1, the whole room had a weird small that wasn't pleasant.

The room i was in was nothing like i expected from photos, no desk or table makes it terrible for workers travelling, nowhere to put suitcases other than the floor. Have to go to Laundry to iron own cloths. Its ok if you just need a clean bed for a night. If you dont expect these things, then OK, but i do.

Check in and Check out was good by younger female staff however they should have given a copy of the signed paperwork so guests know the rules etc. However there was an elderly staff women/gatekeeper that made several accusations about not abiding by the rules which was untrue and exaggerated and coming from her it didn't sound like a family friendly place-I suggested she call the police to view video footage but she strongly declined after she wanted to do that in the first place. I will strongly encourage nobody to not to stay there & I certainly will not in the future. I felt discriminated against due to my ethnicity!!!!

I was locked out of the hotel when I arrived at 11 PM!
I called them hours before my arrival and was told I would receive check in instructions either by message or I could call on arrival. All I needed to check in was a code for the key safe. They didn’t message and didn’t answer the phone so I was stranded outside with no way of getting access to the hotel. If it weren’t for Expedia support relocating me to another hotel, I would have been SLEEPING ON THE STREET! The next morning they sent me the following: “ Morning apologies with the distruption in our phone service last night. We have credited your night stay. We apoliogise for any inconvienence this may have caused”… grammar, spelling mistakes and all.

The staff was super kind and helpful - they even let us check in early! We loved that they offered coffee packets, a microwave downstairs, laundry ($4 per load), and that it was in an ideal location (25 minute walk from the Lagoon). The showers were a bit mid, though, as water constantly leaked out from the borders. Otherwise, we loved our accommodation and would definitely stay here again!

I would like a refund

I will start by saying the manager is a lovely lady and I appreciated the early check-in, but unfortunately my 2 night stay wasn't a pleasant one. The first night the night manager was rude and I had to chase her down for a blanket. The second room looked clean enough until I had a day rest and woke up to rodents (ants) biting me in the bed. I will add some photos to show. I would like a refund I am not happy at all with this stay

Unhappy - Wrong Room

I drove 10 hours and collected my key from the safe because I arrived after closing time. My son helped me to the room with my belongings, but the touch card wouldn’t open the door despite multiple attempts. When we knocked, the door was opened by another couple who were already staying in the room I had been booked into. I was tired and upset after a long drive. This was a very stressful and unacceptable experience — I expect better organisation and a prompt resolution.

If you want peace and quiet this is NOT the place.
The locals ( indigenous) are everywhere, if not staying there then they hang around the halls, the pool, out the front. They arent quiet and constant chatter ( the halls echo ).
Also make sure your room has a bathroom majority of them don't therefore you have yo use the public ones in the hallway ( shared ).
Mine room was directly across from the mens.. which they keep the door open so seeing someone showering or using the bathroom is highly likely. The womens just down further constant use of hair dryer can hear all night.
The windows have no flyscreen. Therefore completely open. Wouldn't advise keeping open at night.
The bed was not a queen it was just 2 king singles joined, very uncomfortable.
Found 2 cockroachs in my room too.
The only good thing was the staff, helpful accomidating gave some good advice about the area.

Overall wouldn't recommend if you want quiet. If you don't mind being uncomfortable the locals and shared bathroom with no privacy.

Disappointing, lacked previous ambience

We have stayed at Queens Court several times before and enjoyed the breakfast, pool, bar and outside bbq and eating area, staff efficiency and friendliness. As I was traveling to Cairns solo I thought it would be a reasonably priced option with nice ambience and smiling faces. I was disappointed… no free breakfast, no bar or outside gatherings, and the staff, though still efficient, not so happy and smiling. New ownership has meant higher prices and impacted on many small aspects and I will not be rushing back. I only stayed 3 nights then went to Port Douglas for 8 nights where I could get a great Studio apartment with a balcony looking over one of 2 pools and a kitchenette for a similar price! I won’t be hurrying back there or recommending it as I often have in the past. Disappointing.

Arrival: We arrived around Noon and were advised that Check In was 2.00. However if we wanted an early check in the cost was an extra $60!!!

The gentleman at Reception must have had a bad day as his attitude was not one that you would expect at a hotel arrival. Not rude but not at all welcoming.

We left our bags and came back around 3.30 to check in. The next gentleman was much more receptive.

The standard room on the 1st floor was one of the smallest I have encountered. $175 for one night!!!

Would we return? I doubt it.

On check in the staff member was helpful however prior to arrival I received a text saying

“We are excited to welcome you to K2 Cairns Queens Court! As part of your arrival process, please complete your pre-check-in at the following link:

The pre-check-in is a MANDATORY step prior to your arrival

Not an easy process when you are driving the Bruce Hwy at 100kph so I got the passenger to read it out and do it for me, but No they require a signature, so forget that!

Eventually we go to the motel only to be told it’s not mandatory. To the management thanks for the extra stress.

On check out the staff members I dealt with were excellent.

Do I see myself going back, Probably not!

This is my second time staying here, and I’d gladly stay here again. The place is nice for the price, has good amenities, and is within easy walking distance of the seashore, restaurants, and shops.

There was an unknown issue that caused my key to be deactivated, and when I returned to the hotel at around 10 PM I found myself locked out. The emergency phone outside of hotel reception allowed me to contact someone after hours, and I was able to get into my room within about ten minutes. While I dislike the keycard error, the staff handled it promptly and courteously. Issues can happen, and I really appreciate it when the staff are able to promptly and graciously address any problems.

Had an issue when leaving the hotel, when I returned to my room after putting my suitcase in my car I could not get the door to open. Made contact with the night manage who knew that door could be fiddley and your just have to wiggle it. Turned out to get the door to open I had to turn the handle upward. Not a good feeling when you have to catch a flight and the last of your belongings are still inside your hotel room.

Positives: The room is a good size and the balcony was great. Friendly staff. Close to the airport and only a 20 minute walk to town and the train station.

Negatives: It's loud if your room is near the road (cars and trucks). We weren't allowed to check out even 15 minutes later so our laundry could finish, and we had to finish packing in the pool area outside. There should be some flexibility, especially since there are limited hours for the laundry room. Staff at the reception is only available until 8:00 p.m. which is very odd for a hotel and there is a fee to pay if you call after hours. The power on our floor went out in the evening, and we were just told someone would come and fix it soon, but it was several hours without power, which was very inconvenient. The bathroom fan was full of dust and could use a cleaning.

Отель соответствовал нашему запросу. Очень вежливый и отзывчивый персонал. В первый день проживания мы решили на ресепшн все вопросы с экскурсиями. Каждый день новые полотенца и влажная уборка. Есть проблемы со звукоизоляцией, слышно было движение в номере выше нас. Завтрак нас не устроил, но поблизости есть кафе, где можно решить этот вопрос. Отель не для провождения времени в нем, а для сна.

Just not what was advertised. I booked a budget room thinking that the pictures on the website were of the budget rooms but I was very wrong. The pictures are of a separate part of the accomodation. The budget accomodation has separate bathrooms to the room that are shared with the entire floor. The shampoo and conditioner provided in a massive pump bottle was broken in both showers, the bathrooms were so old and had clearly had several parts replaced over the years that had never been painted over. Staying there was doable but not what was advertised at all.

Stayed 2 nights. We are from out of town so had family visit us in the public pool area DURING THE DAY and got complaints from staff about my two children aged 7 and 15 making \" too much noise \" because they were laughing as children do when they are having fun. Myself and family were not allowed to laugh or talk loudly as there were \"complaints\" older woman Receptionist with glasses advised us in the afternoon hours of 12-4pm. Rooms where very TINY in the budget style. Barely having room to move let alone get ready or much else. One positive was the common area in the middle of motel it very nice , ice machine with free ice, plenty tables n chairs , vending machine , free tea and coffee, kitchen facilities like a microwave ect. We relaxed in this area majority of the time we were there. We wont be staying again if other options available ,but it was okay for a last minute situation. Overall 2.5/5.

The beds and sheets were nice and clean, the bathroom was good enough for a motel. AC, TV and mini fridge were a real bonus, all worked great and there were plenty of power outlets which was very useful. For the price and location I’d be happy to stay again.

It was a good stay to begin with...but as i returned from going out around 10pm ..the lights and air-conditioning was not working...I called staff and the night manager came around and said He was going to charge me $100 for a call out fee...
I told him that the air-conditioning and lights were not working He said he couldn't help us...so we were hot and sweating all night..
When i checked out, i asked if i could have a discount as i didn't have air-conditioning all night the staff at the front desk said she couldn't give me a discount and just said she was sorry...this is a disgrace...not happy

I was also satisfied with the easy access to breakfast .
