The resort was clean, the staff were excellent. The pool will clean and had nice food selections at them. Overall the result was excellent. The food was really great large selection of restaurants. The island was nice to go swim at not a lot of snorkeling, but there is some off the end of the island.

The room was a good size and the air conditioning kept it cool. The pools and beach were amazing. The staff was exceptional (so helpful in all areas of the resort). We enjoyed the pool tables, shuffleboard, ping pong and the restaurants. It truly has it all here!

The room was outdated, but mostly very clean. There was some sort of bug that kept making an appearance in the fridge cabinet. The WiFi was terrible. When we checked in there was no explanation about the room charge maximum and we were told when getting drinks one day that we couldn't charge to the room until we fixed. The "bracelets" served no purpose other than opening our door. We never tapped it on anything else. And they were bulky and not attractive.

We enjoyed our stay! We loved how close we were to the water park but be ready to walk as this resort is spread out a lot. The food was ok (suggest you go off resort) probably most frustrating was the service but it is to be expected with how many people are staying there. It is slow so have patience. All the workers were very friendly and helpful to navigate around the property. If you’re a golfer you have to check out and play their course! Amazing views and the course is pretty challenging. Make sure to head out to the resorts Island. We finally caught some good sun rays after it rained the first couple days. Overall we would suggest this to anyone with small kids and would return.

I’m really on the fence about this place. It’s a beautiful location but it has some faults that really impact it negatively. Rooms old/dirty, cable cars awful, terrible wait for the ferry, parking is a nightmare and prices are terrible. I understand it’s a resort and you will be paying resort prices but why is it necessary to wait in line for 30 minutes for a $8 cup of coffee. Nothing special about it either, should have been complimentary. Besides updating the rooms they really should work on training the staff. Most are cold and don’t care. Many times it seemed as if they were bothered to do their job. With the cost to stay at this location service should be top notch. The beach is nice but be prepared because getting back and forth will be a full day adventure.

El Conquistador is a great location, greatbeach views and different amenities in the building, Palomino Beach is one of a kind and water park is fun. Will definitely come back with kids as there are activities for them! Bartender at the Discotec was savvy on drinks, quick and friendly and the DJ was awesome and got us dancing 3 hours nonstop.

I was given “an upgrade”, which was a smaller and worse room than I paid for and received nothing else complementary for the inconvenience. Slowest service. Better for families with kids . Resort has unsupervised children running everywhere! Amenities such as pool tables, ping pong no activity specialist! Games are missing paddles cue balls . Service at pool bars poor ! Takes 20 minutes to get a drink . No waitress service outside at pools . Food in restaurants not great but costly . No water coolers around pool area . This property is for family with kids that just want a water park You need to pay for tennis or pickle ball . Only one 18 and over bar ! Nightly entertainment was good however you had kids running around doing gymnastics in the middle of the floor ! Hard to enjoy !

I stayed the whole week, the first 5 nights for a work conference, and the other 2 in a different room as I had to book separate. The garden room I had for the first 5 nights was outstanding! Modern, well kept, spacious…gorgeous! The ocean view one was not good! The bath tub was dirty, soap scum on the walls, the carpet had a musty smell through the hallway and room. I got disappointed with this room after experiencing the garden one on the other side of the resort. The view from the balcony was the beautiful highlight of this room.

I have to point out that the amenities like the pools, cabanas, restaurants on site, and the private island are all fantastic, the next time I stay, I will be sure to have a room on the “good side”.

Some of the staff are very friendly, others certainly show they’d rather be somewhere else! During a conference event/reception, one of the bartenders literally said “Jesus Christ” with extreme annoyance when I asked for Coke Zero, he didn’t have any so offered Diet Coke, and I said I’d prefer a regular coke then. Unsure why my request caused such annoyance but he certainly made it very evident. With the high value that accommodations, food and stay are here, and the prestige of the resort, I honestly expected a bit better customer service. Jan at the front desk and David in the cabanas were the highlight of kindness and helpfulness, great people.

Really nice resort, i would’ve given this a 4 star rating, but the couple staying in the room next to us was drunk, throwing up, arguing, loud, i had to call the front desk 3 times, we didn’t get to sleep until 3:30am.

Better control of alcohol and security or staff should do rounds throughout hallways for several reasons.

Also due to water shortages the water park slides did not open.

We had a beautiful, clean room with a gorgeous view of the sunset over the golf course and mountains. We loved the resort amenities, especially the private island, restaurants, and pools. I highly recommend El Conquistador to anyone who wants to relax or seek adventure. It was a great experience for our family! (One note, you must take your parking pass to be validated at the hotel, or they will not let you out of the parking lot, even if you received a ticket upon entry. That was the only source of frustration during our stay, and they do not tell you that upon checkin nor when you enter the property, nor when you speak to the valet.)

Amazing! The views, the food options- we ate at every restaurant but pool side tacos tree amigos were our favorite! Cocktails were excellent! Palomino island was gorgeous! The waterpark was a blast!
I started each day at the gym and found my way pool side or ocean side. We did zip lining, Culebra and the rock slides for our excursions! Such a great trip!

This place was awesome!! Such a positive vibe everywhere you turn, both among the staff and guests. It was a great place to rest and relax, enjoy the nice water park, as well as the private beach island.

Only downside was that the big boats to the island were out of commission for a couple of days of our visit. This resulted in a couple of long waits because the back up boats were too small. I'm nit picking here, though, and overall, great stay!

Loved this hotel! We stayed in the marina area down by the water park. It was so fun for kids and families. So many activities! The ferry to the island was my favorite. The beach there was beautiful and we had the best lunch at the restaurant there. This resort literally has everything! Restaurants are a little pricey but that’s what I’d expect at a place like this. The property itself is absolutely gorgeous. The views are stunning, the pools are gorgeous and the beach is amazing. The employees working on the beach provided wonderful customer service, and the bellmen were fantastic—they gave us several great recommendations for places to enjoy while visiting Puerto Rico. The ice cream shops were also good. The one closest to the coffee shop lacked personality, but the guys at the one next to the restaurant were top-notch.

Unfortunately, the rooms are very outdated. The pictures on the walls looked old and stained, and there was a mildew smell in the sheets. I had to ask for the sheets to be changed for a week because of the smell. It also seemed like there may be a lack of training for housekeeping. The sheets were put on upside down, and when you got into the bed the entire sheet would fall to the floor. The washcloths and towels were also disappointing—they looked dirty, not crisp white, and felt rough like sandpaper.

The steak restaurant was terrible. The property service was young staffed who seemed to lack proper customer service training. Another big disappointment was that many things at the resort were closed due to low occupancy. That really isn’t fair to guests who paid their money expecting to enjoy the full resort experience.

One additional suggestion: the resort should consider removing the cheap cloth shower curtains and replacing them with glass doors.

Would I visit again? Maybe—if some of these issues were addressed.

View from room was outstanding! Staff were very friendly. Housekeeping was meh. Bathroom was not cleaned during stay. Toilet paper not refilled. Sheets on bed were pulled up but pillows were left as we left them, not fluffed/straightened. Outlets on walls did not hold plugs securely, only able to charge phones using half of the outlets in the room.
Restaurants were overall very nice, good food.
Boat ride to island was nice, but a little rough, so bring dramamine, etc if prone to motion sickness.
Pools were lovely. There was always enough room to find a shaded spot, both at the pools and on the island. Likewise, towels were in abundant supply.
Overall, it is a beautiful property, but could improve a bit in the areas of housekeeping and infrastructure.
They offer the ability to fill water bottles at various locations. One of the filter indicators we noticed was red, told the front desk. 5 days later it is still red. No bueno. While they offered a few activities and a play area for kids, if this area was enhanced (perhaps an activity coordinator)they could become a family destination of choice.

It was a nice resort, but needed some updating. The WiFi was pretty terrible and overall systems dated. You have to wear a watch like band to open your room door, but have to manually provide your room number and name for every drink or meal. Most bars ring you up every time you order a drink even if you are having several rounds. We like more adult style properties and this catered more to families and conventions. Also, the food was very average. They did have good bourbon selection in a few bars which is tough to find in the Caribbean. The private island was ok, but transport was not timely like they advertise.
