Clean room, clean hotel. Staff pleasant, breakfast paid for before arrived and was really nice. Spa discount as guest , the steam room was great but I’d have been dissapointed if I had paid full price for this as difficult to use jacuzzi as only one working and small/occupied by others for most of two hours. However,Hôtel I situated in the centre of Exeter and sound proofing to outside really good. Definitely stay here again.

The staff were friendly, but the room was in need of a refresh, there were chips, scuffs, and black marks all over the room, there was black mould in the corner of the shower, the door stops were handing off the walls, it generally just look scruffy. There was a hole in the divan base and the pillows were flat as pancakes. The TV wasn't connected to a satalite or the internet so you couldn't use it.The breakfast was underwhelming, the continental was barely stocked, a constant queue for coffee and the hot breakfast was very basic, certainly not worth £20 when you could go to wetherspoons and get the same for half the price. Our room would normally have been £250 but we used vouchers, if I had paid full price I would have been asking for money back.

Room was clean and nicely furnished. However some smashed glass fragments on balcony floor. Check in desk was slow, we attempted twice but the que was too long, there needs to be more staff and a bigger check in desk. Breakfast was slow but nice, again seems to be a lack of managers/front of house in charge.

We recently stayed at this hotel to celebrate a birthday. The staff were genuinely helpful and accommodating, especially in allowing our friends to check into our room early so they could decorate it for a birthday surprise, which we really appreciated.

Unfortunately, the cleanliness and condition of the room let the stay down. The shower grout was mouldy, there was hair on the bathroom floor and in the sink, and we even found a dirty tissue left in the bedside table. The drinking glasses had visible water marks on them, and the large wall mirror was extremely smeary and dirty — to the point where I had to buff it with a dry towel just so I could see properly to do my makeup.

We also had a confusing experience with room service. I rang to order a glass of orange juice (and my sister-in-law also clearly heard me order orange juice), but a waitress arrived at the door with whole oranges instead. She returned about 10 minutes later with a glass of orange juice, but the mix-up was strange.

In addition, one of the bedside lamps flickered on and off whenever it was turned on.

While the staff were friendly and helpful, the cleanliness and maintenance issues really impacted our overall experience. With better attention to detail, this could of been a much more enjoyable stay.

Paid extra for a nice room. Room was 803, it smelt really strongbof damp. One of the legs of the bedside table was broken and had been glued on wonky with the glue dripping down it and dried. The room was also.really noisy with street noise. Very disappointed for a noce horel.

Overall, an excellent hotel. The changes at the restaurant (it used to be Colson’s , now Dotties) are a little disappointing, mostly because of cheaper decor of plastic flowers and animal print cushions clashing with the otherwise elegant hotel furnishings. Have stayed at the Indigo several times.

We were very disappointed with our stay. We received a call the day we were due to arrive to say they didn’t have enough beds in our room for one of our children even though we booked in February. When we arrived they had managed to find an extra bed that they made up only to find it had no springs in it so was not usable. An employee offered us a free breakfast but this was also very disappointing. When we sat down we waited 20 minutes for someone to take a drinks order and then waited 40 minutes for two breakfasts. One of the breakfasts was very disappointing as it came with no salmon as stated and looked like it should have only taken a couple of minutes to cook. Also was woken at midnight by staff on the first night by staff emptying glass bottles right outside the window which went on for quite a while. Such a shame as our previous visits to the hotel were very good. We will probably stay elsewhere next time.

Disappointed that we were not informed at check in that the boiler was broken and there was no hot water! It was only the next morning when we called reception to say we were unable to shower that we found out! Poorly managed and felt we should have been told. Realise now why we were served red wine in a champagne glass in the rooftop bar as they didn't have water to wash up!
The automatic door in the main bar was also broken so was cold in there too!
All of this was fixed on second day but should have been informed so it was our choice whether or not to stay!

When we arrived at the property all seemed well. We we're greeted by a friendly member of staff and even allowed to check in a little earlier. The room looked reasonably nice at first glance.
The problems came overnight and the next morning, the room was very cold and there was no hot water for a shower.
I reported this in the morning only to be told the boiler was broken and they haven't been able to fix it. That's fair enough (these things happen) but apparently this was known on our check in. I wanted to know why we weren't informed at any point until check out?. If we had been given the chance we would have asked for a refund and found alternative accommodation with heating and hot water.
We recieved a 25% discount (and a cold shower)

Wanted to firstly say thank you for your reply, much appreciated.

We are leaving today and have had a lovely stay.

Over the years we have stayed in a lot of hotels and were excited to stay here mainly due to location and the room itself so I do feel like I should give you some feedback on the room.
My partner does suffer from some allergies and has sneezed the whole time consistently, we couldn’t work out what it was but having dropped the remote on the floor it fell under the bed. I have attached a picture it is full, really full of dust!
I’m not complaining I’m letting you know as it’s not nice.

Also for future the room is 604, I couldn’t get the side lights on the mirror to work or connect to the tv to cast. We bought milk as I was surprised to see you only have the carton milk. All the little touches that other hotels get right.

Thanks for listening and for your kind words. Again I’m not complaining just giving you some thoughts.

Found it odd that having booked this hotel about 2 weeks earlier I was asked on arrival whether I had \"paid\" because it \"looked like\" the hotel had not had any money from Expedia. After a minute or two the person on reception said that he could in fact see payment had been made and we were given our room key.

The hotel exceeds expectations. It is bright, modern, different in a good way. The staff are excellent - friendly, courteous, helpful, polite. The rooms were beautifully furnished and decorated. The bathroom spotless and well provided with toiletries. The in-room drinks were plentiful and varied. The breakfast was fresh, delicious and cooked to order in front of you. Will definitely return.

The hotel was lovely however it was way too hot and the air con was not effective in reducing the temperature.
We also found the spa to be underwhelming. We were told there was only one hot tub working which was fine but the other one only had half the jets working and was quite grubby. There was also a damp smell not the usual lovely aroma you would expect in a spa.

I stayed here 2 weeks ago and have been trying to find someone go help me ever since. I left a gold bracelet in my room. Let them know immediately and since the. I have called, emailed, messaged on Instagram, filed a complaint and nothing.
Unbelievably horrible way to treat a fellow human. Let alone a guest. Hope you’re enjoying wearing my jewellery whoever you are 😣

Our room was spacious and gorgeous. The bed was really comfortable and big! We were in a Premium King Room. The bathroom was large but it did also smell quite badly of damp. The only negative was the car parking. None available on site and not able to drive up to hotel so we had to bring all our luggage from a neighbouring public car park. Unfortunately the lift wasn't working at the car park so we had to carry 3 suitcases up 2 flights of stairs. Parking was 18 British pounds per day, pay and display, and we had to keep going back each day to pay for another 24 hours. Overall though, a fabulous hotel in a great location.

Disappointing stay

We were disappointed with our stay. There didn’t appear to be enough staff to manage the number of guests. We waited over 25 minutes to check in, with only one person on reception. After going to our room, we encountered an issue and had to return to reception, only to find no one at the desk. I asked for assistance at the bar and waited another 10 minutes before someone arrived.

Breakfast was also a letdown due to the same staffing issues. We were seated at a table in a high-traffic walkway and asked to move to one of the empty tables further inside the restaurant. Unfortunately, we were told this wasn’t possible as they were seating the walkway first. The food itself was average—nothing special.

While the hotel’s decor is quite nice, the overall experience didn’t meet expectations. I would rate the hotel 3 stars

It was our first time using the IHG chain, we stayed for three nights,first night was in a premium room,which was very nice and comfy, although a little dusty in areas!
The second night was spent in a corner suite which was a fabulous room until it came to sleep,the noise from the air conditioning was deafening and we were unable to sleep because of it ,it wouldn't turn off and I had to go to reception and complain.
Reception couldn't do enough for us ,but it meant that we had to move to a small room with a balcony despite paying for a suite, we were never offered a refund of any kind which surprised us !
Breakfast was an absolute disaster we tried three mornings to actually get breakfast but left without eating on two occasions along with two other couples,the staffing levels were non existent!
Overall we liked the hotel very much ,but would not stay there again because of the disastrous restaurant and the debacle with the rooms!
The reception staff tried their best but can only do so much!
Staff need training and more staff would help

Very lovely stay in Exeter for 2 nights at the start of our Devon/Cornwall trip. Friendly staff! Great spa with a deal for hotel guests. The breakfast was wonderful, too. Right in the middle of everything. We will stay here again without even looking elsewhere if we come back this way. We loved Exeter!

£30 for a dog to stay for 1 night is so expensive. For that price I was expecting some treats in the room, dog bowl etc like in other hotels, but nothing.

The hotel is beautiful. We couldn’t fault the room. The lobby is also lovely. The only issue we had was the spa. We found it quite unclean and the hot tubs quite grimy. We mentioned to staff who were lovely but the condition was the same the next day. The hot tubs were also starting to get in poor condition.

The overall services (restaurant, breakfast) were disappointing in comparison to the last time we stayed. “Sorry, it’s grad week” was the refrain, but why not staff up in anticipation? Our room should have had twin beds, which it didn’t. Then there was little effort to help separate the mattresses, and while everyone was polite, the services were inconsistent and the food sub par for both directions one and breakfast.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Indigo, it was the perfect setting for a relaxing couples’ getaway. The boutique feel, stylish decor, and cozy atmosphere made it feel both luxurious and intimate. Our room was spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable, with thoughtful touches that really added to the experience. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. The location was ideal for exploring, but also offered a peaceful retreat when we wanted to unwind.
