In the room itself the shower was particularly impressive with immediate hot water and lots of space. However we only had bath towels rather than sheets which were not very absorbent. The beds also were not that comfortable and you can hear the springs popping when you lay on them. The tea/coffee tray also could have been more substantive.
The biggest problem we had however was the radiator which could not be controlled from the room. On the first night it was on full blast on arrival when it had been 24C during the day and we had to ring down to get them to see to it which to their credit they sorted straight away. However on the second night we had the same problem, so this time we just opened all the windows!
All in all a reasonable stay at a reasonable price.

Room was spacious, but lacking a couple of items to make the stay easier. Full length mirror would have been ideal, a dresser table with vanity mirror.
The towels were somewhat thread bare and as for bath towels, on the small side, but the shower was good, plenty of power.
Had to clean out the ceiling extractor fan as it was clogged up with built up dust (it won't work efficiently if blocked up!)
A little attention to detail would not go a miss.

I stayed for a weekend, while attending the Eden Sessions. The location is very convenient, since I don't drive and commuted by public transport. The staff were very accommodating with accepting my late check-in, serving hot breakfast immediately, including offerred further assistance if needed.

Amazing place to stay, great location, wonderful places to visit and hosts were amazing and incredibly helpful. One thing to note they only have one dog friendly room, so make sure you book that one; we did by accident, which was great (Charlestown room - by the way). Eden project is only 12 mins drive away. Charlestown great for food, try The Boathouse...... Loads of dog friendly beaches and restaurants.

Really nice place to stay, friendly service and would happily stay again, the St Ives room was a fantastic size and the terrace entrance/exit provides flexibility to come and go as you like without causing disturbance, breakfast was delicious and we found the pre-order arrangement for breakfast most useful.
The bed was a bit uncomfortable for my own taste in terms of the mattress on it but each to their own.

Gwyndra House in a stones throw from St Austell Train Station (I could see it from my room) which was super convenient. The interaction with Adelaide prior to and upon arrival was excellent, very kind welcome and was on hand should I need anything. Room was clean and dressed with shockingly high quality furnishings, my bed and arm chair were a delight! Although I didn't have breakfast, the ordering system was very easy to complete and made perfect sense. Lovely outside terrace which I certainly would have used had the weather been better. All in all I was absolutely recommend Gwyndra House to anyone and should I need to visit St Austell again they'll be my first choice for accommodation. Thank you Adelaide for a lovely stay :)

The room was very well laid out, clean and well looked after, Breakfast was great every day. Adelaide was very helpful and friendly. Didn't see much of Steve (busy behind the scene's no doubt) Only two very small criticisms: tea and coffee not topped up after first day, had to ask later in week after going without and one day the breakfast cutlery was forgotten, i had to get it myself from the cupboard. Only mentioning it so owners can be aware. this did not detract from a very good stay. I would recommend Gwyndra house to anyone. They even got me a congratulations card as i bought a property while i was there, which was really nice of them.

Perfect hosts, comfortable stay
We stayed at gwyndra for two nights Friday-Sunday. The owners were incredibly friendly and informative. Both were as helpful and as lovely as possible, hot breakfast was available and it was perfect. My only criticism would be to have a radio on in the breakfast room, it was very quiet and we were a little conscious about making other guest feel uncomfortable whilst eating. The room was a good size with an amazing shower, very comfortable. We will be staying again in the future, we look forward to seeing you again soon x

Perfectly situated to get to the Eden Project by either car or bus and also the Lost Gardens of Heligan are an easy drive . Good restaurants nearby in Charlestown , which is only a mile or so away and we also liked the White Hart in St. Austell itself .

What's not to like here, comfy bed, very clean, Jackie and Jim are the pefect hosts (Jackie also makes the best bacon sandwiches), good wifi, no problems parking. Room perfectly situated so you can watch the sunset from bed.
