The room was nice and receptionist at check-in was friendly enough. On Sunday though, the young woman at the desk, was pretty unhelpful. The pool was closed due to a chemical problem. She said she would check levels \"in a few minutes\" to see if they could open. I asked her to please let me know (my room was in the hallway between the pool and her desk). She didn't. After 30 minutes I went to ask her again and she said we could use the pool, but not the hottub. I asked her if it was ok if we checked out a bit late since we had waited to swim. She looked at me blankly and just said \"check-out is at 11\".

We always stay here on our ski trips to Stowe. We like that it is a small, quiet, clean and comfortable property, but still big enough to have a nice indoor pool and hot tub. Our rooms are well equipped and have had everything we need for a stress-free stay. The free shuttle to Stowe Ski Area is very convenient. We feel like an part of the family when we stay here.

I was in Stowe last weekend and broke my shoulder so the next day I stopped by the Grey Fox inn to ask the if they could please cancel my reservation because of my accident. I was aware I had made the reservation through Expedia and was also aware that the cancelation date was over due. I explained the situation to the front desk girls (2) and both said I had to contact Expedia. I did, Expedia contacted the hotel and the hotel said no...I'm sure they double sold my room since they know I was not coming...thanks for your help

I’m not one to usually post poor reviews. My challenge with this hotel centered around the poor state of the shower stall. It had active mold on the tub surround. I tried to find an amicable solution early into my stay but was delayed due to the hotels billing process. Although the staff finally came to deep clean the mold and a small refund provided, it still does not resolve the fact that cleaning staff failed to clean the shower of mold in the first place. It’s not something I would expect at a rate of $200+ a night.

There also seemed to be no way to turn on the shower without the water spraying right at the shower door, which made it difficult to warm up the water before getting wet. The room we had was #29 and the room was a wonderful size and location. Two demerits. Bathtub had a bit of mold. Stairs leading down to room is very steep. A lot for a 68 year old man to carry 2 large suitcases. Even though the old man is a certified gym rat.

Dirty and unsafe... There was a wedding happening 2 doors down at Outbound, so a lot of guests booked Grey Fox because it's cheap. So we- not a part of the wedding guests, were disregarded and given the worst room to save the better options for the wedding guests. I would NOT recommend. When I arrived, the toilet seat was broken, which was a bit disappointing. The hot tub was also undergoing maintenance during regular hours, so I couldn’t use it. I noticed food crumbs in the corner of the table and chairs, though it didn’t bother me much since I was just looking for a quiet place to stay for one night. I had a room with two queen-size beds and a fireplace, which was a nice touch.
