water conservation and the need to put restrictors on the heads but the amount of water that trickles out is ridiculous, requiring extended time to completely rinse. Still, The Rigdon House is a great value for the price, and I continue to recommend it to others

My friend and I visited Cambria to take in the sights at the Fiscalini Ranch and to tour the lighthouse. We stayed two nights.
What we liked about our room, #16. Very spacious - comfortable beds - handy microwave, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, and a small drip coffee maker. The hotel is in a nice location and we enjoyed the courtyard that backs up to a serene green space.
What we didn’t like - furniture in sitting room looked like thrift store finds and there were no chairs as were shown in the room photos. Room was very dark unlike the room photo. Being on the bottom floor we could hear the footsteps/noises from our upstairs neighbors.
There was only one person in attendance the whole time we were there and he leaves the premises at nine p.m. so there’s no one on duty. Many times when we went to the lobby area there was no one present. Never stayed at a hotel where there was no one on night duty.

This is one of the nicest Inns we have ever stayed at. The rooms are HUGE and beautifully furnished. The location is perfect. Very quiet and private. Coffee available in your room and in the morning room. 2 hour happy hour each evening from 5-7 with a delicious fresh baked gourmet flatbread. An incredible value with their reasonable pricing. Can't recommend them highly enough!

Love staying at Rigdon House when I’m in the Central Coast! Their rooms are cozy and complete with all the amenities you need, including toiletries, makeup wipes, extra towels, etc. Each room I have stayed in includes an electric fireplace and a coffee bar with drip coffee, an electric kettle, a microwave and mini fridge. There’s a coffee room in the main building where you can grab tea, tea cups, dishes and snacks, including popcorn, cookies and fruit.

Plus, it’s walkable to downtown Cambria, where you’ll find great food, some shopping and a natural foods market with an amazing deli.
