The breakfast buffet was really nice. The folks at the front desk don’t seem very friendly. My room got unbearably hot towards the end of my two week stay. The small fan provided didn’t provide enough relief from the heat in my room, in spite of trying to sleep with both windows open. I left the hotel 2 days early and rented an apartment with AC in the area so I could sleep and get my work done for my last few days.

The best area in Prague (not touristic and more local). Extended my stay and it was very easy! The door to separate the bathroom from the room is also very helpful to block hallway noise! Delicious and free breakfast! Very much appreciated the luggage storage as well

Very well placed and lovely hotel. Clean, with nice and attentive staff.

My only issue is that the internet connection in my attic room was extremely volatile and mostly non-existent. I personally managed, but I can imagine that for many people this could be a deal-breaker.
I suppose this is an issue only on the top floor and the rest of the hotel is probably fine.

Other than that a great hotel.

Given a room key to a room someone else was already in, moving us to a crappy room across the parking lot. With a view of dumpsters and staff parking. Making it very uncomfortable to leave the window open for air on the hot days and nights. The refrigerator in the room did not get cold(overheated from being in a cabinet with no way to release the heat from the fan). The staff was pleasant but still disappointed in the error of giving us a key to a nice room then moving us to a less then desirable room.

A few issues were present though: no chest of drawers in the room, so “living out of the suitcase”.

Great stay! For those with mobility limitations, be warned that the 5th and 6th floors are walk-up only. I was put in the attic (6th floor), which I was a bit worried about at first, but I ended up feeling up to the stairs (I have a disability) and enjoyed the solitude and safety of having an entire floor to myself. The bathroom had a funky smell but the whole place was otherwise clean and lovely.

The hotel is was extremely reasonable compared to others. It is a bit dated but very clean and the room albeit on the small side, it had everything we needed. Fridge, kettle, hairdryer, safe and a large comfy bed. The breakfast is very good. The location is good as while not in the old town, it is right near the metro dri easy access everywhere. Very friendly staff and 24 hour reception. Can store luggage also.

My room was small but enough for my purposes. Easy to use, very quiet, with lots of hot water. Breakfast buffet (included with room price) was better than some I have tried. Staff were highly multilingual and friendly. They are at the desk 24/7, so you can leave your door key at the desk when you go out on the town.

Very good hotel in good location

Hotel is in a good location, close enough to walk to Wenceslas square but also has a metro and tram stop close by. Rooms were good size and bathroom had a large walk in shower that was quite powerful. Quiet room so easy to sleep. Beds were comfortable but the only down side were the pillows for me. Staff were very efficient. Breakfast is very nice buffet style and staff were very quick to clean up and keep the buffet very well stocked.

The front desk staff was very considerate and helpful to contact the lost and found department in Prague because I left my backpack on a bus. The workers called a few different times and spoke with the dept. No backpack found, but at least I knew. .

Nice clean, good sized room and bathroom. Has basic amenities of TV, fridge, hairdryer and safe (think chargeable to use). Bed comfy & rooms cleaned daily and breakfast is good with quite a few options. No views but good location to get around Prague with metro just short walk and next to a lovely farmers market and some lovely bars and restaurants. Not far from the TV tower and a large shopping mall with a great food court.
Would def recommend and will definitely revisit this hotel.

We stayed for 4 nights in January and was impressed with it all. The room was spacious and clean and had a good, strong shower. The heating was effective and we were able to control it ourselves. The breakfast was excellent with lots of variety of hot and cold items: egg, sausage, toast, cereal, cheese, salami, fruit, pastries and apple strudel! We were able to leave our bags behind a locked door on the last day too. Convenient 5 mins walk to the green metro line. Has a good pub between the metro line and hotel called Beer Geek.

Nice Hotel in Great Neighborhood

As several reviewers have pointed out, this is nowhere near a four star hotel. It's closer to a two star hotel but it's not bad. Barbora at the front desk was delightful and was super helpful at check in. The room itself was small but nicely decorated with newer bathrooms. Water pressure in the shower was great and the WIFI in the room worked with no problems. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff did a nice job keeping everything freshly stocked despite it being very busy. A few negatives: 1. The \"old school\" gigantic key was clunky to carry around (they recommended that I leave it at the front desk every time I leave the hotel but that wasn't very practical.) 2. The walls were super thin and I could hear everything going on in the room next to me. 3. Right outside my window there was work being done on the parking lot so it was really noisy. All in all, a good value for the money.

I picked the Hotel Taurus as the base for my four night stay because it was near an event I was going to and also fairly close to where a friend of mine lived who I was going to be spending time with while I was in Prague. I asked for a room away from the road and was given one although a room right beside the car park on ground level was not what I had in mind. I didn't mind not having a view but I could not leave the window open without being there otherwise anyone could have entered the room.

I didn't take advantage of the free breakfast every day but when I did it was good, sometimes things took a while to be replenished if they ran out though. And the number of tables isn't really adequate for the number of guests, it was always very busy and not always easy to find a table. There were some sofas by reception but it is a shame the hotel didn't have a proper bar area as it would have been nice to grab a drink and relax when getting back to the hotel rather than just going straight back to my room.

The hotel has a tram stop and a metro station a couple of minutes away so is very convenient for public transport and there are a number of shops and restaurants nearby. I don't consider it a 4 star hotel though, not compared to other 4 star hotels I have stayed in before but it wouldn't stop me considering it the next time I am in the area.

I was disappointed with the property, especially considering the high rating on expedia and the fact it has 4 stars. My bedding had stains on, there was no AC in our room and although the shower was nice and powerful, it went from freezing to scolding every so often while it was running on the same setting. Also, the breakfast was a bit rubbish, and worse still, there were ants in the pastry trays which put me off my food. I was very disappointed with the hotel in general and the staff weren't very welcoming in my opinion.

I needed a quick place to stay for one night in Prague and I chose Hotel Taurus because they have transfer service from the airport. I received an email from the hotel prior to my arrival and I replied with my flight information to organize the transport from the airport. My flight was delayed and I didn't see the taxi when I came out. I called the hotel and told them I was about 30 minutes late. They called the driver and he arrived immediately. I didn't have local currency yet but he accepted 28 EUR for the ride, which is also the price quote on the website.

The front desk is staffed at all times. I filled out the registration form and emailed it back before my arrival but he couldn't find it so I filled it out again during check in. He led me to the hallway where my room is. They use real keys instead of card keys for the rooms.

The room is comfortable without many frills. There are small bottles of soap and bar soap, even though there are also pump dispensers of soap by the sink and in the shower. The TV has an abundance of channels. The toilet is wrapped with a band that says it has been disinfected.

There is an automatic light in the doorway that goes on when you walk by. It also went on a couple of times during the night when all the lights were off and I was in bed.

The breakfast features a fair spread of bread, cold cuts, warm food, cereal, coffee and juice. There is also a grocery store very close by.

The front desk staff is very nice and helpful.

Hotel was not as shown in picture. We stayed in room 110. It has twin beds but was very old and shabby. It was not maintained well and had very old carpet. The walls were paper thin and I had to keep banging on the wall as the man in the room next to ours was snoring. There was a strong smell leading downstairs and the rooms were very musty smelling. On the plus side, the breakfast was very good and everything was refilled quickly. It was close to the centre of town by train with a supermarket across the road. The staff at front desk were quite civil but did not go out of their way to greet you when entering the hotel. This may just be a Prague thing??

Great location just two metro stops from the city centre. Room was clean and breakfast excellent with a wide selection of food. The area has several restaurants to choose from for all types of food that are more affordable than the city centre. Also a safe neighbourhood.

The only drawback is noise. There is next to no soundproofing so you will hear people in the hallway. I was in a new partnership of the hotel and I'm not sure why it was so loud. You will also hear the trams go by. However, ear plugs were able to block the sound.

All that being said, excellent value for Prague, with great breakfast and friendly staff.

Nice enough hotel. Close to the underground to get into the centre. The guy at the front desk was helpful and recommended a good (and reasonably priced) restaurant close to the hotel. The only thing is that it was very hot out and there was no air conditioning in the room, which made it difficult to sleep.

Staff was friendly and helpful with letting me check in early after a long bus ride. They also called and set me up with a tour. Breakfast was also good and included in the price.
However, besides the staff and breakfast, my stay was very disappointing. First of all it was extremely hot in the room, so hot that I barely slept while staying there. I knew there was no A/C, but they also do not provide a fan for you. Since I had to keep the window open to try and get some air flow into the room, I had to hear the loud noises from the apartment building that is right outside my window. I heard televisions, children screaming and some hammering noise that lasted throughout the night. Also, they advertised that there is an elevator, and there is one there, but it does not access all of the hotel. So for my room, I had to lug all of m luggage up 5 flights of stairs, in the extreme heat. It was also quite far away from many of the sights, so I had to take an Uber. I would not recommend this hotel.

Room alloted was below average, being a 4 star hotel the room did not match its standards, Very low roof could hardly stand upright, no lifts going to fifth floor, staircase was obstructed with a fallen ladder, bathroom doors were without a lock, wifi had poor connectivity, water temperature and flow changed continuously, in freezing temperature it was difficulty with cold water, overall its a no go!

The price for night with the breakfast included is unbelievable when you see (and taste) all the delicious options in the breakfast room.
The room was very comfortable but a little cold (no double glazing windows) even with the heater in the maximum, taking a shower the water gets colder if you stay for long time!

This hotel is further away from the main attractions of Prague, Old Town, Castle etc. than I expected. It is old fashioned and outdated. The bedroom allocated was a tiny attic room which we moved out of to a slightly larger room. The staff were friendly and gave a complimentary bottle of prosecco for the inconvenience....a kind gesture and much appreciated. The Continental breakfast was plentiful and tasty however I would not recommend this hotel as there are more convenient and more modern in better locations in Prague.

Regular place

The air conditioner unit was leaking so the carpet was soaked and at night you cannot sleep with the noise of the water drops. Overpriced for what you get.

Great hotel

Lovely hotel, super clean with a great breakfast. Staff were helpful and for a small fee you can reserve a parking spot.

Quirky hotel with lots of character. Pleasant reception staff willing to help if needed.
Clean, warm and comfortable acomodation at very reasonable price.
Have stayed here for 15 years and still keep returning

2 nights was enough on 3th night we changed hotel

Well, the best breakfast in the hotel which we ever have, but..... the room was horrible, nothing to do with the pictures.... Spots on the floor, horible, horible towels dirty gray color, white clean color disappear from long time, broken door on the bathroom we said to reception but nobody fixed. We pay for 3 people. They put us in 2 bedroom..... From the receptionist the man of the morning shifts was great and helpful others wasn't talk with us at all. Just never again....
