Nice hotel in general although the shower this time was tiny, felt like I was in a cupboard. Poor WiFi and disappointed that the bar closed at 10pm, I appreciate it dues not belong to the hotel but you think they would have an agreement as 99% of hotel clients use it. The breakfast was awful. We had to book time slot. However when we arrived the eggs weren’t ready. I informed them in advance I was vegetarian when arrived for breakfast they asked if I anted vegetarian sausage. I waited 15 minutes and hen I asked if it was ready waitress said she forgot to order it. Coffee was horrible although they had a coffee machine they just had jug of coffee on side. Hotel room was 5* however breakfast was 1*. Really disappointing

We only stayed here for one Night while in the area, lovely gardens,rooms are very nicely decorated with a modern bathroom, we had a few cobwebs but generally very clean, breakfast included which was very nice and enough for me if you are the sort of person that likes a huge full English you may be disappointed 1 sausage and 2 bacon but it was enough for us, Beds very comfortable had a lovely nights sleep.

Bath robes, magazines and umbrella these extra made it feel like a personal touch, the coffee and tea making facilities in the room very good. Herbal tea bags would have been nice but that’s just a personal preference. We will definitely be booking to stay again.

Fantastic place to stay. The accommodation is made up of serval buildings each divided into separate accommodation areas. The bedroom was large and extremely well appointed. The bathroom was huge and offered a double stone bath and a massive walk-in shower. Everything has been thought out to the finest detail.
Where this hotel may not suit everyone is that it doesn't have a formal restaurant. However the cafe/coffee shop offers very nice home cooked food from breakfast, lunch and dinner and has extremely friendly and attentive staff.

My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay at Channels. The staff were wonderfully helpful, especially Tom and James on reception, in that there was no problem arriving early, as they took care of our luggage and we parked one of our cars there, whilst we went into Chelmsford.

Sunday morning breakfast was a buffet and the cooked food amazing.

Room had a large beam across the ceiling with potential for hitting your head. Doorway to bathroom also very low again with potential to hit your head. Room door was immediately adjacent to outside door so you could hear all the noise anyone coming into that area were making.

Property looked amazing until taking a closer look especially the bathroom, the bath had not been cleaned properly and had hairs in it and there was mould on the ceiling. Could do with a heated mirror or better extraction as the mirror took ages to clear after showering.

Always consistently good here and the only place I stay when away on business. Was staying in olive apartment this time and was lovely stay. Only downside was the people staying in the same block had a dog which they left in their room while they went to the bar so was barking and scratching at the doors all night until they come back at 10.45pm Not ideal but also not the hotels fault. Rooms very clean and spacious can’t wait to stay again

Love this place and its the only place i stay when im travelling now. Always 5 star service and rooms are immaculate as well as comfortable. Need to find out where the hand cream is from as well keep meaning to ask! Keep meaning to use the restaurant so next time ill book.

No Food available after 6hour drive
We've stayed at this hotel before, however this time there was no food available, food service stopped at 4-5pm. Also bar closed at 8PM we arrived at 7:30. The hotel is not near any other restaurant or pub so it was another drive after our 6hour journey to get to the hotel to find something to eat. If we had know this we would not have booked this hotel.

This hotel is a hidden gem, not a hotel as such - main house converted into rooms and chalets around the ground as accommodation no corridors no annoying guest above you - Having stayed a few times I have found that all the rooms are very modern clean and fresh with great pillows and beds assuring a perfect sleep. Defo my go to place when working around Chelmsford.

All of the rooms have very tasteful decor. The bathroom was huge with Bath and a very large shower. The staff are amazing at the hotel and brassiere and nothing is to much trouble and there is always a happy smile from everyone.

Disapointing. Turned up after a long drive and business meeting to find a hotel unddergoing major repairs, renovation and extention. This was not poined out anywhre online prior to booking. If it was i was not obvious. Otherwise i would not have booked.
Reception was a temporary cabin in the car park. Greeted and told they can only offer continental breakfast. Which in fact was prepacked low budget plastic wraped pasteries, bars and \"add hot water\" porridge. Not exactly appertising options at all, and not what i would have expected for the price i paid for the room. I was showed to the room via the building works and through key coded entrances. Before being given a room key with a lump of wood the size of a house brick attached!. Totally impractical. Immedialy went out to grab a bite to eat before heading back to have a shower. Shower was extremely temperamental and took ages to get the heat right. Also the shower tray was wierldy sloped, as i sliped several times just standing. This was not a peaceful hotel which I had hoped for after a long day of buisness meetings, so simply got out of the shower and left. No one in reception to complain to! Not great!!!!! Some what annoyed that i actaully felt it was better to drive 3 hours back home rather than stay the night.
