Great hostel. The best of my Australia trip. Very clean. Huge kitchen for cooking (by the end of the day it would get pretty dirty but still useable). Plenty of casual seating area in the lobby. Good location to story bridge and restaurants and bars. Would stay again.

I'm a light sleeper but slept really well here - Comfortable bed and quiet room. I really appreciated the clean and modern bathroom which was flush with light. To change air con fan-speed and temp, you will need to ask reception to attend your room and use their universal remote, but this was no problem for them and they seemed very happy to assist.

The bed was horribly hard and uncomfortable, the shower was literally a trickle of lukewarm water-no hot water and no pressure, the room and bathroom was quite clean. The entry steps had water leaking underneath them/at the bottom of them and is a slip hazard. For the price I was very disappointed

First night I was provided with my room number and key - it was dirty, full of rubbish and stank of weed smoke. I slept on a plastic covered mattress with no sheets, only a doona with no cover. The next morning I was informed by a staff member that it was mistakenly given a key to a 'Work for board' room and they had a clean room for me. It was an improvement, at least it had clean sheets, but the bathroom was very dirty and I tried to avoid spending any time in the place.

Rooms require constant cleaning. There should be a obligation for tenants to shower at least one per week. As well people being shameless to having loud sexual relations even when all the roomates were in rest time at 2 am. For some reason not having access to the kitchen in night hours having the excuse to not letting you go inside a club that shares common areas with the hotel. So you can't drink a glass of water after 10 pm because they're thinking you're trying to smuggle into the club. No even have any decent game area or pool .

We stayed in a twin room which was a tiny room with bunk beds, though it met our needs and we were very pleased to find the en-suite is right next door and shared with one other room.

The bar downstairs, Birdees, was having an open mic night (Tues) so it was really lucky to be staying there and meeting some of the incredible local talent hosting (Caillin Malley) and they did a great job of getting the guests involved! I even got a gig out of it...

We had a great time, scouting a Thai restaurant across the road (as recommended by the lady who checked us in) and breakfast nearby.

I stayed in a room of 20 beds. It was health hazard. No air conditioning and way too hot. Very dark and dirty. No light at the bed. The attitudes of staffs were not well trained. I tried to sleep till 1:30am and never be able to coz of heat, I had to move to a couch in the lobby with air conditioning. Then one of the staff complained me that I didn’t sleep in a bed with health hazard. The worst back packer experience ever.

what a fun place to stay even for us geezers, very helpful staff, good storage facilities and lockers, and can't beat the free beer every evening at 8pm, which got the party rolling, center of town location is good too.
we got a room en suite, what a cool refuge on a hot day.

Taking into consideration the fact this was a backpackers, my expectations were relatively low. We booked last minute and the price of parking (compared to other accommodation) in Brisbane was a sell point (as it was only $12). We arrived an hour prior to check in and staff were able to accommodate us straight away, which was appreciated. However, the parking was at full capacity so we ended up having to venture 10 minutes around the block just to get to the public carpark 20m from the hotel. I was also told parking would be subsided, which it was, however we ended up having to pay $22 anyway. All up, we spent $127 on a private room for the night (+ parking). The location and overall atmosphere of Bunk was great, but the quality of the room was not worth the price.

Hostel is in a great location close to nightlife and the city. Has great facilities like a pool and a bar. Staff and other travellers are friendly. Very social atmosphere. However, I stayed in a 20 bed dorm and it was extremely cramped. Although advertised with air con, there was no air con or air flow at all in the room, making it extremely uncomfortable for those hot Queensland nights.

Only stayed for a night but I liked it. Quiet enough to take a nap during the day after a long flight. Worked for a bit in the bar lounge next door until about 8PM when it got pretty busy. Nice place to get a private room in, would recommend.

Pros: the bar looked really fun (and 1000 times cleaner than the dorms), if I had more cash I would have spent more time there meeting my neighbours! Also the staff were really friendly...and there was a pool and very basic included breakfast every morning :)

Cons: the place smelled like mildew, heaps of visible mold, my dorm barely fit the number of beds, my bunk swayed and creaked so much it woke me up every time I rolled over and I was legit scared it was gonna collapse and crush the person under me, and the ceiling light and very loud aircon unit were both within arm's reach of my bunk bed.

I'm not particularly disappointed because it WAS super cheap, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it if you've got the cash to go elsewhere.

I was really looking forward to staying here but couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed. The reception area is so modern and clean and really gives off a fantastic impression. Unfortunately the room I stayed in was parallel to this. I was staying in a private double room which had an ensuite. I noticed right away there was an unusual smell, the light was very dim so I had to keep the bathroom door open to let in light, which also meant I could always hear the bathrooms noisy air con. There were hairs and crumbs all over the bed sheets and the ‘white’ towels were dull and covered in again hair and various stains. Parts of the bunk bed were snapped and broken and the furniture was all old and mismatched (not in the fashionable vintage way but in a we can’t afford to renovate way). Walking around the rest of the building everywhere seemed like it could be doing with an update. The area itself didn’t have much going on in the day time, meaning I had to travel far to see things I wanted to see, but the nightlife nearby was great. This was also the only hostel I stayed in that didn’t offer free WiFi. You got half an hour a day (something along those lines) for free then you had to pay if you wanted to keep using it for another 24 hours. Thankfully I didn’t have to spend a lot of time here as all the things I wanted to see meant I had to invest an entire day on being away from the hostel.

Staff stole my belongings!

When I left for the day, leaving all my luggage locked in the lockers and some things on and around my bed, I came back to find my things all taken from the bed. I first suspected that it was another hostel guest who had taken my things, but I wondered why someone would take an eye mask and used earplugs. It looked like housekeeping must have thought I left these items here after checking out. I went to the front desk and told them that the cleaning staff must have taken the items to Lost-and-Found so he led me to where they keep the things people leave behind. I found my scarf there but nothing else that belonged to me (including a $20 microfiber towel, phone charger and adapter). I have to assume that these items were stolen by the cleaning staff instead of being put in Lost-and-Found.
The next day, leaving only my shoes near the bed, I come back at the end of the day and my shoes are gone. Again, I ask to look in Lost-and-Found but they are not there. The front desk staff said they would keep an eye out for my stolen items and did nothing else to compensate my loss. I assume they don’t tell the cleaning staff that guests stay longer than one night and should not steal the guest’s belongings!

The rest of the hostel was okay, the bathroom shared in the dorm room was pretty clean. But paying for wi-fi was not ideal and the dinner specials were never the same as the posters advertised. Overall, would NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN and advise others to NOT STAY HERE!

The facilities are modern and maintained well. My room was really small and there wasn't much space for my luggage and no lockers. However it did have a light by the bed and a power supply. The wifi is only available in the reception area and you have to pay extra for it. The destination is a fair bit from the city however its easy enough to catch a train for a few dollars or there is a shuttle bus but the frequency ain't the best.

We were staying in Room 411. The mattress is too soft and too thick, very uncomfortable after sleeping for the whole night. For this I will grade it as \"C-\".

Room lighting is not enough. It could be brighter for reading. I will give a \"B-\".

Breakfast is just nice, I will give an \"A\" for it.

Very good in providing a kitchen so that we could do our own cooking. Grade \"A\" for it.

It IS a backpacker place, things were as you'd expect, busy, a bit loud in the group areas. Quite in the room area. It is a bit of a rabbit warren. The double room had a shared toilet/shower, clean and high standard. Room was small, no seat or table, lockers would have been difficult to use, and bunk bed not a solid as you'd like, but beding was good. Non-adjustable air-con was not a problem, even though is was a very hot day. Windows sealed shut was not to my liking.
Down side- room and whole floor smelt a bit funky and bar stopped serving meals at 6pm.
Up side- Cheapish, central, clean, lots of options for drinks and meals in surrounding area.
Things were as you'd expect for a backpacker accomadation. I would stay there again.

Air con said it was working, but must have been set at like 40 degrees. No remote in the room. Had to have the windows open for air, but that also let in loud road noise and people's karaoke singing. Had a twin shared room, which shared a bathroom with another twin room. The bathroom was new and really nice and spacious. Complementary breakfast was nice. Location was a bit of a walk from the city, but close to heaps of food options and the train station.

This is a backpackers - what more do you expect - other than a bed to sleep, and a locker (minus the padlock - you have to buy one yourself) to store your stuff. The bunk bed was nice - easy enough to sleep on - supplied with a duvet, clean sheets, and a pillow. Unfortunately our shower main drain was blocked and you had to rely on the secondary one to get rid of the water - I am sure other dorms were better. The nite club attached to the accommodation block would make it harder to sleep if you were a light sleep - the dance floor goes until 3 am - bit I didn't have any problems - and had a few late ones there myself!! All in all - a place to sleep - that's all - nothing more - nothing less. Would probably consider staying there again.
