The floors were black from lack of cleaning and led me to check for bed bugs and they were confirmed. I spoke with Nacho at front desk and was informed they were sold out. Bar and restaurant area looked great

So for being a upscale hotel it was dirty in the room. Bathroom floors need to be recaulked. We walked the town and it was in a good location. Staff is great. Breakfast was lacking refills of milk and didn't offer regular coffee.

Location was good but surrounding area was just Ok. Normal room size was very small for the cost. There was just about 2 -3 feet around the bed. It was a bit claustrophobic. Staff is really nice and helpful.

Great location close to the Sagrada Familia but small. We wanted 2 twin beds -- well we had 2 twin beds but they had to be so close to each other that it was really 1 king bed and not much other space in the room (could barely get my suitcase between the foot of the bed and the wall)

Great location.. 15 mins walk to la Sagrada familia..really close to metro stop, lots of places to eat around the hotel, mini supermarkets as well. 14 mins walk to a nice mini mall with lots to eat, shop and the flea market is also about a 16 mins walk, to get to the airport on the metro was a bit long, so be prepared. Overall, good hotel and would stay again.

For our room, bathroom is clean, water pressure and water temperature are great. Air conditioning is okay - temperature swings over night, sometimes it gets too warm without changing the setting. Some outlets for charging don’t work.

Overall, this hotel is still a good choice.

Decent size room but bathroom was a joke. You had to literally climb over the toilet to get into the bath / shower. Extremely unsafe. Had to sit sideways on the toilet because of a marble counter directly in front of it that you hit your legs on when you stand up. Bath was so small you could only sit cross legged in it or go on your back and slide your legs up the wall (not an exageration - the toilet was more than half the length of the bath). I don't mind a small bathroom but it has to be functional... The staff reaction when I reported this and the dirty blankets & dirty towel was non-descript - no apology, nothing. This hotel shouldn't be offered on Expedia.

Hotel Catalonia Sagrada Familia

The Catalonia Sagrada Familia is a lovely little hotel, with very friendly staff and a nice little bar and restaurant. While it may not be located in the best part of the city, it’s a 15 minute walk to the Sagrada Familia. There are some nice little cafes and restaurants dotted about the place within easy walking distance. I’d definitely stay there again and wouldn’t have any issues in recommending it to friends.

Totally waste of money. The room was very very small. Claustrophobic. 8 feet width and probably including the toilet room, it would be about 15 feet in length. For the price of 225 euros per night, I stayed for 3 nights. It was a sheer and total waste of money. No sufficient toiletries. Just one bottle of water which was not replaced. There was a balcony which is of no use, especially if you are a business traveler.

This hotel was just “ok” in my opinion. The staff were not very friendly, the check-in took over 20 minutes, and the room was not fully cleaned when I arrived. I did feel safe and it served it’s purpose of being a place to stay while in town. It’s just a very far walk from a lot of things to do.

The rooms have everything you need for a stay - i stayed for business so didn't spend much time in the hotel but the room was comfortable and clean and the staff very helpful. The breakfast room is large and well set out with a great choice and good food so this is a huge plus. i have stayed here twice now and would stay again. The hotel is manageable walk to the Sagrada familia, and there are plenty of restaurants and shops within a 20 minute walk. The pool is very small and overlooked by appartments but they have made good use of the area and is nice for a quick dip

New favourite spot in Barcelona

This place is amazing for a three star hotel. I have stayed in a few places in the Sagrada Familia vicinity and I definitely would come back here. Firstly, the rooms very very clean, hoovered and serviced daily. There was a generous supply of toiletries, toothbrush/toothpaste pack and razor/shaving cream packs, as well as the usual vanity kits etc. slippers also provided. Great air conditioning which was a life saver during one of the hottest weeks in July/Aug. I didn’t dine there however the set up and menus were impressive. Our room had tea and coffee facilities as well as a very handy fridge for milk and snacks. We also were delighted to have a beautiful balcony to relax on complete with table and chairs.
The location is the biggest highlight in my opinion, Clot metro station is less than five minutes walk which served us most of our stay. We also used Encants station which again was less than 10 mins in the opposite direction. Closeby there are plenty of great supermercats, a lidl, bakeries and restaurants.
The only thing I would prefer would be a larger pool area, we checked it out but it was quite small and many people already using it, not a big deal as we used Barcelonetta beach most days to swim.
Overall delighted with our stay and hope to visit again.

A budget hotel. Pictures are very cleverly taken! We had no issues with our stay, but expected more based on other reviews and pictures. Breakfast was not good in our opinion. Close to a tube station but not particularly close to the centre. I would say hotel lacked ‘pizzazz’. Pool is very small and cold- is also shaded for a lot of the day as is sandwiched between high rise flats! If you’re looking for a place to get your head down, this is for you. Any more, I personally wouldn’t recommend,

Booked a double room with queen bed. Arrived at hotel (friendly reception staff), and got given a tiny, brown room with two single beds which strongly smelled
Of cigarettes and some king of aftershave to try to cover it up.

Cigarette burned work top just to add to the glamour.

Looks over main road, not in a good way.

Twin beds was a nightmare as a couple.

Reception staff not very accommodating when we asked to be moved to the room we had booked.
Wouldn’t recommend or stay again.

Lovely walking & dining mall nearby.
Close to train station and nice walk to the fabulous Sagrada Família.

Overall, a good stay!

The hotel was comfortable and clean. The variety at breakfast was amazing, with made to order omelettes, pancakes, fruit, cereal etc. The rooms were a decent size and were cleaned well before and during our stay. The reception staff worked quite slowly but were helpful enough but the housekeeping staff and the man who helped with luggage/room service etc we’re the friendliest and most helpful. Overall a good stay and would come again

Room is dated, not comfy and noisy morning when room make-up started. Stepped on a cockroach in the dark at night when going to the bathroom (so please bring your own slippers and wear !) Staff are professional but not necessary friendly. Got a better room and cheaper rate in better neighbourhood for the remaining half of my trip in Barcelona.

The room could NOT have been any smaller and it was VERY NOISY!

The walls are paper thin and you can hear every movement and word from the rooms either side of you.

My colleague was two rooms away from us and he could hear the same noise as me so noise transfers though the building really easily.

We were there for business and my company was paying (£ 100.00 per night for a single room!) if i would have been there for a holiday with my wife..........Id have been in a Spanish jail right now for what I would have done!!!

There is a lift BUT its so so small and takes ages to come and as I use am mobility walker it was embarrassing to try to get myself and my walker in there when there was anyone else in the lift as there is no room at all.

I am working in Barcelona again this year but give me a modern Holiday Inn or Ibis any day as at least you know you know what you are getting - this pace is way too random.

Hotel is a few minutes walk from encants metro which is 1 stop from sagrada familia.
Hotel is clean and comfortable though the rooms .
I would stay here again.
The restaurant menu is rather limited.
If you turn left out of the hotel and walk just a few hundred meters along Arago you will find excellent local bars and restaurants as an alternative to going into the busier (expensive) areas.
All in all a good hotel for the price.
Only down side was smell of cigarette smoke coming through the ventilation sometimes.

I'm a repeat customer. It's just the right size for me and the location is great, plenty of reasonably priced places to eat, shop, etc. nearby. (The hotel breakfast is more than adequate.) Glories shopping center is a short walk away. It's about equidistant between Encants and Clot Metro stations so the city is at your command. The staff is beyond compare. Visit my home away from home #1 - Barcelona!!!

Room cancellation without notice

We arrived at the hotel at 10.30pm to be told that our reservation had been cancelled. I had received no notification of this and neither had Expedia.
The receptionist was distinctly unhelpful and said all their rooms were full.
We contacted Expedia who also tried to avoid responsibility and were not very helpful.
Fortunately the Manager from a sister hotel happened to come at that point and offered a room for the night.
I have had to rate the hotel room and facilities but actually never got that far!

Stay was good. The young boy at reception was very helpful and friendly. Helped me with my luggage and also fetch a taxi on the street for me then help me load it into the car. Convenient and close to transport. Small restaurant across the road is fantastic, very busy all the time and food is so fresh and tasty.

Good hotel in walking distance to Sagrada Familia

We chose this hotel as it was a short walk to the SagradaFamilia, which it was. The room was ok and the bed very comfortable, with a nice bathroom including a bath. There was a nearby street with lots of bakeries, cafes, deli and supermarket which provided a great range of eating options. The pool was quite small with a nice lounge area. We enjoyed our stay.
