Lovely hotel, very picturesque. Rooms were warm and comfortable. Staff very friendly and accommodating. My only negative was the cost of food and wine. We had a lovely meal the first night but it’s very expensive, especially the wine which was good but very overpriced. For our second night we ate near Broadway for a third of the cost.

The staff was also so kind of let us know about the history of the manor which was fascinating. We have told many friends and family about this place and we will definitely be back.

It was a cute enough estate, however for the price, we would definitely not stay again. We were kind of made to feel unwelcome, and the room was very small. It was beautifully decorated though. But when you’re paying to stay in a manor, you expect to have full and comfortable use of the common areas for relaxation etc. the fireplaces weren’t lit even though it was chilly each night and when we asked we were always told “maybe tomorrow night”. Overall our stay was enjoyable and the staff were very courteous at all times. Our room was comfortable and clean but there were areas, particularly in the bar area which were very dusty, in particularly under the table where the menus sat and the adjacent chair. There is not really a true bar area where we might have congregated with other guests and during the time we did sit there the “barman” only appeared briefly once! Breakfast was great but didn’t experience an evening meal as the menu had no appeal

We couldn’t fault this property at all, from the very friendly and warm reception on arrival to our beautiful room complete with lovely linens on the bed. There was even a hot water bottle in the drawer for those extra chilly nights. They thought of everything. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Our room was 500 pounds a night and the venue was pretty enough but the service was shockingly bad. Arrived by car in the rain the doorman just watched us get wet and could have come out with an umbrella… checkin was like a motel….first nights dinner staff were having a party in the kitchen for all to hear… told waiter and they just got louder no respect and no training

This is a charming place, with considerate staff. The Oak Room where we stayed is beautiful but has a lot of people walking past the door, including staff. My one wish would be for a fitness center, but it is a pleasant walk into Broadway.

This is a beautiful, antique filled property in a charming area of the Cotswolds. Our room was comfortable and the food, especially breakfast, was quite good. However it seems to need updating and there are areas of the property that could be upgraded. Staff was hit and miss. The dinner was good, though actually too many complimentary starters and fewer main and dessert options. All in all this needs someone with a fresh eye to add some verve to the place (without ruining its historic charm, of course).

The building - Manor House- was gorgeous and historical at the same time. Sometimes those 2 don’t go hand in hand. It was very elegant with comfortable accommodations. The house is situated in the mist of a garden and very close to numerous walking trails. Also there is a very lovely church adjacent to the house. The waitstaff was very professional and friendly- the chef was first rate - I can’t say enough about what a gem this place truly is.

We stayed at Buckland Manor for 4 nights & had a really nice time. We loved the setting & gardens which were peaceful & relaxing. The staff were very welcoming, polite , helpful & attentive throughout our stay! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Our room, Green Room was a little dated in decor but spacious and the bed was really comfortable.The bathroom was big and the toiletries were really nice. We were really pleased with our room overall. Our main issue was the instant coffee - tea and coffee making facilities were provided but the coffee provided was Nescafe Instant coffee which is just horrible. I don't know why a 4* star hotel does not provide a coffee machine. That being said we were able to order a fresh pot of ground coffee to our room every morning at a set time a not extra charge so that was really good. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant but did have food from the light meals menu on 2 occasions and both times the food was delicious. We chose not to eat in the main restaurant because you are required to wear a jacket which we felt for us was just too formal so cannot comment on the fine dining. The wine list was extensive but our one issue was that there was a limited choice of wines by the glass. Breakfast choice was really good and food was tasty. Not sure how can out of orange juice though which happened on morning!! But we were happy with other juices offered as an alternative.

Expensive remote hideaway
A nice weekend break in a lovely area. Hotel a bit remote and 5 minutes drive to Broadway. Accommodation, food and drink very expensive especially disliked the room allocated which was Sophia and overlooked and right next to the graveyard. No locks on bedroom doors is strange and in this day and age poor that there are hunting pictures in the bedroom and hotel and very poor that a hotel of this standard does not offer a full vegetarian breakfast. When we asked for veggie sausages we were told that there isn't a demand for such.

Brilliant Location and property
A delightful property in stunning grounds. Ten minutes or so from Broadway by car, but some really good walks in the area. Food and drink were excellent, not cheap but a sense of getting what you pay for makes that more than acceptable. We would thoroughly recommend the hotel and would certainly consider visiting again in the future.

Disappointing experience
The welcome at Buckland Manor was completely underwhelming. We had to haul our bags up the steps and through a few tricky doors, then we were left unattended for ages while the receptionists had long conversations about nothing in particular with various people. We had requested a quiet room in the eaves but were 'upgraded' to a larger room on the ground floor which had a flimsy door, through which one could hear all the comings and goings, as well as conversations in the lounges. As the hotel was full, there was no chance of changing. The room itself had problems, for example the shower was very small, and the television, which was perched on an old chest, was in an inconvenient position for viewing and on a slope. There was no music system. In the lounge they offer you things but actually finding out the prices takes effort (it's all very expensive). The staff were helpful with taxis but these are also pricey and, at the time of our visit, in short supply. Wifi was unreliable.

An ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds either by car or on foot. Well done everyone a most enjoyable stay.
