The room was nice and spacious. The washing machine & dryer was extremely handy. The place while clean showed its age. The place was near metro (Tiyu Xilu station and Shipaiqiao station) and there were 3 major shopping malls close by (Grandview, PARC Central and One Link). The breakfast was okay and be monotonous if you have it 5 days in a row.

The location is excellent, close to shopping, restaurants, and public transport. The rooms are spacious, modern, and very well-equipped — perfect for both short and long stays.

One of the standout points was the staff — most of them spoke English, which made everything much easier and more comfortable. And I have to highlight the breakfast — truly amazing, with a wide variety of both Western and Asian options. Highly recommendable!

Apartment was as expected of an Oakwood property. Beds and sheets were very comfortable, with blackout curtains. Daily cleaning included. Good size rooms and apartments. Best was location.

Great location close to the major shopping district and modern shopping malls nearby. Tiancheng mall is connected to other big malls and has one level full of gadgets. Lots of eating places nearby and in the big malls. Not that close to train station but we took Didi everywhere so didn’t impact us. Breakfast was so-so but so much other choice outside the mall. There’s a good, nice massage place round the corner called 玲珑时光保健会所.

Close to a huge mall and lots of placea to eat.The only disappointment was the swimming pool was closed and i felt we should have been made aware of this before we booked. However we still had a lovely stay.

We stayed for 3 nights, the 1 bedroom apartment is clean and cosy. Apartment has many lights so it is bright. At the time when I Check in and out, both receptionists are not so friendly, not rude either, at the same time, not very proactive nor helpful. Not all are like these two as I had observed, some are quite nice and courteous. The concierge Mr Chris Yao is amazing, he is very hardworking and helpful to all guests who arrives or departs. He greets every guests with a smile, help them with their luggage and escort them to the lifts. BTW, Reception is on the 15th floor. He introduced nice places and restaurants with good food. Guided us on how to use the Apps to take MRT. He is very friendly and approachable. He has 2 other colleagues who help the guests too but they seem very robotic. There are many nice eateries across the main road and Grandview Mall is diagonally opposite the hotel, about 5 mins walk. Train station is approx 10 mins walk. It is easy to book DIDI to get around and price is very reasonable. As it was my husband's birthday, the hotel gave him a small bottle of wine. Nice gesture.

Excellent hotel on the eastern edge of the Tianhe shopping district, with many big shopping malls and dining options within just a few minutes' walk. The hotel itself is very well equipped, nicely maintained and extremely comfortable. We found the beds particularly comfortable and the bathrooms spotlessly clean. Desk staff were polite, helpful and spoke decent English, which is not always the case in China. I would certainly stay at Oakwood Premier again when visiting Guangzhou.

There was a weird sound coming from the aircon hence I called the reception to send someone over to check. It took close to 30 mins for the technician to arrive and I had to call them a 2nd time to expedite as I was rushing to leave the hotel. Issue was fixed. I figured the hotel is just generally old. Housekeeping service was also slow as I had to call 2 times to request for more toilet paper. Overall, stay was mediocre.

Only drawback is that the hotel doesn’t have a driveway for cars to pick guests up. So taxis are stopped at the side road (and if it rains, you get wet).

Great stay! Spacious rooms with kitchenette and a sofa in the living area. Comes with washing machine. Walking distance to Taikoo Hui and other shopping area. Service was outstanding too. Only grief was that there is only a wall socket on one side of the bed and none that allows USB charging so bring your own universal adapter.

The hotel cleanliness and location is good , however the reception and lobby staff are not attentive and helpful. In fact, the reception staff are rude and not service oriented. The cleaners were very nice and attentive though which we are very appreciative and is the plus point of this hotel customer service. Please do train your staff. Also I do not understand why changing from 1 king bed to 2 twin beds is consider upgrade and need to pay more?

Located near a mall. the bellboys are very friendly and helpful. The check-in counter staff wasn't very helpful when we tried to ask about restaurant recommendations. The room was nice, view was good, but was infested with mosquitoes (I smacked 4 in less than 2 hours). Breakfast restaurant food quality wasn't great.

We stayed at the Oakwood during a business trip in April 2019. The hotel was lovely and the stafs were extremely accommodating. Our room was a 1 bedroom suite which was spacious and very clean. The bed/pillows were extremely comfortable.
The staff went out of their way to meet every whim, from directions to room service, taxi service and restaurant and shopping recommendations. Location was perfect for walking to all amenities.

I enjoyed my stay at Oakwood Premier Guangzhou. The staff were very helpful before my arrival and during my stay. They always found a staff member who spoke English so I was able to communicate my needs and get timely service. The room was very spacious and clean. Unfortunately the cable was under repairs and the TV was out of service on and off. Also, the room temperature was quite cold. The gym, pool, sauna and jacuzzi were large and not busy. The restaurant food was ok, overpriced for what you get but it was convenient for me.

Stayed here for two nights in early January, and was quite happy with our stay. The property was very luxurious and modern, a proper 5-star. It is a western chain so the front desk staff speaks excellent English and are generally fairly cosmopolitan and sophisticated. (The bellman on the ground floor can use some proper training, but they were friendly and helpful nonetheless.) The location of the hotel was quite convenient, with a few subway stations within walking distance, and many restaurants and shopping options nearby.

Our room (on the 33rd floor ) was spacious and very comfortable. The décor was very modern, luxurious, clean and chic. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was of good size and very well designed, with a laundry machine, steam bath function in the shower room. The kitchen was well equipped with nice equipments/flatwares/utencils. The Wifi in the room worked quite well.

The hotel has a huge, very well equipped gym, and a beautiful covered outdoor pool.

Overall, a great experience, at a very reasonable price!

Great Hotel with Affordable Rate & Good Service

I received an offer from Hotels.com while searching for accommodation for my last two nights in Guangzhou. The room is modern, well-maintained and super clean - which is helpful if you have any health or allergy issues. View of Guangzhou skyline from the room is fantastic. The availability of washing machines allowed me to take care of my laundry after traveling around China for nearly two weeks. I also like the fact that there's a kitchen in the room, which gives me the flexibility to do light cooking or even to heat up my food. Staff are generally helpful and able to converse well in English. They saved me the trouble of booking a taxi to get to the airport. Even though there was a small hiccup with my reservation which resulted in me getting charged twice, hotels.com was willing to refund the second transaction. I will definitely stay at this place again if I ever travel to Guangzhou in the future.

My other recommendation for Oakwood is it will be nice if you offer a membership rewards programme. This will give more incentive for solo travelers like me to stay in Oakwood properties for future travels.

Oakwood is a 5 min walk to the major shopping belt that consists of Grandview, Tee Mall, Parc Central, One Link Walk & Taikoo Hui as well as Shipaiqiao Metro station. Yet it does not feel noisy nor too packed compared to other hotels that are on top of the malls. Cos of the accessible Metro, we could take to other tourist attractions easily. We took a 1 bedroom apartment, it was pretty spacious, clean & cosy. Kids loved it and would ask to return earlier to hang out or rest.

We were initially given a room that was on the top floor which was very stuffy but was told to close the curtains to prevent the heat and leave the aircon on for a while but the condition didnt improve in the evening. Helpful staff Matt provided an alternative room when he understand our concerns.
Otherwise, location is awesome as is opposite a huge mall.

Nice hotel close to everything

Best part of the room is the washer and dryer, detergent included. Very convenient for us because we are going to another trip after this one and had to pack light. Except machines take forever to finish the cycle. But it's better than nothing .
The kitchenette is fabulous with dishwasher, lots of bowls and plates . We ordered from across the street and ate in the comfort of our room.
Staffs speaks Cantonese besides Mandarin and English.

Great hotel near everything

First impression was a little strange as the reception is on the 15th floor. The check-in was extremely efficient and friendly. The rooms were exactly as requested, huge by Asian hotel standards. As an added bonus, the rooms all have washer/dryer combo inside, together with the daily supply of washing detergent, it helped us tremendously on our long trip. The gym was large and very functional, a few Technogym pieces, a few treadmills and eliptical, a benchpress bench, two full sets of barbells; everything I needed. Decent size pool on the 14th floor if you like to lap swim. Location wise, it is on a main street which is very busy. It is a block walk to the nearest mall and it is connected underground to the nearest subway station. I never used their restaurant so I cannot comment but the space looks fine to me. We found at least 30 restaurants within 2 blocks of the hotel including two McDonalds (lol, I do need my daily coffee fix and McD appears to the the place with coffee), finding food is not an issue in the area. I like the hotel and will definitely stay there again.

Stayed here for 3 nights and I picked this hotel over Hilton and White Swan Hotel due to its Located in a convenient area with high-end shopping mall nearby and thousands of restaurants on your doorstep .
Staff from reception were friendly and helpful,were able to communicate in English fluently but the housekeeping and entrance lobby staff were not well-trained , kind of rude. The room was specious with 1.8m king size bed ,steam bath was available in your own bathroom also washing machine and dryer but the user manual for the washing machine was too confusing. BBC , National Geography and many other tv channels were avaiable but not of them in HD. The room I stayed was on 31st floor and near the lifts and I heard the conversation while other guests were waiting for the lift. One thing I didn't like it was the air conditioning , it was summer and I set it to 27'c but it was still too cold.

The room came with a fully equipped kitchenette, steam shower, washer/dryer combo in the bathroom, full sized ironing board, queen size bed, sound system with iPod docking station, sofa, dining table, mini bar and incredible views.

First of all, i travel to this area many times and this time i tried to book somewhere else than i used to be stayed. The location is not bad, but not very good. It is about 10min. walking distance to shopping centers.
Room condition - shower head (room#3401) was swinging around as I turn on the water.
The shower head never stayed as how I adjusted and fixed on.
Water temperature is unstable. It became very hot and warm repeated.
It smells bad in the bathroom.
Because of this hotel is apartment complex and pepole cook in the rooms, you can smell it in your room when they cook.
Noise- you can hear everything.
3 nights of total 8 days of my stay, I had to hear someone was talking on the phone every night and could even heard the voice over the phone. (Fyi, normally, Chinese people talks very loud).
Pros: breakfast is excellent.

good hotel but...

the hotel is beautifully decorated with nice rooms and excellent bathroom. i had two problems though-; room have many lights but all of them dim even after i adjusted dimmers to max. reading was almost impossible
second problem is hotel's restaurant that is just terrible. half of the menu not available and what was available was subpar quality and then they forgot soup...

Very comfortable apartments in TianHe

Multilingual front desk staff made check-in easy. Hotel is on top floors of tower so there are decent views of the surrounding area. Two bedroom easily accommodates a family of four.

Nice Room with Kitchnette.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel very much. Especially the steamed bath.
It's centrally located and we can take a taxi everywhere for the short trips to where we are going.
The breakfast spread is reasonable. And some shops just across the road sell local breakfasts.
