Room was clean, only complaint is when requesting fresh milk when checking in they said they would charge me £6 to bring that, after a long drive from London I just anted a cup of tea!
Had to get my shoes on again go down to an empty reception and bar area with staff just hanging around which felt a bit lazy and odd.

Everything was very nice and clean. Our room smelled wonderful, like fabric softener. We would especially like to thank the cleaning staff. My humble suggestions would be not to use a shower curtain and to provide a toilet brush.
The location was also very good — the hotel was very close to the exam center, and there were cafés and markets nearby where you could find breakfast and coffee early in the morning.

The staff at the Leonardo hotel were frequently inconsistent and unhelpful. Doubtful about their professionalism and different staff repeating themselves. They were unable to connect a call to my guest over the room phone and relayed inaccurate information across. One staff cited faulty communication equipment thus necessitating an unnecessary journey in a storm.

Town was walking distance, so we went out for dinner and very pleased we did, as on our return we had drinks at the bar and food was coming out looking very average not special. I thought the drinks were on the expensive side as a double gin £12 with a SPLASH of lemonade £2.65. I expect to pay a little more but a splash at 2.65 I thought was strong .

The bed was comfortable but the pillows, one wasn’t enough and two was to high.
It said check out online, which when I tried it said bill not ready, we didn’t have a bill as everything we paid at the time.
The weather was little wet, I asked to borrow a hotel umbrella but was given a umbrella that a guest had left behind which wasn’t in the best condition.
Car parking is just over the road £13 for 24 hours but with hotel you get it for £10.
Hand wash, shower gel and shampoo are in the room but no body lotion which was a shame .

Sound proofing was really bad - the room was by swinging doors and people coming in and out the whole night keeping us up. Maybe if you weren't staying at the weekend it would be OK.
The rest of the hotel was nice - nice foyer, good breakfast, just shame about the sleep.

Upon arrival I was met by a very friendly front desk person, who was knowledgeable about the area and allowed for early check in.
The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to some great shopping, restaurants and the lovely cathedral. There is also a very convenient city car park right behind the hotel.
All and all it was a good place to stay for the night. The rooms are in a need of an update, and there was a stain on the carpet and also on the duvet. My room was also quite loud due to traffic noice, however for a night it was not a huge deal.
I would probably stay there again because staff were lovely and the location was great.

Good sized rooms, very good breakfast spread including hot food, decent location - 15/20 mins walk to quite a few places. The amenities are less and the layout/built could have been better to allow one to have place to place toiletries etc

I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience for the sake of other families considering this hotel. Upon checking into our room, I was shocked and deeply distressed to discover sex toys left behind by a previous guest. The most upsetting part was that my 10-year-old son mistook one of them for a toy. As a parent, this was not only embarrassing but completely unacceptable.

The incident speaks volumes about the cleaning standards at this property. Basic hygiene and room inspection should never be compromised—especially in a hotel that’s recommended as a VIP access property. This experience ruined what was meant to be a relaxing family trip and left us feeling uncomfortable and unsafe.

I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves their housekeeping protocols. Until then, I would not recommend this hotel to families or anyone expecting a clean and respectful environment.

Perfect Cornwall stop off

This was a perfect stop off on the way to Cornwall, staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The site is opposite a car park £10 for 24hrs and the hotel is clean tidy and well presented.

Breakfast was as good if not better than many of the top hotels.
The lighting in the room (121) was too dim.
The bathroom did not have enough flat surfaces to hold all the toiletries.
Staff were excellent and very attentive.
I would use the hotel again and would recommend it highly.

Business Trip - 3 Days

When arriving at the hotel, I pulled up into the car park behind it. I started to feel concerned as to whether I had booked the correct place and I didn’t like the look of it.

However when I got around to the front I was met with a wave of relief as it looked great, it was also in a very convenient location if you’re looking to go into the town. (10-15 minute walk approximately).

Parking charges apply on the car park in front of the hotel and also at the back. (Approximately £10-£13 for 24 hours).

Walking into the hotel it was visually pleasing, and so were the girls at reception and the bar.

Free drinks were also offered on check in (membership).

There were sweets, lemon water and mulled apple juice to help yourself to which was a nice touch. Snacks & drinks also available to buy.

Check-in was quick and easy and everywhere was clean.

Rooms - the shower was powerful and of good quality. The bathrooms were very clean and up to my standards, (which are high). (No blocked plug holes or dirt which is common). Also good lighting in the bathroom and the room itself.

The air-conditioning and heating worked as it should.

The rooms were sufficiently clean and supplied with all items required for a trip.

The beds were comfortable and clean with a choice of different pillows.

There were USB port plug sockets also which is very handy for business trips and doesn’t go unnoticed.

Breakfast & dinner was good with a wide selection, the steak being a good choice.

Staff were nice and friendly, the room was a set up to high standard . There was also a hairdryer which was good because it rained the night before, so could dry clothes. Lift good ! Has lots of space around the hotel. Loads of rooms , the room was really good ! I would definitely stay again ! Thank you to the staff and everyone that make this hotel fantastic! Will come again sometime in the distant future !
