Before booking Ibis Plaza Glories, I emailed to confirm they could help store my breast milk, as I am breastfeeding. They said yes, so I chose this hotel. At check-in, I handed over a bag with more than 80 ounces of frozen milk from Portugal and clearly stated it had to remain frozen. During my stay, I also gave them newly pumped milk that only needed refrigeration.

Most staff were kind, but the day before leaving, one employee complained about the amount of milk. I told her not to worry, as I was leaving early the next day.

At 3 a.m., during check-out, I experienced one of the most painful moments of my breastfeeding journey. When I asked for my stored milk, they brought all the bags completely thawed. None of it had been kept as instructed, and I had to throw away almost 200 ounces collected over nearly two weeks.

It was heartbreaking to see all my effort and “liquid gold” wasted due to improper handling. I would have preferred an honest “no” from the start rather than a promise they didn’t fulfill. I am grateful my baby wasn’t put at risk, but this situation shows how serious improper storage can be.

I share this experience in hopes that it will prevent anyone else from going through the same.

Great Hotel and nice staff!

This hotel offers great value for the price. The staff was very friendly, and I arrived about four hours early before check-in. They were still able to give me my room early at no additional cost, which I really appreciated since I had a long flight. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is great, if you are taking the metro , take the yellow line and get off on Llanua station which is closer than the red line. The room didn’t have a fridge in case you need one. They sometimes have live music.

This is the one pillow per bed, furniture’s got about 10 years of age to it, space for hardly more than 1 backpack kind of Ibis. Breakfast was included for us, wish the food was warmer. Service was friendly, and it’s fairly convenient to move around the city from here - not a hotel for the Barcelona ambience though - more of a jumping off point.

The staff should be more friendly. When we asked for a map with attractions they provided an outdated map. Few days later we found out about a much better from Hop on Hop Off. Although we did not use Hop on Hop off they should let us know of the map.

Nice neighborhood near Metro stops - good value!

My wife and I were in town for Primavera Sound. This hotel was a perfect crash space for us…just a couple blocks from several different Metro stops and a very comfortable bed! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Whenever we went out into the neighborhood we felt safe and there were plenty of restaurants open late. The price of the room was right for what it was…we’d stay again!

Overall, it is not too bad. The hotel is located in safe area. The lobby smells like a Chinese takeout. Room was small. This hotel is far from everything- you’ll have to walk 30 minutes to the main sites. It isn’t always easy to grab a cab to here

This was a great place to stay in Barcelona. It is a bit far from the busy part of the city, which we enjoyed (especially at night) but it was very easy to get to a bus station or a train station to be easily transported to the other areas! We also walked on the days where we weren't in a rush and it was a very nice walk! The facilities were great in this hotel and the staff was very helpful and nice!

Had to ask for hand towels, only gave us 3 bath towels for the 3 of us. Second night I am in the shower and no shampoo or body wash left, isn't the maid/room service supposed to check for this?? My wife had to go down to the front desk to get shampoo/soap, they would NOT send anyone to our room to deliver these...unbelievable!!

Tobacco smell in the room

The hotel is modern, has nice facilities, including a gym a breakfast/bar/food service, and rooms are fair. However I had issues unfortunately, as I got to my room upon arrival it was smelling terrible like someone just smoked inside. I am a non smoker, for life! When I asked about a room change, i was told no other rooms were available, so I needed to sleep there. Had to take an anti-allergic so I could sleep, and still, my hair and clothes had a terrible smell the next day. Upon asking again next day for a change, I was finally rellocated. I was told the hotel is a non-smoking facility so I was surprised by the smell, like someone literally had just smoked in the room prior to my arrival. Anyone could have noticed that, so I am surprised I got assigned that terrible room in first place.

As expected basic but comfortable and clean. Construction around the hotel making it noisy in the morning. Very economical parking however parking lot difficult to navigate with even mid size cars. Rooms did not have comforters .Very compact rooms and bathrooms. Staff however excellent and very helpful. Breakfast limited options but good quality. Good place to stay for a short sightseeing trip

Very surprised how lovely this hotel is. The lobby is modern and the breakfast amazing all be it a little busy on the weekend. Rooms nice and clean, a little small for 3 of us with 3 cases but I worked around it. For the price we paid I was very happy.
Charlie’s corner bar in the hotel was great, we had 2 meals and it was great for adults and kids.
Up and coming area I think. Have to walk to find nice bars, restaurants and shops and the beach 15 minute walk but that’s ok.
Overall we were happy with out 3 nights stay.

The hotel is located in a very good neighborhood, quiet and safe. It is at walking distance from the beach and also many bus stops and underground stations towards the center. The staff was polite and helpful. The room was small but comfy. The only disappointment was that the pillow covers and bed sheets weren't that clean, with old stains on them. In one pillow case we found stains of blood.

I stayed for a business trip for 2 nights but I was quite surprised that my room does not have a desk which I thought was a very basic item for a hotel room! I had to sit on my bed to do my business work which was not ideal!

Close to subway but no air con after summer months

Good price if you don't mind the location, despite of that you can go anywhere as it is close to subway. Staff helpful. Good breakfast buffet price. No air con after summer months. Neither were there fridge, kettle, coffee maker. Room clean and spacious. Was put in a room on 2nd floor near elevator. Water pressure extremely poor making shower not pleasurable.
Because of no air conditioning had to open window to cool the room, got at least half a dozen of mosquito bites because of that, some bites swollen for days. For the last two reasons, will definitely not return again.

Our room was clean and quite. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was great: bread, cheese, cold meat, pan cakes, Spanish omelette for a very reasonable price. The hotel is within walking distance of the Rambla de Poublenou, which has many restaurants. I will happily return.

Overall nice hotel

Nice hotel, friendly staff however not the most picturesque surrounding area. One of the good things - it is plenty of restaurants and local cafes just two blocks away and the beach is only 15-20 min away.

Good metro communication network.
