It was a good hotel. The staff was very friendly and the location was great. The beds weren’t very comfortable, though, and the dinner at the hotel (I know, why would we eat at the hotel) wasn’t the best. I would still recommend for anyone going to Barcelona.

Very clean and comfortable rooms. The location is also excellent: You have a mall right across and plenty of coffee shops and restaurants nearby. The staff is also quite friendly. I must add that Juan, the supervisor, was extremely kind and helpful. We asked for suggestions on day trips and restaurants, and he helped us plan out our trip. He is very knowledgeable and an excellent addition to the personnel! Next time we go back to Barcelona we will make sure to stay at this property.

it was christmas so they were short staffed. Also the elevator required a key and it never worked. We were locked out of our room and the elevator 5 times during the stay - i guess this happens all the time.

Front desk staff seem to be linked to Barcelona’s anti tourism group. Just generally unfriendly. We were 3 Adult family & were given only one key. We asked more but refused! Really unbelievable. Luggage guys cut from the same cloth. Efficient & friendly guy in rooftop bar.

I have been traveling to Sevilla and Madrid in this trip but I have no experience this kind of poor service.

Excellent hotel. We had a suite room and it was great. Only two negatives: although the view from our room was wonderful, the windows were so dirty on the outside that it was hard to see the view. Also, they need more wait staff in the roof-top bar, especially on Saturday or when it has recently rained (to dry off tables).

Hotel is hectic, lots of people busting and bustling at all times.
The buffet breakfast was pretty good, but coffee makers were often not working and hot food was under cooked or raw - staff just could not keep up with the volume of demand.
Location is in a nice neighborhood with restaurants and shopping. Front desk gave us a suggestion for an authentic Spanish dinner and it was EXCELLENT.
It’s close to the Sagrada and a short cab to the beach, but not very central for other attractions.

Do not stay here-you can do better

The most unfriendly staff at the front door. Beds that consisted of only a fitted and flat sheet. Had to call down to ask for a blanket (you would think that’s a basic bed item). Weird bath shower combo tub making it difficult to get in and out of. The building itself is so poorly indicated the taxi driver could barely find it. And so difficult to get taxis to pick you up from it as well. The stupid elevators and the requirement to scan your key card which never worked. And then the lights also wouldn’t stay on despite the card being in. What a terrible representation of this chain. Like get your act together.

They first gave me a dirty room after 2 hours wait before check in .. and then changed my room with complementary card of 3 free drinks at the bar which is end of not working at the time I was trying to use it .. I was charged a 100 euros for a roof top dinner at check out after I was told no bill need to be paid that night !! The place is a scam .. I was promised to get the charge issues resolved and still nothing yet

It was our first stay in Barcelona with my family, the room size and service wasn’t good at all. The shower had issue we call the service desk but no one cared and didn’t get fixed. Room didn’t get cleaned during the day, we have to check out early we were lucky to find some other hotel but since was last minute had to pay much more. We never come back there

I stayed for several consecutive nights, but the quality of service from the staff needs improvement. I understand that this place faces water scarcity, so to take a bath, I needed to request a bathtub plugger from the front desk. However, despite asking for it every day for three days in a row, I never received one. Additionally, the water in the room was supposed to be replenished daily, but on the second night, I had to call and remind them to provide fresh water. Besides, the hotel next door plays electronic music on the rooftop during weekends, lasting until around 11 or 12 at night. For those who are used to sleeping early, it’s practically impossible to fall asleep.

The owner needs to change the keycard access system in rooms as ALL the guests were waiting at reception almost on a daily basis because the card would not work. Hence a lower rating. The staff tell me this has been going on for years and is not being corrected.
The staff are amazing, competent in multiple language, helpful as much as they can be with a faulty access system.
Breakfast was adequate, but I would book without breakfast and go out to have a meal/breakfast as none of the items tasted authentic.
Close to Glories metro station and tram stop literally at the doorstep. easy access to ALL main stops within a 10-30 min metro ride.
Quiet and peaceful at night. Safe area, felt comfortable even with late night walks. Cannot say the same about Rambla or Gothic quarters.
Room was clean and so was toilet.

The hotel has great views of the city. The pool on the roof is convenient. The bar and DJ on Fridays was nice.
However, the property needs to be remodeled: the shower leaked each ti;me, so we needed to put extra towels on the floor. The shampoo and bodywash dispensers fell off the wall. The water in the shower didn't drain, so we were standing in our own filth. The sofa bed was uncomfortable, so we just placed the mattress on the floor (not ideal).
The breakfast buffet was good, with many options.

The chap who checked us in believe his name was Oscar was very very rude. Gave us the key to the room and that was it didn’t even tell us the room number just pointed at the pack with it written on. The key system in the hotel is straight from the early 90’s we were there for two nights and had to get it reprogrammed 6 times, something shared by everyone else in the hotel hence with the big queue at the lifts. The room was okay but bedding smelt stale like it had been left sitting in the washing machine. The girls on reception over the night shift were great though. Very apologetic and helpful.

This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel.
It is a 5 minute walk from a shopping mall, tram, and the metro.
The breakfast was amazing and value for money. We found the staff very friendly .
We stayed for six nights and also ate in the restaurant for two evenings . There was a good choice to eat from.
The location is half an hour in a taxi from the airport which is very handy.
When we went out and about to visit the tourists sites the metro was and tram took us everywhere . We purchased a 5 day Hola Barcelona pass online which is great value for money .
The pool is excellent after a day visiting tourist spots .
Great stay and would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel with great location. Definitely recommend. The first picture on the website is confusing as it’s not the hotel itself but rather nearby tower with an observation deck. The hotel is across the street. The room was spacious and had everything we needed.

Not what I expect from Novotel.

The hotel is very basic with large room and spacious bathroom however, I hate standing in a slippery bath to shower. Wooden floor... I didn't know hotel was dog friendly but no matter... I love dogs. No bottled water or tissues in room and their excuse is they are eco friendly... poor! Dining is poor with too many hamburgers listed and this obviously resulted in poor attendance (MsDonalds across the road!) and also wine by the glass had been opened several days earlier. However, the charming head waiter made up for that and promptly opened two bottles not listed on the menu so as I said, excellent service.
Within 25min walk to the basilica which we were unable to view inside... tickets sold out and can only be booked on line! Would I return, probably yes.

Air conditioning did not work in our first room. Despite multiple calls to the front desk and then saying they would send someone up to check it, no one ever showed up. Eventually, as it was time to go to sleep, we called again and they told us that no one was available to come check it and that we would have to switch rooms. so, at 11 PM we switch to a room with air conditioning five floors below where we were initially staying and had to move all of our luggage ourselves. The overall condition of the hotel rooms showed lack of maintenance and upkeep.

Single night stay for a conference. Hotel is ok, room is ok but expensive for just ok.
Service, well, truly specific to my stay but got in touch in advance to advise a parcel was being delivered for my conference. Parcel arrived but turned away due to some fees. Emailed me to tell me this but why they couldn’t just call me and either I pay or they put on my room instead really dont know. Needless to say parcel didn’t turn up on time. Specific instructions with the front desk to deliver it to me downstairs as soon as it arrived. Nothing. Found out it was delivered during the afternoon but nobody decided to tell me. Disapointing

Great hotel in a great location. Very close to several train and tram lines, directly across the street from the Glories mall with great food options, and walking distance to the Sagrada Familia.
Room was very clean and nice and roomy. Very nice staff. Rooftop pool was very nice and had great views as well. Would stay here again without question.

This hotel was in a great location and it was really clean. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast they offer is really great.
The facilities are just really dated. The first room we checked into had broken air conditioning. The front desk staff knew about it and were willing to move us but it was more work for us with little kids. The beds are also older and it really just felt dated.

Location good, staff polite but really didn’t care after numerous times going to see them regarding our card not working to use the lift and to get into our room we were up and down like yo yo’s. Also not happy with the safety on the roof top terrace, there is hand rails but these are obstructed by planters, the steps are of different heights and no markings on the steps my mam actually fell and broke her arm but was very lucky it wasn’t more serious

They will require you to get another room if you have 5 people (with 6yr old kid). Not very friendly and accommodating. Gave me a card for the room and accidentally walked in on someone’s room. Then Gave us the room key 3 different times it wouldn’t work on the elevator. So frustrating and the manager gave us a not so nice comment when I asked to escort us to our room. Never again going back here..

This is a nice business hotel in a good location, just across from the Westfield Glories mall. There were a few things that could have been done to make the stay better.

-USB ports in the room (surprised this hotel doesn't have them and markets themselves as a business hotel, you need a full charger for every device)
-One had a bin in the bathroom area, would have been nice to have one under the desk
-Could not run a bath - now apparently this is due to the drought in Barcelona, but me running the water for 10 minutes trying to figure out how to plug the drain doesn't help. Staff downstairs wasn't helpful, said it was due to the drought, but there was no signage or anything in the bathroom.

Pros - Nice children's area, filled with games, giant teddy bear all the children gravitated towards

FYI - Breakfast is a bit of a rip off for the price. My family of 4 ate brunch next door at the Hoxton for the same price as the discounted breakfast at the hotel, no where near as crazy, messy or chaotic.

We were a family of 4...room was a good size for all of us, bathroom area excellent. Sofa bed was like a bit rigid per comments from the girls. I really like the area...near a super Shopping Mall and pharmacy 24 hr open. Room was clean, daily service awesome. We purchase the breakfast buffet in advance and it was a good deal. Buffet is awesome, many things to pick (love the bread options!). A metro station was close to the hotel (5-7 min walk). Sagrada Familia is around 30 min walking. The only cons (-) for me was that there is no laundry in the hotel...I had to walk like 6 blocks to the nearest one (pretty easy and convenient)...the staff was very helpful getting the info of the safest and closest laundry.
