The hotel and room were great! The bed was very comfy and the blackout curtains were an excellent touch. It's located near quite a few restaurants, cafes and bars, as well as a few markets. I took a brief walk to there from the train station. Georgia, at the front desk, was extremely friendly and had many recommendations.

Staff were excellent and helpful. Was also able to check in early. Parking is offsite (block over) and $30 per night. Few of changes since staying back when it was called ‘Tryp’. The casual restaurant and bar downstairs is now closed and the rooftop bar and restaurant is now a more expensive restaurant and only open at certain times. Missed having something convenient onsite. Rooms are still the same funky style with everything you need if just using as a place to sleep. We stayed for a concert so it was perfect for this. If staying longer, the bathroom is a struggle as no bench space at all so nowhere to put makeup, toiletries and hair tools etc. so makes getting ready hard for the ladies. Fridge was definitely not cold despite changing the thermostat but staff were helpful and bought up an ice bucket to cool our champagne. Overall, The Constance is in a great spot to explore the Valley and we’d stay again.

A terrible hotel in every way. Bad service at check-in, sketchy neighborhood, tiny and ill equipped room with no closet or drawers and very dirty room. Stained quilt, gum left on headboard. Unusable bathroom with flooding shower. Seriously one of the worst hotels I’ve ever experienced in my 50 years of world travel.

We were excited to visitand then it stopped dramatically. All we could here were jackhammers. Upon arrival to our room we had a double and not a twin as requested. I go back down stairs and reception were arguing that I booked a Double, no, here is the booking from Expedia. Reception reallocate a new room, my friend takea the bags and walks into a room that was occupied ! He goes back downstairs with our luggage and allocated a new room (without guests). The sound proofing was bad considering we were on the Osbourne Hotel side of the hotel and their music goes until 3am (not ideal for sleep even with earplugs). The bathroom had no available space for 2 wetpacks, not space in shower to put your products, the toilet seats should be slow close (even cinemas have these). 2 Towels for 2 ppl, we are accustomed to 2 towels per person as someone always needs to wash their hair. In saying this, the bed was comfortable and rooms clean. A few small going forward would make the stay more pleasant. Location was great, close to great wine bars, food. But we wont stay their again! We are seasoned travellers and cost didnt stack up to what was on offer.

The hotel was run down and had misleading photos of site. The outdoor lounge area was a small balcony with an old small table and 2 old chairs. No gym… a vacant room with paint tins in it. No cafe bar …. Just another empty room.
Definitely would not have booked if I’d seen the state the hotel was in.
The photos showed a stylish funky place!!!

Chrishelle on the reception was excellent and very helpful, always with a smile on her face. The other reception staff were also very helpful and friendly but I got to know Chrishelle well.

My only gripe was that, as an international traveller, I had to use adaptor plugs which had the problem of turning the plug sockets off if I plugged them in fully. Also, there were no USB sockets near the bed (I did not see the USB sockets underneath the desk in the room).

A recommendation would be to include a more comfortable chair in the room as this is supposed to be a double room but it only has one chair.

I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat even more so if it had a breakfast service.

Overall The Constance was great. The staff were friendly and efficient and the location is super handy there are just a few things for travellers to be aware of - the room is very compact (everything you need is included but it is very small) and even though great measures have been taken by the hotel to minimise the noise, it was still very loud (until around 3am). But I guess that’s what you get when choosing a hotel right in the heart of the Valley.

The Constance is a quirky little property that was reasonably priced for a very short stay. It was a 5-minute walk to Fortitude Valley Music Hall, which was great. There are loads of interesting food outlets nearby by. I'm sorry to say I dropped my brand new, full bottle of foundation on the bathroom floor - It smashed and the contents went everywhere on the tiles. I tried to clean it up - sorry, whoever had to clean the rest up!

I loved the room but had a bad experience regarding the parking. The staff told me i had received an email detailing the parking available around the hotel. The email was never sent. The staff member never re-sent the email after I asked to see the details. I was staying alone so had to park first. Instead of $17/night uncovered parking. I paid $91. Never heard back from the hotel when trying to resolve the issue. I was devastated. I have severe anxiety and this was an awful experience.

Terrible experience.
I bought drinks and chicken for my following day as on the road. Found out fridge wasn’t working so food had to be thrown out.
Told the manager next morning to get a reply. “It’s only a cooler not a fridge” I said it doesn’t work at all and he rudely said ok. Will look at it.
Got back later that day to find fridge hasn’t even been looked at . Went back down and he rudely said will send maintenance up. He came and said. Not working and full hotel so can’t do anything.
Next day reminded them. Then got back ( now later day three) said to the guy again nothing’s been done. He then rudely said will swap one from another room and he knocked once and dragged one from room next door now doesn’t have a working fridge. And on top of that a fowl smell coming up from drains on bathroom

We booked this last minute for a two night stay with a friend. It was easy walking distance from the train station and easy to walk around the area.
The rooms were quiet and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
The municipal pool was 5 minutes walk away which was free to use as a hotel guest.

This is a great spot if you have an event in Fortitude valley. It is an easy 5 minute walk to the main Brunswick Mall. The room was reasonably priced, nice and cool and very clean. I will definitely book again.
