I recently stayed at this hotel and used the spa facilities over two days, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing.
Accessibility was a major issue. The lift does not reach all room levels, which meant carrying my suitcase up around 30 stairs despite having joint issues. I had called in advance regarding my disability, so this was particularly frustrating, although the receptionist was helpful and offered to move our room. Clearer accessibility information before booking would have helped.
The spa itself was not the relaxing experience we expected. There were a large number of children in the spa area (9am – 7pm), including in the main facilities. While I understand hotels welcome families, especially in half term, many guests book spa experiences specifically for peace and relaxation. The noise levels and general atmosphere felt more like a leisure centre than a spa.
Additionally, what was advertised as a “Bubble Pool”, was not a hot tub, which was misleading particularly disappointing as it is often one of the main features people look forward to when booking a spa, especially when needed for or hydrotherapy purposes.
Overall, the experience did not reflect the relaxing spa break that was advertised.

Spa and gym are Brilliant for a hotel, i know I can get a good swim or workout in when Im staying there.

The room was very dated and freezing especially the bathroom .also.there was maintance going on so.the path from.the car park.was closed and you had to walk.an age to.get to.the reception as was onky.parking.for.disabled at.front of reception . Wr asked reception to.book.us a taxi.for.later in the evening as had a table boomed for a meal.at a restraunt ad the food in hotel.was not.great previous night and when we came.down we was waiting for the taxi.arrive only.for the reception lady to say oh i forgot to book the.taxi sorry and we ended up being.late to.our table . Would.not.stay here again

This was my second time here an it wasn’t as good as the first time but we did stay and are in the lodges the last time. Although the food looked good my pasta was chewy/tough and not cooked and my partners curry didn’t look great and the rice was burned.

The pool is ok. Not as warm as I would have liked after visiting many spas. The “bubble pool” sadly felt like a cold broken jacuzzi. Really not on par with many spas in Cornwall.

The staff were lovely though as was our room. I wouldn’t come back paying full price. Possibly in an offer.

The hotel is beautiful. We stayed in a deluxe room which was modern and comfortable. Loved the bath behind the bed and shower. We used the great spa facilities and the evening meal was very good. Breakfast don’t quite meet the standard and think it was down to being very busy. We would definitely stay here again

Everything was excellent! All of the staff were extremely helpful, pleasant and attentive. We used the bar, restaurant, reception, and spa. We stayed in two rooms both were very nice rooms and very clean and comfortable. The bar was very cosy with a fabulous log fire and the service was excellent. The food was very good in the bar and the restaurant. The pool and facilities were very clean and warm. All in all a wonderful stay. Will definitely recommend and return.

We arrived at 4.15pm to find our room wasn’t ready so they changed it to a room that was made up. At 7.00am when we wanted to go to the swimming pool we realised we only had 1 robe and no slippers. Then when I went for a shower we found we only had 1 bath towel and I hand towel. Also it would have been nice to have been told that going to the spa involved a walk outside. The shower gel in our room was empty.

Beautiful and spacious room, decor on point and really lovely. The rest of the hotel is in need of a bit of updating, with some wallpaper missing from the wall, scuffs here and there etc.

The spa has the potential to be really nice. The pool is great but the sauna was out of service (I understand from another guest that this had been the case for at least a couple of weeks) and the steam room had no steam! The jacuzzi was borderline cool… can’t comment on the spa treatments as I didn’t have any.

The restaurant was great - had dinner one night which was superb. The breakfast was slightly limited but very tasty.

Wife went to use bath towel for first time and found it stained and ripped.
The following were out of order: sauna, costume dryer, lift in spa area. Steam room was not working properly.
Bed lights in the room flickered on and off.
Balcony chairs were damaged.
Stains in room carpet - looked like it had never been steam cleaned.
No lift to floor where room was situated.
There is no lighting on road entrance to hotel.

The hotel was in a quiet location and the sun came on to the balcony In the morning and into the room through the large glazed patio doors.

The room was clean, spacious and contained a rollaway bed as well as a comfortable large queen sized bed.

The bathroom was a good size with modern fittings and a shower over the bath with toiletries provided.

Staff in all departments were very friendly and helpful.

Food in the restaurant was cooked to order, very well presented and delicious. The menu catered for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free diets, although was somewhat limited on choice for a longer stay.

Wonderful…smiles from all the staff when they see you and everyone is happy to help in any way.
The night Porter was very helpful and friendly, the reception team couldn’t do enough and the breakfast staff went the extra mile!
We forgot our robes from the room but the spa team were kind and gave us spares.
The spa isn’t quite as opulent as the photos, but the service more than makes up for it,
Comfy beds, great shower, delicious breakfast all in a beautiful setting.
Highly recommend for a stay in Cornwall, with easy access the south coast. Will be recommending to friends and family

Lovely setting, ideal base to explore Cornwall. Super breakfast and dinner menu offered a good selection with a different catch of the day each day. Charging an additional £3.50 for a latte at breakfast time was however a little much. Room was of a good size and had a terrific view of the countryside noting that the wooden balcony was in need of some TLC! Overall and enjoyable stay.

There was a big stain on the carpet & no plugs near the bed but it was a lovely large room & balcony which would have been great if the weather was dry. I read that the grounds were closed but guessing they will be beautiful when it’s not raining. Arrived too late to use the spa & decided not to stay in the morning as had a busy itinerary- feel I should have taken a look at the pool tho - maybe next time!

The staff at the hotel were excellent and keen to help, although the young staff in the restaurant lacked guidance on occasions so that service was a bit disjointed at times. Food cooked in the kitchen was excellent and reasonably good value. The buffet breakfast was poor and surely staff could bring tea and coffee to the table? Having to trek back and forth for a cup of tea at a time was a challenge for many older guests. The hotel seems to be suffering from wanting to expand rapidly whilst not addressing some areas of cleanliness and outdated rooms. Our room was bizarre, with a bathroom in the room which was irritating at best and a loudly dripping shower kept us awake some nights. The walls were scratched and marked and generally tired, although it was all pretty clean. The restaurant loved a mirror but these are obviously not regularly cleaned and so were smeared and there were many cobwebs and dust on the many strange light fittings in all the communal areas. The office, which opens off the entrance foyer, was filthy so perhaps keep the door shut or even give it a clean? This is a pleasant hotel but please don't let greed expand it until it just becomes a holiday park.

Damage and broken furniture in the lodge. Most light bulbs need replacing. Reported multiple problems about the lodge to the receptionist, told to email. These should have been put right during maintenance inspections. Cobwebs in all the rooms and very dusty. All outside lighting is very poor and switched off after 11 pm.

Such an amazing place to stay. We chose a woodland lodge and it was amazing. It had everything you needed from fridge freezer dishwasher and washing machine with drying facilities for those that like the amenities and options of self catering but on top of that, the whole site has access to the main hotel which offers food and room service no matter what accommodation you choose. At the main hotel there are options for dining and drinking out, outdoor games, light musical entertainment on some days or you can enjoy walking the extensive grounds. The lodge also has towels and bedding, which was regularly refreshed and cleaned by staff. The also have a fantastic spar with various treatments, an access for all infinity pool, towels provided, tennis courts and a gym.
The site gardens were beautiful and well maintained by ground men which made the site a beauty peaceful place for an excellent break. I would definitely recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was in a great location, food was good, public areas good it was really the bedrooms and balcony’s and the absence of a lift further than the 1st floor that let it down. Rooms are looking tired but clean.
Two hour wait for evening dinner on each night. Sorry but I don’t want to eat at 8.30pm.
Drinks from the bar, first night £14.50 second evening £16.50 for the same drink!
Unable to put food or drinks on room anymore, so had to return to my room to collect means of payment.
Front desk, no staff member on duty waited over 15 minutes for someone to appear so I could check in. I checked out a day early.
Lots of changes and not enough staff.
Spa was lovely as were the staff.
Very short staffed.

It’s a lovely place set in a park area with views from room balcony. Restaurant had good menu & food but unfortunately had run out of Chardonnay. Very nice staff. The biggest drawback for me was the bathroom set up with extremely small sink with no space to set anything and the high sided tub/shower was very difficult to get in and out with no handle bars to assist (& it was very slick when wet.)
