Nothing positive about my stay at MO Guangzhou for the last 2 days. First, my room was not ready until 4:15pm, no explanations no apology. The breakfast is the lowest level that I experienced in all the MO I have been to, and it’s even worse than the Hiltons. Chicken is hard and freshly made noodles are overcooked and mushy. The espresso had a bad taste due to either stall bins or unflushed machine. Varieties are less than half of what the Shanghai MO has,

Only had time to stay here for one day but we were very impressed with the level of services provided, dining experiences within the hotel and the convenience of the location.
Special call out to Catherine at the front desk and Colleñ at the concierge desk, both of whom had gone above and beyond their expected duties to assist us, making our last day in Guangzhou a truly memorable one.

This is a very luxurious hotel, the room was expertly cleaned everyday and the gym and spa area was immaculate and probably the best I have experienced in terms of quality and facilities. Initially we had a room facing the main junction which we found a bit noisy. We got moved to a room on the opposite side which was much quieter. I am sensitive to sound so maybe other guests would be fine.

The Michelin star restaurant was amazing for a treat and not too expensive. Breakfast is fantastic quality albeit a bit pricey.

Only negative is level of English amongst front desk staff varies from excellent to non-existent, so it depends on your luck the kind of service you get.

Have to say this was terrible experience for staying at this ‘‘LUXURY HOTEL’’
Parking definitely is a huge pain and what’s more upsetting was that hotel staff provided unaligned info and it took more than 1 hr for us to settle down and check in
Hotel reception said that duty manager would come and explain the parking issue.No one approach to us.And reception didn’t mentioned any breakfasts info till I further called and checked.Room WiFi showed need to be paid for until I make another call to clarify.
Location and facilities are quite good to be honest, but I do think the service level did fail to Mandarin Oriental brand

The service is in a class of it's own. I booked a Oriental Club room which gave me access to the Club Lounge and amenities including a lovely breakfast, tea and cocktails in the evening. Wow! Wow! Wow!

This hotel is unreal! We have tried several in Guangzhou and really enjoyed a few but this hotel is just spectacular. The club staff Catherine and Grace were absolutely amazing. The amenities near the hotel are top notch and include a high end mall with fantastic food options. Although the hotels restaurants are just spectacular. We can’t say enough good things about our stay and will absolutely be continuing to return to this hotel when in Guangzhou or other areas we travel!

Poor quality of sleep


Great location. But did not expect such a disappointing experience from Mandarin, in terms of both the room itself and the service. The lighting in the room is poorly designed. A small but bright blue light that emits from the charging station shines directly onto the bed. There are also no night lights to guide walkthrough to bathroom in the middle of the night (almost tripped). The lighting control panel only has a Master on/off, which must turn on all lights at once!

After picking up my room phone messages, the phone continues to flash red (message alert) the whole night with no way to turn it off. The red light reflects onto the ceiling, which deflects directly onto the bed. Totally affected my sleep and my next day.

Spent 15 minutes explaining these issues to the man at the front desk, only for him to ask me to repeat same to his supervisor. That took another 15+ minutes, after which she then wanted me to speak to her senior! By then, I was too exhausted and fed up.

Didn't feel good from the hotel. Slept poorly. The staff's apathy was insult to injury. Sad experience.

Not the best MO room

I am a fan of MO, so It's difficult to rate a Mandarin Oriental property so low. Checked in after 8pm and had to go though the routine of check-in at the front. I am used to the MO having the room ready and taking me to the room for check in. Upon entering the room, there is musky and unpleasant smell. Since I was told that the hotel was fully committed I knew that changing the room was probably not an option. Plus I was so tried to make a compliant. The other items not on par with MO is a clogged sink, only 2 water bottles in a 2-bed room, and no turn down service. Despite this MO being relatively new it not the best MO I have stayed. I will likely go back to Four Seasons when visiting Guangzhou next.

Great stay, excellent service

This trip was half business and half personal as I took my baby along. Initially the main reason I chose this hotel was because it is conveniently located next to Taikoo Hui. Minutes away from the well-known restaurants. My stay was beyond expectations. The hotel is maintained well and rooms are spacious. The most exceptional part of this stay has to give its credit to the phenomenal hotel staff. From the time I arrive until check-out, the staffs are willing to accommodate my requests and offered extra assistance and patiently answered all the enquiries I have.

Thank you Mandarin Oriental and your staff for giving me such a pleasant experience.

Best Hotel in Guangzhou

We stayed here for two days recently and couldn't praise it too highly! We were upgraded to a suite, the staff were warm and knowledgeable, the location was perfect, near the business district but the sound-proofing in the rooms made them beautifully silent. We had stayed in a 5-star hotel in Guangzhou before but it was not anywhere as good as the Mandarin---it deserves every one of its 5 stars!

Wonderful expirience in Guangzhou

My wife and myself stayed in a club floor room for 4 nights and could not fault the staff, the accommodation and the facilities. We would not hesitate to book again in the future.
