This hotel is one of Vermont's architectural treasures and the enchanting town of Stowe is just a short stroll away over a covered bridge. Built in 1813 and renovated in 2003, this air-conditioned New England country house has been carefully restored and is surrounded by a garden.
The hotel has a total of 37 rooms spread over 3 floors and features a lobby with a 24-hour reception desk, a hotel safe, a cloakroom, as well as a courtyard, a games room, a restaurant and a bar which is popular with locals as well. Those arriving by car may use the hotel car park.
The charming rooms are individually furnished and come with an en suite bathroom with a bath and shower, a direct dial telephone and satellite/ cable TV. Further standard features in the carpeted rooms include a double or king-size bed and individually regulated heating and air conditioning.
In the attractive gardens is a swimming pool and a sun terrace. A complimentary, continental breakfast is served each morning.
The Stowe Village Inn is centrally located in Stowe, a 3-minute walk from Vermont Ski Museum and 12 minutes by foot from Swimming Hole. This inn is 1.5 mi (2.4 km) from Stowe Golf Park and 9 mi (14.5 km) from Ben and Jerry's Factory.

Very welcoming inn. The staff was super helpful. Our room was very nice and clean. It was just as represented in the photographs. We had some down time and enjoyed the outdoor fire pit at the end of a ski day and then read for a while in the common space before dinner reservations. The entire place was very warm and comfortable. Plenty of on site parking and easy access to the mountain shuttle and the village center. We loved it!

We began our stay impressed by the inn’s atmosphere and friendly check-in staff, though unloading was somewhat inefficient due to the layout.
On our second night, after 9 p.m., our youngest child became ill and vomited in the room. We called the hotel’s help line for assistance and received no response. With no support available, we cleaned the room ourselves using the available towels. In trying to responsibly contain the soiled linens, we surprised a kitchen staff member as he was leaving to ask for a bag and disinfectant so we could sanitize the area.
The next morning, we informed the front desk about both the illness and the unanswered call. We overheard it being relayed to a manager, yet no one approached us.
After we returned home, General Manager called - not to apologize for the lack of response, but to say she could charge the maximum available for damages but would instead charge a slightly less amount because the towels were a “biohazard” and a total loss to the establishment. Having worked in hospitality, we found that explanation questionable, as established laundering protocols exist for bodily fluids.
The issue is not simply the linen fee. It is the lack of accountability for an operational failure and the defensive, condescending tone that followed. We handled an unfortunate situation responsibly in the absence of hotel support. Based on this experience, we cannot recommend staying here.

The motel is an older building that looks recently renovated. It was very clean and cute with new furniture and simple decor. The staff was extremely friendly and Jasmine gave us great info on the bus system to get to the ski resort. Check in and out was also very easy. Housekeeping did a wonderful job and we always came back to a spotless and freshly cleaned room. The location is perfect and right in town.
Our only negative is that the walls are thin and we could easily hear everyone in the surrounding rooms. There was also some loud clicking noises that came from I believe the heating system. My wife and I love Stowe, VT. We try go get there every now and then. However, our last experience left us bitter, our \"usual\" place had changed owners and it was disappointing. So this time we tried a lovely new inn that just opened in 1945 (well, it's \"new\" to us!): the Stowe Village Inn. What an absolutely charming, beautiful inn. To be honest, I expected to find Bob Newhart behind the desk to greet us! It was even better: Melinda, the GM of the inn, greeted us and checked us in; such a lovely person!
The inn has obviously been well-maintained and renovated over the years, but retains its Vermont-style charm and coziness. The rooms are modern, clean, comfortable.
And you know what they say: location, location, location! You step out of the inn and you're right in the heart of downtown Stowe, and as the Counting Crows sang, \"it's the heart that matters more\".
I just can't say enough about this inn, except that I can't wait to get back there for another visit!

We were in the modern motel section (a great budget-friendly alternative), which is directly across from the main building, with a shared parking lot, so it's easy to enjoy all the amenities available in the lobby, including free coffee, tea, and cocoa, along with a filtered water dispenser and a cabinet of extra towels and toiletries.

Amazing stay, I can't wait to come back! We stopped here after our Air BnB plans fell through due to weather and got one of their last rooms in the outside motel space. The room was super cozy, customer service was top notch, and it was a great central location to all things in Stowe. Special shout out to Jazmine at the front desk who was absolutely lovely, she made our check-in process so easy and made herself available to us whenever we needed her.

The only complaints we had were noise related. There was a tapping noise in the walls, guessing it was the hot water pipes from the heating system. It was definitely annoying but we combated it by playing rain noise on Youtube to help us sleep. They should have paved the parking lot because the sound from cars driving on the rocks was quite noisy. You could hear every car coming in or out. Otherwise, the room was clean, warm, spacious and comfy. The bed and linens were nice as well. The location was perfect to take a quick walk to the main road for shopping/eating. We took a nice walk Doc Ponds for which was a nice walk. Overall, nice stay and would stay again.

We loved it here it’s a very cozy place. AC could be a bit better and the bathroom ventilation needed some help but other than that it was a beautiful property, really really nice staff! They offer tea/coffee all day, very safe area, walkable to EVERYTHING. We would stay here again, it’s very charming. Water pressure was good, internet is a bit on and off where we were in room 3. Not sure how other rooms are. Lots of space in this room which was nice. Definitely would stay again. The on property restaurant was SO GOOD! We had it one night and the service and food was amazing.

This Inn is the cutest! The location in town is perfect, allowing you to leave your car parked there (as a guest of course) and walk around without the hassle of looking parking elsewhere.
Even though the restaurant has no breakfast available yet, they do offer coffee and tea, plus there are plenty of coffee shops nearby that you can walk to and enjoy.
We did not have dinner there, but the menu looked pretty good!
We spent an evening playing monopoly with our kids, out of the many fun board games available to use.

We loved everything about our stay at this beautiful and charming inn! The location is perfect to enjoy downtown Stowe and the Inn itself is so pretty. Our room was clean and spacious, and we loved that we could help ourselves to extra towels. The complimentary coffee, tea and pastries were wonderful, and our lunch at the Grant's the Inn's restaurant was delicous, and made extra enjoyable by the gorgeous mountain view from our table on the lovely porch. We enjoyed all the staff, including the lovely older bearded gentleman who cares for the beautiful gardens. The firepit was an added bonus - we only wish they would add a couple of more on the patio so more guests could enjoy sitting by the fire at night. Highly recommend and already looking forward to returning!
