The location is fantastic overlooking the sea with ships and boats of all sizes heading into the harbour. The short journey to and from Mahon is easy and inexpensive. The Staff are all very welcoming, friendly and efficient, the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The food is excellent with a variety of choices everyday cooked fresh with something for everyone. We’ve been several times before and certainly will be back, thank you.

The hotel is situated in a residential area so you are not overwhelmed by loads of tourists and really get a feel for local culture. Es Castell is within walking distance of Mahón but there is also a very good bus service to Mahón and Ciutadella.

Nice hotel in a perfetct position

Highly reccommend this hotel. Lovely position, nice staff, clean rooms and fairly laid back. It is very OAP (Which we are just). I would say though that for the star rating, the breakfast was average and the rooms were great but not the most luxurious we have been to for the rating? All in all no complaints at all - would go back for sure

Miguel was very friendly upon arrival and all the staff were very helpful. My room was comfortable and clean and the facilities in the hotel are great. Location is perfect for somewhere quiet but close to the city. As a solo traveller I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

It's right by the ocean you can walk into town or around the docks. My room was facing the bay and so I got the best views of Sunrise every day. They have Vegetarian/Vegan options for breakfast. Just Amazing!

L’hôtel est super bien et calme (basse saison début Avril).
Très calme, petit déjeuner très bien et complet (œufs selon vos envies , brouillés , omelettes, au plat avec également tortilla et pancakes).
Pour aller à Mahon, commander un taxi à la réception car pas d’uber sur l’île. (À peine 10 min de route)
Balibed sur réservation et payants mais transats à disposition.

Very relaxing holiday. Comfortable hotel with very polite staff. Plenty of sun beds around the pool. We liked the option to buy three evening meals at a discount if you have bed & breakfast so you can sample the many nearby restaurants. Half an hour easy walk into Mahon.

Property was very nice, very clean and tidy with loads of facilities ie sauna, gymnasium, turkish bath etc. A very relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast got a bit repetitive, dinining at hotel quite pricey. Property was very quiet, no entertainment, good access to sunbeds. In general Es Castell was very quiet.

Great hotel, walking distance into Mahon (30 minutes) and 10-15 minutes from local bars and restaurants.

Hotel lobby, restaurant and rooms all very clean and comfortable. Views amazing. Breakfast was good.

Only downsides was the pool was very cold and guests who've stayed previously said it's all freezing, despite in being August, and some of the decking is unsafe and needs replacing. Also the poolside snack / lunch menu is rather expensive.

Overall a good hotel.

Le personnel au resto bar est très accueillant et souriant. Le petit déjeuner offre beaucoup d'options (omelettes, viandes, fruits, fromages et charcuteries ainsi que le mimosa!)
Il y a toujours des chaises de disponibles et la vue est magnifique. Hotel très calme et magnifique. La chambre est petite, il y a un frigo et le lit est confortable. Bus a 10 minutes de marche, mais l'idéal est de louer un scooter ou un vélo.
On a adoré notre séjour!!

My partner and I booked this hotel 2 days before (last minute breakaway) and would stay here again! First time for us on the island of Menorca and cannot wait to go back. If you are looking for local culture like we wanted, this is the place to be! Beautiful scenery, quiet, food is amazing and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Plenty of little walks around Es Castell with lovely restaurants and bars and 30 min walk to Mahon harbour. Beautiful! We will be back!

Great hotel which we will use again in Es Castell

Lovely hotel with very welcoming and attentive staff. Room was clean and fresh with an amazing waterfall showerhead. Bed was just right for us including pillows. Great choice for breakfast including fresh omlettes. 5 or so minuite walk to the harbour in Es Castell where alot of the restaurants etc are and 5 or less minutes to the bus stop. We walked into Mahon on our last day and it took around half an hour and that was at a slow pace. Personally wouldn't want to walk back from Mahon as it's a bit uphill for me personally but walking there was fine.

Property does not look like the photos. Rooms are very cramped and basic. Beds uncomfortable and the air conditioning does not function well enough to cool even on the max setting. Staff at the bar and restaurant are great. Reception staff always looking for tips and make you feel uncomfortable. Hotel always looking to charge extras where possible. Really disappointing.

Overall a very poor experience. Avoid. Much better options on the island.

Very handy for Mahon and 15mins away from the airport. Staff are top notch seeing to your needs. There was a lack of available sunbeds on a Sunday as the pool area does get a bit busy. Overall great week in eco-friendly hotel without skimping on quality

Good hotel but expensive drinks

Had a very enjoyable short break, hotel drinks are really expensive Gin and Tonic 8Euros, premium Gin. and tonic 9.50Euros, we had some family staying at the agommen and would of liked to invite them to our hotel for drinks but at that price it was a big no no, may I suggest a happy hour between 6 and 8pm.
Hotel was very clean and modern we had room 120 side sea view, lovely balcony but was too hot to sit on between 4 and 8 pm.
Breakfast was good however I asked for a poached egg and when it came it tasted totally of vinegar, not just a little bit but as if it had actually been cooked in it.
We wanted to book for a short break next June but was told by the receptionist that we could book but couldn’t not book a sea view room, can’t understand logic in that.

Great service!

The service at the hotel was very good. There was a problem with the air conditioning in the room we had booked so we agreed to take a basic room for one night, then we were moved to a wonderful corner room with an amazing view! The staff were very lovely to us, gave us some free drinks on arrival and again at lunch. A lovely touch! We did not unfortunately have a twin room which we had booked which would be the only negative point.

Incredible customer service

Without question one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in: the staff are so friendly and accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. From the cleaners to the chef to the restaurant manager to the staff on reception, the service was absolutely impeccable. I have some dietary restrictions and the chefs went out of their way to provide me a range of options every day, even tweaking some of their usual recipes! The breakfast and dinner buffets are both high quality and absolutely delicious.

The entire hotel is spotless. We paid for a room with a sea view and it was stunning, definitely worth it. Everything is modern and clean and the hotel smells amazing!

We also used the spa and both had a full body massage which was one of the best I’ve ever had. A great start to a very relaxing holiday. Thank you to all the staff at Artiem Carlos III for making my holiday so memorable, I’ll definitely be back.

We had a lovely holiday & stay at this hotel. The decor is modern and the facilities are excellent. The staff are friendly yet not over bearing and helpful to ensure your stay is everything you want it to be. The location is quiet and although there are some bars & resturants in the locality, it is not a busy location. This suited us fine as we didn’t want ‘to be busy’. The food was delicious with plenty of variety. Overall this holiday was exactly what we wanted and needed.

Lovely hotel in a quiet location with great views of Mahon harbour. We loved laying by the pool or sitting on our balcony watching the ships and yachts go by. And the staff were so friendly, not just at reception and in the bar/restaurant, but also the housekeeping and maintenance staff. They made us feel very welcome, more so than any other hotel we’ve stayed in. Buffet breakfast and dinner were very good, with a wide selection.

We have stayed here before. Hotel is excellent and staff great. There’s a new manageress who we found surly and not so approachable. A couple of blips in service in the restaurant when we had to wait a long time to order drinks because staff all focused on outside and we ate inside. Food is excellent quality but a bit similar every night.

Friendly welcome, decent and bright rooms, comfortable beds, great breakfast. Local area a bit run-down though nice harbour area 15 mins walk max. About 45 mins walk into Mahon's old town. One small consideration is that you may not be able to find a parking space near the hotel, though there is a large (wasteground) car park five minutes away.

The perfect stay

Wonderful; hotel staff were so helpful, the views were stunning and the restaurant food delicious! Great facilities - pool, jacuzzi etc. Lots of sun beds. You can even go down to the sea at the bottom of the hotel to swim. It's close to Mahon (20 minute walk or a short bus ride) but a nice, quiet base to return to after a day exploring the island. Idyllic, we can't wait to go back!

This hotel is wonderfully situated. Its rooms are well-appointed, if somewhat passe. The staff are delightful. Breakfast is a lovely experience. However, do not expect to enjoy the beautiful terrace facility comprising bar and restaurant. You will not be able to enjoy the wonderful views and atmosphere since you will find the terrace overrun by non-residents; an issue this lovely hotel needs somehow to address if it wishes to attract back guests who feel rather marginalised by this lack of availability of the hotel's finest facility.

Nice Hotel but not 5 Star

This is a hotel I can only describe as 'nice'. I sadly lacks what you might call luxury.
Everything is clean and tidy but very basic, the staff are very hard working helpful and friendly.
The rooms are basic and not very big. The pool area is nice but nothing special
Evening entertainment varied from 'OK' to 'pretty awful'. very few people seemed to stay around in the evening giving the place a somewhat deserted feel at times.
The buffet breakfast is excellent
The hotel is located in Es Castell and majority of the restaurants nearby are in the Cales Fonts area, a lovely picturesque bay. This is about a 15 minute walk away. The restaurants in this are all pretty much serve the same menu, its just a question of finding which one does it best!
The main town of Mahon is 15 minutes away on the local bus but sadly the last bus from Mahon is at 20.45 - no good is you want a night out and as we discovered taxis are harder to find than rocking horse droppings and we ended up having to walk 2.5km back to the hotel. Fantastic location overlooking estuary

Room available upon arrival at 10am, booked a suite, good size room with large balcony and outside jacuzzi. Staff very friendly and helpful in particular Raul in restaurant and staff in reception upon arrival, Kevin and colleague. Selection and quality of food at breakfast and evening meal excellent.

Fantastic hotel, peaceful and quiet. Great facilities and location. 5-10 minute walk to local town Es Castell and there is a supermarket just round the corner. The staff are friendly and helpful.
