We have loved this place for years. This time some of the staff were curt. The spa was not open as stated in the website. The steam room and outlets in the locker room were nonfunctional and our toilet ran excessively
Also maid service every three days without request isnt consistent with a hotel of this caliber. Also indoor pool was under repair that we only learned close to arrival

The indoor pool was not usable. Website said it was being renovated. Didn't appear to be so. Tgey did have an outdiir pool and hot tub though. Ice machine closest to my room was broken. I had to walk to the other side of the building to get ice. Spa was closed and so was the restaurant. It appears that they have been for some time. My room was very comfortable and clean. There was a small hole in the ceiling which looked like they had initially wanted to put in a light but did not complete the task. The room had a but the hallways were always stifling.

We are currently on a 5,000 mile road trip through New England- a ‘bucket list’ trip we’ve been planning for years- with lodging varying from Wyndham to Hilton’s and others in between. When we found this resort on Expedia, we happily booked a room. To be completely honest, this was the most anticipated stop of our trip. Then we found out the hot air balloons would be there the same weekend and it made it that much more exciting… until we got there. The whole facility was very run down. The roads and parking lots were horribly rutted, the outside needs many repairs, the indoor pool was under construction, the tennis courts were in disrepair, just to scratch the surface on the many issues. The beds in our room were hard and you could feel the springs, the a/c never fully cooled the room, and there was mold in and around the shower. The hot air balloon events were cancelled due to weather, however the weather Saturday evening and Sunday morning would have allowed for the balloons. The front desk staff told us they were playing Shrek and board games to make up for it. I’m sorry, but that in no way made up for it. For the amount of money we paid for the room ($330+) we expected much better accommodations and facilities. The Days Inn we stayed in two nights prior for only $75 was equivalent in quality, maybe even better quality, than the accommodations at Stoweflake. Very disappointed in our stay…

The hotel itself is beautiful and very large, and overall the room and property were clean and well maintained. The staff was also friendly during my stay, which I appreciated.

However, there were a couple of things that made me uncomfortable. One was that the coffee and tea were removed promptly at 6 PM even though there were barely any guests at the hotel at the time. I felt the staff could have made a small exception.

My main concern, though, was security. The property is extremely large, and some areas felt completely isolated and deserted. I noticed that several exterior doors appeared to remain open from the outside, which honestly made me feel unsafe. I raised my concern to the front desk and was told that the doors remain open so guests can come back in. In a hotel of this size, I would expect those doors to remain locked from the outside and require a guest key card for entry. I also looked around for security cameras and did not notice many visible security measures. While the hotel is beautiful, that particular situation affected my sense of safety during the stay.

We stayed at Stoweflake Resort in Vermont after a full day of skiing and what should have been a relaxing night turned into a complete nightmare. We checked in, grabbed our keys, and went up to our room only to find it had not been cleaned from the previous guests. There was trash everywhere and the beds were completely unmade. After skiing all day, that was the last thing we wanted to deal with.

We went back to the front desk and the guy told us we were getting an “upgrade” for me and the three other guys I was staying with. We went to the second room and it was a one bedroom that was missing a bed, even though we booked a two bed room. I asked how that was considered an upgrade. It clearly was not.

So we went back again and were placed in a third room. This one was at least vacant, but it was dark, outdated, and had stains everywhere. For $350 a night you would expect something decent, if not updated then at least clean with solid amenities.

We tried to use the pool and it was green. At that point we asked the front desk for a refund and he refused. To top it all off, we barely slept because a dog in the room next to us barked all night.

Needless to say, do not waste your money here. Save yourself the headache and stay somewhere like Trapp Family Lodge or anywhere else. This place was a complete disappointment.

Housekeeping only came once halfway through our scheduled stay so our garbage piled up. Condition of the facilities was old and tired. However, Expedia has false advertising for this place. When I booked the reservation, it said we would have a full kitchenette with a stove and a sink and things. It had none of that. It was just a room with two beds, and a bathroom. When I went to the front desk to ask them about that, they said NONE of the rooms on the property had a kitchenette. Expedia is notorious for giving false advertisement for Stoweflake, so make sure that you call the actual place to confirm what you got. Needless to say, all the food we had brought to cook on the stove went to waste and we had to go out to eat for every meal

The room is just super outdated. The chairs are old and worn, the bed was comfortable enough, but the linens were old, it really needs to be updated. It was very tired. I have for $350 a night. It seemed to me it should’ve been nicer, there’s no elevator which is fine, stairs were old. The bathroom was fine. It was clean but again outdated. It certainly was not a luxury experience. All the staff I interacted with were perfectly fine. It’s not really walkable, except for to the alchemist brewing company and a pizza joint and a couple of other restaurants. Stoweflake was not what I hoped but had some redeeming qualities. First the positive- The property was expansive. We stayed in a condo and had a very private place. It was conveniently located. The negative- The email confirmation stated check-in was at 3- we were not allowed to check in until 4:00. When I showed the email, staff were unapologetic and borderline rude. The place was dirty- it was evident it had not been vacuumed. There was hair in the shower. The furniture in the lobby/ breakfast area and the room was old, worn and dirty. I didn’t sit on the couch on our condo it seemed so dirty. Staff in general were not friendly.

I do not ever write negative reviews but given the cost of staying here it seems there needs to be some changes.

Room was fine although we were expecting queen beds. Shower temp was too low. Property was obviously in need of a refurbishment with lots of observable deferred maintenance. Hauling our large, heavy suitcases up a flight of narrow stairs with pealing painting and deteriorating fake wood components was a little unnerving. Beds were very comfortable as were the pillows. Towel heating rack was a very pleasant surprise. Large very complete gym facility. Breakfast area needs more seating/tables and a reliable circuit breaker. Seems like microwave and toaster in simultaneous use blew the breaker.

The room was clean and spacious. There is no air conditioning, so it was rather stuffy. We opened both windows, but one crank was not very functional and the window only opened a small amount and had to be pulled back in later. A small piece of the other crank came off, but was able to be put back on and remained functional. The bathroom toilet paper roll bar was not the one that should have been used with the bar holder and popped out every time you touched the roll. The shower had water, but no pressure, so you had to stand next to the wall to get rinsed. Breakfast was sustenance, but nothing to write home about. I was very excited to stay here, but was sadly disappointed especially considering the price.
